Chapter 42
With a bang, the dorm door slammed shut.
Yu Chen’s heart gave a little tremble. He secretly peered through the crack in the door, his gaze hurriedly chasing after He Zhen.
Why had his boss suddenly gotten angry?
Could it be some hormonal imbalance? Or had someone ticked him off?
Watching Yu Chen act like a little thief, Lin Jiashu organized his luggage while curiously sizing him up. “That’s the brother you were talking about?”
“Mm.” Yu Chen was still sticking his butt out, sneaking glances outside.
He Zhen had already turned toward the washroom, probably dealing with one of those urgent bodily matters.
“Your brother’s pretty handsome.”
Lin Jiashu took the initiative to greet the other roommates and shared the snacks he had brought with everyone. High school military training was harsh, but at least snacks were not restricted. The little store next door was also well stocked, with almost everything you could want.
Liu Chong pulled a few fresh, crisp radishes out of his backpack and scratched his head as he offered them around. “Anyone thirsty? These radishes are really sweet.”
Yu Chen looked like someone who had never seen the world. “Radishes can actually be sweet?” In his mind, there were only white radishes and carrots. Carrots were the worst, and white radishes were not much better.
“Mm, these are called fruit radishes.” Liu Chong handed him two. “One for you and one for He Zhen.”
“Thanks, class monitor.” Yu Chen lifted his fair little face and smiled brightly. “I’ll go bring Boss his.”
With that, he ran out excitedly, carrying the radishes.
Chen Ru was on the top bunk and frowned as he leaned over the bed rail. “Where’d he go looking for He Zhen?”
Liu Chong said, “Probably the bathroom.”
Inside the washroom, it was empty, not a single person in sight.
Holding the radishes, Yu Chen called out, “Boss?”
His voice echoed around the room, but there was still no reply.
Just then, a toilet stall door further inside opened.
Yu Chen crept over in a sneaky way, only to find that side empty too.
He lowered his voice and asked, “Boss? Is that you?”
From the very last stall came a faint sound.
Yu Chen shuffled closer, and in the air, he caught the scent of He Zhen’s shampoo.
“Boss, I know it’s you.”
Suddenly crouching down, Yu Chen bent at the waist and stretched out his neck. Sure enough, he saw those familiar sneakers.
“Boss, I brought you a radish.”
“Do you want it?”
Two seconds later, He Zhen’s voice sounded from inside.
“Yu Chencheng, is this really how you deliver something?”
Crouching outside the stall, Yu Chen said in an irritatingly cheeky tone, “If you eat radish while pooping, it helps ventilation.”
With a bang, the stall door was pushed open. He Zhen swept Yu Chen a blank expressionless glance.
Yu Chen shakily held out the radish to him. “Boss, do you want it?”
He Zhen ignored him and walked off by himself.
“Boss.” Yu Chen suddenly called after him.
He Zhen stopped. “What?”
Yu Chen asked with concern, “Did you flush?”
He Zhen pressed his lips together and strode off without another word.
Yu Chen silently flushed for him, then stared at the empty toilet pit and murmured, “Has Boss been constipated lately or something?”
Back in the dorm, everything was more or less packed up.
Military training officially started at two in the afternoon, and they had been given three hours for lunch and buying daily supplies.
When Yu Chen returned to the dorm, he looked at the clean, tidy beds, then glanced at He Zhen, who was lying alone on the top bunk resting. Climbing up the ladder, he quietly crawled up.
He Zhen was covered with a thin blanket and naturally noticed the disturbance by the bed.
He did not open his eyes. He simply let Yu Chen wriggle into the blanket like a little earthworm.
Lin Jiashu was resting too. Seeing how the blanket over He Zhen had been puffed up suspiciously full, he curiously studied the two “brothers.”
At that moment, the entire blanket was filled with the scent of Yu Chen’s perfume.
He Zhen’s brows slowly drew together. The smell made his chest feel inexplicably stifled.
Under the blanket, Yu Chen’s shoulders were slightly hunched. His smooth black short hair had been dampened by a thin layer of sweat, and with his body heat rising, the perfume behind his ears evaporated more quickly, leaving a faint green citrus scent in the air around them.
At last, he leaned close to He Zhen’s ear, his soft red lips accidentally brushing against the rim of He Zhen’s ear.
He Zhen’s eyes snapped open.
At his ear, Yu Chen whispered gently, “Boss, do you need me to buy you an enema?”
A trace of coldness suddenly gathered in He Zhen’s eyes. He raised his hand and pinched Yu Chen’s soft cheek hard.
Yu Chen let out a delicate little complaint, while his long leg casually hooked over He Zhen’s waist. “You’re unreasonable. I was trying to buy you an enema, and you’re pinching me instead.”
He Zhen let go and began wondering whether he had used too much force and hurt Yu Chen.
Yu Chen’s pampered little habits immediately came spilling out. His mouth started up at once, accusing He Zhen nonstop. “I gave you a radish and you wouldn’t eat it. And you ignored me too.” The more he said, the more he ended with a little huff, then rolled over with the blanket and turned his back on He Zhen in open protest.
He Zhen’s brows froze for a second, and he stayed silent for a long time.
Looking at Yu Chen’s small earlobe, he leaned over and carefully tucked the stray hair covering Yu Chen’s forehead behind his ear with his slender fingers.
He was not a person who was good at self-reflection, but at this moment, he began regretting how strongly he had reacted.
He did not even know what had come over him just now. The moment he saw Lin Jiashu spraying perfume on Yu Chen, it had felt as though his heart had been scorched by fire, and he simply could not control his emotions.
“I’m sorry, Yu Chen.”
He Zhen’s voice was low. “It’s not that I didn’t want to talk to you.”
“Was it because you couldn’t poop?” Yu Chen finally responded. Curling up his long legs, his slight little body arched as he turned back and leaned against He Zhen’s chest. “You need to eat more vegetables, then you won’t get constipated.”
“Mm.” He Zhen freed one hand and hesitated for a long while before wrapping it around Yu Chen’s slim waist and drawing him a little closer.
“The bed is too small.”
Those four words carried a trace of guilt.
As though he were trying to explain what had happened just now.
“It’s not that bad.” Yu Chen did not mind the heat and stayed wrapped under the blanket. “Boss, the perfume Lin Jiashu sprayed on me smells really good. I think it suits you too, so I wanted to buy it for you.”
“Really? What kind of scent?” The look in He Zhen’s eyes was unreadable. Though he already knew, he deliberately asked anyway as he leaned toward the small hollow of Yu Chen’s neck. “Don’t you like it?”
“I think it’s okay. I only asked for the perfume name because I wanted to give it to you.” Yu Chen pointed behind his ear. “Here, smell it. If you like it, I’ll buy it for you.”
To cooperate with He Zhen, Yu Chen pressed himself against He Zhen’s waist and abdomen and gently rubbed forward. Like a soft little glutinous rice dumpling nestled in He Zhen’s arms, he tilted up his fluffy little face as though offering himself up for inspection.
He Zhen’s long legs shifted awkwardly. His nose brushed against Yu Chen’s ear. In an instant, his breathing filled with the fresh scent of sea salt and mist, and even a sweet grapefruit note floated into it.
“Does it smell good?”
The grapefruit scent came from Yu Chen’s body wash, and mixed together, the smell was very distinctive.
Yu Chen had stayed up late last night and was already getting sleepy now. “Boss, if you like it, I’ll buy it for you.”
He Zhen gave a quiet “mm” and held Yu Chen gently, as though in this noisy summer he had suddenly been soothed, like he had found a private sea breeze that belonged to him alone.
Somewhere in the dorm, someone turned on the air conditioner, and a wave of cool air rushed over them. Hidden under the blanket, Yu Chen felt so comfortable that he narrowed his eyes and gestured for He Zhen to pull the blanket tighter around him.
“Boss, I’m gonna sleep for a bit.” Yu Chen found a comfortable position in He Zhen’s arms and fell asleep almost immediately.
Yu Chen had one sleeping habit. He liked to drape his leg over He Zhen’s lower stomach. Back in kindergarten, that whole chubby little leg used to swing there while he drifted off to sleep, and sometimes he even needed He Zhen to knead it for him. Though some of those old habits were gone now, plenty of new ones had appeared in their place.
For example, he now needed He Zhen to stroke his hair to lull him to sleep.
The other roommates noticed Yu Chen had fallen asleep, so they intentionally lowered their voices when talking.
He Zhen’s gaze landed on Yu Chen’s small Adam’s apple.
At some point, Yu Chen had formally entered puberty. He had suddenly started growing, and compared to middle school, his features had opened up noticeably, becoming deeper, prettier, and more striking—like some little celestial being straight out of a New Year painting.
Whenever He Zhen took Yu Chen out somewhere, strangers often secretly snapped photos of him, and talent agents had even handed over business cards before.
As He Zhen lightly toyed with Yu Chen’s hair, his thoughts drifted back to the first year of middle school. Yu Chen should still remember the promise that they were going to get married when they grew up, right…
The more Yu Chen matured, the more He Zhen worried that one day Yu Chen would say those words had only been a joke, and that he alone had taken them seriously.
The whistle for military training sounded, and Yu Chen rolled over and sat up all at once, his fair cheeks flushed pink, with the silly little tuft of hair on top of his head sticking up wildly.
“Hurry up and get dressed.”
He Zhen had already straightened his own belt. To avoid wasting time, he simply lifted the still half-asleep Yu Chen straight off the top bunk and bent over to help him fix his camouflage uniform.
Yu Chen had not yet fully woken from his drowsiness. Yawning, he obediently sat there with his hands on his knees in a daze.
He Zhen seemed as though he had long expected Yu Chen to be like this. Without wasting words, he changed Yu Chen’s jacket for him in a few quick moves and tightened the belt at the same time. “You put your pants on yourself.”
“Mm.” Yu Chen made a sleepy little sound and lazily started taking off his pants. His skin had been naturally creamy white since birth. When he was little and plump, he had looked like a soft, squishy dumpling that anyone would want to pinch.
Now, those two dazzlingly white long legs suddenly appeared right in front of He Zhen.
He Zhen immediately averted his eyes while stepping in front of Yu Chen, shielding him completely until the last other person in the dorm had gone out.
“Boss, my shoelaces are messed up…” Yu Chen tugged at He Zhen’s arm, asking him to fix them.
He had always had terrible morning grumpiness. At this hour, his brain was not very clear, and if he tied his own laces now, he would probably irritate He Zhen to death.
He Zhen crouched down and reached out to fix them. “Yu Chencheng, I told you before, shoelaces can’t be tied like this. They’ll knot too tightly.”
Yu Chen let out an “oh” and said drowsily, “I was wrong, Boss.”
Faced with a Yu Chen like this, He Zhen simply had no way of truly blaming him. He could only patiently undo the knots for him.
Just then, Lin Jiashu hurried back in, having forgotten to put on sunscreen. His gaze fell on He Zhen’s hands, and he smiled gently. “You two better hurry. If you’re late, you’ll have to do push-ups.”
The moment Yu Chen heard “push-ups,” he immediately became alert.
“Jiashu, why’d you come back?”
Lin Jiashu waved the sunscreen bottle. “To put this on.”
“What’s that?” Yu Chen muttered. “Oil?”
As he applied it, Lin Jiashu explained, “Sunscreen. The sun is so strong outside. With your delicate skin, you’ll get burned.”
It was the first time Yu Chen had ever seen such an exquisitely put-together boy. He stared at Lin Jiashu blankly, and when Lin Jiashu turned back, he asked, “Do you want some?”
Yu Chen had only just woken up, and his face was still flushed red like a fully ripe apple.
He smiled shyly and felt that first trying someone else’s perfume, and now using their sunscreen too, seemed a little too much.
“Thanks.” He Zhen directly took the sunscreen from Lin Jiashu, squeezed some out, and started applying it to Yu Chen’s neck. “You do your own face. Hurry up.”
“Roger!” Like some clueless country bumpkin, Yu Chen squinted as he rubbed it all over his face. “This smells pretty nice too. Boss, do you want some too? Don’t get tanned.”
“No need.” He Zhen handed it back to Lin Jiashu and pulled Yu Chen to his feet. “Let’s go.”
Yu Chen thanked Lin Jiashu. “Jiashu, hurry up!”
Lin Jiashu nodded, his gaze lingering on the hands the two of them were holding.
On the first day of military training, the main point was the instructors’ lecture—getting everyone ideologically aligned.
Standing under the blazing sun, the whole group looked wilted.
Yu Chen and He Zhen were standing very far apart, with Xiao Yu beside Yu Chen.
“This sun is vicious. By the time training’s over, we’ll probably all look like charcoal briquettes.”
Yu Chen raised his brows proudly. “I put on sunscreen.”
“Damn, since when are you that careful?” Yu Chen was the type who would use hand cream all over his body. Since when had he suddenly gotten so particular?
“My roommate knows about this.” Yu Chen showed off happily. “Boss even helped me put it on my neck and arms.”
Xiao Yu’s face filled with disgust. “Hey, Yu—”
“The two students talking over there, step out!”
Both their faces changed at once. They were doomed!
Half an hour later, the rest of the students had gone to rest under the trees, while Yu Chen and Xiao Yu were still miserably standing at attention.
Taking advantage of the instructor looking away, Yu Chen said sincerely, “Xiao Yu, it’s so nice to have you.”
Xiao Yu was practically melting under the sun. “Huh?”
Yu Chen said, “At least when I’m being punished, I’ve got someone with me. Otherwise I’d be the only one losing face.”
Xiao Yu was speechless. “Shut up.”
Yu Chen’s eyes curved into little moons as he smiled—just in time to meet the instructor’s gaze when he turned around.
The air suddenly fell dead silent.
The instructor barked, “The student who was smiling just now, keep standing at attention. The other student can go rest.”
Xiao Yu shouted, “Understood!” Then, with his back to the instructor, he stuck out his tongue at Yu Chen.
Yu Chen: “…”
On the other side, under the shade of the trees, He Zhen’s fingers slowly curled into a fist.
When he saw Xiao Yu walking over, he had assumed the punishment was over for both of them. Who knew that Yu Chen had been left out there alone?
Running over, Xiao Yu saw He Zhen standing under the tree like some guardian spirit, neither resting nor drinking any water. He lowered his eyes guiltily. “Chubby Chencheng probably has to stand a bit longer.”
Although it was not his fault that Yu Chen was being punished longer, after all, he had been the one to start talking.
He Zhen said nothing. His gaze remained fixed on the distant figure of Yu Chen.
“Brother Zhen, drink some ice water.” He Zhi’an handed him some. “If you don’t drink now, training will start up again in a bit.”
He Zhen took it. “How much longer do you think Yu Chen has to stand?”
He Zhi’an muttered under his breath, “These instructors are all like this. They’re still establishing authority. Chencheng probably isn’t getting out anytime soon.”
“Holy crap, is that a Rolls-Royce Cullinan?”
“So cool!! I didn’t bring my phone!!”
“Whose car is that?”
Following the direction of the commotion, He Zhen looked over. The moment he saw the car, he quickly greeted the teacher and ran toward the gate.
“Oh, it’s He Zhen. Then that’s not surprising.”
“Is his family really that rich?”
Li Huan stood there holding a bag, his face full of guilt. “It’s Uncle’s fault. I forgot to buy sunscreen for you two.”
“It’s alright.” He Zhen took the bag. “I’m going back now. Be careful on your way home.”
“Where’s Chencheng?” Li Huan looked off toward the distant field. “That lazy little thing—is he refusing to come over because it’s too hot?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him.” He Zhen did not tell Li Huan that Yu Chen was still standing as punishment. Instead, he said to the driver, “Uncle Liu, drive slowly. Send me a text when you get home.”
Driver Liu laughed. “Got it.”
Watching He Zhen’s retreating back, Li Huan suddenly realized how short three years really were. In the blink of an eye, their young master had already grown into a standard handsome youth.
On the way back, Driver Liu teased, “With our young master’s looks and conditions, if this were ancient times, noble young ladies would absolutely be fighting over the chance to marry him.”
Li Huan nodded with satisfaction. “The key is that Xiao Zhen is not only smart and steady, but very polite to everyone too.”
“Exactly! You have no idea!” Driver Liu said. “A couple days ago, I delivered something for Old Master He, and that little young master from the Chen family—wow, he was practically looking down on everyone, arrogant and impossible. He doesn’t compare to our young master at all.”
Li Huan smiled in agreement. “That’s true.”
“Brother Li, your Chencheng is excellent too. Old Master praised him just yesterday, said he’s quick to understand things and even plays the violin pretty well.”
At the mention of his own child, Li Huan lit up. “Chencheng is benefiting from Xiao Zhen too. He’s picked up quite a lot of talents. He doesn’t like piano, so I thought he wasn’t musically gifted at all. Who knew he’d actually be so interested in violin?”
Driver Liu praised him. “Didn’t Chencheng score 675 on the high school entrance exam? He’s a little academic star too. In the future, you’ll definitely enjoy the good life.”
Li Huan’s smile deepened. “Old Master always says he’ll send Xiao Zhen to the U.S. for university one day. I’m thinking, if Chencheng wants to go too, I’ll send him abroad as well.”
“Studying in the U.S. is really expensive,” Driver Liu said.
“I looked into it. Altogether, it would cost seven to eight hundred thousand a year. If Chencheng wants decent food and living conditions and not to suffer, it’d be at least a million a year.”
Driver Liu said, “I heard kids can do work-study there.”
“I wouldn’t bear that.” Li Huan mused. “I don’t really have anywhere else to spend my money anyway. Might as well save it for the child.”
Driver Liu sighed with envy. “That boy Chencheng really has a good fate, having a father who loves him this much. Do you think maybe one day Yu Youshan might suddenly come back? After seeing how well Chencheng is doing, maybe he’d try to make the kid support him?”
Li Huan had always minded it when people brought up Yu Chen being adopted in front of him, let alone put forward such a terrible possibility.
“That’s up to the child. I’ll respect whatever choice he makes.”
…
By the time He Zhen returned, Yu Chen had already finished standing at attention. He led Yu Chen into the shade and stuffed a bottle of ice water into his hands. “Drink some quickly. Don’t get heatstroke.”
Yu Chen had long since become parched. Tilting his head back, he gulped the water down eagerly. “Boss, I’m practically melting.”
The leftover drops of water at the edge of his lips slid down his pale, slender neck.
He Zhen lowered his eyes and wiped them away for him. “Still going to talk next time?”
Yu Chen pouted. “No more talking.”
He Zhen took a bottle of sunscreen out of the bag. “Put some more on. Don’t get sunburned.”
Yu Chen’s eyes lit up. “Who brought this?”
“Uncle.” He Zhen explained, “You were standing at attention at the time.”
Yu Chen pulled a miserable face. “He didn’t find out, did he?”
He Zhen replied, “I didn’t tell him.”
“Boss, you’re such a real one.” Yu Chen immediately grabbed the bag and started rummaging through it to see if there was anything else good inside. “The one who truly gets me—even more than my dad—is my dad.”
Seeing Yu Chen’s messy hair, He Zhen raised a hand and smoothed it down for him. At the same time, he pulled out one bottle of sunscreen from the bag and tossed it to Lin Jiashu. “Here. Returning this.”
Lin Jiashu was taking a break. He smiled. “Why so polite? And it’s even a new one.”
“Just use it.” He Zhen did not like owing people. His gaze returned to Yu Chen. “Still thirsty?”
Yu Chen said, “Not thirsty anymore. Just hungry.”
He Zhen gave him a meaningful look. “I called you to come eat earlier, and you refused to get up.”
“You always expose me.” Yu Chen chewed on his chocolate and muttered, “I was dying of sleepiness last night. I needed to catch up on sleep.”
“You always have a reason.” Before He Zhen had even finished speaking, the whistle for training sounded again. “Hurry up and eat. Don’t go fainting later.”
Yu Chen frantically stuffed the rest of the chocolate into his mouth, not even bothering to dust the dirt off his backside before he ran at full speed back to stand in the second row.
The instructor was very pleased with Yu Chen’s speed, and had everyone practice marching for a while longer before finally ending training right around dinner time.
Before dinner, they had to sing military songs while waiting.
Yu Chen was so exhausted that he did not even have the energy to sing, let alone talk.
Luckily, someone asked permission to go to the bathroom, which gave Yu Chen an idea. Following after Lin Jiashu ahead of him, he planned to take the chance to rest for a moment on the way back.
After Lin Jiashu came out of the bathroom, he saw Yu Chen sitting pitifully on a rock with his face all drooped. Bending down, he teased him, “Young master, tired?”
“Mm, I am tired.” Yu Chen propped his chin on one hand. “I’m not some young master.”
Lin Jiashu sat down beside him, his eyes falling on those sneakers that were clearly worth at least five digits. His tone stayed light. “Alright then.”
“I’m not He Zhen’s real younger brother.” Yu Chen had long since grown used to other people misunderstanding it, so he explained on his own initiative. “My dad is the steward who takes care of my brother. We grew up together.”
“I see.” A nearly imperceptible smile appeared on Lin Jiashu’s lips. “I actually thought it was incest.”
“Incest?” Yu Chen asked blankly, completely clueless. “What does that mean?”
Lin Jiashu smiled in a very meaningful way. “Mm. Nothing.”
Yu Chen cheerfully went right back to boasting the moment he got the chance. “My brother treats me especially well. He’s also my boss. Other than my dad, he’s the one who dotes on me the most.”
“I could tell.” Lin Jiashu’s handsome features relaxed slightly, and his words seemed to hold a deeper meaning. “You can feel it.”
“We should hurry up and go eat. If we stay too long, we’ll get yelled at.”
Yu Chen reminded him, “Come on.”
Lin Jiashu followed behind Yu Chen the whole way back, his gaze drifting to Yu Chen’s pretty features from time to time.
This was the first time he had seen a boy like this. Quite cute, quite adorable.
If he weren’t already someone’s claimed flower… he might have wanted to try.
Then Lin Jiashu smiled faintly again.
Forget it. He still preferred muscular macho men.
This boy might be pretty, but he looked like someone who had not awakened to anything yet. It would probably take a bit too much effort.
In the cafeteria, Yu Chen was practically starving after such a long day. He ate steamed buns with fermented bean curd more fiercely than anyone. Most of the others at their table were pampered young masters and young ladies, and they were too spoiled to have much appetite for such plain food.
“Everyone, keep eating while listening to me.”
The instructor stood in the dining hall and gave all the students a new assignment.
A talent performance would be held tomorrow. Any student with a skill or talent was encouraged to sign up. In a few days, this training ground was going to host a performing arts troupe, so all the instruments and equipment were already fully available.
The moment everyone heard the news, no one felt hungry anymore.
Groups of three and five immediately started discussing whether to sign up for something.
Though Yu Chen was indeed considering whether to show off his violin a little, most of his attention remained on the chicken drumstick in front of him.
To be fair, the camp dinners were not stingy. There was a balance of meat and vegetables, and every person got one chicken drumstick—a highly valuable resource.
After everyone else had finished their drumsticks, they barely touched their chopsticks again. Yu Chen, however, liked to save the best for last. He would take two bites of steamed bun, then sniff the drumstick, and no matter what, he could not bear to actually eat it yet.
He Zhen put his own drumstick into Yu Chen’s bowl. “Hurry up and eat it. Smelling it won’t satisfy your craving.”
Yu Chen had not expected He Zhen to catch his little trick. Narrowing his eyes with puffed cheeks, he said, “Boss, I appreciate the thought, but you should eat it yourself. Military training is so intense. What if you get malnourished and make me so heartsick I have to go to the hospital?”
A faint smile appeared on He Zhen’s handsome face. “Such a slick tongue.”
Yu Chen pushed it back into He Zhen’s bowl. “Boss, my feelings for you—are completely sincere.”
He Zhen finished the last few bites of his bun and then returned the drumstick to Yu Chen’s bowl. “You eat it. I’m full.”
“Brother Zhen, if you’re full, then let me have it.” He Zhi’an was an incredibly picky eater, and he had practically been drooling over that much-passed-around chicken leg the whole time.
“In your dreams.” He Zhen picked up the drumstick and held it to Yu Chen’s mouth. “Hurry up and eat. He Zhi’an’s about to snatch it.”
Yu Chen gave a sly smile and immediately bit off half the drumstick in one go. He Zhi’an narrowed his eyes slightly. “You two! Colluding together!”
Yu Chen’s mouth was full of oil, and he raised his brows in smug triumph. “Who told you my boss dotes on me?”
Hearing Yu Chen’s shamelessly cheeky tone, He Zhi’an clicked his tongue and deliberately shot back, “Well, that’s because you’re the child bride.”
Yu Chen was not embarrassed in the slightest. Instead, he even said in an affectedly shy tone, “If you’re willing to be one too, then go ahead?”
He Zhi’an could not win against him in an argument, so he simply stopped responding.
At the side, Lin Jiashu observed the interaction between Yu Chen and He Zhen with growing curiosity. Quite a few of the other students at the table were already utterly stunned.
Collective inner thoughts:
So these two are actually a boy-boy CP?
They’re both this good-looking—what a waste of precious resources!
And this is already a civilized society. Are rich families really playing like this nowadays?
Hearing all that, Lin Jiashu became even more curious about the two of them.
After his triumphant victory, Yu Chen finished off the rest of the chicken drumstick and flashed He Zhen his brightest smile. “Boss, thanks for the drumstick. When I grow up, I’ll definitely serve you like an ox and a horse.”
He Zhen paused in the middle of gathering up the bowls and chopsticks. In his calm eyes, a trace of hesitation flashed by, followed by a thoughtful little smile.
A moment later, he pulled out a tissue and slowly wiped Yu Chen’s mouth clean, looking at him with a strange kind of gaze. “No need to serve me like an ox or a horse. Being the child bride is enough.”
