Chapter 4: Sharing a Bed Is Only a Matter of Time~
[AAA Uncle Lin] Old Master! It worked! Young Master brought him straight home!
[AAA Uncle Lin] He’s incredibly good-looking! Young Master must have fallen in love at first sight!

[Qin Jianye] He brought him home? That blockhead is capable of love at first sight?
“Uncle Lin, this is Cen Miao. We’ve registered our marriage. Have someone prepare a room for him on the second floor. He’ll be staying there from now on.”
“?”
The second floor?
They were legally married, so why would he stay on the second floor?
Shouldn’t he be sleeping in your bed?
Uncle Lin hurriedly put away his phone as an idea struck him.
“Oh dear, look at my memory! The shower on the second floor is broken, and I haven’t called anyone to repair it yet. Why not let your husband stay with you instead?”
Qin Zelin cast Uncle Lin a dark look. He met the older man’s utterly guiltless gaze and, after a long silence, compromised.
“Then prepare one of the other rooms on the third floor for now.”
Uncle Lin: “…”
Was he shy because they had just gotten married?
Still, at least they would be living on the same floor. They would see each other every day and could slowly develop feelings.
Sharing a bed was only a matter of time.
“Yes, Young Master.”
“I still have a meeting at the company. Rest in the living room for a while, and go upstairs once the room on the third floor is ready.” Qin Zelin raised his wrist to check the time as he spoke to Cen Miao.
Cen Miao obediently nodded and glanced around the place where he would be living from now on.
The house was so enormous, and Qin Zelin had so many people to support. He must have spent all his money already.
He was probably going out to earn money to buy food.
How exhausting.
“Mm. Remember to rest… when you’re tired.”
His soft voice brushed across Qin Zelin’s ears like a feather. Qin Zelin’s expression turned unnatural for a moment before he quietly replied, “Mm.”
After Qin Zelin left, Uncle Lin hurriedly led Cen Miao toward the sofa. Seeing him clutching several bags of beef jerky tightly in his arms, he smiled warmly.
“Sir, put those bags down and have a rest. I’ll ask the kitchen to cut some fruit for you.”
“Thank you, Uncle Lin. My name is Cen Miao.”
Not “sir.”
“Oh, there’s no need to be so polite, sir.”
“…”
Uncle Lin walked toward the kitchen with a cheerful smile, pulling out his phone to continue reporting.
[AAA Uncle Lin] Old Master! Young Master and Young Master Cen went straight to register their marriage!!
[AAA Uncle Lin] But Young Master seems a little shy. He wants to sleep in a separate room.
[Qin Jianye] Shy, my ass! With that brain of his? He’s just trying to defy me!
[Qin Jianye] The eldest was born to two people whose heads were full of romance, and he turned out exactly like them, dragging his wife all over the world.
[Qin Jianye] Then I finally got a steady second grandson, but steady is all he is. His head contains nothing except work.
[Qin Jianye] He refused no matter what before, and now he suddenly registers the marriage only to sleep in separate rooms. He’s trying to anger me to death.
[AAA Uncle Lin] Oh, but Young Master has done such a wonderful job as your successor.
[Qin Jianye] Without me, he’d die alone.
[Qin Jianye] Keep an eye on things. Don’t let Cen Miao suffer any grievances. This was Old Cen’s only wish before he passed away, so I have to help fulfill it.
[AAA Uncle Lin] Don’t worry, Old Master.
In the living room, Cen Miao opened a bag of beef jerky and began eating.
It smelled… so good.
How could it taste this delicious?
Why… was the whole bag gone so quickly?
Awooo! He wanted more!
“…”
Should he eat another bag?
He remembered that the original owner of this body had worked to earn money before. Cen Miao could help share the burden in the future too.
“Sir, have some fruit. From now on, you can tell me whenever you want something to eat. You can call me Aunt Wang like everyone else does.” Aunt Wang set down the fruit platter and looked at Cen Miao with a kindly expression.
“Okay. Thank you, Aunt Wang. My name is Cen Miao.”
“You’re very welcome, sir.”
Cen Miao: “…”
Sigh.
My name is Cen Miao.
It was after six when Qin Zelin finally returned home from a long meeting. Several empty beef jerky bags were already piled on the coffee table, and the large fruit platter had been completely cleaned out.
Cen Miao was fast asleep beneath a soft wool blanket. His long lashes rested against his eyelids, and even his cheeks had turned pink.
“Why didn’t you have him sleep upstairs?” Qin Zelin frowned slightly as he looked at the person curled into a ball on the sofa and questioned the young maid beside him.
Before the maid could answer, the person on the sofa seemed to have slept enough. Cen Miao stirred and stretched, then opened his eyes and immediately met Qin Zelin’s gaze.
“You’re back!”
Cen Miao smiled, his lazy voice carrying an unconscious note of delight.
Qin Zelin looked at the joy filling his large, round eyes. An image flashed through his mind of a puppy wagging its tail at him, and his heart felt as though it had been lightly scratched by a soft little paw.
He was about to reply when he noticed the empty beef jerky bags on the coffee table. His expression unconsciously cooled again.
“Why did you eat so many snacks before dinner?”
Feeling guilty, Cen Miao sat up and picked at the sofa with his index finger.
“You said I could eat… as much as I wanted. Besides, I’ll earn money… to buy food too. I won’t make you work hard… to support everything alone.”
The young maid: “…?”
Had something happened to Huanyu Group?
Was the boss going bankrupt?
Qin Zelin choked on his words.
“I’m not stopping you because it’s expensive. No, that’s not right. It isn’t expensive. It’s…”
“…”
Cen Miao: ?_??
It wasn’t because it was expensive?
Then why wouldn’t he let Cen Miao eat it?
Stingy human!
(?-_-)?~??
“Young Master, sir, dinner is ready.”
“Let’s eat first.” Qin Zelin sighed helplessly, then turned and went upstairs to change.
Even though this was only a contractual marriage, Cen Miao was still someone his grandfather wanted him to care for.
He would have to slowly correct bad habits like this. Otherwise, Cen Miao might not be able to take care of himself after their divorce, and Qin Zelin would still be the one worrying about him.
Dinner was Western-style. Cen Miao was especially interested in the golden cheese-baked potato on his plate. After tentatively taking a few bites, he discovered that the cheese on top tasted much better than the potato underneath.
Once he had scraped away all the cheese, Cen Miao was about to spear the entire steak with his fork when a cold voice came from across the table.
“Cut it with the knife before eating.”
“Oh.”
Cen Miao pouted, picked up the knife, and imitated Qin Zelin as he cut the steak and ate.
Sigh. A zombie living under another’s roof had no choice but to bow his head.
(?•?·?•??)
After finishing the entire steak, he looked at the potato beside it and swallowed. Then he raised his eyes expectantly and asked in a small voice, “I want more of the thing… on top. Can I?”
Only then did Qin Zelin notice Cen Miao’s plate.
The cheese and beef had been completely devoured, while the vegetables and potato remained untouched.
His preferences were unmistakably clear.
“Finish what’s left on your plate, and you can have another serving of cheese.”
Cen Miao looked at the grass on his plate, his little face scrunching up. He hurriedly waved his hands.
“Then I’m full. I can’t eat anymore.”
We zombies are different from humans.
We don’t eat grass.
The two stared silently at each other for a long moment. Under the pressure of Qin Zelin’s imposing presence, Cen Miao’s guilty gaze began drifting all over the place, making the young maid beside them struggle not to laugh.
“Finish it.” Qin Zelin withdrew his gaze and lowered his head to continue cutting his steak, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Across from him, Cen Miao confronted the grass for a long time.
Then he shut his eyes, steeled himself, and began swallowing it.
It tasted awful! Blech~
Blech~
Blech~
Qin Zelin glanced at his face, which had scrunched up like a bitter little melon, and the corner of his mouth curved almost imperceptibly.
“Little Li, bring him another serving of cheese,” Qin Zelin instructed in a low voice.
“Yes, Young Master.” The maid beside them nodded and headed toward the kitchen.
In the living room, the phone inside Cen Miao’s backpack kept flashing, its silent mode having been activated by accident.
Before long, several more WeChat notifications appeared on the screen.
