Chapter 60: Transmigrated as a Stingy Phoenix Man (60)
“…Are you injured?” The moment Cen Yu stepped out, someone immediately noticed the patches on his body.
“Pulled a muscle in my back,” Cen Yu said without batting an eye.
Pei Zhuo: “?”
Do people put patches on their lower abs for a pulled back muscle?
Looking at the patches on Cen Yu’s body, Yu Huaining recalled his earlier quiet conversation with the director. Leaning in slightly to take a closer look, he suddenly felt as if he had pieced everything together.
He deliberately chimed in, “…Ah, is that a tattoo?”
The moment he finished, he immediately looked at Cen Yu with an expression full of admiration. “I think massive tattoos like that look so cool.”
[…Huh? A tattoo? Our sister-in-law has a tattoo that covers that much ground?]
[Slurp slurp, those patches are sticking right down to the edge of his swim trunks! Just how far down does that tattoo go?! What is there that we family members aren’t allowed to see?! Show me!]
[I can’t stand this! I told you Sang Qianshan’s friend wasn’t a decent guy! He snapped at Ningning earlier like that, he’s definitely a hooligan!]
[What kind of brain-dead stereotype is the commenter above running on?? What did tattoos ever do to you?]
And just like that, the bullet chat flared up into another argument over this potential tattoo.
Cen Yu, naturally, had no idea. Glancing at Yu Huaining—who was clearly trying to stir the pot—he felt immensely grateful for the man’s generous effort to provoke drama. “Yeah,” he admitted deliberately. “I got it back when I was in school.”
How about that?! Come on, hurry up and criticize me!
Cen Yu still remembered the original plot: the second everyone discovered the original host’s tattoos, they immediately blasted him as a scumbag, a player, and a shady character.
Earlier, he had been fretting over how to let everyone know that the areas hidden beneath these patches were actually tattoos. He certainly hadn’t expected Yu Huaining to hand him a pillow just as he was getting sleepy.
“…Oh my, you got a tattoo back when you were in school?” Yu Huaining instantly played along, wearing a look of sheer surprise.
Cen Yu intentionally refrained from clarifying that he had gotten it during college.
It was all to watch Yu Huaining act, and while he was at it, see how the internet water army planned to smear him.
Heh, go ahead and smear me a little more.
“What’s wrong with having a tattoo?” Jian Zhou frowned, looking visibly fed up with Yu Huaining’s passive-aggressive tone.
He couldn’t fathom why this guy had so much nonsense to say. Tons of people in the entertainment industry had tattoos, not to mention Cen Yu was just a civilian.
Noticing his rising temper, his civilian friend gently tugged at the hem of his shirt.
Jian Zhou realized he had acted a bit impulsively…
He cast a glance at Yu Huaining, ultimately staying quiet.
At first, Yu Huaining couldn’t figure out why that lunatic Jian Zhou was sticking up for Cen Yu. But a second later, he spotted a tiny tattoo on the wrist of Jian Zhou’s civilian friend.
It looked somewhat like a tree.
He had only intended to target Cen Yu and had no desire to drag Jian Zhou into it. Just as he was about to say something to smooth things over, Sang Qianshan suddenly barked in annoyance—
“I was the one who gave Little Yu that tattoo.”
“Got a problem with that?”
Seemingly completely unaware of the bombshell he had just dropped, he stated as a matter of fact, “I gave Little Yu the tattoo on his body, and I picked out the design, too.”
[…Family members?? Did I hear that wrong??]
[Nope! Pure fans, stop struggling and just wish our boy and sister-in-law 99 years of happiness! (heart)]
[Sending a 50-yuan wedding gift!]
“…” Cen Yu watched as almost everyone’s expression shifted from `=L=` to `0_0`!
Even a few of the girls were giving them “So brave, best wishes” looks.
“…I was working for him,” Cen Yu immediately cleared the air. “He was looking for a model back then, and I happened to be short on cash, so I modeled for him.”
He put heavy emphasis on “short on cash” and “modeled.”
“Yeah, and then we became friends.”
“So that’s how you two met?” Pei Zhuo said.
Having arrived together with Yu Jinheng, he naturally remembered that Cen Yu’s partner was Yu Jinheng’s younger brother… He carefully observed Yu Jinheng’s reaction, only to see the man’s face remain entirely flat, as though he had zero interest in the squabble taking place here.
It seemed he truly didn’t care much about his younger brother’s little boyfriend.
Pei Zhuo reached a conclusion in his mind.
Seeing that the show was about to derail, the director quickly picked up his megaphone and shouted that it was getting late, urging everyone to hurry into the pool for the match.
And so, several people stepped into the villa’s swimming pool—
“Two laps back and forth!” the director yelled at the top of his lungs.
“First to finish gets first pick of the ingredients!”
Cen Yu warmed up his body slightly before stepping up to the edge of the pool. Glancing at Sang Qianshan standing off to the side, he found the man looking extraordinarily tense—like a parent attending his kid’s kindergarten sports day for the very first time.
“It’s the taking part that counts,” Sang Qianshan blurted out the moment he caught Cen Yu looking at him.
Hearing this, Cen Yu immediately flashed him an “OK” gesture.
Next to Cen Yu stood Pei Zhuo, followed by Wei Ke and the others.
The moment the director blew the starting whistle, the group plunged into the water all at once.
Upon entering the pool, Cen Yu instantly exerted his strength and shot forward. The production team seemed to have planned this event well in advance, complete with underwater cameras capturing their dive.
However, the livestream audience couldn’t see the underwater footage; they would have to wait for the edited broadcast version later on.
Over on the poolside, Yu Jinheng checked a message on his phone before quietly slipping away from the edge of the pool…
The director and crew all knew who the real financial backer was here, so naturally, he was free to do whatever he pleased. Nobody paid any mind to his departure, save for Sang Qianshan, who threw a couple extra glances his way.
Yu Jinheng looked at Yu Xinyu, who was standing right at the entrance of the villa.
“You came after all.”
Yu Xinyu was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and linen trousers. He carried no luggage, which suggested he had likely left his bags at a nearby hotel.
“If I didn’t come, was I supposed to just watch Little Yu get carried off by a stray dog?” Yu Xinyu replied with a bright smile, though his words dripped with hostility.
He held an opened coconut in his hand, looking entirely like he was dressed for a tropical vacation.
“Guess who I ran into at the hotel, Big Brother?”
“Who.”
“Lou Baichuan.”
Yu Xinyu smiled sweetly. “Why do you think there are so many blind people in this world?”
“Coveting something that clearly belongs to someone else.”
Yu Jinheng studied Yu Xinyu for a moment. Yu Xinyu, meanwhile, held out the coconut toward his elder brother. “Just bought it. Want a sip, Big Brother?”
Yu Jinheng looked down at the offered coconut.
He reached out and took it. As if completely blind to the faint red trace near the opening, he took a sip—and immediately broke into a violent fit of coughing.
Chili oil had been mixed into the coconut water. Yu Jinheng preferred bland food and was in delicate health; something like this was bound to make him suffer.
Both he and Yu Xinyu knew that Yu Jinheng had seen it, yet he had drunk it anyway.
Yu Xinyu simply watched his elder brother cough uncontrollably, waiting a moment before handing over the bottled mineral water he had brought along.
Yu Jinheng took it, rinsed his mouth, and chugged a few gulps of water before his coughing fit finally subsided.
He looked at Yu Xinyu. “Are you really going to do this?”
Yu Xinyu turned his gaze toward the villa. Who knows what ran through his mind, but in the end, he turned back to his elder brother and said, “I just want to take him somewhere else. Somewhere without all these pests.”
