Chapter 33: A Soft Murmur Like a Little Succubus Coquetting
Feng Xun hadn’t expected such a coincidence either. For a moment, he froze.
The boy’s shirt had been completely removed, exposing a frame of skin as fine and white as porcelain. Though he leaned on the slender side, he wasn’t frail in the slightest. His skin was overlaid with a thin layer of firm, tight muscle, looking as though he exercised regularly—or perhaps due to a habit of frequent physical labor.
Right now, the boy had one hand tugging at the waistband of his shorts, which were already halfway down. A single glance revealed his exposed underwear.
It was light green with a white polka-dot pattern.
“?”
Seeing the intruder standing there looking utterly dazed like some clueless, blockheaded greenhorn, Jian Tang couldn’t help but speak up to remind him.
“This stall is taken.”
If he hadn’t seen the other party’s pupils trembling slightly, Jian Tang would have assumed this person was blind—couldn’t he see such a large human standing right here?
Shouldn’t a normal person swiftly back out upon realizing a single-occupancy shower stall was occupied?
What, did he want to split a shower like a group-buy deal?
“…Sorry.”
The other party seemed to finally snap out of it and hurriedly backed out.
Jian Tang noticed the tips of the man’s ears flush red as he left, his footsteps frantic. He was probably deeply embarrassed, which caused the slight displeasure in Jian Tang’s heart to dissipate a bit. It seemed the fellow hadn’t lingered on purpose; he had just carelessly spaced out for a moment.
Paying no further mind to this little interlude, he continued humming a tune as he stripped off his clothes and changed into his swim trunks.
After Feng Xun backed out, his brain was still a bit muddled. By the time he reacted, he was already standing inside the adjacent shower stall.
“…”
Separated only by a thin plastic partition, he could clearly hear the activity next door. At this moment, his sharp perceptive abilities conjured the corresponding images in his mind without any hindrance—
The other party stripped off his outer pants, then his underwear. A rustle of plastic followed; the boy was likely putting his discarded clothes into a waterproof bag. Then came the sound of a nozzle turning on.
The warm stream sprayed by the shower drenched the naked body. He heard the boy let out a comfortable sigh, the trailing tone lingering and soft, like the gentle hum of a little succubus acting spoiled.
Feng Xun’s throat bobbed. He violently turned on the shower head, and only after the ice-cold water drenched him to the bone did he realize he had actually forgotten to take off his clothes.
“…”
Excellent. Now he was completely sobered up.
The man woodenly stripped off his thoroughly soaked clothes, when he suddenly heard an annoying voice drift in from outside.
“Little Jellybean, where are you?”
The sound of rushing water in the next stall ceased instantly, followed by the boy’s somewhat nervous voice: “I’m in here! I’ll be out right away.”
Footsteps approached, the person laughing flippantly as he walked.
“You’re so slow. I’m coming in.”
Feng Xun almost crushed the bottle of body wash in his hand, his expression turning as cold and ruthless as an Asura straight out of hell.
—If you dare step a foot inside, you’re a dead man today!
“Almost done, almost done!” The voice next door was visibly panicked. “I-I’m coming out right now!”
Jian Tang scrambled into his swim trunks and hurriedly pulled open the door curtain, running right into the Nightmare Duke who had already walked up to the entrance.
“Honestly, you’re so fast when you ought to be slow.” Fila looked somewhat disappointed, complaining with a mix of jest and earnestness. “How deflating.”
“…”
Jian Tang didn’t dare ask what the man was disappointed about. He offered a hollow smile and followed in his footsteps, and the two left the shower area together.
Almost the exact moment they left, the curtain of the adjacent shower stall was pulled aside. A plain-looking, heavily built man with a sullen expression walked out.
He watched the departing backs of the two in front of him, his eyes darkening as he strode forward to follow them.
—
Stepping into the semi-open amusement area, Jian Tang’s eyes lit up as his vision suddenly opened up.
As City A’s landmark amusement park, this water park was massive. It had everything from a “wave pool” and “surfing zone” to a “spiral mega-slide” and “lazy river.” There was even a small aquarium standing in the northeast corner of the park.
The venue was packed with tourists. Shouts of laughter, splashing waves, and diving thuds rose and fell in succession. Jian Tang looked this way and that, searching for the tattooed older sister and the stone-faced little boy.
“Where are Lord Heramis and Lord A’nie?”
Fila raised a hand and pointed: “There, over that way.”
Jian Tang followed the direction and couldn’t help but open his mouth, his eyes filling with striking admiration.
At the end of his line of sight lay the most high-profile and eye-catching surfing zone in the entire park. This body of water occupied a vast area. The wave machines constantly generated surging ocean-like waves, and countless surfers, feet planted on their boards, cut through the swells like free sea swallows, drawing the eyes of countless onlookers.
To spark the enthusiasm of surfing experts, the park had specially set up smart cameras to capture spectacular shots in real time, synchronizing the feed to a massive color screen above the surfing zone. Anyone passing by could see it, maximizing the theatrical flair.
The spectacular scene currently playing on the big screen featured a tall, striking beauty clad in a black bikini. She possessed a healthy, wheat-colored complexion and a well-proportioned, upright stature. Her head was styled with a full set of multicolored dreadlocks, and her right arm bore a highly distinct, totemic tattoo. Feet planted on an ultra-long surfboard, she rode the turbulent waves as if walking on flat ground, cutting through the wind and swells with a relaxed, effortless posture that demonstrated superb balance and core strength.
Another massive wave surged over. She rode the swell upward, person and ocean seemingly merging into one. Just as the rising crest was about to swallow her figure, she suddenly reared her head back, surging up against the wave. At the absolute peak where she was tossed by the crest, she executed a nimble, spinning leap, landing to firmly suppress the wave beneath her feet.
That fearless composure in the face of danger and her all-disdainful aura made her appear, at this moment, like a sea goddess ruling over raging oceans and furious torrents—valiant, dashing, and utterly peerless.
This single scene thoroughly astounded everyone in the surfing zone. After a brief hush, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, sister, that was incredible!!”
“Holy crap, this beauty is so fierce and badass!! A true heroine among women!!”
“Sister, you’re so cool!!”
As the strongest evil god who reigned supreme in the “Sacrificial Hunting Ground” public dungeon, Heramis naturally wouldn’t lose herself in the awe and praise of mere mortals. She continued to roam amid the continuous waves as if no one else were there—these tiny ripples were no different from playing house to her, pure amusement.
While everyone’s attention was deeply captured by Heramis’s agile frame, Jian Tang suddenly saw a small figure climb onto the shore platform of the surfing zone, dragging a massive surfboard behind him that was easily three times his height.
The stone-faced little boy wearing yellow-duck swim trunks tossed the massive surfboard into the pool. He narrowed his eyes slightly, picked the perfect moment, and leaped into the water—
A hand abruptly materialized out of nowhere, hoisting the mid-air little boy up by the collar.
“Whose kid is this?!”
The lifeguard of the surfing zone held up the little boy who was attempting to dive, while fiercely scanning the entire area, shouting at the top of his lungs.
“Where are the parents! Where are this kid’s parents!”
He was genuinely furious. Was that massive warning sign standing by the shore reading “Water entry prohibited for individuals under 1.4m” just a decoration? Huh??
“Do you have any sense of responsibility at all? Watch your kid!” Looking after a pool full of people was exhausting enough as it was, and now he had to catch brats trying to sneak into the water. The lifeguard’s corporate-slave resentment soared to the skies, his roar sounding like a lion’s bellow.
“Where are this kid’s parents?! Where are they?! PA-RENTS, WHERE ARE YOU—?!”
A’nie: “…”
Fila: “…”
Heramis: “…”
The tattooed older sister silently adjusted her surfboard, executed a swift U-turn on the water, and darted deep into the waves.
The nouveau riche handsome guy executed a smooth turn and jumped into the lazy river adjacent to the surfing zone.
Leaving only Jian Tang standing dazed on the spot, small, innocent, and pitiful.
“…”
There was no choice. He had to pick up the “worried mother” persona again.
“Coming, coming.” Jian Tang jogged up to the infuriated lifeguard, offering apologetic smiles while taking the little boy from his grip. “This is my kid.”
The lifeguard scanned him twice, his anger unabated: “You’re the child’s parent?”
“Uh, I’m a family member.”
…I’m his grandson, and he’s my ancestor.
After receiving a head-on, blistering lecture from the lifeguard, a disheveled Jian Tang brought the desperately struggling little boy to the “Children’s Splash Zone.”
There was a wave pool here too, but it was the kid-exclusive version—the tiny ripples had a net height of less than 20cm. The children were having a blast, wearing swim rings as they were pushed around by the micro-waves, each laughing like an opening sweet dumpling.
The moment Jian Tang set the little brat in his arms onto the ground, the kid bolted. Fortunately, Jian Tang had accumulated rich experience in battles of wits and strength over the past two days, swiftly scooping the little boy back up with sharp eyes and quick hands.
“Young master, little young master, little ancestor! I’m begging you,” Jian Tang said with a long, gloomy face. “Don’t run around. You can only play here right now.”
A’nie was held tightly by the waist and truly couldn’t break free, so he could only turn his head away with an angry huff.
“I’m not a child.”
“You are a child right now.”
“This place is boring.”
“It’ll get fun as you play,” Jian Tang coaxed. “How about I go with you to play on the small slide?”
A’nie was silent for a moment before saying abruptly, “Lend me your body.”
“Ah?”
“I’ll use your body for a bit,” A’nie said. “That way there won’t be a problem.”
Jian Tang: “…”
Jian Tang: “Lord A’nie, it’s not that I’m unwilling, but if you possess my body, you will instantly revert to your original monster form.”
After all, this body of his wasn’t an original human body; his true form was still a monster.
A’nie thought about it, then issued a new directive: “Go find an adult male body for me.”
Jian Tang: “…Me?”
Do I look like a combat freak capable of knocking out an adult human and dragging him before you??
But A’nie evidently believed it was a fine idea, directly picking out a “new shell” on the spot and quickly locking onto a target.
“That one over there is pretty good.” He tilted his head up.
Jian Tang followed his gesture to look—among the crowd of parents sitting by the shore supervising their kids playing in the water, there really was a man with a superb build: broad shoulders, long legs, and eight perfectly defined abdominal muscles.
…Wait.
Wasn’t that the awkward guy who had mistakenly burst into his shower stall earlier?!
The man’s looks were truly way too plain; stripped of his clothes, Jian Tang had almost failed to recognize him.
Jian Tang subconsciously cast a glance into the children’s pool—the awkward guy looked quite young, yet he already had a kid?
He wondered which little kid in the water belonged to his household.
“Go,” A’nie urged. “Bring him over.”
Of course, it was impossible for Jian Tang to go: “Look at his build! Look at those muscles! He could take ten of me in a fight, alright!”
A’nie looked at the slender, graceful youth, then at the tall, powerful man: “…”
Well, it did seem a bit difficult to ask the youth to forcefully pin a man down.
He thought for a moment, waved Jian Tang over, and whispered a few words in his ear.
Jian Tang’s face turned peculiar: “Will that really work?”
“Yeah.” A’nie maintained a completely unperturbed, calm demeanor. “Once you lead the person to the deep water zone, I’ll handle the rest.”
Jian Tang tried to dissuade him: “That’s not very good, is it? There are surveillance cameras everywhere here. If we get discovered by humans…”
“I’ll drag him down to the bottom of the water before doing anything,” A’nie said indifferently. “Guaranteed to be completely undetected.”
Seeing Jian Tang still hesitating and refusing to move, the little boy grew a bit impatient.
“It’s just borrowing his body for half a day, it won’t kill him.” He gave the youth a push. “Go, hurry!”
“…”
Though highly reluctant, under the glare of the stone-faced big boss, Jian Tang could only bite the bullet and go.
Sigh, what an absolute mess.
He felt as though he had become one of those wicked sprites from fairy tales, luring innocent bystanders into a monster’s den.
Wuwu, I hope… I hope my lure succeeds…
