Doomsday Grocery Store – CH349

Chapter 349: Extra (11)

“Turs, you’ve had a breakthrough!”

The little fairy danced around Turs, glittering dust falling from her wings and landing all over him, making his entire body sparkle—his hair glowed with radiant colors.

Turs, however, stood frozen.

He looked at his own hands, face full of disbelief.

The bottleneck that had suppressed his level for decades had suddenly shattered. He felt a surge of strength throughout his body. All the chronic ailments and exhaustion vanished, and he was back to his prime state!

“There’s so much elemental energy in this world!”

The little cookie fairy quickly got distracted. “This feels amazing—I haven’t felt this good in ages!”

Turs noticed it too.

“Teacher Turs, how come you got younger?” Tang Yu’an couldn’t help but be surprised.

This was exactly how Turs had looked when they first met him—his youthful appearance from the old recordings in the AI system.

Turs gave a simple explanation.

“It was because our levels were suppressed that our civilization was destroyed by the beasts. For so many years, we could only hide away in the underground city to survive…”

Suddenly recalling something, he quickly suppressed his excitement and turned to Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi. “Can I go back and bring my two teachers here?”

He then explained Max and Lina’s situation.

“No matter the cost—we’re willing to pay it!” Turs pleaded. “Please save them!”

Tang Yu’an was about to agree immediately, but Zhou Qi held him back.

“Teacher Turs, we can bring your elders here. We only hope they can live in the Homeland for a while and help select suitable children to establish a Sigil Chapel.”

Turs readily agreed upon hearing this.

“No problem! Passing on the civilization of Syasa is our greatest hope.”

Even if the inheritors weren’t Syasan, it didn’t matter. As long as the art of Syasa’s sigils could be passed down and spread, he would have lived up to his ancestors.

So, they immediately returned to Roland.

But that’s when something strange happened—when Turs appeared on the teleportation platform again, his aura quickly weakened, and he reverted to his elderly state.

Perhaps the change had been too sudden and drastic—Turs now looked even more haggard than before, with more wrinkles etched on his face.

“Turs, you’re back to two-star again!” the little fairy exclaimed in surprise.

“My level has been suppressed again…”

Turs could feel it. The elemental magic he had gained from the other world was being forcefully pulled out of him, rapidly disappearing from his body.

Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi were just as shocked. They had assumed Turs would remain youthful like Grandpa Li and the others after his breakthrough—but unexpectedly, he reverted so quickly.

“What’s going on?”

Turs clenched his fists and looked up at the ceiling—as if he could see the outside world through the thick rock above.

“There’s something wrong with our world!”

Beyond the relentless beast invasions, the world itself was broken. Very likely, not just Syasa, but other parts of the world had also experienced a suppression of elemental masters’ levels!

Thinking of the countless Syasans who had died, Turs was filled with burning rage and hatred.

Thankfully, Tang Yu’an’s words quickly brought him back to his senses.

“Let’s first bring Grandpa Max and Grandma Lina over, and then see if their suppression lifts in our world.”

“You’re right. Let’s go!”

Turs composed himself and led Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi to find the two elders.

They were incredibly old—this was Tang Yu’an’s first time seeing elders of such advanced age. It seemed like they could pass away at any moment.

Turs briefly explained the situation, and quickly helped move the two elders into the wheelchairs Zhou Qi had taken out.

“Turs, are you sure… this will work?” Lina asked weakly.

She could feel the end of her life approaching. If possible, she hoped to rest eternally in the land of Syasa…

“Grandma Lina, there’s no time. Let’s just go! You’ll know once we’re there!”

As the teleportation array activated, they once again arrived in the teleportation room of the Homeland’s swimming complex—and once again, a miracle occurred!

An even greater vortex of spiritual energy swirled into existence. In the brilliant, dazzling light, Max and Lina’s withered bodies began to rejuvenate at a speed visible to the naked eye. The air of decay and death swiftly vanished.

They took a little longer than Turs, but once the spectacle ended, both of them had returned to their prime!

“Am I dreaming?”

Lina touched her face, tears streaming down as she looked at Max. “The suppression… it’s really gone?”

“Lina, seeing you look young again—it’s a miracle!”

Max was also overwhelmed with joy.

The two restored elders, now in their peak years, hugged each other tightly and cried aloud, finally releasing decades of sorrow they had buried deep inside.

It was a long time before they calmed down.

By then, Tang Yu’an and the others were no longer in the room.

They had left the space for Max and Lina, while they brought Turs outside the swimming complex—into the open, into the sunlight and fresh air they had long been separated from.

“Xiao An, Xiao Qi… I truly don’t know how to thank you,” the newly rejuvenated Turs said to the two teens.

“Please don’t say that, Teacher Turs.”

Tang Yu’an replied, “Are there others still in the underground city? Why not bring them all here?”

The giant world had vast land. Even billions could be accommodated—let alone the limited survivors in Turs’ underground city.

“There are a little over fifty people left—mostly children.”

The children who had survived back then had since grown up, married, and had children of their own. To ensure the survival of their race, nearly every couple had more than two children.

Some of the second generation were now old enough to reproduce themselves, so the population of the underground city had grown quite a bit since they first met.

“Then let’s bring them all!” Tang Yu’an said. “I’ll have someone arrange housing.”

Turs opened his mouth, but seeing Max and Lina standing at the door, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

The land may be dead, but people are alive.

Roland was no longer suitable for them. Continuing to hide in the underground city would only limit the growth of the Syasa civilization.

Only once they no longer faced suppression… only once they found a solution, could they return to Roland and reclaim what was lost!

Turs nodded, and Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi immediately set to work.

Before using the teleportation array again, they stopped Turs. “Transforming back and forth like that puts too much strain on your body. Stay here and rest. We’ll go instead.”

With the little cookie fairy and a recorded message from Turs, there was no need to worry about convincing the Syasa survivors to come.

So, after leaving their final instructions, Turs and the two elders watched as the two boys and the little fairy departed.

Turs waited quietly in place, while Max and Lina walked to the window to admire the view.

They hadn’t seen the outside world in far too long.

“Look over there! Is that… a giant? That one’s as tall as a building!”

“What kind of world is this…?”
