Recently, Jin Chi’an noticed something strange about his arranged marriage partner.

That man always looked at him with the resentful eyes of someone betrayed in love, as if Jin Chi’an had done something terribly wrong to him.

Although Jin Chi’an didn’t have any special feelings toward this political marriage partner, being stared at like that still made him uncomfortable. Fortunately, every night a fluffy white tiger would crawl into his blankets, instantly improving his mood.

Still, as the Empire’s chief guide from the Royal Loivette Academy, Jin Chi’an was determined to uncover why his marriage partner was acting so strangely. But after an accident, he transformed into his spiritual form and could no longer ask questions directly.

Maine Coon spiritual form (unable to speak, communication-by-body-language version):
“Whose little tiger is this cute? Would you like a VIP grooming service?”

White tiger (showing sharp claws):
“Hah. The mistress dares to walk right into my house? Looking for death!”

Maine Coon spiritual form (trying to explain in panic but unable to speak):
“Wait, I think you misunderstood something!”

Years ago, while working as an intern in the beastman nation, Jin Chi’an—an extreme fluff enthusiast—fell completely in love with a little white tiger there.

The white tiger was obedient and adorable, spoiled him shamelessly, and acted cute all the time. Though whenever he described it that way, other people always looked horrified.

But Jin Chi’an would never forget that year when star pirates attacked. He rescued every cub… except that one white tiger cub.

After that, he never stepped into the Free Zone again.

Many years later, now the Empire’s chief guide, he traveled to the beastman nation for a political marriage. Unexpectedly, he discovered that his marriage partner looked exactly like the little white tiger he once raised.

But what he didn’t understand was: what exactly was wrong with this marriage partner lately?

Every time he saw Jin Chi’an’s spiritual form, the white tiger would arch its back and growl, as though facing a mortal enemy, seemingly eager for a battle between males.

Then at night, it would obediently come to Jin Chi’an’s bedside again, terrifying his roommate—whose spiritual form was a hamster—into fleeing in panic.

Only then did Jin Chi’an finally realize:

“Wait… did you fail to recognize that the Maine Coon is me, and mistake my spiritual form for a love rival?”

“Mhm. I know now.”

The white tiger raised a paw and pinned the Maine Coon beneath it, giving it a full VIP grooming session.

Because of the shared senses between guide and spiritual form, Jin Chi’an instantly felt chills down his spine, his ears burning red. Under the white tiger’s triumphant grin, he was furious but didn’t dare say a word.
