Chapter 2: F-Forced Love???
The driver and bodyguard instantly sat up straight, staring rigidly ahead. Only their ears quietly perked up, straining to catch every sound from the back seat.
“Cen Miao, what are you doing?” Qin Zelin abruptly leaned away, his fingertips trembling as he accidentally sent a string of garbled letters.
“You smell nice. I like smelling you.”
As Cen Miao spoke, he instinctively leaned closer to sniff him again, only for Qin Zelin to raise a hand and gently stop him.
“I can’t smell you?” Cen Miao remembered his caretaker daddy saying that he had to ask permission before touching other people’s things. After a pause, he asked seriously, “Is it because… I didn’t ask first? I was rude?”
“I’m sorry. I… was wrong.”
Qin Zelin silently studied Cen Miao for a moment, his gaze probing as he tried to discern something from the other man’s expression.
However, the person before him merely stared back with a pair of watery, crystal-clear eyes. His gaze was so pure that even entertaining such suspicions felt like a desecration.
If his grandfather’s illness hadn’t left him with roughly six months to live, Qin Zelin would never have agreed to this troublesome engagement.
He lowered his eyes slightly.
It would be best if Cen Miao… didn’t fall in love with him. Qin Zelin had no desire whatsoever to waste time maintaining a marriage.
A WeChat notification sounded. On the other end, Assistant Fang had stared at the incomprehensible message for a long time but still couldn’t figure out what his boss meant, so he hesitantly sent back a question.
“It’s fine. Sit properly.” Qin Zelin turned his attention back to his phone. After briefly replying to the message, he instructed the driver, “Go to the marriage registration office.”
The driver and bodyguard exchanged glances.
“!!!”
Their workaholic iceberg of a boss was actually getting married!!!
Then again, this young man was absurdly beautiful and knew how to act cute. No wonder their icy boss had fallen for him!
“Yes, President Qin!”
Along the way, Cen Miao pressed both hands against the car window and curiously watched the streets outside.
There were no zombies, no ruined buildings, and plenty of supplies.
This place was amazing!
He had to be careful. He couldn’t let anyone discover that he wasn’t the original owner of this body!
Cen Miao shifted in his seat. This car was much more comfortable than his caretaker daddy’s car. It would have been wonderful if his caretaker daddy and Maomao could have come here too!
Once he had seen enough of the streets outside, he turned his head and secretly began studying Qin Zelin.
This human looked so fierce.
But he had given Cen Miao his portion of meat, and he smelled really nice too.
Qin Zelin was reading work emails on his phone. Sensing Cen Miao’s gaze, his fingers paused slightly.
“What is it?”
“Can I… smell you again?” Cen Miao blinked and looked at Qin Zelin expectantly.
He was being so polite this time. Surely Qin Zelin would agree.
Qin Zelin: “…No.”
Cen Miao pursed his lips and softly said, “Oh.”
He turned back toward the window, the little tuft of hair sticking up at the back of his head swaying gently.
What a stingy human.
He had been so polite, but Qin Zelin still wouldn’t let him.
Hmph.
The driver: “…”
He! Was! So! Cute!
What was wrong with letting him have a sniff?!
Watching Cen Miao turn away in a huff, Qin Zelin felt that this little monster didn’t seem to understand what a contractual marriage meant.
Apart from giving Cen Miao financial compensation after their divorce, Qin Zelin didn’t believe he had any obligation to satisfy his additional requests.
Considering that the driver and bodyguard were present, Qin Zelin decided that once they were alone, he would make it clear again that theirs was only a contractual marriage and involved nothing else.
Inside the marriage registration office, several staff members were chatting quietly when they turned and saw two strikingly handsome men walk in.
One had deep-set features, a cold expression, and an intimidating presence. The other was delicate and beautiful, with slightly curly hair that made him look like a doll. However, his lips were pursed, and he looked thoroughly unhappy.
“?”
Were they here to get divorced?
With faces like theirs, shouldn’t merely looking at each other during an argument be enough to calm them down?
Could one of them have committed some unforgivable mistake?
Had someone cheated?
“Hello. We’re here to register our marriage,” Qin Zelin said calmly.
“!!!”
Star-crossed lovers! Forced love!
Childhood sweethearts separated by a feud between their families???
The female staff members rapidly exchanged glances. In their minds, they had already finished an entire forced-love novel.
Baby, you think you can escape?
I’ll keep you tied to my side forever!
Why did my good little darling run away again? Naughty children have to be locked up~
No! They had to save this doll!
Qin Zelin frowned slightly when none of the staff members responded.
“Hello?”
“Ah, yes! Please fill out these forms first.” One of the staff members hurriedly replied, then waved Cen Miao over. “Handsome, come with me and fill yours out over there.”
“Handsome, are you marrying him of your own free will?” After leading Cen Miao aside, the staff member leaned closer and whispered.
Cen Miao, who had no idea what marriage was, nodded in confusion.
The two staff members exchanged a glance.
Staff Member A: Did you see that? He hesitated!
Staff Member B: I saw! He must be too frightened to speak!
“Don’t be afraid. Big Sister is here! You can bravely tell us the truth! Otherwise, once you register your marriage, he’ll legally be able to keep you by his side forever!”
And torment you!
Cen Miao blinked and asked softly, “If I stay… by his side forever, will he give me… food?”
Staff Member A: “…”
Staff Member B: “…”
“Uh… He’ll definitely have to feed you.” After all, forced love was still love.
Maybe if you went on a hunger strike, he would even force you to eat!
Cen Miao’s eyes lit up.
Wouldn’t that mean Qin Zelin would be like his caretaker daddy and keep giving him food?
Remembering the fragrant meat he had just eaten, Cen Miao couldn’t help swallowing.
Half an hour later—
When the two of them walked out of the marriage registration office, Cen Miao had somehow become a married man. He had also begun regarding Qin Zelin as his new caretaker and followed closely behind him every step of the way.
Qin Zelin: “…”
“Give me your phone. I’ll send you the address later. Once you’ve packed your luggage, you can move in directly.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Cen Miao remove his backpack again, unzip it, and lower his head to search through it.
“?”
Two minutes later, Qin Zelin expressionlessly stared at the object Cen Miao had placed in his hand…
Cen Miao’s phone.
The corner of his eye twitched.
“…”
What was the meaning of this?
Did Cen Miao not want to speak to him?
Was it just because Qin Zelin hadn’t allowed him to sniff him in the car?
Cen Miao had probably only learned about this engagement after his grandfather’s people notified him to come meet Qin Zelin. They had only met once, yet Cen Miao was already using the excuse of smelling him to get closer?
He wouldn’t cry and make a scene when it came time to divorce, would he?
Tsk…
What a hassle.
Cen Miao stared at the human with question marks practically floating above his head.
Hadn’t he asked for the phone? Why was he still unhappy after Cen Miao gave it to him?
Qin Zelin took a deep breath and lit up the screen.
“What’s the password?”
As soon as he spoke, a fluffy head leaned against his chest.
“…”
He was… getting this close again.
Just as expected.
Recalling how the original owner had unlocked the phone, Cen Miao extended his index finger and slowly tapped several numbers.
Qin Zelin’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He quickly used Cen Miao’s phone to call his own number.
“I’m going back to the company first.” Qin Zelin handed the phone back to Cen Miao. “I’ll contact you later.”
With that, he opened the car door and was just about to get inside when he felt someone tug on the hem of his clothes.
“?”
