Chapter 266: Extra (3)
“Marriage?”
Su Ci lifted his head from A-Yan’s fluffy tail and looked at him curiously, only to see an unusually serious expression on the young man’s face.
Yet, within that seriousness, there was a hint of shyness—evident from the faint blush that spread across A-Yan’s cheeks.
Su Ci, on the other hand, felt nothing in particular.
When one has lived long enough, one encounters all sorts of things, including marriage proposals from humans. Back in ancient times, when Su Ci roamed the human world, such proposals were not uncommon.
He had always refused them and was never particularly fond of such rituals.
After all, marriage was a human tradition for joining two families. What did it have to do with beings like them?
However, when Su Ci looked into A-Yan’s eyes, shining with hopeful anticipation, he didn’t immediately refuse. Instead, he asked, “Why?”
“Wouldn’t it be nice for us to become lifelong partners?” A-Yan held Su Ci close, his expression filled with longing and a touch of nervousness. “To form a bond that lasts forever, one that never breaks? Isn’t that wonderful?”
For them, a lifetime meant true eternity.
“It does sound appealing.”
If A-Yan wanted such a bond, Su Ci didn’t mind going along with it. After all, it was a small thing for him. Besides…
“Are you absolutely sure?” Su Ci asked.
A contract formed by the Spirit of Rules would become an unbreakable law of existence, something even A-Yan himself might not be able to undo.
“Yes.”
A-Yan gently picked up a strand of Su Ci’s hair, twirling it lovingly between his fingers.
Su Ci studied him, then quietly explained the potential consequences of such a contract. A-Yan, being a relatively young spirit, likely didn’t fully understand the extent of his own power.
But when Su Ci finished, A-Yan simply said, “Isn’t that perfect?”
Su Ci reached out, softly brushing his fingers against A-Yan’s cheek.
“You know we have nearly infinite lifetimes ahead of us,” Su Ci said, his voice distant, as though lost in thought.
“I know,” A-Yan replied.
“For me, that alone is enough,” Su Ci continued.
The most eternal truth in existence was that nothing remained unchanged.
Though their relationship was stable now, who could say what the future held? Compared to Su Ci, A-Yan was still so young. One day, his feelings might fade, or cracks might appear between them.
While the thought was tinged with sadness, Su Ci didn’t mind too much.
As long as A-Yan was alive—existing for an eternity—that would be enough. Having lived through countless separations by death, Su Ci already considered parting by choice a form of fortune.
A-Yan gazed into Su Ci’s eyes and once again sensed that deep-seated loneliness within him.
He understood.
Despite Su Ci’s insistence on keeping him close, there was a lingering pessimism in his subconscious, prompting him to explain things and leave an escape route for the future.
But…
A-Yan tightened his embrace, burying his face into Su Ci’s neck and inhaling deeply. His voice was hoarse as he said, “I only wish I could bind you to me forever, fuse you into my very being. You have no idea what you mean to me.”
At first, A-Yan only wanted to stay by Su Ci’s side—as a friend, a family member, or a partner. Any role that allowed him to remain close was enough.
But ten years together had made him greedy.
He wanted to hold the position of Su Ci’s eternal partner, to be the most special and irreplaceable person in his heart—one that no one else could take.
To be the one who embraced Su Ci and shared intimate moments with him, so close that no barriers remained, was a role he would never relinquish to anyone else.
Su Ci pondered briefly before speaking again. “I’ve explained everything to you… So, do you still want to form this bond with me, even if it becomes an unbreakable rule?”
“Yes. Will you marry me?” A-Yan’s voice held a trace of pleading.
Su Ci’s lips curved into a small smile. “Alright.”
A-Yan froze, his wide eyes tinged with red as he stared at Su Ci in surprise. “You… you said yes?”
Su Ci smiled faintly. This wasn’t a particularly significant matter to him. Yet, seeing the joy in A-Yan’s eyes and his nervous expression, Su Ci felt a unique, unprecedented delight.
He didn’t answer A-Yan’s redundant question. Instead, he leaned in slightly and kissed him gently, softly capturing his lips.
Normally, Su Ci was the passive one in such moments.
A-Yan enjoyed it, and Su Ci found it comfortable, so he let A-Yan take the lead. But recently, Su Ci had discovered the fun of taking the initiative.
Every time he did, A-Yan’s reactions were fascinating.
He would get flustered, his heartbeat would race, and his breathing would grow erratic. It was amusing how a simple kiss from Su Ci could fluster A-Yan more than anything A-Yan had done to him—despite those moments being far more intense.
Today, however, A-Yan was slightly different.
He wasn’t as impatient as usual. Or rather, he was holding himself back, waiting for Su Ci to give him more.
In a rare playful mood, Su Ci obliged.
He deepened the kiss, savoring the warmth and softness of A-Yan’s lips. As his tongue gently traced over A-Yan’s, he felt the subtle tremor that ran through A-Yan’s body.
Su Ci was a quick learner, and after being kissed awake by A-Yan every day for ten years, he had come to understand exactly what made a kiss feel the most comfortable. He simply hadn’t taken the initiative before.
Now, he intertwined himself with A-Yan, one hand cupping the young man’s cheek while the other restlessly stroked the fluffy tail behind him.
Although the tail was a transformation, it was a real part of A-Yan, complete with all the sensations it should have.
Su Ci knew exactly where A-Yan’s sensitive spots were. A single touch there could bring a flush to A-Yan’s face and quicken his breathing.
“Su… Su Su…”
Their lips parted slightly, lingering close together. A-Yan half-closed his eyes, his restrained expression carrying a hint of grievance, as if he were being teased.
“Don’t… don’t do this…” he murmured softly.
Su Ci tilted his head slightly. “Really? You don’t want this?”
“……”
A-Yan had never experienced this before. Until now, Su Ci had rarely initiated kisses, let alone anything more. He was caught off guard, unable to maintain composure, yet he was undeniably elated.
At this moment, he finally felt certain—he had truly made his way into Su Ci’s heart. Su Ci wasn’t just responding to his affections but was willingly expressing his feelings in return.
Surely, someone who didn’t care wouldn’t go out of their way to do such things, right?
In the end, A-Yan gave in to his desires.
He swallowed his embarrassment and surrendered himself entirely to Su Ci’s lead. Yet, he didn’t dare to meet Su Ci’s gaze—those warm, smiling eyes were too much for him to handle.
A-Yan couldn’t help but think of Su Lü. His eyes always carried a faint curve, as if he were smiling, though the warmth never truly reached his gaze.
But when Su Ci looked at him with that smile, it carried a hint of genuine affection, and that was terrifying.
A-Yan didn’t dare look, afraid it was just his imagination.
He felt Su Ci pause for a moment, leaning in slightly closer.
A-Yan lowered his head, looking confused and slightly aggrieved, like a little dog that had been teased but couldn’t retaliate. His misty eyes made him look irresistibly endearing.
“How are you this adorable?” Su Ci murmured, lifting his head to gently peck A-Yan’s lips.
A-Yan tried to protest but was quickly overpowered, eventually burying his face in Su Ci’s shoulder, refusing to let him see his expression any longer.
High in the sky, the purple crescent moon hung prominently, while the blue crescent was just beginning to rise. The shimmering sea reflected the dual moons, creating a dreamlike and breathtakingly beautiful scene.
On the sofa by the pool, two figures sat quietly, embracing each other.
Su Ci had once again grown languid, while A-Yan’s face held a look of pure satisfaction. He clung tightly to Su Ci, unable to suppress his delight, occasionally planting kisses on him as his excitement bubbled over.
“Su Su, Su Su…”
A-Yan rubbed his chin affectionately against Su Ci’s head, much like an overexcited puppy, unable to sit still.
In contrast, Su Ci lacked A-Yan’s energy.
At this moment, he didn’t want to move a finger, or even think. Naturally, he ignored A-Yan’s exuberance and didn’t bother resisting either.
He couldn’t help but think that youthful spirits truly had an abundance of energy—boundless and seemingly inexhaustible. He wondered if A-Yan would still be this lively thousands of years from now.
“A-Yan,” Su Ci called softly.
“Hmm?”
A-Yan’s cheerful tone betrayed his excellent mood.
“Are you really that happy?” Su Ci asked, his own lips curving upward slightly.
He realized that leaving Earth Star had indeed helped him relax. The burdens of the past seemed to weigh less heavily on him now, and his memories no longer held the same power to trap him.
Of course, he also knew that much of this was because A-Yan was by his side.
“How could I not be happy?”
A-Yan took Su Ci’s hand, pressing a tender kiss into his palm before resting his cheek against it. “I’ll remember this day forever. I’ll always treasure the happiness you’ve brought me.”
Su Ci opened his mouth as if to respond, but in the end, he said nothing.
A-Yan was different from him. Just as Su Ci now had A-Yan to lean on emotionally, A-Yan also had Su Ci.
A-Yan could hold onto these happy memories without fear of pain because Su Ci couldn’t bear to let him suffer.
With that thought, Su Ci closed his eyes again.
Fine…
It’s not like I do this often anyway. Let him enjoy himself a bit longer.
Snuggling into A-Yan’s embrace, Su Ci listened to the strong, steady beat of his heart and slowly drifted off to sleep.
After that day, Su Ci and A-Yan stayed at the hotel for several more days before setting out to explore the planet’s attractions.
They didn’t use any spiritual powers, opting instead for ordinary human transportation. Sometimes, they even walked parts of the way on foot, spending significant time simply traveling.
For them, the journey itself held more meaning than the destination.
At every scenic spot, they stayed for a month or two. Sometimes, they lingered in one place for days, waiting patiently to witness a rare natural wonder.
The journey was never boring; instead, it was filled with a pleasant sense of ease and contentment.
After that night, it seemed A-Yan had forgotten all about his talk of marriage. Su Ci hadn’t heard him mention it again. Though a small part of him felt disappointed, he chose not to bring it up either, maintaining their unspoken understanding.
It wasn’t until they finished their journey on this planet and were preparing to leave that A-Yan summoned the ancient door again.
With a playful, mysterious smile on his face, A-Yan turned to Su Ci and said, “This time, let me open the door.”
Su Ci couldn’t help but suspect A-Yan had been planning something behind his back. Seeing A-Yan’s attempt at a nonchalant demeanor—poorly hiding a trace of pride—Su Ci simply nodded.
“Ah, wait.”
A-Yan suddenly stopped and turned to him. “To keep the surprise fresh, Su Su, why don’t you close your eyes first?”
Su Ci’s suspicions grew stronger.
He hesitated for a moment but eventually closed his eyes, refraining from using his spiritual senses as well.
Since it was A-Yan’s “surprise,” he figured he might as well play along. Pretending wasn’t too difficult for him, after all.
However, when A-Yan opened the ancient door and pulled him through, Su Ci abruptly froze.
Even without using his spiritual senses, he could clearly feel it…
“Su Su, you can open your eyes now,” A-Yan’s voice said softly.
Su Ci slowly opened his eyes, and what greeted him was a bustling marketplace. But unlike the previous planet, this place was entirely different—
The people walking through the streets were dressed in traditional, ancient robes. Overhead, cultivators flew by, riding various magical artifacts.
This was Earth Star—Earth Star from tens of millions of years ago.
