Doomsday Grocery Store – CH300

Chapter 300

Due to the influence of the magma, the temperature inside the cave was still quite high. So when it came to building materials, Tang Yu’an chose bricks and concrete.

These materials were already stocked in the portable warehouse, so there was no need to worry about running out.

Two construction robots began humming and chugging away at the task.

“Are they your companions?” the dragon asked curiously. “They don’t seem to have any life force.”

“Yeah, because they’re robots. It’s kind of a complicated thing to explain, but just know they’re good partners and helpful assistants.”

Tang Yu’an had no idea how to explain human technology to a dragon—after all, even a giant like Shan Feng didn’t get it, so how could a dragon?

Chi Yan nodded, signaling he understood.

He wasn’t surprised that the two little ones could seemingly pull items out of thin air—he just assumed that was one of their abilities.

But he was curious like a child. While Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi were working, he constantly asked questions.

Tang Yu’an always patiently explained things to him. If something was too complicated, Zhou Qi would help fill in the gaps.

Before long, the dragon’s impression of them shifted from “clever little humans” to “knowledgeable and resourceful little humans.”

And the things they brought out were super useful!

There was the glowing green light strip, and even an air conditioner that could adjust the temperature!

That’s right—the adaptive temperature-regulating AC unit didn’t even need electricity. It could absorb thermal energy and convert it into power for itself, making it perfect for this environment.

Tang Yu’an had originally bought it during a flash sale for his parents, but since the weather in his original world was pretty stable, they never really needed it. So it had been sitting unused in storage—until now!

Chi Yan lounged by the cave entrance, enjoying the cool breeze blowing across him, completely unwilling to leave.

But because he still had a dragon egg to tend to, he only stayed for an hour before reluctantly saying goodbye and heading back to his post.

With the construction left to the robots, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi got to work on making clothes.

While their normal-temperature fabric was still somewhat effective, it didn’t protect exposed skin—so they needed something with more full-body coverage.

They combined the normal-temp fabric with low-temp fabric—normal-temp on the inside, low-temp on the outside—which provided excellent insulation against the heat.

“By the way, Ruby should love this kind of environment, right?”

Tang Yu’an released the little red bird from his pet slot.

As for Black Pearl and Yuan Bao, because they had eaten a lot of meat during their trip with Shan Feng, they were now in hibernation, absorbing energy through sleep.

“Chirp chirp!”

The moment it left the pet slot, the little red bird chirped excitedly, rubbed against Tang Yu’an, then started looking around the cave curiously.

Finally, it flapped its wings and flew out of the cave—diving straight into the magma.

Since he knew it was a phoenix, Tang Yu’an didn’t worry. He just called out for it not to stray too far, then returned to the cave to continue working on the clothes.

Once he had a finished outfit on, Tang Yu’an flew outside to test it. Sure enough, it felt much more comfortable.

“We still need more protective measures,” Zhou Qi said as Tang Yu’an flew back. “Ideally, we shouldn’t have to worry even if we fall into the magma.”

The thermal-regulating capabilities of their special fabrics had limits—if thrown directly into lava, they’d melt pretty quickly.

Zhou Qi could use fire energy to generate protective barriers, but Tang Yu’an couldn’t.

In such a fire-element-rich environment, his light and wind powers didn’t last long.

Tang Yu’an nodded, then suddenly remembered something: “Oh right, I still have one flash sale swipe left! Let’s see if we can draw some kind of heat-resistant item!”

“…”

Zhou Qi hesitated a beat, then awkwardly said, “Sure.”

So Tang Yu’an pulled out his swipe card and opened the Seven-Day Flash Sale interface.

[Seven-Day Flash Sale (Remaining Swipe Time: ???)]

  1. Intermediate Healing Potion (5/5): 400 points/bottle

  2. Smart Cleaning Robot (1/1): 6688 points/unit

  3. Void Stone (1/1): 48,888 points/stone

  4. Violet Sun-Resistant Clothing (2/2): 158,888 points/item
?Description: A sun-resistant outfit created by the sprite Fufu. Provides protection against extreme heat—no matter how hot it gets, your skin won’t be harmed.

  5. Luminous Green Boat (1/1): 158,888 points/unit
?Description: A boat made by the sprite Yaya using precious wood. Can sail steadily through all kinds of liquids—including rivers, glaciers, and magma.

  6. Adaptive Temperature-Control AC: …

Wow! Violet sun-resistant clothes and a luminous green boat!

“Brother Qi! We actually drew them!” Tang Yu’an said excitedly.

Zhou Qi: “…”

He was used to it by now. 🙂

“Let’s redeem and try them out,” Zhou Qi suggested. Judging by the descriptions, both items could be really useful.

“Okay!”

Even though one item cost nearly 160,000 points, they had just earned over 5 million. After deducting the cost of the healing potions, they still had more than 4 million left.

Spending on these two items? Totally worth it.

The violet sun-resistant outfit was extremely light and thin, pale purple in color, and as sheer as a cicada’s wing—really beautiful.

As soon as Tang Yu’an put it on, he felt a cool sensation spread over his whole body—even areas not covered by the fabric were protected.

After seeing that, Zhou Qi flew out of the cave.

Tang Yu’an quickly followed him and saw Zhou Qi jump into the magma.

Even knowing Zhou Qi could use fire power for protection, Tang Yu’an still felt his heart clench. “Brother Qi!”

Thankfully, Zhou Qi resurfaced quickly.

He hadn’t used a barrier, yet he was completely unharmed—like the red-hot lava was just warm water.

“Brother Qi?”

Tang Yu’an flew down toward him. “How do you feel?”

“The heat is completely blocked,” Zhou Qi said.

Most importantly, his whole body was protected—even his exposed skin didn’t get burned in the lava.

“Whoa! I want to try too!”

Tang Yu’an hovered above the magma and cautiously dipped a hand in. When he felt no burning sensation, he got bolder and put his whole hand in.

No injury at all!

“This sun-resistant outfit is amazing!”

Even so, Tang Yu’an didn’t dare swim in the lava like Zhou Qi—that was a bit too extreme for a regular person.

Instead, he pulled out the luminous green boat and set it on the magma.

Magma wasn’t still—it flowed like a river—but the little boat stayed put.

It didn’t burn or melt, and it wasn’t carried away by the current.

Tang Yu’an landed on the boat. It might be small, but it was super stable. No matter how much he jumped around, the boat barely budged.

It even had a steering panel—he could move forward or backward with ease. It felt like driving a bumper car on lava.

“So fun!”

Zhou Qi flew back up from the magma.

Tang Yu’an glanced at him and couldn’t help but laugh: “Brother Qi, where are your shoes? And… your pants are only half left!”

Zhou Qi looked down and finally noticed—his shoes and pants had completely melted in the lava.

Only the parts covered by the sun-resistant outfit had been spared.

It seemed his shoes and pants didn’t count as part of his body, so they weren’t within the range of the outfit’s protection.

This experiment also confirmed one thing:

The low-temperature and normal-temperature fabrics really couldn’t withstand lava erosion.

Zhou Qi landed on the luminous green boat, checked the situation, then nodded and said, “Let’s see how fast this thing can go.”

“Okay!”

Tang Yu’an grabbed the steering panel and activated the boat.

The small, leaf-shaped, luminous green boat shot forward with a swoosh.

Thankfully, this “sea of lava” was quite vast for them, and aside from a few fire crystals, there were almost no obstacles, so they didn’t run into anything.

“Feels even faster than when we’re flying.”

And it saved energy too.

Tang Yu’an sped across the lava sea in the luminous green boat, absolutely thrilled by this strange and exciting new experience.

But after a while, just as he was about to turn back, a massive shadow suddenly emerged.

The once calmly flowing lava began to surge and ripple into waves.

Fortunately, the boat’s stability kicked in—it didn’t capsize even in the rising waves.

Tang Yu’an navigated the little boat through one wave after another, eventually reaching the edge of the lava wall.

He and Zhou Qi extended their spiritual senses and discovered—it was another dragon.

Although it looked quite similar to Chi Yan, it clearly wasn’t him.

This unfamiliar dragon was swimming upstream in the lava and seemed like it was about to leave—until it suddenly stopped.

“Who is it? Who’s spying on me?!”

The voice thundered through the underground chamber, making Tang Yu’an’s eardrums ache and stunning both of them with a jolt of fear.

Had their use of spiritual sense been detected?

Before they could run, the dragon’s gaze swept over and locked onto them.

It was a hostile gaze, full of crushing pressure like they had never felt before—it completely froze them in place.

As the dragon started approaching—

“Chirp! Chirp chirp!”

The little red bird suddenly flew in from who knows where, planting itself between them and the dragon, chirping boldly and defiantly, utterly unafraid of the dragon’s might.

Unfortunately, it was just too small.

No matter how loudly it chirped, the dragon didn’t even notice it.

What did make the dragon stop was something else: behind him, Chi Yan was swiftly swimming over.

“Yan Lie, what’s going on? Why are you here in my territory?”

The dragon immediately turned away from Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi, and looked at Chi Yan, saying, “My child just hatched, but he’s not doing well. You’ve got experience—can you come take a look?”

“Is it that its life force is rapidly fading?”

“Yes!” Yan Lie said anxiously. “It seems like it’s not going to make it—do you know any way to save it?”

“Take me to it, quickly!” Chi Yan said. “If you’d come a little earlier, I might not have been able to help—but now I can!”

It was only then that he noticed Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi still parked at the edge of the lava wall.

“You two little guys, what are you doing here? Come with me to save the baby! I’ll reward you handsomely when it’s done!”

“Chi Yan, they’re—”

“They’re the tiny merchants who sell amazing stuff!”
