Don’t Bite My Spiritual Form – CH30

Chapter 30

In the banquet hall at the center of the palace, Oshta commanded his newly born clansmen to advance in the direction the nobles had fled.

The mental net he spread out covered the sky above the palace, sensing the movements of the nobles on the front line.

From the gradually weakening mental-power fluctuations, it was clear that the drug in the fruit juice was taking effect. Before long, that group of the empire’s high bloodlines would become hosts for his clansmen.

Thinking of this, Oshta pulled a smile across Jin Mian’s face and confidently sensed the situation ahead.

Until a powerful mental energy began fluctuating continuously, weaving back and forth among several streams of mental energy belonging to his own kind.

A moment later, the number of mental bodies belonging to his clansmen dropped sharply within his sensing mental net.

Oshta’s brows furrowed tightly, his gaze dark and unreadable. A trace of killing intent flashed across Jin Mian’s pretty face, so faint it was almost imperceptible.

When that energy fluctuated a second time, Oshta transmitted a large amount of mental energy into Jin Mian’s consciousness cloud.

The gradually strengthening mental power caused offensive tendrils to extend from Jin Mian’s mental net.

After the tendrils confirmed the target of attack, countless offensive spikes stabbed toward Qin Hua’s consciousness cloud.

Just as he thought he had succeeded, a rather familiar mental power blocked all of his attacks.

Correspondingly, the tiger-shaped totem on his back was now emitting a dazzling red glow.

“You’re finally here.”

Joy flashed through Jin Mian’s eyes as her consciousness cloud received the energy information transmitted by the mental net.

A mental power extremely similar to this body’s blocked all the attacks he had released.

When she mobilized the main body’s mental energy to launch a second mental attack, several beams from energy-gun shots came straight for her head.

Oshta controlled the body to dodge the oncoming attacks. Before he could withdraw his mental tendrils, a cream-colored Maine Coon leaped into the air from the garden on one side and bit down on the mental tendril she had released outside.

Waves of pain transmitted from this body entered Oshta’s main body. The attacked consciousness cloud activated its self-defense and automatically drew on the mental power in the mental sea to resist the Maine Coon’s attack.

Sensing the loss of mental power, Oshta had no choice but to sever the mental tendril that had been bitten and shredded.

Compared to being torn by a mental body’s teeth, the artificial severing of the tendril caused Jin Mian’s brain to suffer even more serious damage.

In only a moment, Oshta’s control over and sensing of the mental net rapidly declined.

Looking at the human guide walking slowly toward her while holding the tie clip, Oshta controlled Jin Mian’s body and forced a smile onto her face, which had twisted from the pain.

“We meet again, Experiment Subject Number One.”

Oshta repaired Jin Mian’s consciousness cloud and released the lynx from her mental sea.

The moment the two felines met each other’s eyes, they let out low growls at one another.

Jin Chi’an picked Puff up onto his shoulder and looked down at Jin Mian, who had collapsed to her knees uncontrollably because of the body’s pain.

“Long time no see, 001.”

On his shoulder, Puff’s pupils abruptly contracted. Its eyes, fixed on the lynx, seeped with dense killing intent.

Before Jin Mian’s consciousness cloud fully recovered, Jin Chi’an extended several offensive tendrils and invaded the consciousness cloud that was gradually being repaired.

The moment the complex neural pathways entered his mind, Jin Chi’an controlled his mental tendrils and completely stirred the other party’s consciousness cloud into chaos. During this, he did not forget to attack the lair where Oshta’s main body was stationed.

But clearly, simple mental attacks could not pose a threat. The other party’s main body transmitted a continuous stream of mental energy toward this body, allowing the consciousness cloud that had been attacked until it fell apart to rapidly recover within a short time.

For a moment, a familiar sensation swept through Jin Chi’an’s mind. Memories of a similar battle from the past kept surfacing, constantly reminding him of his former mistake.

Only after Jin Mian’s consciousness cloud recovered for the fourth time did Jin Chi’an stop the further advance of his mental tendrils.

This sudden pause made Oshta, who had been continuously transmitting energy, feel something was strange. He stopped supplying mental power to Jin Mian.

“Even if you completely destroy this body, I’ll still have another body.”

“Is that so?”

Jin Chi’an curved his lips, unfolded the particle blade hidden inside the tie clip, and rushed to Jin Mian’s side.

The particle light blade flew from his hand and split open the zerg blocking Oshta.

The enraged newly born aliens all summoned their mental bodies one after another, surrounding Jin Chi’an within their attack range.

Jin Chi’an lowered his face. His black bangs covered his eyes, making his gaze impossible to read.

As a cold snort fell, the surrounding aliens went berserk after sensing the mockery coming from him.

Several mental bodies pounced and bit toward Jin Chi’an, but before they could touch his body, they were knocked to the ground by the attack of a Maine Coon.

At the same time, Jin Chi’an extended the mental tendrils he had sent out into hundreds of branches, invading the consciousness clouds of the sentinels and guides in front of him one by one.

Because the newly born aliens could not quickly adapt to their bodies, the consciousness-cloud nests they had occupied were rapidly cracked open by Jin Chi’an.

In an instant, several transparent, many-legged long worms were dragged out from the consciousness clouds they had parasitized.

As Jin Chi’an approached, disbelief appeared on Jin Mian’s face. Seeing the number of dead aliens on the ground increasing, Oshta subconsciously clenched his palm.

“Your mental power…”

Before Oshta finished speaking, the doubt in his heart received its answer through Jin Chi’an’s actions.

Jin Chi’an, whose mental power had already been exhausted, had scarlet eyes. His mental tendrils mechanically maintained their attacking posture, completely killing the aliens that had already been separated from their hosts.

Only when his overdrawn mental power was completely depleted did he take a mental-power enhancer from his pocket and inject it beneath his neck.

After the third mental-power drug had been injected, Oshta finally recovered from his shock. For a moment, he even forgot to stop the other party’s suicidal behavior.

“Are you insane? The upper limit for humans injecting mental-power drugs within one hour is…”

“Two.”

Jin Chi’an threw the syringe in his hand to the ground.

At this moment, his pupils had completely turned into feline vertical pupils. The scarlet glow emerging from his eyes could not conceal the killing intent within them.

Puff, following behind him, was finishing the cleanup, using its sharp claws to completely sever the consciousness-cloud pathways connecting the nobles to their mental seas.

“What are you doing?”

Suspicion flashed through Jin Mian’s eyes as she warily watched Jin Chi’an approach her.

“Completely destroying their mental-sea connections.”

Jin Chi’an curved his lips and turned the particle light blade in his hand, answering the doubt in Oshta’s heart.

“Jin Mian’s own mental power is far inferior to mine. As long as I destroy the mental-sea connection pathways of all possible hosts, your end will be the same as theirs.”

Jin Chi’an looked at the second-stage aliens on the ground that had been separated from their hosts, calmly analyzing the feasibility of this plan.

Jin Chi’an’s confident appearance fell into Oshta’s eyes, leaving him puzzled. He mocked Jin Chi’an’s reckless behavior.

“Oh, it seems you’ve already figured out how our people parasitize. But are you certain?”

The way Oshta looked at Jin Chi’an carried the hunger of someone who had seen prey.

“Are you so sure that after dealing with Jin Mian, there won’t be any other parasitable organisms around?”

Following the other party’s gaze as it landed on him, Jin Chi’an instantly understood what he meant and replied with a soft laugh, “Of course. The side effect of the third enhancer will completely destroy the mental pathways connecting a guide’s consciousness cloud to their mental sea.”

As Jin Chi’an spoke, he looked at Puff, who had jumped onto his shoulder. With reluctance, he scratched Puff’s fluffy chin, then instantly released offensive mental tendrils several times stronger than usual.

At the same time, he held the particle light blade unfolded from the tie clip in a reverse grip. In only an instant, both physical and mental attacks reached Jin Mian at the same time.

As the particle light blade pierced through her heart, Jin Chi’an’s mental tendrils also arrived inside her consciousness cloud.

The countless branching mental tendrils cut off her consciousness-cloud pathways. The originally precise mental-net nest was completely crushed. Before the mental power transmitted by Oshta could restore it, Jin Chi’an’s second round of attacks suppressed its growth once more.

Only when the transparent, many-legged long worm clinging tightly to one pathway revealed its true form did Jin Chi’an change the direction of his offensive tendrils and launch an attack at Oshta’s main body.

As the host’s life signs slowly dried up, Oshta, who depended on it for survival, gradually lost strength. The mental energy he used to resist the other party’s attack also drained away with it.

Immediately afterward, its legs were cut off one by one. Jin Chi’an’s mental tendrils embedded themselves into its main body, trying to drag it out.

Just as he was about to completely pull Oshta out, a sharp, overwhelming pain swept through Jin Chi’an’s entire body.

A white tiger that had rushed out from the garden was biting down hard on his mental body, Puff, about to tear out its throat.

“Felix?”

Jin Chi’an cried out in shock. The pain in his neck instantly made him lose control of his mental tendrils.

Because of this, the restrained Oshta was able to break free and regain control of Jin Mian’s body.

Jin Chi’an endured the intense suffocating sensation and released mental power to force Felix’s movements to stop.

Watching the two of them tear into each other, Oshta, who had also collapsed to one side because of his injuries, let out a successful laugh. Weakly, he mocked Jin Chi’an.

“I didn’t expect this body, combined with the beastman mental brand, to be able to completely control the hound’s consciousness. I really have to thank you for this, Experiment Subject Number One.”

By the time Jin Mian’s laughter reached Jin Chi’an’s ears, it had gradually become blurry and unclear. As Felix tore into Puff, several wounds gradually appeared on Jin Chi’an’s body.

Jin Chi’an, collapsed on the ground, was nearly drained of strength. Then the shielding device that had fallen from his pocket rolled to his hand and accidentally pressed against the activation button.

For a moment, the optical-computer signal interference inside the palace was completely blocked.

The news of Jin Chi’an’s declining vital signs was simultaneously transmitted to Felix’s optical computer.

As the automatic video call connected successfully, Jin Chi’an’s face, full of pain, was transmitted into Felix’s optical computer.

“Felix…”

Jin Chi’an’s faint call passed through the optical computer and entered Felix’s consciousness cloud.

Felix gradually sensed the stabbing pain of the brand behind his ear. His consciousness slowly began to clear.

“Chi’an…”

The devastated scene entered Felix’s eyes. Among the fallen nobles, he saw Jin Chi’an’s pain-filled face at a glance.

Felix called Jin Chi’an’s name and mechanically walked to him. Only when a hand gently touched the aching root of his ear did the consciousness controlled by Oshta completely awaken.

The memories of being controlled by the mental brand instantly flooded into his mind. Felix’s eyes reddened. Helplessly, he looked at Jin Chi’an, who had already fainted.

Until a familiar voice entered his consciousness cloud.

A figure dressed in a nursery uniform walked up to him and gently kissed the tip of his nose.

“You scratched my hand, little tyrant…”
