Chapter 61
A pearl bird in mating season became especially sensitive.
Just a few touches, and Yanyan would go completely soft.
The lights in the room were off, leaving only a bedside lamp. Its halo trembled slightly with their movements. Sitting in Si Jingce’s lap, Yanyan tilted his head and obediently kissed his cheek.
“I’m really afraid of pain, okay?” Yanyan emphasized again and again, his fingers restlessly hooking around Si Jingce’s. “I’ve always been very sensitive to pain. During my mutation period, I cried every day… if you hurt me, I won’t talk to you for a long time… mm—!”
Si Jingce lowered his head and silenced him.
He knew very well how delicate his pet bird was.
Last time, when Yanyan turned into a bird and dozed off on the computer, he accidentally fell onto the keyboard—Si Jingce had to coax him for quite a while.
Knowing this, Si Jingce’s movements became even gentler, as if afraid the bird would melt in his hands.
But even so, it was inevitable that Yanyan would feel some pain.
At first, Yanyan could endure it, frowning and breathing unevenly.
But later, his composure started to collapse.
His clothes were disheveled, his cheeks flushed red, tears streaming down as he bit down hard on Si Jingce’s shoulder.
Why did it hurt even more than during the mutation period…
A sharp pain like an ice spike pierced deep inside him, climbing up his spine, soaking his clothes with cold sweat.
“N-no… I don’t want to anymore.” Yanyan’s voice trembled as he struggled to pull away, forcing Si Jingce to stop.
Holding his waist, the air grew dangerously tense. Si Jingce suppressed his instincts, lowering his head to comfort him with soft kisses.
After a few seconds, another kiss.
Those fragmented kisses disguised his nature well, and Yanyan gradually relaxed, weakly clinging to him.
“If you can’t handle it, we can stop here today,” Si Jingce asked in a low voice.
Yanyan wiped his wet eyes, the tip of his nose red and pitiful. “It’s okay… since we’ve already started, let’s finish it.”
He was a strong pearl bird. He wasn’t afraid of pain!
Trembling, Yanyan tried to hype himself up—only to hear his boyfriend chuckle softly by his ear.
?
What’s so funny?
Yanyan immediately got upset, tears all over his face but with no real intimidation. He hooked his arm around Si Jingce’s waist and said fiercely, “Are you looking down on me?”
The competitive spirit of a tiny adult male bird was instantly ignited. He recklessly, stubbornly moved his waist.
The next second, the “fearless” pearl bird broke into sobs.
Every inch of his skin felt misaligned, trembling uncontrollably. His nails dug into Si Jingce’s muscles, fingertips turning pale from the force.
At some point, something shifted—
The sharp pain turned into a burning heat, then into an unbearable, tingling ache.
Once they fit together, the man holding him lost all restraint.
Yanyan, in turn, became even more obedient, cooperating without resistance. The cold ring on his finger brushed against skin, leaving faint marks.
Si Jingce didn’t feel the pain. He held that hand and kissed it, briefly easing Yanyan’s tension—only to reveal his impulsive nature again moments later.
By the end, Yanyan was too exhausted to lift his arms.
Sure enough… holding back for too long would cause trouble.
The further it went, the harder it was for Si Jingce to restrain himself… and even Yanyan found himself not quite satisfied.
It was just a pity—he really had no strength left.
He almost wished he could chug three bottles of electrolyte water, recover his stamina, and go another round.
…Just a thought.
The boy’s eyelids were fighting to stay open. In a daze, he felt a warm body press against his back, gently kissing his flushed face.
Yanyan weakly pushed him. “Don’t want anymore.”
The man behind him paused slightly, then slowly pulled him into his arms, kissing along his shoulder and neck. His hands didn’t stop either, pressing lightly against the sore spots. “Anywhere still uncomfortable?”
It was an extremely intimate position, similar to how birds step on each other’s backs.
Yanyan shook his head. “Not uncomfortable.”
He tried to move away, but because of his movement, the two of them ended up even closer.
Sigh.
Yanyan let out a faint sigh.
If he still had any strength, he really would’ve tried… from behind.
Si Jingce’s hand suddenly stilled.
Just a slight touch was enough for him to know what Yanyan was thinking. Now that their contact was even closer…
An ambiguous, vivid image rushed straight into his mind—the boy lying prone on the bed, the curve of his waist strikingly beautiful.
After recovering a bit, Yanyan began to feel sticky and uncomfortable.
He turned over and lightly kicked Si Jingce. “Carry me to wash up…”
His ankle was suddenly grabbed.
Yanyan: ?
He was pulled backward abruptly, losing his balance. When he came back to his senses, he caught a glimpse of their reflection in the window—his knees sinking into the mattress, his spine curved into a graceful line, an arm wrapped around his waist to keep him from collapsing forward.
Si Jingce said in a low voice, “Again.”
Yanyan: ??
Wait—hold on!
The little boyfriend clearly liked this way very much. He was even more invested than before, his voice growing hoarse.
Si Jingce, too, skillfully made use of his “cheat ability,” doing his best to satisfy every one of Yanyan’s thoughts.
Only when Yanyan went completely soft and Si Jingce could no longer hear any thoughts from him did he finally let the boy fall asleep peacefully.
Even in the last second before losing consciousness, Yanyan was still thinking—
Our brainwaves sync way too easily, don’t they?
The moment he had a thought, the next moment Si Jingce would act it out.
It made Si Jingce feel both amused and helpless.
He kissed the sleeping Yanyan.
When Yanyan found out the truth, he probably wouldn’t be able to sleep again.
…
Yanyan had been exhausted the whole night and only woke up the next afternoon.
Every part of his body hurt. He couldn’t even get up. Si Jingce’s arm was still draped over his waist…
The man had clearly woken earlier. Even the slightest movement drew his attention.
He pulled Yanyan closer. “Awake? I already cleaned you up. Still feeling uncomfortable?”
The little bird brain went blank.
Yanyan zoned out for a long time. Only when the soreness spread again did something click in his head.
The more he thought about it, the more unfair it felt. The more he endured, the angrier he became.
He slapped Si Jingce’s hand away, both aggrieved and fierce. “I don’t want to talk to you at all today!”
At the beginning, being hurt could be forgiven—after all, later on he had genuinely enjoyed it.
But…
“I already said I didn’t want to continue, and you still kept going! You dirtied my clothes, dirtied the bedsheets and blankets!” Yanyan shouted. “You even made me all messy too!”
Si Jingce kissed his lips. “But I cleaned you up afterward.”
Yanyan stared at him word by word. “You! Still! Have! The! Nerve! To! Say! That!”
Yes, he had cleaned him up—but after carrying him into the bathroom and washing him clean, he had gone again. Just the time spent in the bathroom alone was at least an hour.
Yanyan huffed and bumped into him, whining. He admitted that last night in the bathroom he had been a bit… unsatisfied. But now his whole body ached—it was all Si Jingce’s fault.
“Anyway, you have to apologize,” Yanyan said. “And promise you won’t do that next time.”
“I apologize.” Si Jingce was happy to indulge and coax the sulking little bird. “I won’t do that again.”
Yanyan’s eyes widened.
He only asked for “next time,” not “never again”…
“Forget it.” After hesitating, Yanyan reluctantly said, “I accept your apology, but I can’t restrict you… you—you can do whatever you want.”
“It’s fine, I should apologize.” Si Jingce found his contradictory behavior too cute and couldn’t resist teasing him further. “But you were also at fault.”
Yanyan: …Since when did you get so bold?
“You were the one who kept saying you wanted more. That’s why I didn’t stop,” Si Jingce said.
Yanyan exploded. “You’re talking nonsense! I didn’t!”
But last night he had indeed been out of it—saying all sorts of embarrassing, sweet things under coaxing.
Did he really say it?
Yanyan hurried to defend himself. “Even if I did, it’s still your fault! I’m just a bird, what do I know? You know more than me… and you still didn’t restrain yourself, just kept indulging me!”
Si Jingce hugged him, burying his face in his neck, laughing quietly.
“You didn’t say it out loud,” Si Jingce said slowly. “You thought it. I heard everything.”
He had thought about it for a long time—telling Yanyan about this ability wouldn’t matter.
Even now, he didn’t know why he could hear Yanyan’s thoughts. But Yanyan shouldn’t be kept in the dark forever.
That would be unfair to him.
“You were thinking… about trying from behind, sitting on me, wanting me to hold you while doing it.”
“On the floor, in the bathroom… I heard all of it.”
Yanyan felt guilty. “Stop guessing, I didn’t.”
Hearing thoughts? Could it be his brother wasn’t human at all, but some kind of immortal?
Si Jingce pressed against his cheek. “I am human, not some immortal.”
Yanyan let out a breath. Exactly—how could a normal person have such an ability?
“I’m also curious where this ability came from,” Si Jingce said in response.
Yanyan didn’t notice anything strange, his thoughts drifting far away.
If he really could hear his thoughts, wouldn’t that mean he had been completely exposed from the very beginning?
“You were completely exposed from the start,” Si Jingce said. “The moment we met, you boldly rubbed against my hand and begged me to take in a poor little homeless bird.”
Yanyan remembered that at first, Si Jingce hadn’t planned to keep him. But after he rubbed against him a bit, the man suddenly agreed… Wait?!
He looked at Si Jingce in shock, then touched his own mouth.
“Brother…” Yanyan swallowed nervously. “I didn’t say anything out loud just now, right?”
