I Can Hear My Straight Roommate’s Thoughts – CH51

Chapter 51

Xie Ning had no idea how much time had passed. He only knew that his whole body felt dizzy and floaty, and his face had been kissed into blotchy shades of pink. He looked an absolute mess.

At first, Pei Zhi had only wanted to give him a quick kiss, but Xie Ning had chosen the perfect spot—a secluded little corner where no one would notice them making out.

But the important thing now was not the kissing. It was the Ferris wheel.

Pei Zhi glanced at the time. It should be the next Ferris wheel round by now, so he let Xie Ning go, held him steady, and while kissing his cheek, patted his back in a soothing, coaxing way.

The moment Pei Zhi leaned close, Xie Ning’s shoulders twitched as if from instinctive stress. “Wait… you…”

He was unsteady, almost like someone drunk, and he even staggered a step. Pei Zhi reached out in time to support him, Xie Ning’s waist hanging over the crook of his arm. His soft, supple, resilient waist bent like a willow branch, forming an exaggerated curve against Pei Zhi’s arm.

Xie Ning’s hands clutched at Pei Zhi’s arm as he stumbled upright. He stood there blankly for nearly a minute before lightly shaking his head. His voice was a little slow, too. “Wait, I… let me recover a bit more.”

Pei Zhi lifted Xie Ning into his arms face-to-face, one hand under Xie Ning’s butt, the other patting his back. The sudden sensation of weightlessness made Xie Ning instinctively wrap his legs around Pei Zhi’s waist so he wouldn’t fall.

This kind of face-to-face hold, combined with the rhythmic patting on the back, made it feel like Pei Zhi was carrying a little baby and rocking him to sleep.

Xie Ning drooped weakly over Pei Zhi’s shoulder. With the added buff from his skin hunger, it really was… ridiculously easy for him to feel good.

Even after the kiss ended, a lingering current still seemed to run through his body. Every now and then, he gave a tiny involuntary shiver, and his mind was completely blank.

Pei Zhi kept patting his back. “Can’t breathe?”

Xie Ning answered a beat late, “It’s not that I can’t breathe.”

“Then is your head spinning?”

“Mm.” Xie Ning said, “It felt too good.”

Pei Zhi didn’t answer right away.

Only after a moment did he say, “Baby, don’t say something like that in such a… sincere tone.”

Xie Ning lifted his lashes in confusion. “What’s wrong with the way I said it?”

“You’re too cute,” Pei Zhi said. “You say something that filthy with a completely serious face.”

Xie Ning frowned. “How was it filthy?”

He honestly felt the way he’d spoken had been completely normal. Nothing improper about it.

Too lazy to argue, he slowly closed his eyes. After more than ten seconds, he said, “The things you say in your head are what count as filthy.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Xie Ning froze.

His arms around Pei Zhi’s neck tightened slightly. He suddenly felt nervous. How had he just blurted that out?

But Pei Zhi didn’t take it seriously. He pinched Xie Ning’s waist and said, half teasing, “Oh? So you know everything I’m thinking?”

“Mm, I do. But not all of it.” Xie Ning said.

He could only hear part of it.

Pei Zhi humored him gently. “So amazing. Our Baby Ning has mind-reading now.”

“I already did.”

“Yes, yes, you do.” Pei Zhi’s tone was soft as he kissed Xie Ning’s cheek, squishing the soft flesh a little as he did. “Our Baby Ning is the best.”

Xie Ning was speechless.

But whatever. He couldn’t be bothered to explain.

No matter how much he explained, Pei Zhi wouldn’t believe he had telepathy. More likely, he’d assume Xie Ning had been kissed stupid and was talking nonsense because he’d gotten delirious.

He had no interest in being treated like an idiot.

Pei Zhi was the idiot.

Little by little, Xie Ning calmed down again. Pei Zhi touched his face and said, “Your face is so red.”

Xie Ning opened his phone camera and looked at himself. The reflection gave him a shock.

His hair was messy, the corners of his eyes were flushed and damp, and his mouth was swollen so badly it was almost tragic. Near the center of his lip was a shallow but very visible bite mark. Anyone could tell what he’d just been doing—and how intense it had been.

In his current state, he really wasn’t fit to be seen.

“Do you have a mask?” Xie Ning asked.

“I do.”

Pei Zhi always carried masks, wet wipes, and the like with him. Xie Ning was fussy, and especially particular about hygiene. As his pursuer, of course he had to be attentive and considerate.

He took out a wet wipe and carefully cleaned Xie Ning’s face, then put a mask on him. As if pulling a trick, he produced a little folding comb next and meticulously fixed Xie Ning’s slightly messy hair.

Once the mask was on, Xie Ning looked cool and composed again, with no trace of the dazed, kiss-drunk expression he’d had earlier, when his lips had stayed parted and his eyes had gone unfocused.

Pei Zhi took Xie Ning’s hand, their fingers lacing together, and led him to the Ferris wheel checkpoint.

The staff member at the checkpoint looked up and froze.

Reflexively, he glanced behind them, as if expecting to see a film crew shooting a commercial or reality show. The two men had incredible proportions and presence. The taller one was strikingly handsome, while the other had himself wrapped up so tightly in the mask that he looked like some celebrity trying to go incognito. Even so, his superior looks were impossible to miss.

The staff member took their tickets. “Two people?”

The moment he asked, he realized how pointless the question was. A coworker beside him couldn’t help laughing. “Couple, obviously. Couples ride in pairs.”

“Come on in. Here’s a free matching bracelet for couples. Wishing you a hundred years together~”

Most people riding the Ferris wheel were couples or children. The amusement park was running a promotion recently: children who rode got a little stuffed charm, while couples got matching bracelets.

The bracelet was just an ordinary red cord. Cheap, yes, but the meaning behind it was sweet, so lots of couples liked it.

Pei Zhi took the pair and turned to Xie Ning. “Can I put yours on for you?”

Xie Ning held out his hand.

Pei Zhi pushed up Xie Ning’s sleeve a little, revealing a length of pale wrist, white and smooth like lotus root. One of the wrist bones jutted out slightly, the bone structure distinct, making the already slim wrist look even more delicate.

Pei Zhi tried very carefully to tie the red cord onto Xie Ning’s wrist, but the clasp was too small and his fingers were too large. He fumbled badly, missing the hole several times.

His handsome face slowly turned stern with concentration. He lowered his head and hurried awkwardly, getting so flustered he was starting to sweat.

The nearby staff member was practically dying of laughter. “Should I do it? This handsome guy seems really nervous.”

“No,” Pei Zhi refused immediately. Looking at Xie Ning, he said very seriously, “I’ll do it.”

He looked like someone might snatch the chance away from him.

After struggling for quite a while, Pei Zhi finally got the bracelet on. Then, as if he had just secured a priceless treasure, he lifted Xie Ning’s hand and kissed the back of it.

Xie Ning blinked, caught off guard, and his face warmed again.

Someone nearby seemed to laugh quietly—it was another couple waiting in line behind them. One of them said, “Handsome guy, your boyfriend is really clingy.”

Xie Ning: “…Mm.”

That was true.

Far too clingy.

“Not boyfriend yet,” Pei Zhi cut in. “I’m still chasing him.”

“Haha~ Then good luck! Hope you win him over soon!”

“Mm.” Pei Zhi became unusually polite. “Thank you.”

Then he took Xie Ning’s hand and deliberately used his tall body to shield him from other people’s eyes.

Once they boarded the Ferris wheel, it had barely begun moving before Pei Zhi crowded over again.

There wasn’t much room inside a Ferris wheel cabin to begin with. Xie Ning got squeezed all the way into the corner until he was almost sitting on Pei Zhi’s thigh. Helplessly, he turned his head. “What is it?”

Pei Zhi looked at him with a pitiful expression. “I want a hug.”

“I’m a little scared of heights. Can I hug you?”

Xie Ning truly didn’t know what to say. “Pei Zhi. First you’re scared of ghosts, now you’re scared of heights. Next are you going to tell me you’re afraid of the dark too?”

At first, Xie Ning had honestly believed him. But later, he realized Pei Zhi wasn’t afraid at all—he was just using those excuses to get more physical closeness.

All pretexts, nothing more.

“Okay, I’m not scared of ghosts, and I’m not scared of heights. Those were fake.” Pei Zhi admitted. “But wanting to hug you is real.”

He bent down, threading an arm behind Xie Ning’s back, his face drawing closer and closer. Very seriously, he asked, “Can I? Let me hug you.”

If he didn’t let Pei Zhi hug him now, there was no knowing what other nonsense Pei Zhi would come up with later.

“Go ahead,” Xie Ning said.

Immediately, Pei Zhi wrapped an arm around Xie Ning’s waist and lifted him onto his lap.

Like a large dog, Pei Zhi buried himself in Xie Ning’s hair, sniffing. Then he took off Xie Ning’s mask and leaned sideways to kiss his cheek, mumbling, “I like you so much.”

Xie Ning leaned back against Pei Zhi’s chest and let him nuzzle and rub against him. Once Pei Zhi got tired of rubbing, he started playing with Xie Ning’s fingers instead, over and over, childish to the extreme.

“Childish.”

“Very childish,” Pei Zhi agreed. “Can I kiss you?”

Xie Ning gave a small “Mm.”

Pei Zhi bent down and kissed his cheek, then touched his lips with his fingers.

The full, red lips were slightly swollen, and there was a faint bite mark on the lower lip. The moment Pei Zhi rubbed his finger a little harder over it, Xie Ning’s shoulder twitched.

“So pitiful,” Pei Zhi murmured.

“…Pei Zhi, you’re always like this.”

“And you always say that after I’m like this.” Pei Zhi mimicked his tone. “You’re always like this.”

Xie Ning glanced at him. “How do I talk?”

“Like this right now.” Pei Zhi said. “Like you’re acting spoiled.”

“I am not acting spoiled.”

“I know,” Pei Zhi said as if it were obvious. “But to me, this counts as acting spoiled.”

Xie Ning simply wasn’t the type who knew how to act spoiled. When he was little, lots of children would cling to their parents and ask for toys. He had never had much interest in toys, so there had never really been that need. And because his parents were always busy working, he also hadn’t had many opportunities to be spoiled or to act spoiled.

Maybe he could have learned, but because there were so few chances, he naturally never did.

Thinking back carefully, Xie Ning felt that his tone and expression were perfectly normal. It was just ordinary conversation. Why did it count as acting spoiled in Pei Zhi’s eyes?

“I think you have a misunderstanding about me. I don’t know how to act spoiled, and I’m not doing it.”

“Really?” Pei Zhi lowered his head and held Xie Ning by the chin, their noses rubbing lightly. In an intimate tone, he said, “But right now you are acting spoiled with me.”

It seemed that what the two of them considered “acting spoiled” was not the same thing at all.

Maybe, in Pei Zhi’s eyes, no matter what he did, it would count as acting spoiled. Sometimes Pei Zhi’s thinking was very stubborn—just like how he was absolutely convinced Xie Ning did not have telepathy.

Forget it. There was no point arguing over something so childish.

Pei Zhi pinched his cheek. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

“If I say anything, it becomes acting spoiled.” Xie Ning cast him a light look. As he turned his head, the cat-ear headband on top of his head even bobbed slightly. “So how would I dare keep talking?”

The fluffy cat ears wobbled. The outer fur was white and soft, the inner part a pale pink.

Staring at Xie Ning’s cool, distant face, Pei Zhi’s Adam’s apple rolled. In a low voice, he asked, “You really don’t think this is acting spoiled?”

“No.”

Pei Zhi reached up to touch the cat ears. They were very soft—but not as soft as Xie Ning’s skin. Rubbing Xie Ning’s cheek, he said, “But it’s so cute.”

Then he kissed his cheek. “Baby, we’re going to spend the next thirty minutes on this Ferris wheel.”

A Ferris wheel took half an hour to make one full round, which was a pretty long time. And there really wasn’t all that much scenery worth looking at.

Xie Ning asked, “Do you think it’s boring?”

“No.” Pei Zhi said. “I want to kiss you. Can I?”

“Now?”

“Mm. Right now.” Pei Zhi looked at his lips.

Xie Ning didn’t understand. “The Ferris wheel just started moving. We’re kissing already? Aren’t people supposed to wait until it reaches the highest point…”

“That has nothing to do with it. I just want to kiss you. I don’t need any reason.” Pei Zhi looked into Xie Ning’s eyes and said very seriously. Then, after a pause, he added, “If I really have to give one, then it’s because I like you.”

“So I want to kiss you.”

Xie Ning froze for a moment, then heat crept over his face again. His skin was so fair that any emotional shift showed almost immediately.

“Wait a little.” Xie Ning fumbled for an excuse. “I… the little kid just gave me candy. Let me eat it first.”

Pei Zhi took the candy from his pocket. It was grape-flavored, a deep purple. He unwrapped it, and just as he was about to pop it into Xie Ning’s mouth, he suddenly said, “But the kid said the candy was for both of us.”

“He said we should eat it together.”

Xie Ning’s eyes widened slightly. “It’s hard candy. How are we supposed to eat it together?”

Was Pei Zhi planning to break it in half?

“There’s a way.”

Pei Zhi caught Xie Ning by the chin, making his lips purse out a little. In a coaxing tone, he said, “Baby, stick out your tongue.”

Xie Ning had only just let a little bit of his tongue out when Pei Zhi fed the candy into his mouth. Just as he was about to pull back, Pei Zhi suddenly caught the tip of his tongue between his lips, then pushed into a kiss through the parted lips.

The grape candy rested on Xie Ning’s tongue and was stirred farther into his mouth by Pei Zhi’s. The candy stayed between them, sucked and rolled around as they kissed.

The fruity sweetness melted through both their mouths.

Pei Zhi caught the soft lips between his own and very deliberately sucked and licked through the inside of Xie Ning’s mouth, toying with the already-swollen lips in a way that was almost indecent. The dirty method of kissing made Xie Ning’s brows tighten slightly.

The candy got pushed deep into Xie Ning’s mouth. His mouth was already small to begin with, barely spacious enough for Pei Zhi’s thick tongue. He tried to push the candy back out, but Pei Zhi only stirred it in more roughly instead. Not only did he fail, but the inside of his mouth turned wetter and wetter, the candy melting faster as it was heated by the kiss. It had just been nudged toward the back of his mouth when Pei Zhi hooked it back out again, trapping it between their entwined tongues and making it join the game.

Xie Ning’s mouth was soft and tender. Kissing it felt like chewing tofu, and every time, sweet fluid seeped out. Pei Zhi’s breathing grew harsher and harsher, and then he almost roughly dragged both soft lips into his own mouth and gnawed and pressed at them. His coarse tongue swept through every corner of the mouth, wrapping the tongue inside in hot breath. The inside of his mouth gave off a deep sweet smell, and the faint electric current shooting to his brain made him feel as though he were going to melt.

At first, Pei Zhi could still keep hold of a little rationality.

But later, he truly seemed to go mad.

His strong tongue, with no finesse at all, just licked wildly around Xie Ning’s mouth. The candy grew smaller and smaller until it started scraping against the tongue.

That made Xie Ning uncomfortable. Just as he tried to pull his tongue back and rest for a moment, it was dragged out again. And Pei Zhi actually seemed to want to push deeper into his mouth.

The hard candy brushed against a tender spot on his tongue, and tears burst from Xie Ning’s eyes immediately. In broken breath, he managed, “Pei Zhi, don’t—mm!”

Before he could get out more than a few words, Pei Zhi’s tongue tangled tightly around his already soft, over-kissed tongue and began stirring savagely again. Every time Xie Ning tried to pull away, Pei Zhi seemed to sense it first and would immediately suck Xie Ning’s tongue deep into his own mouth and punish it with hard, greedy sucking. It was a rough and wicked way of kissing, and by the time Pei Zhi was done, Xie Ning was completely overwhelmed.

All he could hear was the wet, sticky sound of tongues tangling.

Pei Zhi held the back of his neck, forcing him to tip his throat back and swallow every bit of saliva he fed him.

Xie Ning’s head buzzed. The candy was tossed between them until there was barely a tiny piece left.

The sweet smell in Xie Ning’s mouth was driving Pei Zhi almost out of his mind. He kissed with reckless abandon, one hand firmly around Xie Ning’s waist, and then, unsatisfied, he reached for Xie Ning’s hand too. When he finally found it, their fingers slid together through the narrow gap between them, interlocking tightly—only for that added intimacy to make the kiss even more intense.

His rough tongue licked all through Xie Ning’s mouth, leaving it soaked and glossy. The scent rising from inside Xie Ning’s mouth and the one clinging to his body made Pei Zhi feel almost delirious.

He really was going insane.

Pei Zhi cradled Xie Ning’s dazed face and pushed his fringe back, revealing the smooth, pale forehead beneath. Half the candy had melted in one of their mouths, half in the other, and he kissed him harder and deeper, almost viciously. Then, when the kiss became especially deep, Xie Ning suddenly started struggling much more, broken little sobs spilling from his throat.

“Mm… mm…”

Maybe because Xie Ning looked so pitiful then, Pei Zhi actually found it in himself to let him go.

When their lips parted, a thin silver thread stretched between them, then fell silently against the skin around Xie Ning’s mouth.

His pale, beautiful face was covered in blooming red. He looked seductively flushed. Xie Ning was kneeling on Pei Zhi’s lap now, while Pei Zhi held him by the waist and tilted his head up to kiss him.

At this angle, it made it look as if Xie Ning were the one?? leaning down to kiss Pei Zhi.

Xie Ning lowered his lashes, the corners of his eyes already wet. From below, Pei Zhi stared at him. His lashes were long and dark, like little fans.

“Mm…” Xie Ning pushed weakly at him. “No, mm…”

The moment their lips had barely separated, saliva still stretched in sticky strands from the corner of the mouth. His tongue, unable to withdraw, remained half out, only to be sucked and licked and teased again.

Xie Ning’s whole face was flushed. He looked genuinely uncomfortable. Finally, he managed to pull his poor tongue free from Pei Zhi’s mouth, but his limbs were so weak that he could only brace himself on Pei Zhi’s shoulders and pant.

“Did it taste good?” Pei Zhi asked hoarsely, stroking the back of his neck.

Xie Ning looked dazed. “What?”

“The candy.” Pei Zhi said. “You had half. I had half.”

His gaze fixed on Xie Ning’s watery lips and the little tongue that still wouldn’t fully retreat. His Adam’s apple moved. “So sweet. What do you think?”

What… what candy?

Xie Ning’s mouth had been kissed far past its limit. His tongue had been sucked until he couldn’t pull it back in. The tip was bright red and swollen, and saliva kept slipping from the corners of his lips.

His cheeks were crimson, his eyes unfocused, his hair thoroughly disheveled.

He was trying very hard to steady his breathing, but the tears and little sounds from his throat still wouldn’t stop.

He looked utterly ruined.

In midair, Pei Zhi licked at the little tongue Xie Ning still couldn’t draw back in. Xie Ning trembled as if startled. But this time, Pei Zhi didn’t kiss him again. Instead, he reached out and lightly pinched that soft tongue.

Under Xie Ning’s confused gaze, Pei Zhi asked in a low voice, “Didn’t we just eat candy? Half for you, half for me.”

“How did it taste?”

“I… candy?” Xie Ning clearly wasn’t understanding a word of what Pei Zhi was saying. He was only catching isolated fragments. Looking even more confused, he asked the wrong question entirely. “Is it in my mouth?”

“Mm. It’s in there.” Pei Zhi said. “Can’t you feel it?”

The cat-ear headband was still securely on Xie Ning’s head, though slightly crooked. Worn at that angle, it made him look even more foolishly adorable, especially with the completely blank, muddled expression on his face.

It was…

Too cute.

Too pitiful.

Too easy to bully.

Xie Ning shook his head, and with it, the pink cat ears swayed too. Very obediently, he said, “I don’t know.”

Pei Zhi lowered his head and touched the cat ears. The sound of him swallowing was even clearer now. Then he lifted Xie Ning’s chin and asked, “Did you accidentally swallow it?”

Xie Ning tipped up his face blankly. “Then what do we do?”

“Open your mouth, and I’ll look for it.” Pei Zhi said. “Open a little wider—yes, like that.”

Xie Ning obediently opened his mouth.

At times like this, he really was too compliant. Pei Zhi was only taking advantage of the fact that his brain was still muddled, feeding him one lie after another.

And yet… at times like this, Xie Ning truly was very obedient and very easy to fool, even a little silly. Pei Zhi honestly suspected that if he wanted to do something bad right now, Xie Ning would probably still nod and agree.

And even if it hurt later, he might hold his own legs and tear up while telling him it was okay.

Pei Zhi’s reason was already hanging by a thread. Still, he held onto it. Pinching Xie Ning’s chin, he leaned down and inhaled the sweet breath drifting from between Xie Ning’s lips. Inside there was also Pei Zhi’s own scent.

That feeling gave Pei Zhi an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. Like some wild animal, he longed to leave his mark all over his mate—inside and out, nowhere spared.

“How is it possible I can’t find it?” Pei Zhi said with mock confusion. “Baby, open wider—yes, that’s it.”

“I need to see your whole tongue.”

Xie Ning tried very hard to open his mouth wider, but his lips and mouth were naturally small, so there was only so much he could manage. Under the golden sunlight and bright blue sky, his face glowed pink, even the tiny fine hairs on his cheeks visible.

His tongue was wet and vividly red from being kissed, and there was a dark bite mark at the tip.

Pei Zhi kept coaxing him. “Baby, stick your tongue out a little more… yes, exactly like that.”

Then, in a hoarse voice, he said, “Such a good baby.”

Even if Xie Ning didn’t understand why this was necessary, listening to Pei Zhi couldn’t be wrong… right?

So he obediently held his mouth open and tried very hard to stick his tongue out. But the saliva overflowed faster than he could manage, sliding from the corners of his mouth and making his chin wet. It even ran all over Pei Zhi’s hand.

The rich sweetness hung in the air between them. Pei Zhi’s eyes darkened further, shadow shifting inside them. He bent to the corner of Xie Ning’s lips and carefully smelled the saliva that had just dripped out.

So fragrant. So sweet. So much of it.

And still, he felt dissatisfied.

The taste he’d left in Xie Ning’s mouth had already faded too much. Even though they’d kissed only moments ago, and he’d fed Xie Ning plenty of his own saliva.

Why did the scent fade so quickly?

Staring at that trembling tongue that couldn’t retract because it had gone so numb and sore, Pei Zhi’s Adam’s apple rolled. Then, parting his lips, he suddenly took the tip of Xie Ning’s tongue into his mouth and gave it a small suck.

A very obscene sucking sound came out.

Very loud.

Xie Ning felt both ashamed and strange. He tried to pull his tongue back at once, only for Pei Zhi to draw it right back in. Their tongues ended up tangling together in midair.

He had barely recovered his breath from before, and already a new round of plundering had begun. Xie Ning was kissed until his body lost strength, forcing him to brace both hands on Pei Zhi’s shoulders to stay balanced.

His fair, elegant face was dyed crimson. Tears ran from the corners of his eyes. Unconsciously, he made little sounds: “Mm… Pei Zhi, it’s so sore—”

Against the grinding of their lips, Pei Zhi said in a low voice, “You’re acting spoiled again.”

More and more saliva filled his mouth. Xie Ning couldn’t swallow fast enough before more was already being fed in. A flush spread across his neck and behind his ears. Whenever the kiss deepened, his body would arch back, his knees seeming unable to hold him, and he would sway helplessly.

The only sound around them was the wet, sticky noise of kissing.

Xie Ning whimpered softly, but it won him no mercy. If anything, Pei Zhi kissed him even harder.

The swollen, glistening lips had gone numb from the constant sucking. Pei Zhi twisted around his soft tongue and greedily devoured it. With the Ferris wheel now high in the sky, the light was bright and clear, illuminating the lips—already rubbed wet and flushed from the long kiss—with a near obscene brilliance.

“Mm…” Xie Ning’s voice came out in broken fragments. His mouth was sore. He didn’t want to cry, but the tears simply wouldn’t stop. They kept spilling down, wetting his entire face.

“Don’t… don’t kiss me anymore.”

Half sobbing, Xie Ning said, “My mouth hurts.”

“Baby…” Pei Zhi held his face in one hand, his tongue charging through the wet mouth and pressing one of Xie Ning’s cheeks outward into a visible bulge. The beautiful face was almost distorted. Speaking against his mouth, he said, “We’ve reached the highest point.”

Xie Ning froze. He turned to look out the window.

They were so high up now that the sky and horizon seemed to join into one. The floating clouds and endless blue felt close enough to reach out and touch.

“At the highest point of the Ferris wheel, what are we supposed to do?” Pei Zhi coaxed. “You remember, don’t you?”

Of course Xie Ning remembered.

You were supposed to kiss at the highest point for good luck.

But they had already been kissing for so long…

They’d started kissing the moment they stepped into the cabin.

The Ferris wheel took half an hour to make one turn. If this kept up, was he really going to spend the entire half hour kissing Pei Zhi?

That really was too much.
