Chapter 7: Does the Little Monster… Like Him?
Qin Zelin: “…”
He… He was taking pictures of him. Did that mean he wanted to look at them whenever he pleased?
The moment the thought surfaced, Qin Zelin himself paused.
Could the little monster have fallen for him?
Little Li stood nearby, barely daring to breathe as she secretly stole a glance at Qin Zelin.
It was said that their young master hated having cameras pointed at him more than anything. A few years ago, when he had first taken over the Qin Corporation, several media outlets had staked him out and secretly photographed him. Later…
No media outlet ever dared to take candid photos of him again.
At the table, Cen Miao took several pictures in a row before lowering his phone and picking up his glass of milk for a sip.
When he set it down, a little milk remained at the corner of his lips.
He instinctively stuck out the tip of his tongue and quickly swept it along his lip line. The white smudge vanished in an instant, leaving only a moist, faintly glistening trace behind.
He had no idea that, in the eyes of the person across from him, the scene seemed to stretch and magnify endlessly in slow motion.
Qin Zelin’s Adam’s apple bobbed uncontrollably. His gaze abruptly darkened, as though nailed in place. All he could see were those soft lips he had just moistened and the fleeting flash of his rosy tongue.
The sweet, cloying scent of milk seemed to fill the air.
He suddenly felt a little hot.
The maid beside them was terrified by Qin Zelin’s expression, which had instantly turned cold and grim. She was just about to summon the courage to explain on Cen Miao’s behalf when Qin Zelin’s deep, slightly hoarse voice sounded first.
“If the corner of your mouth is dirty, use a napkin.”
Little Li froze.
“…?”
Wait, that was the issue?
So it didn’t matter how he wiped his mouth?
She understood now!
The madam was special! He could take as many photos as he wanted!
Young Master, you truly love your husband!
Cen Miao was already sulking because Qin Zelin had forced him to eat grass. Hearing that, he angrily took another sip of milk, then stuck out his tongue and provocatively licked away the milk at the corner of his lips.
Hmph! He refused to wipe it!
“…”
Was he trying to attract his attention?
Qin Zelin swallowed the food in his mouth and glanced up at Little Li.
There was an outsider present… so it wasn’t convenient to reiterate the nature of their relationship right now.
Little Li, however, wore the delighted expression of someone watching her favorite couple come true.
“Young Master and sir have such a wonderful relationship.”
Cen Miao had no idea what having a wonderful relationship meant, but he felt that he had gotten his revenge. In an excellent mood, he patted his bottom and walked away.
Only Qin Zelin remained, staring thoughtfully at the empty chair.
Even Little Li could tell that Cen Miao liked him?
It seemed his instincts had been correct.
He would make things clear once they were alone later.
In the living room, Cen Miao curled up on the sofa and sent the close-up photos he had just taken of Qin Zelin’s face to Chengcheng.
Less than three seconds later, Chengcheng called.
“Miaomiao, didn’t you say you were the one who took a wife? How is this… a man?”
And an incredibly handsome man who looked like the ultimate domineering top at first glance.
The photos had been taken from terrible angles, with Qin Zelin’s face occupying ninety-nine percent of every shot.
But with that face and that aura… no matter how Chengcheng looked at it, Cen Miao was clearly the little wife who had been married off.
“I registered my marriage with him yesterday,” Cen Miao replied matter-of-factly.
Hadn’t Chengcheng said that getting married meant taking a wife?
“…”
Chengcheng fell silent for several seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was lower and carried a mysterious note.
“Baby, can I ask you something kind of personal? Have you two… done it? Are you sure… you’re the one on top?”
Cen Miao recalled what had happened in the dining room and nodded into the phone.
“Mm. We sat.”
“You were on top? You topped that ultimate gong? What did it feel like, baby?!”
After taking a breath, Cen Miao finished the sentence he had only said halfway.
“He was sitting… across from me while we ate. What’s an ultimate gong?”
Chengcheng: “………”
After an even longer silence, Chengcheng spoke in a complicated tone.
“Baby, forgive me for saying this, but is it possible that you’re actually the little wife he married?”
Cen Miao froze.
“Hm? I’m the wife?”
“Almost certainly.” Chengcheng pursed his lips on the other end, unable to understand how Cen Miao could look at a man with such an overwhelming aura and still firmly believe that he was the bottom.
Cen Miao: “…”
Then when he had said last night that Qin Zelin was the wife… had he already exposed himself?
“Oh, right, baby. Now that you’re married, do you still need to work part-time?” Chengcheng asked uncertainly, recalling the noble, expensive-looking face in the photo.
“I need to make money! I have to make money! I need to help share the burden!” Cen Miao replied anxiously, his mind filled with beef jerky.
Chengcheng: “…”
Could he be a pretty boy?
All looks and nothing else?
Did he actually expect Cen Miao to support him?
“Your idiot younger brother made it impossible for you to keep working at that coffee shop, right? Senior Xu opened an escape room and is hiring part-timers. Do you want to come work there with me?” Chengcheng asked.
Cen Miao’s eyes instantly lit up.
“!!!”
If he could earn money, wouldn’t he be able to buy lots of the beef jerky he had eaten yesterday?
He hurriedly replied, “I’ll go! I’ll go!”
But then he reconsidered and hesitated.
“But what kind of… work is it? Will it be difficult?”
“Don’t worry, it’s really easy,” Chengcheng said lightly. “You’ll just be an NPC. You dress up as a zombie and scare people inside the escape room.”
Cen Miao: “………??”
Be a zombie?
“Although with your face, it might be a little difficult to make you look like a zombie. We can just put heavier makeup on you when the time comes,” Chengcheng muttered to himself on the other end.
“It won’t be difficult! It really won’t! I’m the best at being a zombie! I’m very scary! Don’t worry!” Cen Miao puffed out his little chest, his voice rising with complete confidence.
He didn’t need to pretend!
He was a zombie!
He never imagined that humans could make money by pretending to be zombies.
If this had been his own world, where he was already a zombie, wouldn’t he have been rich enough to own an entire room full of beef jerky?
Imagining Cen Miao saying something so arrogant with that soft, cake-like face, Chengcheng burst out laughing.
“Hahahahaha! Got it. I’ll tell Senior Xu.”
“Mm!”
At the thought of earning money and buying piles of beef jerky, Cen Miao was still smiling even after the call ended.
Meanwhile, after finishing breakfast, Qin Zelin was about to head upstairs when his gaze casually swept across the living room.
From a distance, he saw Cen Miao curled up on the sofa, talking to someone on the phone. His small face was filled with undisguised happiness.
Qin Zelin paused briefly, then continued upstairs as though nothing had happened.
When he came back down, he was holding a bank card.
He walked over to the sofa, looked down at the person curled up there, and held out the card.
“Use this card for now. The initial PIN is 123456. Tell me when you’ve spent the money on it.”
Cen Miao: “…?”
It was one of the cards humans used to buy supplies!
He wanted it so badly.
But… Qin Zelin had so many people to support. He had to be very poor.
Cen Miao reached out and stroked the card, then reluctantly pushed it back.
“You should keep it to buy food. I’m going to have a job too, so I can make my own money.”
Qin Zelin was utterly baffled.
Was there some rumor going around that Huanyu Group was about to go bankrupt?
“Just take it since I’m giving it to you. You don’t have to work if you don’t like the job. Tell me if you need more money.”
After thinking for a moment, Qin Zelin worried that Cen Miao might misunderstand and assume he liked him too, so he added, “Grandpa promised to take care of you. I’m merely fulfilling that promise on his behalf. You can think of it as money from Grandpa.”
“Oh! Then thank you, Grandpa!”
Qin Zelin: “………………?”
