My Cherry Will Explode in the Apocalypse – CH105

Prison Terror — Part Two

Chapter 105: Prison Terror — Part Two

After hearing what Fifth Master and his people were saying, Wu Jing didn’t linger any longer. She immediately returned to inform her teammates of the despicable plot these shameless scum were planning.

It was the dead of winter, and everyone had been sitting around the fire, so a bit of mist in the room was perfectly normal. As a result, Fifth Master and the others didn’t notice anything amiss at all, completely unaware that their conspiracy had already been thoroughly exposed.

Even though Zhan Yun and his group had already been mentally prepared for ill intentions, they were still utterly shocked by how utterly bottomless these people were.

They actually ate people?!
Were they even human anymore?!

“Tonight’s meat soup…?” After making the connection, Zheng Jiahe’s face changed instantly. He’d wondered how, in this kind of weather and environment, they could possibly have been lucky enough to get fresh meat to eat!

Luckily, Brother Zhan had been vigilant enough—otherwise, they really would have fallen into the trap.

At this moment, however, Zhan Yun and Su Ruizhe looked even worse. Both of them had thought of Su Ruizhe’s previous life—how his ability core had been dug out. Just imagining his lover dying so miserably, and his body possibly even being eaten afterward, made Zhan Yun’s heart erupt in raging fury. He wished nothing more than to grind those damn bastards to dust and scatter their ashes!

“How are the people outside?” Zhan Yun asked.

At the time, all the leftover noodle-and-meat soup from that huge pot had been sent to the survivors outside. If anything had been done to the food, it must have been in the soup.

“When I came back, I saw they were all asleep—no movement at all,” Wu Jing said. She couldn’t tell exactly what had been added to the food; the people hadn’t explained it clearly before, but it was probably some kind of sleeping drug.

An hour passed quickly. Fifth Master and the others decided to take action, and Cao Qishen arrived as well, accompanied by a white-haired old man.

“Boss, there’s no need for you to come personally,” Fifth Master said quietly as he leaned in. “They’ve already eaten everything. With the Doctor here, dealing with them will be easy as pie. There’s no need for you to make a trip yourself.”

“It’s better to be cautious,” Cao Qishen replied. As the leader, his mind was more guarded than that of his subordinates. For some reason, he felt uneasy, which was why he had come with the Doctor.

The one called “Doctor” was the white-haired old man. His back was hunched, he wore cracked glasses and a shabby cotton coat, and he looked quite disheveled. His facial features appeared especially mean due to his wrinkled skin, and his inverted triangle eyes gleamed with a beast-like excitement and hunger.

The Doctor took out two vials of an oddly colored pale-blue liquid from his pocket and handed them to Old Fifth and Old Second.

“Move!”

Dozens of people rushed out of the room, splitting into two groups and heading in different directions.

Old Second led seven or eight men toward the snow patrol vehicle. There were only a few people left guarding it, and if they’d eaten the meat soup, they wouldn’t have any fighting ability at all—dealing with them would be effortless. He’d had his eye on that large vehicle for a long time; it looked solid and could move freely across snow. Living in it would mean never worrying about freezing again!

Meanwhile, Old Fifth led the remaining nearly twenty people straight toward the cell block at the back. They moved quietly, sneaking up to the door of Zhan Yun’s room, then poured the blue liquid from their bottles onto the ground.

The blue liquid almost instantly turned into a transparent gas upon contact with the air and drifted into the room.

After waiting two or three minutes and confirming there was no movement inside, Fifth Master kicked the door open, intending to catch them like fish in a barrel—however…

What he faced were several dark gun barrels pointed straight at him.

Although the guns were oddly colored, he immediately recognized them: MP5s, commonly seen in foreign action films—firearms that combined power, accuracy, and portability.

“Wait—” Fifth Master seemed to want to say something, but Zhan Yun had no interest in listening. He opened fire without mercy.

Plant-based bullets had special effects on zombies, but against humans, they worked just like ordinary bullets.

“Rat-tat-tat—”

Fifth Master, who had rushed in at the front, was instantly riddled like a honeycomb, blood spraying everywhere. The men behind him, charging in blindly, never imagined the situation inside would be like this. They were caught completely off guard by the overwhelming firepower. Against the MP5s, the pistols in their hands were like children’s toys. In an instant, the scene turned into a living hell, engulfed in screams and blood.

Even in death, they couldn’t understand why these people hadn’t fallen unconscious like the ones outside, or why the hypnotic gas released afterward hadn’t worked… let alone where the MP5s had come from—they clearly hadn’t brought any weapons with them, had they?

Standing at the entrance of the cell block, Cao Qishen and the Doctor—who had been certain of victory—both changed expression the moment they heard the gunfire.

Cao Qishen immediately fled, moving with astonishing speed, as a layer of metallic armor enveloped his body. His metal-type ability was both offensive and defensive, and using it to save his life at this moment was perfectly fitting.

The Doctor, however, wasn’t so lucky. He was old and not an ability user—no matter how much he wanted to run, he simply couldn’t.

He watched in horror as two panicked men ahead of him were shot into bloody sieves. Terrified out of his wits, he staggered and turned to run, but bullets have no eyes—one struck the back of his knee, sending him crashing to the ground. Blood immediately spread across the snow, a glaring red.

As he struggled to turn over and crawl away, a foot suddenly stomped down on his back, and a cold gun barrel pressed against his temple.

The Doctor turned his head and saw that the person stepping on him was a young man with a youthful face. Just as he was about to beg for mercy, he saw the intense hatred and killing intent blazing in the young man’s eyes.

“Spare me… spare me…” He began trembling violently, his pants quickly growing wet.

“Heh.” Su Ruizhe sneered and stomped hard on his wound.

The Doctor let out a miserable scream, rolled his eyes back, and passed out.

Seeing him unconscious, Su Ruizhe finally lifted his foot and turned to Zheng Jiahe. “Help me tie him up. Don’t let him die.”

He wouldn’t let this man die so easily. He would make him experience the same pain Su Ruizhe had suffered in his previous life!

And Cao Qishen as well—neither of them would be allowed to escape!

Cao Qishen ran forward with all his might. He hadn’t heard any gunfire ahead, so he guessed those people probably didn’t have guns and might already have been knocked out by the drugs. He could take the opportunity to steal a vehicle and escape.

Unfortunately… imagination was beautiful, but reality was cruel.

The fighting in the front courtyard was no better than the cell block—it was just as one-sided. Cheng Qi and Zhang Shuoliang, one lightning-type and one earth-type, were perfectly balanced in offense and defense, not to mention Song Chengshu, whose crowd-control abilities were excellent.

Their guns were useless against Zhang Shuoliang’s earth walls. In such freezing weather, anyone drenched head to toe with icy water by Song Chengshu felt like they were about to be frozen into popsicles. Then, when Cheng Qi shocked them with electricity—well, that sensation was indescribably “refreshing.”

More than ten men couldn’t even defeat three people. Cao Qishen was furious. He’d originally planned to help, but now it was far too dangerous—lightning abilities were his nemesis. Although his metal shell could block blades and bullets, it couldn’t stop electricity. He immediately fled in another direction.

He knew there was a place here where he could hide—somewhere those people would never find him. As long as he waited until they left, he’d be safe.

He never imagined that his carefully laid trap would turn into a bloody counter-slaughter. Zhan Yun and the others hadn’t even used their abilities, choosing instead to end the battle as quickly as possible with firearms.

From start to finish, it took less than twenty minutes.

Zhan Yun naturally knew that their leader had escaped. When he came out earlier, he’d seen Cao Qishen’s retreating figure and the metallic layer covering his body—he hadn’t expected him to be a rare metal-type ability user.

With the freezing cold outside and zombies everywhere, traveling without a vehicle was impossible. Since there were no signs of the main gate being opened, Zhan Yun was certain Cao Qishen was still somewhere inside the prison.

He immediately called Yu Dongdong over and had him use his psychic abilities to conduct a carpet-style search of the prison.

This search turned up quite a few people. Of course, villains don’t have “bad guy” written on their faces, so they couldn’t immediately distinguish the Eight Vajras’ remaining followers from ordinary survivors. They simply gathered everyone together, planning to interrogate them slowly after capturing Cao Qishen.

Yu Dongdong was practically a human radar. He quickly located Cao Qishen’s hiding place: an abandoned sewage pipeline within the prison. During recent renovations, new pipelines had been installed, and this old, deteriorated section had been abandoned. The connection between the old and new pipelines was separated only by an iron mesh, and the other end led directly outside the prison.

Because of serious crimes, Cao Qishen had been imprisoned here for over twenty years. When the pipelines were renovated, he’d been assigned to help with the work, which was how he’d discovered this spot. He’d originally planned to use it for an escape one day—but the sudden apocalypse had saved him a lot of trouble.

Now, he could escape directly through this pipeline. But just as Zhan Yun had guessed, in this weather, without a vehicle or supplies, escaping would be tantamount to suicide. He believed this place was hidden enough that he wouldn’t be discovered. He could simply hide here until those people left.

Unfortunately, his wishful thinking was doomed to fail.

When he felt a violent tremor, the pipeline above him was ripped open halfway. Before he could even understand what was happening, a powerful force clamped around his neck and yanked him straight out.
