The Interdimensional Reseller – CH142

Two Girlfriends

Chapter 142: Two Girlfriends

“Boss,” Manning called out from afar, walking over and giving a respectful nod. Illya gave a slight nod in response.

Zhuang Cheng looked Manning up and down, intrigued.

Manning glanced at Zhuang Cheng, then started chattering away with Illya.

Standing to the side, Zhuang Cheng realized with some disappointment that he couldn’t understand a single word they were saying.

Foreigners? he thought to himself. Are they from… D-Nation? Doesn’t sound like it. Doesn’t seem like they’re from T-Nation either. Or A-Country. Where are they from? J-Kingdom or something?

Zhuang Cheng suddenly regretted not studying foreign languages better.

Just then, Chu Feng walked out from a nearby abandoned warehouse, clapping his hands.
Zhuang Cheng looked at him, puzzled. “You handled those guys already? What did you do with them?”

Chu Feng gave him a sidelong glance. “Why do you kids care so much? In this world, those guys didn’t even leave behind ashes.”

“I was just asking…” Zhuang Cheng mumbled. But he couldn’t help wondering—was disposing of bodies that easy? Even cremation takes time.

“Your power is amazing! Is it some kind of space blade? What’s up with your invisibility? I thought people could only have one ability?”

Chu Feng crossed his arms behind his back and lectured seriously, “At your age, you should focus on studying and improving yourself every day. Don’t worry about things that don’t concern you.” As an older brother, he felt it was his duty to give a little guidance.

Zhuang Cheng glared at him. “Study and self-improvement? You didn’t even go to college! I’ve ability-users superpowers—I can make tens of millions a year just by existing. Why should I bother studying?”

He lifted his chin. “If that’s your logic, then I’ve got even less reason. I’ll inherit family shares as soon as I’m out, and tens of millions a year is nothing.”

Chu Feng rolled his eyes. “Living off your family isn’t something to be proud of. Real ability is starting from scratch. If you don’t study, even if you inherit billions, you’ll lose it all eventually. Me? I can casually make tens of millions. Just like this time—I saved you and earned 50 million. Don’t even think about skipping out on that payment.”

Zhuang Cheng: “…”

Seeing Zhuang Cheng’s sour expression, Chu Feng added, “Why the long face? You’re not the one paying. Your dad will.”

Zhuang Cheng: “…Who are you calling old man, huh?”

“Oh right,” Chu Feng said, “what was that stone you had? That guy earlier seemed like he was threatening you for it.”

Zhuang Cheng bit his lip. “Not telling you.”

Chu Feng looked him up and down, warning, “You better speak up. That might be a Witch Stone—a rare treasure among superpowered folk. If you keep it on you, even if I send you home, you might get kidnapped again soon. On second thought, maybe that’s good—I could collect a few more bounties.”

Zhuang Cheng stared at him, dumbfounded. “You… you…”

Chu Feng scoffed, “What’re you staring at? Your family won’t give me any shares, so I’ll just earn through other means.”

Zhuang Cheng: “…”

Illya looked at Chu Feng and said, “Someone’s coming. Let’s get out of here.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Alright.”

He led Illya, Zhuang Cheng, and the others back to their usual villa. As soon as they landed, Zhuang Cheng felt dizzy.

Chu Feng glanced at him. “Your constitution is pathetic.”

Zhuang Cheng fumed and thought angrily: I’m injured, okay?! What a horrible brother—no care for the wounded at all!

Illya fetched some healing powder from a first-aid kit and patched up Zhuang Cheng’s wound.

Zhuang Cheng turned his head slightly. “Did you buy this villa after winning the lottery?”

Chu Feng gave him a side-eye. “You know a lot, huh?”

Zhuang Cheng gave an awkward laugh. At first, the Zhuang family had found out Chu Feng used to deliver packages. But later, his dad looked deeper and discovered that Chu Feng actually owned several properties and shops. Sure, property in smaller cities wasn’t worth as much as in the capital, but it wasn’t a small amount either.

“How did we get here so fast? Do you have teleportation powers?” Zhuang Cheng asked curiously.

Chu Feng furrowed his brows. “My ability is space-related.”

“Wow, that’s incredible. I’ve seen another superpowered guy, but his ability was nowhere near as cool as yours.”

Illya looked interested. “What kind of ability?”

“A house painter. My dad hired him to paint some walls.”

Chu Feng: “…The guy who could paint a whole wall in a day?”

“Yeah! He’s in high demand now. Never thought someone that talented would get picked up by my dad. The old man’s got skills after all.”

Just then, Manning’s stomach growled loudly. Chu Feng looked over, and Manning lowered his head in embarrassment. “I’m hungry…”

Chu Feng tossed him a phone. “Illya’s taught you how to order takeout, right? Go ahead. Order as much as you want.”

Manning nodded, a little excited. “I got it, I got it.”

The last time Manning came, Chu Feng had already learned quite a few skills. He looked at Zhuang Cheng and said, “Take a break. I’ll take you back in a bit. Once you’re back, don’t go blabbing.”

Zhuang Cheng held his head high. “If I don’t tell the truth, what do you expect me to say?”

Chu Feng replied casually, “Just say you encountered a chivalrous hero who saved you. The hero asked you to prepare fifty million in cash and deliver it to a designated location.”
Illya turned his head and added from the side, “Preferably unmarked Japanese yen.”

Chu Feng glanced at Illya, thinking to himself that he must’ve picked that line up from a TV show.
“Right, unmarked old bills would be best.”

Zhuang Cheng rolled his eyes. “Didn’t you say he was a hero? What kind of hero demands money?”

Chu Feng shook his head. “Even heroes need to eat. The old man’s stingy and won’t give me any shares, so I have to earn it with my own two hands. After going through all this trouble, you expect me to work for free?”
As he spoke, Chu Feng spread out his hands and examined them front and back. He could now be considered a reclusive master, and it wasn’t easy to hire someone like him to take action.

Zhuang Cheng rolled his eyes again and muttered to himself, “Where does Chu Feng even look hardworking?”

“I’m your younger brother!” Zhuang Cheng said indignantly.
“Even with blood ties, accounts should be settled clearly,” Chu Feng replied.

Zhuang Cheng: No wonder they’re a couple—they even speak in unison.
Chu Feng looked at Zhuang Cheng’s uncooperative expression and said meaningfully, “The economy’s been bad lately. Physical stores are in decline. Making money isn’t easy.”

Zhuang Cheng snapped, “It’s hard for other people to make money. You had my sister selling unlicensed products and earned over a billion!”

Chu Feng frowned. “You brat. All you see is the money people make, but you have no idea how hard it is to earn it. Do you know how far I had to travel to transport those elixirs?”

“How far could it even be?” Zhuang Cheng retorted with his neck stiffened.

“You wouldn’t understand even if I told you.” Chu Feng waved his hand dismissively.

Zhuang Cheng: “Well, if you don’t say anything, how am I supposed to understand?”
Seeing Zhuang Cheng unconvinced, Chu Feng shook his head and said with a mischievous grin, “Have you watched Hotel Romance?”

“I think I saw a bit of it. That stupid soap opera? Why are you bringing that up?”
Chu Feng shrugged. “Yeah, it’s a dumb show. But from a certain angle, it’s deeply educational. You should watch it again.”

Zhuang Cheng looked puzzled. “What kind of deep meaning could it possibly have?”

“There’s this older brother in it who killed his younger brother just to inherit a hotel.”

Chu Feng reached out and ruffled Zhuang Cheng’s blonde hair. “If you don’t behave, I’ll cut you up.”

As he spoke, he chopped the newly bought rosewood table clean in half.

Zhuang Cheng: “Was that a threat?! That’s going too far. I’m still a minor!”

He shrank his feet back, feeling a bit wronged. He’d always thought his brother was a bit mysterious—turns out he was just this kind of person.

Seeing that Chu Feng and Illya had no intention of paying him any mind, Zhuang Cheng turned his attention to Manning.

Manning, at least, was willing to interact with Zhuang Cheng and seemed quite respectful. But since they didn’t speak the same language, it was like a chicken talking to a duck—Zhuang Cheng couldn’t get any useful info from him.

Zhuang Cheng dug into the bag Chu Feng had brought and pulled out a detection device. Previously, the people who had captured Zhuang Cheng noticed it reacting and realized there had been an intruder.

Devices that can detect ability users are extremely rare on the market, and not many people know how to use them. Zhuang Cheng was very curious about ability users, and the Zhuang family was wealthy, so he had learned how to use one.

“Ah!” Zhuang Cheng cried out in surprise.

Illya walked over, frowning slightly. “What are you yelling about?”

“Ability users… could I be one too, and just not know it?” Zhuang Cheng said, visibly excited.
If he really was an ability-user, maybe he had some hidden power even he wasn’t aware of. After all, ability users were just starting to emerge, and many were said to have powers without realizing it.

“If only it were something cool, like lightning powers—that’d definitely be more badass than Chu Feng’s abilities.”

Illya rolled his eyes. “It’s not you. It’s Manning.”

Zhuang Cheng asked curiously, “He is? What’s his ability?”

Illya looked at Zhuang Cheng, who had the eager expression of a good student, and explained, “He can see people’s romantic connections. Manning, can you see if this guy has a girlfriend?”

Manning held up two fingers and said something in gibberish.

Illya glanced at Zhuang Cheng. “You have two girlfriends. Can’t make up your mind, huh?”

Zhuang Cheng’s face flushed bright red. “I—I don’t have any!”
He did have crushes on two girls, but he hadn’t confessed to either.

Illya gave him a disapproving look. “Playboy.”

Manning waved his fingers again and made more gestures. Illya frowned but didn’t say anything.

“What did he say?” Zhuang Cheng asked curiously.

Illya glanced at him and said, “You really want to know?”

Zhuang Cheng, not backing down, replied, “How would you know if I want to know or not unless you tell me?”

Illya pursed her lips. “If you insist, I’ll tell you. Manning said that although you like two people, you haven’t slept with either of them.”

Zhuang Cheng turned his face away, cheeks burning. He was still a minor! Talking about sleeping with someone was way too early for him.

Seeing his reaction, Illya comforted him, “You’re still young. That kind of thing can wait.”

“Besides romantic connections,” Illya continued, “Manning can also see family ties.”

“Family ties?”

Illya nodded. “When he looks at you, he can see where your dad, your mom, and your sister are. That’s how Chu Feng found you—by using Manning’s ability.”

Zhuang Cheng frowned. “That’s such an amazing power.”

Why would someone like that choose to follow Chu Feng?
I wonder how much my second brother paid him—maybe I could try to poach him?

Zhuang Cheng looked at Manning and blinked. He had a faint feeling that he was overlooking something…

Chu Feng came down from upstairs and asked, “What are you two talking about?”

Illya looked up and pointed at Zhuang Cheng, saying, “He has two girlfriends.”

Chu Feng glanced at Zhuang Cheng with disdain and said, “Scumbag. No wonder people say that big families are a mess. The young masters of those wealthy families are all trash.”

Zhuang Cheng said a little agitatedly, “You’re my brother! We’re the same!”

Chu Feng rolled his eyes and said, “How could I possibly be the same as you? I didn’t grow up in a chaotic, toxic rich family. I built everything with my own hands and rely on myself. I’m completely devoted to Illya.”

Zhuang Cheng looked in disdain: …Is it really okay to praise yourself so righteously?
