After listening to Ye Xuan’s voice message, Xia Chenxi followed the location Ye Xuan sent and arrived where he was.
A figure leaned against the corner of the wall, fiddling with his wristband. The faint light fell across Ye Xuan’s face, and in his hand, he was clutching the rope of a metal net. The person inside the metal net was motionless.
Xia Chenxi walked to Ye Xuan’s side. Like a thief, Ye Xuan immediately turned off his wristband. He did not want Xia Chenxi to notice that he had been anxiously waiting for him, but unfortunately, he had never studied acting, and his acting skills were terrible.

“I’ve been fighting zombies outside for so long that I’m numb to the smell of blood. The mission finally ended, and you plan to eat instant noodles with me?”
Ye Xuan also felt that it was inappropriate, but he did not know what else there was to eat. Were the two of them supposed to return to their most primitive state and graze outside like old oxen?

Ye Xuan followed behind Xia Chenxi.

Ye Xuan scratched his cheek. “Follow arrangements.”

Inside the elevator, Xia Chenxi swiped his wristband and pressed Floor B1.

When the doors opened, Ye Xuan’s eyes widened. B1 was actually a supermarket.
“This is a lifestyle supermarket only open to official team members. The base has limited space, so it was set up on B1 of the hospital.”
Ye Xuan had been completely drawn to the watermelons not far away. He had not heard a word Xia Chenxi said.
“Want some? Go take a look.”
Ye Xuan walked closer to the shelf. After seeing the price clearly, he turned around immediately.
Two hundred for one watermelon. Why did they not just rob people?
Xia Chenxi picked around and chose a watermelon.
“Hey, Xia Chenxi.” Realizing someone was looking at him, Ye Xuan lowered his voice. “Are you crazy? One watermelon is two hundred. That’s pure extortion.”
“Didn’t you want to eat it? If you want it, then buy it. Let’s go get a cart, then see what else you want to eat.” Xia Chenxi was very calm, as if the melon in his arms cost two cents instead of two hundred.

Ye Xuan tightened his grip on the corner of his clothes and asked Xia Chenxi, “Why are you so good to me?”

Ye Xuan lowered his head. That was clearly not what he meant. Xia Chenxi was so good to him, and he had no way to repay it.
“Stop dawdling here. The staff at the lifestyle supermarket are going to get off work soon.”
The two of them pulled a cart and chose some groceries. Most of them were picked by Xia Chenxi. Ye Xuan had been frightened by the price of the watermelon. If he picked another expensive item, his heart would not be able to take it.
After they finished choosing, Xia Chenxi pushed the cart to the checkout. The total was 350 yuan. He did not even blink before swiping his wristband to pay.

“I can wash vegetables and cut them for you. I can’t just do nothing and only eat and drink for free.”
Xia Chenxi revealed a gratified expression like a parent seeing his child finally grow up.
He pointed at the crucian carp in the bag that still had a breath left in it and asked, “Do you know how to kill fish?”
