I Can Hear My Straight Roommate’s Thoughts

Xie Ning is troubled.

He seems to be able to hear one of his roommate’s inner thoughts.

Xie Ning is known by everyone as an untouchable beauty, someone who always keeps a certain distance even from his roommates.

He has a severe craving for physical contact. Fortunately, he has strong self-control and is also a clean freak, so he has always managed to endure it.

“The way he focuses while drawing is so cute.”

“His hands are beautiful too.”

“He looks so obedient when he sleeps…”

Xie Ning’s face turns bright red. He hurriedly gets up, throws out a quick “I have something to do, I’m leaving first,” and rushes away.

Behind him comes Pei Zhi’s inner voice:

“…Did he realize I like him?”

Xie Ning flees in a panic.

Later, Xie Ning’s craving for physical contact becomes more and more serious.

On another rainy day, he returns to the dorm and hears the door lock behind him.

Pei Zhi corners him, looking hurt. “Are you avoiding me?”

In the confusion, Xie Ning raises a hand to push Pei Zhi away, but Pei Zhi catches his wrist instead.

The instant their skin touches, all the strength leaves Xie Ning’s body. He can only lean weakly against Pei Zhi’s chest, breathing hard.

Usually cold and distant, Xie Ning now has a beautiful face flushed deep red.

Xie Ning’s secret is finally discovered.

To help him, Pei Zhi willingly offers himself up—throwing an arm around his shoulders, hugging him, holding him close, and even washing up and climbing into bed on his own at night.

Later still, when Pei Zhi learns that Xie Ning can hear his thoughts, he pins both of Xie Ning’s wrists above his head and asks in a hoarse voice, “What am I thinking right now?”

Xie Ning presses his lips together and says nothing.

He cannot bring himself to say it…

But that is fine. Pei Zhi will coax the answer out of him.
