Illya’s Audition

Chapter 133: Illya’s Audition

While Lan Hu and Shi Qi were chatting indoors, Gray opened the door and walked in.

Lan Hu stood up a bit nervously. “Gray, what’s up?”

Lan Hu rolled his eyes mentally. Who knows when Gray arrived? These elves always appear out of nowhere—it’s impossible to guard against them. Not sure how much he overheard…

“Have you made your decision? Are you going to Tianhai City?” Gray asked.

Lan Hu nodded. “Yes.”

Gray sighed. “Looks like Tilly’s shot at being store manager is gone again.”

“Since you’ve decided to go,” he continued, “go pick out some items to sell. Choose things that are simple and not too flashy. You go too,” he said to Shi Qi. “Help him sort through things. You used to be nobility—you should know what nobles like.”

Lan Hu nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ve got a great eye.”

Lan Hu followed Gray to the warehouse. He had only seen it from a distance before. Now that he was actually wandering inside, he realized just how many treasures were stored there.

He thought to himself: There’s so much good stuff here—it’s a shame to just leave it in storage. We should’ve sold it ages ago. These things could bring in loads of money.

Chu Feng, seeing Lan Hu practically drooling, asked, “What are you thinking about?”

Lan Hu chuckled. “I was just thinking, boss, if you sold everything in this warehouse, you might become the richest man in the world.”

Chu Feng replied, “So becoming the richest man in another world is that simple? If possible, maybe I should try being the richest man for fun—it does sound powerful.”

Gray glanced at Lan Hu. “Look how happy you are. Even if someone becomes the richest, it’ll be Brother Feng.”

Lan Hu nodded quickly. “Of course, of course.”

After picking out the first batch of items, Chu Feng sent the first group to Tianhai City.

This group came from Crescent Village: two half-elves, three half-orcs, and one Lan Hu.

The people from Crescent Village were skilled hunters and were all armed with pistols, so safety was pretty well covered.

After sending them off, Chu Feng returned to the village.

“Do you think they can manage to run the store well?” Chu Feng asked.

Illya replied calmly, “Probably. Someone will appreciate what we’re selling.”

The stuff Chu Feng brought over was all novel—should easily fetch high prices.

Lan Hu, now appointed store manager, confidently promised to make big money before leaving.

Chu Feng nodded. “Let’s hope so.”

If they could earn tens of thousands of gold coins, great. If not, it wasn’t much of a loss anyway. The goods Lan Hu took over looked like a lot but were only worth a few tens of thousands—not a big deal.

After sending them off, Chu Feng returned to the real world.

Not long after they came back, Illya received a package—his new ID card.

Holding it fondly, he said, “I have an ID now! We can finally rent a hotel room together!”

Chu Feng nodded, a bit embarrassed. “Yeah… we can now.”

Chu Feng thought: Why is Illya’s first thought about the ID that we can get a hotel room together?

Illya said cheerfully, “Now that I have this, can we go to an amusement park?”

Chu Feng nodded. “Sure! I’ll take you soon.”

“Yay!”

Then he looked at her and added, “My sister’s urging us to go to the capital.”

Zhuang Feixue was likely pushing them to come because she wanted Illya to join a production team.

Illya clapped his hands. “Let’s go early. I want to be a star soon.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Okay.”

They teleported straight to the capital.

When Zhuang Feixue received Chu Feng’s call, she was surprised. “You’re here already?”

Chu Feng looked at her. “Didn’t you tell me to come early?”

Zhuang Feixue frowned. “Yes, but mom and Feilei went to find you. You just missed each other.”

Chu Feng smiled. “No big deal. We’ll meet when it’s time.”

Zhuang Feixue nodded. “That’s true.”

Zhuang Feixue looked at Illya and said, “In a bit, come with me to the film set.”

Illya nodded and said, “Okay! What role am I playing? Do I need to play a corpse? Do corpses get paid more? Can I play a corpse?”

Zhuang Feixue: “……” He looks this handsome, and yet he insists on playing a corpse? What a waste!

Chu Feng muttered, “It’s just a cameo, so probably not a lot of scenes.”

Zhuang Feixue nodded. “Not many scenes, but it’s an important role — the most beautiful man in the Snow Kingdom.”

Illya looked a bit troubled. “Isn’t the most beautiful man supposed to be played by someone really pretty? Can I do it?”

“Of course,” Zhuang Feixue replied, silently thinking: If Illya isn’t suitable, then no one is.

Chu Feng looked at Illya and said, “Don’t worry. Lots of average-looking people play the ‘most beautiful woman in the world’ roles. Honestly, the ‘world’s most beautiful’ is just a label. You see tons of them on the street.”

Illya nodded. “Oh.” That seemed to ease a lot of pressure.

Zhuang Feixue rubbed her forehead and thought: Chu Feng just made the ‘most beautiful man’ sound so cheap…

“Come with me. Let’s go meet the director,” Zhuang Feixue said.

Illya nodded. “Okay.”

“The director, Miss Zhuang brought someone to audition,” a staff member called out.

The chubby director looked a bit troubled and said, “Got it.”

There was still one important role uncast in his drama: the Snow Kingdom Prince. In fact, many people were competing for the role, but none of them had really felt right.

According to the script, the Snow Kingdom Prince was supposed to be an ethereal, otherworldly figure — refined and elegant. But all the candidates so far seemed too ordinary, even tacky, in the director’s eyes.

Previously, Zhuang Feixue had said she’d bring someone over, but the director hadn’t thought much of it. He was prepared to politely turn them down if they didn’t fit — better that than ruin the final effect of the show.

Zhuang Feixue brought Illya over, and the moment the director saw Illya, he was stunned.

“Feixue… is this the Snow Kingdom Prince you found?” the director murmured.

Zhuang Feixue nodded. “Yes. Do you think he’s suitable?”

“Suitable? He’s perfect!” the director said excitedly.

He had been considering cutting down the Snow Kingdom Prince’s scenes if they couldn’t find the right actor — but now he was thinking of giving the character more screen time!

These days, many TV dramas are a mess plot-wise, but if the actors are good-looking, fangirls and “appearance lovers” will still drive up the ratings.

Even though he was shooting a serious drama, pleasing the fangirls didn’t conflict with that goal.

Where did Zhuang Feixue find such a rare gem? And how come the entertainment circle hadn’t heard of him before?

Seeing the director so satisfied, Zhuang Feixue quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

The director looked at Illya and asked, “Have you acted before?”

Illya shook his head. “No.”

“Which acting school did you graduate from?”

He shook his head again. He had never attended school. Compared to Chu Feng, he was truly illiterate.

Zhuang Feixue frowned slightly and said, “Director, he’s a foreigner. Don’t worry, with a face like that, he’s good enough. The Snow Kingdom Prince doesn’t even have that many lines.”

The director nodded. “True. His skin is amazing too!”

Zhuang Feixue glanced at Illya and thought to herself: Illya’s skin really is incredible. He’s clearly not wearing any makeup, yet it looks so dewy and flawless — you can’t even see his pores. It’s enviable.
She then turned her gaze to Chu Feng and thought: My little brother’s skin is also amazing. How does a guy end up with skin like that? It’s enough to make someone jealous.

Chu Feng had never been on a film set before, and was curiously looking around. Suddenly, he noticed his “sister” staring at him with what looked like jealousy in her eyes, and he couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

Zhuang Feixue lowered her voice and asked, “Brother, are you using any skincare products?”

Chu Feng shook his head. “Nope.”

Zhuang Feixue frowned. “Really? I use face masks that cost two thousand yuan each, and even then my skin doesn’t look as good as yours!”

Chu Feng: “… Two thousand yuan per mask? Celebrity faces really are expensive.”
Though his face is probably even more expensive.

Illya tilted his head and said, “I have beauty-enhancing elixirs. If you take one, your complexion will look better. Do you want one?”

Zhuang Feixue was curious. “Beauty elixirs? How much are they?”

“One million each.”

Zhuang Feixue: “…”

Chu Feng looked at Illya in shock and thought: Illya’s gone bad. When did he learn to name such outrageous prices?

Illya looked at Chu Feng in confusion and asked, “Is that expensive?”

Chu Feng replied, “Depends on how the buyer sees it.”

Illya said seriously, “But isn’t it true that the more expensive something is, the more people want to buy it? One million isn’t that much. Just a while ago, we sold three detox elixirs for ten million.”

Chu Feng nodded, “Yeah, that’s true. Not expensive at all.”

“These elixirs were made by a shaman. Anything made by a shaman wouldn’t be—”

Zhuang Feixue was stunned. “Three detox elixirs for ten million?! Who did you even sell them to?”
Is there really someone out there with that much money to burn?

Illya shook his head. “Some woman with long hair.”

Zhuang Feixue: “… A woman with long hair? That’s way too vague.”

She looked at Illya with some anticipation. “These beauty elixirs… do they actually work?”

Illya thought about it. “They work… somewhat.”

Zhuang Feixue nodded. “Okay, I’ll buy them.”

Illya took out a small bottle and said, “There are three elixirs here — you can have them all.”
It’s our first business deal, and she’s one of us, so giving a little discount is only fair.

Zhuang Feixue looked at the black, nondescript elixirs inside the bottle and thought skeptically: A product like this with no brand or certification… can it really work?

Her assistant, standing nearby, couldn’t hold back and said, “Miss Zhuang, maybe don’t take it… If you end up in the hospital, it’ll delay the entire filming schedule.”

But Zhuang Feixue poured out one of the elixirs and swallowed it without hesitation.

Chu Feng watched his “sister” react and thought: People always say female celebrities will risk anything for beauty. Looks like it’s true.

Zhuang Feixue’s assistant, Su Miaomiao, gave Chu Feng a helpless look.
Others didn’t know who Chu Feng really was, but Su Miaomiao did — Miss Feilei was actually the child who was switched at birth. The young man in front of her was the real young master of the Zhuang family.
Though rumor had it he used to be a delivery guy from the countryside…
Su Miaomiao never expected he also moonlighted as a elixir salesman.
