The Interdimensional Reseller – CH188

Chapter 188

Chu Feng and Illya teleported to the capital and followed the tracker to the target location.

“Yangfan Group.”

Illya looked at his phone. “This is it. The tracker seems accurate.”

“I underestimated Hughes. He’s an ability-user after all—his learning speed is incredible. He already mastered this tech? But… did Sis come to the company?”

Illya shrugged. “Let’s go in and check.” The building had tilted from the quake and was heavily damaged. Who knew whether the people inside were safe.

“It’s on fire,” Illya said.

Chu Feng looked up at the 7th floor. The flames were intense, and many employees had fled upstairs.

At this rate, the fire could lead to a secondary collapse. Normally, they’d call the fire department, but the capital was in chaos, and the trucks were surely overwhelmed.

The elevators were unusable, and the emergency exits had collapsed. Many people were trapped inside.

Chu Feng teleported into the building, cut into the water pipes, and water gushed out, partially containing the flames.

“She’s in here?” Chu Feng asked.

Illya nodded. “Yes.”

Chu Feng slashed the door with a space blade. The twisted door was cut open.

Chu Feng pushed open the door and walked in. As he entered the conference room, his eyes scanned the surroundings.

Inside the office, several board members had gathered. A few of them were injured, but it didn’t seem life-threatening. One had been hit in the shoulder by a falling chandelier and was seriously hurt.

When the others saw Chu Feng, they were a little shocked.
“Chu Feng? What are you doing here?”

Everyone knew who Chu Feng was.

As he entered, a few people in the room turned to look at Zhuang Zhenyang.

Chu Feng frowned slightly, thinking to himself, The people in big companies sure are hardworking. There was a Red Moon incident just last night, and yet they’re still coming to work like usual today. Judging from the scene, they’re probably in the middle of a monthly summary meeting.

He glanced around the room and said, “She’s not here.”

Illya checked his phone and said, “The item’s over there.”

He pointed at Zhuang Zhenyang.

Chu Feng looked at the tracker on his phone and said coldly, “You took my sister’s necklace?”

Zhuang Zhenyang somehow felt as if Chu Feng was interrogating him.

“The gem on Feixue’s necklace seemed a bit special. I took it for appraisal.”

Chu Feng frowned. “It’s just a necklace. What’s there to appraise?”

Zhuang Zhenyang gave an awkward smile. He guessed there was probably a special tracker embedded in the necklace.

After the bee incident, Chu Feng might have felt uneasy and planted a tracker on it. It was just bad timing—he asked Feixue for the necklace yesterday, and now Chu Feng had come looking for it.

Chu Feng looked at him impatiently. “I can’t get through to my sister. Do you know where she is?”

Zhuang Zhenyang frowned. “Not really sure.”

Chu Feng’s expression darkened.

Zhuang Zhenyang added awkwardly, “Feixue’s probably filming somewhere.”

Chu Feng, clearly annoyed, said, “I’ll see you out.”

He escorted the board members out of the building and then left immediately.

*

As soon as Chu Feng left, the other board members surrounded Zhuang Zhenyang.

“President Zhuang, what kind of ability does your son have? It’s so strange!”

“Wasn’t he supposed to be a non-ability-user?”

“President Zhuang, your son is that vigilante, right? So he is the vigilante!”

“President Zhuang, what level is your son? I heard your daughter-in-law is an A-rank ability-user!”

In fact, many people had suspected that Chu Feng had powers. But after Shen Yuxing confirmed he was a non-ability-user, those suspicions were dismissed.

Now, Zhuang Zhenyang was completely baffled too.

He had always felt that something was off about Chu Feng, but assumed it was because of Illya, the ability-user by his side.

Just now, Chu Feng casually took a few of them to a safe zone—it had shocked him.

Zhuang Zhenyang tried calling both Zhuang Feixue and Zhuang Cheng, but neither answered. He was growing worried.

Chu Feng, not knowing Feixue’s whereabouts, didn’t search blindly.

Instead, he retrieved Manning from the other world and headed straight for the inner city.

“She’s nearby?” he asked.

Manning nodded. “Yes.”

Manning had been watching TV in the castle district when Chu Feng suddenly pulled him over. He was still a bit dazed.

Now back in the real world, Manning began to doubt whether this was even “the other side of the sea.” He had only been gone a few days, but everything seemed to have changed.

Seeing how serious Chu Feng and Illya were, he kept his questions to himself.

Chu Feng frowned. “This used to be the old district of the Capital. It was full of protected historical buildings, and now it looks like a remote mountain forest.”

Several large mountains had suddenly appeared in the inner city, increasing its size dozens of times over.

The original old district had been fractured and split apart by the new terrain.

“Look there,” said Illya.

Chu Feng looked up. A bird over a meter long, with beautiful wings, flew across the sky.

“That bird looks really fat.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Yeah.”

Such large birds had been rare in this area before.

Now, more and more huge, brightly-colored birds appeared, circling in the sky.

Chu Feng shook his head, thinking, To see this many birds flying around in a city once filled with skyscrapers is bizarre. But then again, the city didn’t look like it used to anymore.

He shook his head again. “Forget about the birds. Let’s find my sister first.”

Manning pointed east. “She’s over there.”

*

Chu Feng walked eastward and heard the howling of wolves.

He saw an old mansion with tightly shut doors and windows. It must have belonged to a high-ranking noble from a previous dynasty. Though old, it had clearly been repaired and was still sturdy.

Around the pavilion, seven or eight wolves over a meter tall were gathered. Some of them were ramming the doors and windows repeatedly.

“She’s probably in that room. The wolves are clearly trying to break in. The door is likely barricaded with furniture, but it won’t last long under this assault,” Chu Feng said.

“If the door breaks, she’ll be torn apart by the wolves,” Illya added.

Chu Feng shook his head. “Good thing we made it in time.”

Just then, one window gave in under the scratching and biting of a blue-gray wolf, leaving a large hole. A scream echoed from within.

Though panicked, the people inside weren’t just waiting to die. A stunt director picked up a chair and smashed it at the wolf’s head as it poked through the window. The blow made the wolf howl in pain and redouble its attack.

Chu Feng stepped forward, and the wolves that had been circling the house turned their attention to him and his companions.

Outside the mansion, Chu Feng calmly faced off against the wolves. Just recently, he had encountered a massive white serpent like a primordial beast—compared to that, these wolves were no more threatening than aggressive little terriers.

Manning swallowed nervously and cautiously asked, “Are those wolves trying to eat us?”

Illya nodded and said, “Seems like it. They look like they haven’t eaten in a long time.”

Tilting his head, Illya thought to himself: Starving beasts in winter look at prey exactly like this pack of blue wolves does now.

Manning’s legs went weak. Seeing how calm and composed Illya and Chu Feng were, he couldn’t help but feel a bit ashamed.

The wolves stared at them for a while. Finally, one couldn’t hold back and charged straight at Chu Feng.

Manning stood still behind Chu Feng. Chu Feng raised his hand, and with one swift motion, decapitated the charging blue wolf. It crashed to the ground with blood spilling everywhere.

The wolf’s head rolled several times on the ground. Chu Feng looked at it and thought: Now that’s more like it. Beasts with bodies as tough as giant serpents are rare. Most are still quite fragile.

The rest of the wolves, who had been eager to pounce moments ago, fell silent. Their aggressive growls turned into whimpers when they saw their fallen companion.

When Chu Feng’s gaze swept over them, the wolves scattered in panic.

Chu Feng stepped to the door, just about to open it, when he heard more wolf howls.

The wolves that had fled earlier returned, now standing at a distance, watching them closely.

The howls grew louder and more frequent, a chorus that made one’s heart race with fear.

Illya glanced at Chu Feng and said, “The pack is summoning reinforcements.”

Chu Feng gave a cold smile. “Doesn’t matter. No matter how many come, I’ll kill them all.” If they gathered like this, he could wipe them all out at once.

Manning pressed his lips together and said, “Judging by the sound, there must be over a hundred wolves.”

He took a deep breath. Though he knew of Chu Feng and Illya’s capabilities, the idea of facing over a hundred wolves still made his scalp tingle.

As more wolves gathered, they naturally formed two rows, as though welcoming a king.

Then, a massive blue wolf over three meters tall appeared before Chu Feng. It had a burly frame, and its eyes gleamed with bloodlust.

Its half-open mouth revealed teeth stained with fresh blood.

Illya frowned, suspecting the wolf had already eaten humans before arriving.

The giant wolf let out a roar, and Manning let out a muffled groan in response.

Chu Feng glanced at Manning. This head wolf wasn’t an ordinary beast—its roar carried a powerful impact. He and Illya, having used plenty of witch stones and taken spiritual medicine, were unfazed. But Manning, with his weaker constitution, had clearly been affected.

Thud. Chu Feng heard a crash inside the building—likely someone who had been secretly observing and got knocked down by the roar.

“Witch beast,” Illya said.

Chu Feng had already encountered a white serpent before. Although this wolf was over ten times the size of an average wolf, it still didn’t compare to that serpent.

The blue wolf looked down on Chu Feng, seemingly puzzled by why these humans weren’t running. Usually, when two-legged creatures saw him, they collapsed in fear and cried—before ending up in his stomach.

The wolf tilted its head back and howled, then bared its fangs in a show of dominance.

Chu Feng, unimpressed, casually waved his hand—thud—the wolf’s head dropped to the ground.

The rest of the pack, who had been ready to charge with their king, were thrown into disarray at the sight of its death. They scattered in panic.

If their earlier retreat could be called a “strategic withdrawal,” this time it was full-on flight.

Chu Feng flicked his fingers, sending out dozens of spatial blades in all directions.

Wolves struck by the blades were instantly sliced apart. Only a few escaped, and Chu Feng didn’t bother chasing them.

Manning looked at Chu Feng with eyes full of admiration.
