Quick Transmigration: I Transmigrated as a Scumbag but Became a Heartthrob – CH94

Transmigrated as a Fraudulent Male Streamer (18)

Chapter 94: Transmigrated as a Fraudulent Male Streamer (18)

Fortunately, there was nothing majorly wrong with Pei Hengyun’s ankle. Ice packs followed by a few days of quiet rest would suffice.

The reason he looked so thoroughly terrified was likely purely because he had been frightened by whatever was in the mirror… He Yongning arrived a little later, so Jiang Tuan and Yu Sheng asked how someone could suddenly tumble down the stairs like that.

He Yongning had clearly been standing right in front of the mirror as well, yet he hadn’t seen a single thing.

All he saw was the sudden, drastic change in expression on Cen Yu and Pei Hengyun’s faces, as if they had witnessed something extraordinarily horrifying in the reflection. Yet when he turned his head to look, everything was completely normal.

He pondered for a moment before deciding to tell them the truth.

Upon hearing his account, Yu Sheng immediately let out a sigh. He didn’t bother asking what those two had actually seen—after all, it boiled down to those “unmentionable things.”

“…It’s better if you don’t visit that teaching building in the future.”

Cen Yu instantly picked up on something. “Did something happen there before?”

“Not exactly.” Yu Sheng looked at Cen Yu. “I only found out after I became a teacher later on…”

“I heard that before the school was built, there was a large ancient tomb underneath that teaching building.”

“The tomb belonged to the young son of a wealthy family… but he passed away very early, probably in his early twenties.” Yu Sheng seemed to be mulling over the rumors surrounding the ground beneath the teaching building. “You know how students occasionally love to play spooky games for fun.”

“Supposedly, as long as you call out this person’s name, whether it’s Spirit of the Pen or any other occult game, you can summon him forth and have your wish granted.”

Reaching this point, Yu Sheng immediately scanned the expressions of the others. Seeing Pei Hengyun looking as though he were about to faint from fright, he offered an apologetic, awkward smile. “Did I scare you guys?”

“Though it’s really just a urban legend. No one has ever actually seen him.”

Cen Yu looked at Yu Sheng, then exchanged a glance with He Yongning, noticing that Jiang Tuan was also lost in deep thought… Perhaps sensing something amiss from the group’s silence, Yu Sheng looked at them in confusion. “Why isn’t anyone saying anything?”

“Did you forget?” Jiang Tuan couldn’t resist speaking up. “We played that game back in high school during winter break too.”

He cast another glance at Pei Hengyun, who had his head lowered, and then met eyes with He Yongning. Seeing the affirmation in He Yongning’s gaze, he grew even more certain that his memory hadn’t played tricks on him. “We clearly played it back then, so why do you look like you don’t remember a thing?”

Jiang Tuan’s words plunged Yu Sheng into deep contemplation.

He scrutinized both Jiang Tuan and He Yongning, before turning his eyes to the still-terrified Pei Hengyun. “Really?”

Aside from Pei Hengyun, who was still dazed, both He Yongning and Jiang Tuan nodded.

Now, the bewildered expression on Yu Sheng’s face was entirely genuine.

“…But I have zero recollection of it…”

Seeing Yu Sheng’s state, Cen Yu grew increasingly certain of one thing: ten years ago, something definitely transpired at Meiman High School. Perhaps it was precisely because of that game that the so-called “ghost” had been summoned out into the world.

“So when you guys played that game back then, was it to summon that… young master?” Cen Yu asked.

Unsure of which era the tomb belonged to, he simply substituted the title “young master.”

The moment those words left his mouth, to say nothing of Yu Sheng, who was already utterly baffled, both He Yongning and Jiang Tuan fell silent as well. The two shook their heads almost in unison, appearing completely unable to recall why they had played that game in the first place.

Cen Yu immediately shifted his gaze to Pei Hengyun, who was sitting to the side.

“Do you remember?” he asked Pei Hengyun.

Pei Hengyun looked up at Cen Yu right then. The corners of his eyes were still somewhat red, looking as though he had just wept. Staring fixedly at Cen Yu’s face, he murmured, “Maybe it was to grant a wish.”

Tsk. It seemed whatever entity was summoned by that game was the critical key.

Cen Yu thought to himself, then asked the three participants, “What about his name then?”

“Since you wanted to summon this young master back then, you must at least remember his name, right?”

Unexpectedly, all three remained completely clueless. Yet as Yu Sheng racked his brain frantically, he managed to dig out a tiny fragment of memory regarding this “young master’s” identity.

“Although I can’t remember the details back then clearly,” Yu Sheng said after organizing his thoughts, “I still remember how the students who played the game referred to him.”

“How did they address him?” Cen Yu pressed hurriedly.

“Young Master Xinyu,” Yu Sheng answered with certainty. “They said this young master’s nickname was Xinyu.”

“…Xinyu,” Cen Yu muttered softly under his breath.

As he repeated the name, his mind inevitably drifted to the big-spending viewer “Little Yu” who had suddenly popped up in his live stream that day… Could there truly be such a incredible coincidence in this world?

“Little Yu” clearly knew that the haunted house contained a ghost, yet what was his motive for telling Cen Yu to go inside?

Could it be that he wanted to harm him?

Mulling it over, Cen Yu felt that wasn’t the case. After all, according to the original plot, regardless of whether Little Yu appeared or not, Cen Yu as a streamer would have entered that haunted house anyway.

Furthermore, in the original text, Cen Yu didn’t die until the fourth night, proving that before the plot-mandated death officially kicked off, no fatal accidents would happen to him.

Then what on earth did this mean?

Cen Yu looked back at Yu Sheng. “Do you guys know what Xinyu’s real full name is?”

Yu Sheng shook his head. “Though I’ve heard a bit of a rumor.”

“What rumor?”

“I heard that anyone who learns Xinyu’s real name will be haunted by him.” Yu Sheng looked around at the people inside the medical clinic.

It was precisely because the doctor had stepped out to fetch supplies earlier that they had been able to freely discuss the real reason behind Pei Hengyun’s sudden tumble down the stairs.

Right on cue, the doctor who had just left returned. After dressing Pei Hengyun’s injuries and instructing him on a few precautions, he signaled that they were free to head back.

Once Pei Hengyun was settled in, Cen Yu stepped out into the courtyard, gazing at the solitary bathroom shed.

Standing there, he pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and lit another one… A moment later, he caught the sound of approaching footsteps—neither fast nor slow. Turning his head, he found that it was indeed He Yongning as expected.

The man truly seemed to be a serious germaphobe, having changed into yet another fresh set of clothes.

Seeing Cen Yu smoking over there, He Yongning thought for a moment before speaking up, “Give me one.”

Cen Yu held the cigarette between his lips, looking at him. “Can’t CEO He say ‘please’?”

He Yongning made an apologetic gesture, then rephrased his request, “Could I please trouble you for a cigarette, Mr. Cen?”

Cen Yu raised an eyebrow at him, passing the cigarette pack over from his pocket. Once He Yongning pulled one out, Cen Yu casually tossed his lighter over to him as well.

He had originally assumed that with He Yongning’s severe germaphobe persona, the man wouldn’t touch alcohol or tobacco. Yet watching the way he lit the cigarette and his fluid motion while smoking, Cen Yu instantly judged that he was a seasoned smoker—undoubtedly smoking far more heavily than himself.

Cen Yu’s eyes curved into a slight smile, softening his usually cold aura. “Who would’ve guessed, CEO He?”

“Turns out you indulge in both smoking and drinking in private.” He couldn’t resist poking fun at him.

He Yongning paid no mind to Cen Yu’s teasing. He first threw a glance at the bathroom shed, then, through the thin wisps of rising smoke, let his gaze rest on the side of Cen Yu’s face, staring intently at the two tear-moles beneath Cen Yu’s eye.

Taking a deep drag of his cigarette, he exhaled a cloud of smoke before replying to Cen Yu, “It was unavoidable during business entertainments in the past.”

He answered Cen Yu’s banter in a frank, open manner, before voicing the question weighing heavily on his mind—

“Do you truly think he is normal?”
