Quick Transmigration: I Transmigrated as a Scumbag but Became a Heartthrob – CH95

Transmigrated as a Fraudulent Male Streamer (19)

Chapter 95: Transmigrated as a Fraudulent Male Streamer (19)

“Who are you talking about?” Cen Yu played dumb.

“You know who,” He Yongning said. Since Cen Yu didn’t say the name, he didn’t name it either, the two of them playing a game of riddles face-to-face.

Cen Yu didn’t mind. Riddles it was—either way, both of them knew exactly who they were talking about. “What makes you think that?”

He looked at He Yongning, wondering if this main character had noticed something… Cen Yu had naturally sensed that something was off about Pei Hengyun as well, but he still had to wait for more clues to verify it.

As for He Yongning?

He looked at him suspiciously. “Did you find some kind of clue?”

“No clues,” He Yongning said.

He wasn’t lying. It was just that back in the classroom earlier, the moment he looked down at his desk, the person that surfaced in his memory… wasn’t Pei Hengyun.
Although he still couldn’t remember what his desk partner had actually looked like, he remembered that somewhat cynical, frivolous attitude. That feeling inexplicably reminded him of Cen Yu… He Yongning had always known he himself was rigid and methodical to a fault, like a robot. In his daily life, what he disliked most were people who seemed carefree and careless, making every word sound like a flirty joke.

Yet Cen Yu was just too good-looking. Even if he were merely telling you something serious with a smile, you would be left with the illusion that he might be teasing you.

He Yongning clearly knew he detested people like this the most, yet in his heart, he found it impossible to harbor any genuine dislike for Cen Yu. The feeling was as if he knew Cen Yu was born this way, that he was simply meant to be like this.

In fact, the moment he stared at the two tear-moles beneath Cen Yu’s eye just now, a feeling… bordering almost on nostalgia inexplicably bloomed in his chest.

It was an empty, lingering feeling—much like when, years after graduation, a random high school memory suddenly popped into your head on a quiet afternoon. Your whole being was transported back to that exact moment ten years ago, even while you knew deep down that time had long since passed.

Since he was already certain that the desk partner in his memory wasn’t Pei Hengyun, he had deliberately probed the man earlier to see if he would slip up. He hadn’t expected Pei Hengyun to be even craftier than he imagined…

Going so far as to injure his own foot just to ruin the purpose of his test.

The cigarette in He Yongning’s hand had burned down to the filter. He threw another glance at that bathroom shed—the very place Cen Yu had claimed was haunted yesterday afternoon…

“You know that wasn’t fake,” He Yongning said, staring at the bathroom shed.

Though the line came somewhat out of nowhere, Cen Yu followed his line of sight and instantly grasped his meaning.

How could he possibly admit to it, though? He played dumb again. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

In truth, He Yongning didn’t quite understand Cen Yu’s avoidant attitude. He had watched Cen Yu’s stream himself; although the camera had shaken violently, the thing that appeared beside the dummy… had definitely not looked like a living human.

He didn’t believe Cen Yu couldn’t tell. He just didn’t know whether Cen Yu was deliberately dodging the topic or if there was some other reason.

He Yongning gave a nod and stopped pressing Cen Yu, turning back toward the living room instead.

“…?” What’s up with him, mad?

Cen Yu watched He Yongning’s receding back, assuming his flat denial had made the man feel there was no point in continuing the conversation… Just as he was preparing to go wander around somewhere else, he saw He Yongning walk back out carrying an ashtray.

“…” Cen Yu looked at He Yongning with a subtle expression as the man held out the ashtray in front of him.

“Th-thanks?” Cen Yu offered uncertainly, stubbing out his cigarette butt inside the ashtray He Yongning held out.

He Yongning gave a reserved nod, then carried the ashtray back inside the living room. A moment later, he walked out once more. Just as Cen Yu was wondering what on earth he was doing going back and forth like this, he heard He Yongning ask him—

“Want to go take a look at my house?”

He Yongning’s house?

Cen Yu froze for a second. He remembered what had been said earlier: He Yongning’s house had been abandoned for a long time due to lack of inhabitants.

Just this morning, He Yongning had mentioned he would go back to check it out when he had time. Who would have thought he’d already made up his mind by the afternoon?

Cen Yu carefully scrutinized He Yongning’s attire, noticing that the man indeed had changed into a new set of clothes after coming back—a outfit far better suited for physical activity.

As for himself, he was already wearing beach shorts and sneakers, perfectly dressed for moving around too.

Could it be that the moment He Yongning returned to Jiang Tuan’s place, he had been planning to head over to his old family home?

A flurry of thoughts crossed Cen Yu’s mind, but he immediately nodded. “I’ll go with you.”

He patted his pockets—one side held his phone, while the other held his cigarettes and the small change left over from buying them… but it felt like something was missing.

Cen Yu’s gaze swept around Jiang Tuan’s courtyard a few times, finally spotting a claw hammer resting in a corner. Without a second thought, he marched over, grabbed it straight into his hand, then turned back to He Yongning—

“I’m ready, shall we go?”

He Yongning looked at Cen Yu with a peculiar expression, looking for all the world as though he had finally realized this guy wasn’t from Earth.

After holding it in for a long time, he still suppressed his curiosity, refraining from asking why the guy felt the need to bring a hammer to visit his family’s old home.

Just as the two were preparing to leave, Cen Yu suddenly seemed to sense something and looked up immediately.

There, through an open window on the third floor, he saw Pei Hengyun leaning over the sill, watching them… He hadn’t said a word, merely gazing quietly at their movements, as if he wouldn’t have made a single sound had Cen Yu not happened to look up at that exact moment.

Having changed into loungewear, Pei Hengyun looked considerably thinner and frailer.

He naturally carried a soft, gentle artistic aura, but if anyone had been inside the third-floor room right now, they would likely have discovered that his fingers were already digging deep into the wall beside him.

Pei Hengyun watched Cen Yu quietly, a smile splashing back across his face only at the moment the man spotted him.

“Are you two heading out?” Pei Hengyun’s voice wasn’t loud, but Cen Yu heard it clearly.

“The two of us are going out for a stroll,” Cen Yu pointed to himself and He Yongning.

“Rest up properly at home.”

“Okay,” Pei Hengyun replied with a sweet smile, but out of Cen Yu’s line of sight, his fingers sank deep into the wall.

He glared at He Yongning with a dark, almost somber gaze, yet remained momentarily helpless to do anything about it.
