The Interdimensional Reseller – CH212

Chapter 212

Crescent Group.

Jocelyn packed up the supplies and started discussing the matter of soil with Chu Feng.
“You mean spirit soil?”

Jocelyn nodded. “Yes, though it can’t really be considered genuine spirit soil, it’s still far better in quality than ordinary dirt. If we had enough of it, it would help the Tree of Life grow.”

Chu Feng rested his chin in thought. So even spirit soil is showing up now… The earthquake really did bring out quite a lot of interesting things.

“The National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities doesn’t have much spirit soil either,” Jocelyn continued, “and from what Delice said, it seems to be quite expensive.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Got it. If it’s useful for the Tree of Life, I’ll find a way to get some. I’ll send you back first.”

Jocelyn nodded. “Alright.”

Although many things in the modern world fascinated him, he still preferred staying beside the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Life was still in its infancy and couldn’t be left alone for long. If he stayed away too long, Jocelyn felt uneasy.

“The National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities’s spirit fields are quite interesting. I hope I get another chance to visit,” Jocelyn said.

Chu Feng nodded. “We’ll see.”

This time, Jocelyn had displayed his abilities at the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities, which probably caught their attention. In the future, if something similar to the jujube tree incident came up, they might seek their help again. It would be mutually beneficial — those jujubes were quite valuable. If a similar case arose, lending a hand for some perks wouldn’t be bad.

“Zheng Xue, Jin Jie, you’re finally back!” Ji Ping said. “I heard that the Miracle Doctor’s disciple went to the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities and instantly hooked half the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities’s ability-users. Is it true?”

“It’s already spread?” Zheng Xue asked.

Ji Ping nodded. “Yeah! There’s even a photo online of National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities members gawking at a beauty and tripping over themselves. It’s caused quite a stir — people are mocking them for having worse self-control than ordinary folks.”

These days, ability-users had increasingly high status. In the past, people liked to hate on the rich; now, some preferred hating on ability-users.

“Well, you can’t entirely blame them,” Zheng Xue said. “That was a beauty who could turn the world upside down — too beautiful. No straight man could resist.”

“Some people online are demanding photos, but it seems the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities has a rule that Jocelyn’s photo can’t be released,” Ji Ping said. “Maybe that has to do with the boss.”

“He really is a beauty,” Jin Jie said.

She still didn’t know what the boss was thinking. Such a stunning person, yet he told everyone he was ugly. At first, she believed it.

“I heard he’s unmatched in beauty — heavenly and earthly,” Ji Ping said eagerly. “I’d love to see what he actually looks like.”

“Too late. I think he’s already been sent away,” Jin Jie said.

Ji Ping frowned. “The boss was in such a rush. He’d just arrived, and already he was sent off? Was he afraid someone might poach him?”

“Not impossible,” Jin Jie replied.

“You guys were lucky,” Ji Ping said. “You even caught him when his veil slipped.”

“This veil didn’t just ‘slip,’” Zheng Xue said. “A sudden strange wind blew it off.”

If what Delice had said — that Jocelyn was ugly — had been true, that would’ve been awkward.

Ji Ping smiled knowingly. “Oh? Some people’s abilities may not be great for fighting, but blowing a little wind shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Ji Ping had once argued with Yuan Bin at the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities over resources. He didn’t like Yuan Bin’s ways, and Yuan Bin looked down on Ji Ping’s powers.

Ji Ping thought to himself: Even if Yuan Bin’s ability is rare, if his rank doesn’t improve, wind powers aren’t much more than a big electric fan — and fans can work nonstop without getting tired. If Yuan Bin kept blowing, he’d be exhausted in no time.

“Exactly,” Zheng Xue said.

Just then, Zhan Yi landed in front of them and folded his wings.
“The boss is giving out supplies. Each of us can get two jujubes.”

“Really?” Zheng Xue said excitedly.

Zhan Yi nodded.

Zheng Xue thought: These jujubes have caused undercurrents in the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities lately. Maybe they’ll hand some out there too. But she didn’t dare hope too much.

The Crescent Group’s benefits were truly great. She’d have to work hard — if she got fired, no other place would treat her this well.

After sending Jocelyn off, Chu Feng brought Shi Qi over.

Shi Qi hadn’t been to the modern world for some time, and this was her first time at the Crescent Group.

Wearing a temporary work badge, Shi Qi followed Delice on a full tour.

Chen Feng eyed her curiously. “Where did this Shi Qi come from? Looks like the boss brought her personally. Don’t tell me she’s another parachuted-in department head?”

Riya shook her head. “I don’t think so.”

Shi Qi seemed to be from Illya’s side, and she didn’t seem to understand their language. If she couldn’t even understand the words, how could she be a department head?

“Could he be an ability-user?” Chen Feng wondered.

“Maybe?” Riya raised a brow.

Even though ability-users were becoming more common, the awakening rate was still very low.

“The boss wouldn’t just bring over some random person,” Chen Feng said.

Ji Ping looked at Shi Qi and asked Huang Wei, “You feel anything?”

Huang Wei nodded. “Yeah — the aura of the same kind.”

Ji Ping frowned. “Competition’s getting fierce.”

Chu Feng already had more than just the eight recruited ability-users — there were others. That Jocelyn was a B-rank ability-user.

Shi Qi might look ordinary, but if Huang Wei could sense him, maybe he was a master too.

Ji Ping felt a heavy sense of pressure.

Inside the office.

“I brought Shi Qi over—are you planning to start collecting spiritual soil?” Illya asked.

Chu Feng nodded. “Yes.” Spiritual soil sounded like good stuff—might as well collect some.

Illya looked at Chu Feng. “So, how are you going to go about it?”

Chu Feng shook his head. “No plan yet.”

“Can’t pinpoint where the spiritual soil is?” Illya asked.

“We might need to get help from the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities,” Chu Feng replied. In terms of intelligence gathering, few forces could rival them—they were, after all, a state-backed organization. The National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities likely had plenty of soil experts and tools to test soil quality.

Zhuang Feixue walked in. “What are you talking about?”

“Planning to talk to Shen Yutong about soil,” Chu Feng said.

“You want to cultivate soil?” Zhuang Feixue asked.

Chu Feng glanced at her. “You know about that?”

Zhuang Feixue shrugged. “Yeah, it’s being sold outside now.”

“There’s some for sale? People actually buy soil?” Chu Feng was curious.

“Yes,” Zhuang Feixue said. “In many of those newly emerged mountains, the soil is very fertile. A lot of people go in, and if they don’t find anything else, they just dig up soil to take back. Regular dirt might only fetch a hundred or so per truckload, but high-grade soil is another matter—it can be worth hundreds of thousands or even millions.”

“They say the highest-grade nutrient soil can go for over a hundred million, but that kind only exists deep in the mountains. Those places are dangerous, and even if you find it, it’s hard to transport out. Most forces only manage to get mid-grade nutrient soil.”

“How do you tell good soil from bad?” Chu Feng asked.

“At the research institute, they have specialized testing tools. For most groups, when collecting soil, they just look for where the vegetation is especially lush and start digging there,” Zhuang Feixue explained.

“Many forces send the soil they’ve hauled out to a soil research institute for appraisal. With an appraisal certificate, the price can be properly assessed. The price difference between soil grades is huge. Some shady merchants, once they get a certificate, mix the good soil with cheaper cultivation soil to make a big profit.”

“There’s such a thing?” Chu Feng thought to himself—after the earthquake, it seemed a lot of new business opportunities had sprung up.

“Nutrient soil is usually in demand at spirit herb cultivation centers,” Zhuang Feixue continued. “Chu Feng, are you planning to start a spiritual herb plantation?”

“Something like that,” Chu Feng replied.

“Where are you going to plant them?” Zhuang Feixue asked.

“…” Chu Feng thought—the world wasn’t very peaceful right now. He was planning to plant them in another world. “I’ll tell you later.”

“Alright.”

“Need me to help with anything?” she asked.

“Yes—help me arrange a few trucks,” Chu Feng said.

“For hauling soil?”

“Yes.”

Zhuang Feixue frowned. “Those new mountains have very rough terrain—trucks might not be able to get in.”

“Doesn’t matter,” Chu Feng said casually. “No need to drive them in—we can just take them straight there.”

“You can take trucks directly in?” Zhuang Cheng asked in shock.

“Yes, it’s not hard,” Chu Feng replied.

Zhuang Cheng: …Taking trucks directly like that—was Chu Feng even human? Ability users were cheating too much.

“Alright, I’ll arrange it right away,” Zhuang Feixue said.

Chu Feng brought Illya to the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities to visit Shen Yutong.

Last time, they had given Jocelyn a checkup without permission, which seemed to have annoyed Chu Feng. Shen Yutong had been a bit tense, but now that Chu Feng came over willingly, she relaxed a bit.

“You want the coordinates for high-grade cultivation soil?” Shen Yutong asked.

Chu Feng nodded. “Yes. I know the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities has special methods for large-scale detection of soil quality.”

Shen Yutong nodded. “Yes, the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities does have that capability. We have a sensing ability-user whose power is unique—he can sense the locations of witch stones, spiritual soil, and spirit herbs.”

Chu Feng’s abilities were powerful, but the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities’s ability-users were diverse and each had their specialties—giving them an edge in some areas.

“The coordinates aren’t a problem,” Shen Yutong continued, “but they’re classified information. If you want them, Young Master Chu, it’ll have to be a fifty-fifty split.”

“Will collecting the soil involve some danger?” Chu Feng asked.

“Of course,” Shen Yutong said. “If it wasn’t dangerous, high-grade nutrient soil wouldn’t be so scarce on the market.”

Chu Feng hesitated for a moment. “…Alright.”

Shen Yutong was slightly surprised—she had set the fifty-fifty split expecting him to haggle, but he agreed immediately.

“In that case, I’ll have a geological expert assist you,” she said.

“Much appreciated,” Chu Feng replied.

He then took Shen Yutong and a professor surnamed Cong, and directly teleported them back to the Crescent Tower.

“Back already? Did you work it out?” Zhuang Feixue asked.

“Done,” Chu Feng said.

“The trucks you wanted are already here—parked outside the building,” she told him.

“Good.”

The Crescent Group’s front plaza wasn’t very big—normally it was just for luxury cars to stop briefly. Now, however, the space was filled with several cheap trucks, blocking the main entrance entirely.

Chu Feng had Shi Qi, Shen Yutong, Professor Cong, and a few others get into the trucks, then directly teleported them—trucks and all—to the target location.

The employees, unaware of Chu Feng’s ability, were dumbfounded when the trucks suddenly vanished into thin air.

Chu Feng stepped down from the truck.
Shen Yutong had long known that Chu Feng possessed teleportation abilities, but she hadn’t expected them to be so astonishing. After the earthquake, the newly emerged mountains had complex terrain and difficult access, making it nearly impossible for vehicles to get deep inside.

However, with an ability like Chu Feng’s, this was clearly no obstacle. Chu Feng glanced at the person beside him and said, “Professor Cong, where exactly is the high-grade nutrient soil located?”

Professor Cong fiddled with the instrument in his hand, running a scan.
“Over here—the soil in this area is extremely rich in special substances.”

Chu Feng looked at Shi Qi, jerked his chin toward the spot, and said, “Go ahead.”

Shi Qi nodded, pressed his fingers together, and pointed forward. In the distance, the soil suddenly lifted into the air, forming pillars of earth that flew straight into the truck beds.

Illya gripped Shi Qi’s other hand, continuously channeling energy.

A gray mist drifted around Illya’s body, shrouding Shi Qi in a faint haze.

Watching this, Shen Yutong recalled the previous forest fire. Back then, a certain earth-ability-user had helped put it out. In the surveillance footage, she had caught glimpses of several figures’ backs and vaguely thought one might be Chu Feng.

At the time, she dismissed it as overthinking—but clearly, she’d been right. Chu Feng had indeed been involved in that fire.

The sandstorm back then had been spectacular enough, but the scene before her now was even more shocking: soil spun into towering funnels, whirling like earthen tornadoes, gouging large pits into the ground.
