Lu Ao basically never joined in when Lin Gongshang and the others talked dirty.

Lin Gongshang had only been running his mouth for a moment. He never expected Lu Ao to turn around and pin him down.

The moment he was pinned, Lin Gongshang started howling. “Wait! Lu Ao, I was wrong! Let go of me! Damn, is that a hand you’re pressing on me with, or handcuffs? When did you get this strong?”

Lin Gongshang was a young man in his prime, yet once the tall, lean Lu Ao pressed him down, he actually could not move at all.

Lu Ao threw the fish into Lin Gongshang’s bucket, then reached down to feel for more while staring ahead. “I see octopus. Two of them.”

“Where?”

“Ahead.”

Lin Gongshang looked up and saw two large octopuses swiftly fleeing into a crevice between the rocks.

He forgot about everything else, quickly put down the bucket, and ran a few steps to catch them.

Lu Ao reacted fast and steadied the poorly placed buckets, saving them from tipping over.

Lin Gongshang had already grabbed the octopuses, one in each hand, exactly two.

The octopuses writhed in his hands, their suckers clinging tightly to his arms.

“So numb!” Lin Gongshang held the octopuses and hopped as he ran toward Lu Ao. “Quick, quick, help me get them off.”

Lu Ao reached out, took the octopuses from his hands, and tossed them into the bucket.

Lin Gongshang let out a huge breath of relief and turned his arms over to look. Red marks from the octopus suckers had already appeared on his skin.

“Good grief! These octopuses are strong.” Lin Gongshang hissed. “Hey, it’s red.”

“Be careful.”

“I am. I’m going to catch black drummer.” Lin Gongshang crouched down and reached into a rock crevice. “There are so many black drummer here.”

“Not bad.” Lu Ao picked up a stone crab, then put it back down.

Lin Gongshang happened to turn around and saw what he did. “You’re not catching the stone crab?”

“It has eggs.”

“Then forget it. We’ll come again next time. Maybe there’ll be stone crabs crawling all over the ground by then.” As Lin Gongshang spoke, he felt around for fish. He came out with a fish in each hand. “Hey, hey, hey, bring the bucket. There are so many fish here.”

Lu Ao carried the bucket over and casually picked up another fish from the tide pool.

Lin Gongshang had sharp eyes and immediately spotted the fish in his hand. “Catshark?”

“Mm.”

Lu Ao tossed the struggling catshark into the bucket.

“Mm.” Lin Qiyan adjusted the camera. “Go ahead.”

“The highlight is this catshark.” Lin Gongshang grabbed the catshark by the tail, staying wary of being bitten as he introduced it. “Catsharks are still fairly rare around here. They’re especially good in fish stew or braised. I like them a lot. The main point is that this catshark is especially big, almost five or six catties.”

“Three-knife fish, two of them. They’re not big, around seven or eight taels each, but still pretty good.”

Lin Qiyan turned off the camera and came over to help. Together, they carried the fish onto the boat.

Lu Ao said, “You can split the rest. I’ll take the catshark home.”

Lin Qiyan said, “Look at how much Lu Ao made from that last yellow catfish. Do you think everyone is like you, trying to earn money to marry a wife?”

Lu Ao looked up in surprise. “You’re getting married?”

Lin Gongshang was rarely embarrassed. “Started dating at the beginning of the year. A few days ago, we exchanged betrothal gifts. The wedding banquet is in September.”

“Congratulations.” Lu Ao had not expected Lin Gongshang, who shouted every day that he was a single dog, to actually have a fiancée. “You hid that pretty well.”
