Chapter 79: Extra Story
Three months had passed since the great battle in the X Galaxy.
All Alpha patients had recovered and left Sin Star. Most of them had already returned to their homes, while only a very small number remained at the transfer station for further observation.
Sin Star once again became an uninhabited wasteland planet—but that was exactly what everyone hoped for.
Capital Planet of the Empire, Amio Imperial Palace.
After the meeting ended, Lin An’an looked toward the officials below the podium.
“Today’s meeting ends here.”
Everyone responded respectfully and began to leave one after another.
Lin An’an glanced at Feng Wu, who was also standing among the crowd. Seeing that he seemed ready to leave with everyone else, he added,
“Marshal Feng, stay.”
Feng Wu paused in his steps. Only after everyone had left did he walk forward and take the hand of Lin An’an, who had already stepped down from the platform.
“What is it?”
“Can’t you stay even if there’s nothing important?” Lin An’an glanced at him sideways. “Come with me to see my brother.”
Feng Wu nodded.
During this period, Xia Changluo had been receiving treatment for his heart. A few days ago he had undergone the final surgery, which had been very successful. It wouldn’t be long before he fully recovered and could leave the hospital.
When Lin An’an and Feng Wu arrived at the medical center, Xia Changluo was frowning slightly at a virtual screen.
Lin An’an looked worried.
“Big brother, what’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?”
“Not really,” Xia Changluo shook his head.
Lin An’an immediately let out a sigh of relief.
“That’s good. Big brother, hurry up and recover. I can’t stay in that palace for another day.”
Xia Changluo raised an eyebrow slightly.
“What? Someone giving you trouble?”
“Not really.” Lin An’an shook his head. “I just don’t like it.”
His natural talent was average, and Xia Jiyuan had never emphasized training him in that area. Instead, he had focused heavily on cultivating Xia Changluo.
“When you recover, we’ll hold the succession ceremony.” Lin An’an counted on his fingers. “After you take over, I won’t have to wake up early every morning to face so many people talking.”
Xia Changluo shook his head helplessly, his tone affectionate with no real reproach.
“I haven’t even recovered yet, and you’re already making all these plans.”
A soft laugh suddenly came from the room.
Lin An’an turned toward the sound and saw a familiar face appear on the screen.
“Sister Yu Bai?” Lin An’an leaned closer in surprise.
On the screen, Gu Yubai waved at them.
“I remembered you were busy, so I called Changluo instead.”
Lin An’an asked, “What were you talking about just now?”
“We were talking about how I lost a bet,” Gu Yubai blinked at him, “and fulfilling the bet might require some help from you.”
“From us?” Lin An’an asked. “Me and my brother?”
Gu Yubai nodded.
“And Marshal Feng as well.”
“So many people?” Lin An’an suddenly became interested. “What kind of help? What’s the bet?”
“It was a bet with some friends,” Gu Yubai said helplessly. “The loser has to agree to one request. They want to invite all of you to appear on screen with me. It’s something many Federation citizens have been hoping for.”
Lin An’an nodded.
“Oh, appearing together on screen is easy. We can just do a livestream. The broadcast can be open to the entire galaxy.”
Since the war in the X Galaxy ended, relations between the Federation and the Empire had improved dramatically—almost unbelievably friendly.
Not only did Federation citizens enjoy seeing the leaders of the two nations together, Lin An’an had also heard many Imperial citizens expressing the same wish.
“That’s what I thought too,” Gu Yubai nodded. “The livestream content will be decided by them. Don’t worry—they know their limits and won’t make us do anything too excessive.”
And so the matter was settled.
The livestream was scheduled three days later. On the evening before it began, Lin An’an received the livestream topic from Gu Yubai.
“A game?” Lin An’an asked in surprise. “What game?”
Gu Yubai replied:
“Truth or Dare.”
Feng Wu frowned slightly.
“What is that?”
Lin An’an tilted his head.
“Wolf brother, you’ve never played it before?”
Feng Wu shook his head. Lin An’an spent a few minutes explaining the rules. The game was actually very simple, and by the time he finished explaining, Feng Wu had already fully understood.
“They didn’t tell me the exact questions,” Gu Yubai said helplessly. “They want to keep it authentic. If you can’t accept this game, I’ll ask them to change it.”
Lin An’an said, “It should be fine. Didn’t you say they have good judgment?”
Feng Wu hesitated for two seconds.
“I’m fine with it.”
Xia Changluo also didn’t object, and the livestream content was finalized.
At eight the next evening, Lin An’an and Feng Wu arrived at Xia Changluo’s hospital room and connected to Gu Yubai’s video call.
The livestream had been advertised beforehand. Less than half a minute after it started, the viewer count skyrocketed to an astonishing number.
What surprised Lin An’an was that there were two other figures beside Gu Yubai—one big and one small.
They were Bai Yang and Bai Yue.
“Hello, big brothers.”
The young boy and the little child greeted them politely.
Gu Yubai explained,
“This game is more fun with more people, so I invited Yangyang and Yueyue too.”
The comments immediately exploded.
[Ahhh they’re really livestreaming together!!!]
[Taking screenshots like crazy—this is the first livestream with Leader Gu and the Third Prince together, right?]
[Technically the first after they revealed their identities.]
[Haha the Sin Star streams don’t count—they were using fake identities back then.]
[Witnessing history +1]
[Playing games together like this—I love this friendly atmosphere!]
[Same here! Hope the Empire and Federation always stay this friendly!]
[Truth or Dare! This is going to be exciting!]
—
The game began quickly.
The person dealing the cards was Gu Yubai’s friend Yu Yu—the same person who made the bet with her. She didn’t appear on camera. Instead, the camera showed a beautifully arranged table with prepared game cards.
“Everyone will draw an identity card first. There are six cards in total. One of them is the Ghost card. Whoever draws the Ghost can choose a civilian player and draw a mission card for them to complete.”
Everyone indicated they understood. The cards were quickly drawn.
In the first round, the Ghost was Lin An’an.
“Third Prince, who do you choose?” Yu Yu asked with a smile.
Lin An’an thought for a moment.
“Number 2. Purple card.”
Yu Yu flipped the purple card.
“Truth mission: Number 2 must tell the audience what they had for breakfast today.”
Number 2 was Bai Yue. The little girl looked confused, but fortunately the question was simple. With Bai Yang guiding her, she said:
“For breakfast, big sister cooked cabbage dumplings. They were very tasty.”
Gu Yubai curled her lips and rubbed her sister’s soft hair.
The comments exploded again.
[Leader Gu has such a good relationship with her siblings—even though she’s so busy she still cooks breakfast for them.]
—
After reshuffling, the second round Ghost was Xia Changluo.
“Number 4. Blue card.”
Yu Yu turned the card.
“Dare mission: Number 4 must call their pinned contact and invite them to dinner.”
“Who is number 4?” Xia Changluo asked.
Feng Wu looked at his terminal.
“That’s me.”
Gu Yubai laughed immediately.
“Well, we don’t even need to guess who your pinned contact is.”
The tips of Feng Wu’s ears turned red. Before he pressed the call button, Lin An’an had already taken out his terminal and held it up as if ready to answer.
The next second, his terminal rang.
Feng Wu asked,
“Want to have dinner together?”
“But we’ve already eaten dinner,” Lin An’an blinked at him, deliberately sounding regretful before quickly changing tone. “But we could have a late-night snack.”
Feng Wu smiled slightly.
“Alright. I’ll ask someone to prepare it later.”
The livestream comments went wild again.
[HAHAHAHA totally not surprising.]
[Marshal Feng’s pinned contact really is the Third Prince.]
[Someone save me—Marshal Feng’s gaze was way too doting just now!]
[So when are Marshal Feng and the Third Prince getting married?]
—
The game continued until the final round.
This time, Gu Yubai drew the Ghost card. Only three mission cards remained.
After thinking carefully, she said,
“Number 1. The red card.”
Yu Yu flipped it over.
“This is a special dare mission. Another civilian must also be chosen.”
Gu Yubai thought for a moment.
“Then number 5.”
Yu Yu read the card:
“Dare mission: An Early Surprise. Number 1 must give number 5 the surprise they prepared in advance. If there is no prepared surprise, the mission fails and punishment must be accepted.”
Gu Yubai raised an eyebrow.
“Who is number 1?”
Feng Wu looked up.
“I am.”
“Again?” Xia Changluo laughed. “Then number 5 must be An’an again, right?”
Lin An’an sighed helplessly.
“Actually… yes.”
The comments exploded.
[HAHAHA what kind of fate is this?!]
[This game has turned into a massive public display of affection.]
[No punishment needed—I bet Marshal Feng definitely prepared a surprise.]
Gu Yubai asked,
“So Feng Wu, did you prepare anything?”
Feng Wu glanced at Lin An’an and hesitated before nodding.
“Yes.”
“Really?” Lin An’an looked surprised. “What is it?”
Yu Yu added from behind the camera,
“If the surprise is too private, Marshal Feng can choose the punishment instead.”
“It is a little private,” Feng Wu said, the tips of his ears reddening again. “But it’s not something that can’t be made public.”
Lin An’an became even more curious.
“What is it?”
Feng Wu looked at him and stood up, walking toward him.
He took something out of his pocket and held it tightly in his hand.
Then he suddenly knelt on one knee.
In his palm was a delicate small box. Inside lay an exquisite men’s ring.
Feng Wu’s expression had never been so serious.
“Xia Lin,” he said.
“Will you marry me and spend your life with me?”
Lin An’an froze.
Everyone present froze.
The livestream comments exploded.
[HOLY SHIT!!!]
[This is a real surprise—I never expected this!]
[Witnessing history again!!!]
[Say yes! Say yes! SAY YES!!!]
Lin An’an’s mind went blank.
He had truly never imagined that the “surprise” Feng Wu prepared would be a proposal.
After a long moment, he finally came back to his senses.
Looking at the man in front of him—who actually seemed a little nervous—his heart pounded so fast his chest felt hot.
He took a small breath and extended his hand.
Feng Wu looked up at him, waiting for the answer.
Lin An’an clicked his tongue.
“What are you waiting for? Put it on!”
The ring slid onto his finger.
It felt slightly cold—but the fire in Lin An’an’s heart burned even brighter.
His Wolf brother had never been someone who spoke sweet words. Compared to saying nice things, he preferred to show his feelings through actions.
Unable to hold back his emotions, Lin An’an forgot they were still livestreaming to the entire galaxy.
He wrapped his arms around Feng Wu’s neck and kissed him.
To have such a person in life—is more than enough.
