Don’t Bite My Spiritual Form – CH19

The Mount

Chapter 19: The Mount

The tea Charles had been holding in his mouth sprayed out in an instant, choking him until he kept coughing.

“Felix, you should watch fewer brainwashing imperial dramas from now on.” Charles could barely suppress the smile on his face. He truly had not expected such words to come from the mouth of his younger brother, known as Iskan’s God of War.

Inside Jin Chi’an’s hospital room, Amelie had already finished giving her instructions and left, leaving him alone on the cold bed, missing the comfortable big furball from last night.

Jin Chi’an slowly let out a breath and prepared to open his optical computer to contact Felix.

But he noticed that his optical computer seemed to have been modified. There was now an additional function that would automatically call his emergency contact if his vital signs dropped.

And this emergency contact was none other than Felix.

Jin Chi’an looked suspiciously at the words “vital signs drop.” Tentatively, he held his breath.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds…

The video call was automatically connected, and Felix’s anxious face appeared on the optical computer.

“Why are you up? Are you feeling unwell anywhere? Don’t move. I’m coming over right now.”

Felix’s face was full of worry as he checked Jin Chi’an from head to toe.

“I’m fine. Don’t come over. I was just about to go to the command room.”

Jin Chi’an laughed as he looked at Felix in human form. Somehow, that cold face now looked much more pleasing to him.

After cutting off the call, Jin Chi’an changed into the military uniform that had been folded neatly beside the hospital bed, then pushed open the door and left the hospital room.

As soon as he stepped out, he ran into a beastman from the medical team wearing a white coat.

“Chi’an, are you feeling better?”

The white stork beastman leaned close to Jin Chi’an and ingratiatingly offered him a candy, the kind used to balance out bitterness when children took medicine.

Seeing him getting closer and closer, Jin Chi’an uncomfortably shifted to the side, skillfully avoiding the hand the other party stretched out as if trying to wrap around his waist. He also refused the candy being offered to his mouth.

“No need, thank you.”

The moment Jin Chi’an’s refusal left his mouth, the white stork put on an aggrieved expression.

“Why won’t you eat the candy I gave you? Do you not want to bond with me anymore?”

“Huh?”

Jin Chi’an had already dodged several meters away from him. He looked in disbelief at the white stork, who continued rambling.

“Or did you fall in love with another beastman again? Is it that white tiger guarding your door?”

The white stork looked at Jin Chi’an as if he were a heartless man, his gaze fixed firmly on Jin Chi’an’s confused face.

“It really is him. Don’t like him, okay? Tiger beastmen are so fickle. Even if they have cubs, they won’t care for them. Unlike us bird beastmen—we’re devoted, loyal, and also good fathers.”

Seeing Jin Chi’an unmoved and still keeping him at a distance, the white stork continued, “That white tiger is so fierce. While you were unconscious, he stayed outside your door for six whole days. If we hadn’t needed to change your medicine, he wouldn’t even have let us in. His temper isn’t good at all. You absolutely can’t be with him. If he can be fierce to others today, he can be fierce to you in the future. He’s nowhere near as gentle as us bird beastmen.”

Jin Chi’an, not understanding the situation at all, rubbed his neck. Feeling a chill gradually approaching, he asked back uneasily, “Have you misunderstood something? You and I only interacted that one day.”

“What misunderstanding!”

The white stork was so anxious that he almost jumped in place. Once again, he showed an unhappy expression.

“Only my mate can sit on my back. You already rode my beast form, and you still say we have no connection? You heartless man.”

As the white stork spoke, he began to whimper, unreasonably moving closer and closer to Jin Chi’an.

“I don’t care. Anyway, I’ve already chosen you.”

“Oh…”

A chill ran down Jin Chi’an’s back.

He turned his head and saw Felix standing there with a dark expression, murderous intent leaking out as he stared at the white stork, who had been so frightened that he reverted to his original form. Felix deliberately dragged out his tone.

“Chosen who?”

“S-S-Supreme Commander…”

The white stork was so frightened that he hurriedly backed away, flapping his wings as he tried to flee the scene.

“Looks like you know who I am.”

Felix clenched his fists, his gaze ruthless as he sized up the white stork.

“So, you didn’t know he’s married?”

“Married?”

The white stork immediately looked at Jin Chi’an in disappointment. For a moment, he even forgot about Felix’s murderous gaze.

“Chi’an, we white storks are monogamous, but if you’re already married, I can also—”

“Oh? You want to join us?”

Felix let out a cold snort and extended his beastified tiger claws.

Seeing that he had no intention of letting the other party off, Jin Chi’an helplessly sighed. He squeezed Felix’s soft paw pad and said gently, “All right, stop scaring him. I have nothing to do with him.”

“You rode his beast form…”

Felix restrained his killing intent and also put on a lost expression, lowering his head to look at Jin Chi’an beside him.

“I didn’t know Iskan’s customs at the time.”

“What about that harpy eagle, then? He already told me.”

Jin Chi’an remembered the scene at the burial ground, when he had climbed onto the harpy eagle’s back with Qin Hua. Guiltily, he rubbed Felix’s fluffy arm and leaned close to his ear, coaxing him quietly.

“All right, it won’t happen again. From now on, brother will only ride your beast form, okay?”

The warm breath from his words brushed against Felix’s ear, instantly reddening the tips of his ears. With a face full of reluctance, he turned his head away and stammered out an “Mm.”

After coaxing the white tiger, Jin Chi’an’s gaze fell again on the white stork across from them. The stork looked as if he had never seen the world before and had unconsciously retreated several dozen meters.

Only when he noticed Jin Chi’an looking at him did he come back to himself and laugh awkwardly.

“I-I-I didn’t know you two were married.”

“It’s fine. I was the one who borrowed your beast form without understanding things clearly back then and caused you to misunderstand. That was my fault.”

“No, no, no, no. It is my honor to serve the marshal’s wife. I wish you both a hundred years of happiness and many children soon.”

After saying this, the white stork tentatively glanced at Felix’s expression. Seeing that Felix was not looking at him, he took the opportunity to flap his wings and flee the scene.

Seeing this, Jin Chi’an could only laugh helplessly. He turned to look at the humanoid white tiger, who looked shy, and immediately had bad intentions. He raised his hand and rubbed the beast ears that had appeared because Felix lost control of his emotions.

“Stop being jealous, little tiger. That bird beastman isn’t better than you in any way. Not only does he not have paw pads or ears, even his feathers aren’t as smooth as your fur. I won’t like him.”

Hearing his words, a dark glint flashed through Felix’s eyes. Immediately afterward, he changed into his beast form and lay down at Jin Chi’an’s feet.

Understanding what he meant, Jin Chi’an hurriedly crouched down and used the white tiger’s enormous body to block the gazes of the people around them. He whispered, “Look, so many people are watching right now. Let’s go back to the room tonight, and I’ll ride you there, okay?”

The white tiger did not speak. He only used his firm gaze to protest. He raised a paw and hooked Jin Chi’an’s arm, indicating for him to sit on.

Seeing that he could not reason with him, Jin Chi’an inwardly cursed himself for making that promise too early. He could only brace himself and climb onto the tiger.

Under the gazes of the surrounding people, Jin Chi’an lowered his body and leaned close to the white tiger’s fluffy ear.

“Walk faster.”

Feeling the weight of the person on his back, Felix flicked his tail. From time to time, it lightly brushed over the back of Jin Chi’an’s foot. He raised his head and walked toward the command room.

Just as the two reached the entrance of the shuttle passage, they ran into Lin Chuan, who had just arrived at the medical level.

The embarrassment of running into an acquaintance made Jin Chi’an instantly jump down from the tiger. He was just about to explain when Lin Chuan, looking shocked, beat him to it.

“No, what are you two doing in broad daylight?”

Thinking of that, Lin Chuan’s face flushed red in an instant. He quietly scolded Jin Chi’an in great embarrassment, “Jin Chi’an, you’re seriously shameless. In broad daylight, you actually brought your nighttime games out into the open.”

Hearing this, Jin Chi’an immediately covered his mouth. His gaze shifted back and forth between Lin Chuan and the utterly confused white tiger as he hurriedly explained, “It’s not the adult game you’re imagining. Also, don’t mention these things in front of a child.”

“Child? If you hadn’t mentioned a child, I would’ve almost forgotten. Jin Chi’an, your brother-in-law told me everything. You really are a beast.”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Jin Chi’an glared at him, not taking the other party’s nonsense to heart at all.

“All right, say less.”

After saying that, Jin Chi’an pulled him and was about to board the shuttle passage again.

“No, what are you doing?”

Lin Chuan pushed his hand away. The two looked at each other in confusion.

Jin Chi’an asked back, “Didn’t you come to find me?”

“Jin Chi’an, I think you’ve lost your mind from dating.”

Lin Chuan snorted and rolled his eyes at him.

“I came to see Qin Hua. His stomach had a hole opened in it, and he almost died. Meanwhile, look at you—wife, child, warm bed. Hugging the big one, and even before passing out, you didn’t forget to hold a small one too.”

“Qin Hua?”

Jin Chi’an felt a little embarrassed. Not knowing where to put his hands, he could only hide them behind his back and unconsciously rub the tiger ears that had come near his hand.

“Then I’ll go take a look too.”

Under Lin Chuan’s somewhat disdainful stare, Jin Chi’an pushed away the fluffy creature that kept leaning into him and arrived outside Qin Hua’s hospital room.

“Awoo…”

A cry that was clearly very different from a wolf’s howl came from inside the room.

Lin Chuan pushed the door open and entered. Inside the not-very-spacious hospital room, a wolf-shaped mental body was standing on a harpy eagle’s back, letting out intermittent cries.

The giant harpy eagle’s spread wings were enough to occupy the entire room. Even though the height it was flying at was enough to make the wolf bump its head, one could tell from the cries that the wolf was currently having a wonderful time.

Because the flapping wings hit a nearby cabinet, several feathers fell onto Lin Chuan’s head.

Because of everything with Jin Chi’an, Lin Chuan, who had been holding it in the whole way, finally could not endure it anymore. He withdrew from the room and heavily shut the door, locking Jin Chi’an, who had not clearly seen the scene inside, outside as well.

A moment later, the room door opened from inside.

At this moment, Xi Lian had already changed back into human form and was tidying his slightly messy military uniform.

The serious expression on his face gave him a distinct charm at that moment. Paired with that proper military uniform, he looked especially restrained and ascetic.

Only when the door shielding the room was fully opened did he see the white tiger standing beside Jin Chi’an.

The surprise on Xi Lian’s face vanished in an instant. He then respectfully gave the other party a military salute.

“Marshal.”

Felix nodded and entered the room through the passage Xi Lian gave way to.

On the hospital bed, Qin Hua—whom Lin Chuan had described as being at death’s door—was leisurely eating apples carved into all kinds of shapes.
