Chapter 77: Laughed at for Life
For the first time ever, bewilderment rose in Huo Beixing’s eyes.
The thought that he might lose to An Yi in a drinking contest had never once crossed his mind.
He had already imagined a hundred different versions of An Yi’s reasons for rejecting him, but not once had he paused at the possibility of losing at the drinking stage.
He had always been absolutely confident in his alcohol tolerance.
And yet…
He looked at the bottle of red wine by An Yi’s hand. An Yi was completely taken with it, looking very much like he was ready for another glass.
Huo Beixing silently turned his head away.
Who would have thought he had married a wife who was such an unignorable little drunkard?
After drinking that much, not only was he not tipsy, his face was not even flushed. It was as if he were drinking cranberry juice.
The newly opened bottle tasted different from the previous two, and An Yi found it novel. As he did, he lifted the bottle and studied it carefully from side to side.
Seeing that he was ignoring him, Huo Beixing spoke up. “What are you looking at?”
An Yi held the bottle out in front of Huo Beixing’s eyes, his fair face wearing a satisfied smile. “This wine is really good.”
Back in the mountains, the alcohol he had drunk most was baijiu. He had barely ever had beer, and as for things like red wine and champagne, that was even less likely.
After he was taken back, he had only had a few sips at banquets with An Shaofeng and found it tasted good. But soon after that, he got married. At the time Huo Beixing was mentally underdeveloped, so there was no way he could drink in front of someone whose mind was only eight years old. What if Huo Beixing suddenly said he wanted a sip too? That would have been a disaster.
After that, one job and one competition followed after another, so he had not had anything to drink for a long time.
Today was the perfect chance to drink to his heart’s content.
At this point, wine gave Huo Beixing a headache. He only glanced at it briefly.
“You like it?”
An Yi nodded.
The fondness in those eyes was unmistakable.
Huo Beixing sat up and moved closer. “There’s a whole lot in the wine cabinet at home. If you like it, you can go pick some yourself.”
Huo Beixing was drunk, not him. Of course An Yi knew what he meant.
Little Frog instantly became alert.
This bastard was definitely trying to trick him.
Ever since Huo Beixing started pretending to be stupid, An Yi had no idea how many pits the man had dug for him to fall into.
Huo Beixing laughed when he saw how wary he looked. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
An Yi said, “You must be planning to mess with me.”
“I’m not.”
“You’re lying!” An Yi said. “You just want to trick me into going back to your house.”
“My house?”
An Yi nodded. He was not going to be fooled.
“Wife, didn’t you get something wrong? We’re not getting divorced anymore. My home is your home now.”
An Yi was startled, but when he thought about it carefully, it did seem to make sense. He took a sip of red wine, turned his head away, and said nothing.
He simply pretended that earlier conversation had never happened and kept drinking.
Huo Beixing looked at him and muttered something softly.
“Wife, there’s something that’s been bothering me lately. It’s made me kind of sad.”
Sad?
An Yi tilted his head a little and secretly glanced at him.
“Sad? You?”
Huo Beixing nodded. “Mm.”
“I can’t tell at all.”
Huo Beixing: …
The man coughed lightly. “I kept it hidden inside.”
An Yi gave an “oh.” “Then why are you sad?”
“I got laughed at.”
“Who laughed at you, and why?”
Huo Beixing spat out the unlucky bastard’s name. “Zhao Ningzhuo.”
Because Huo Beixing had used Zhao Ningzhuo as the unlucky scapegoat so many times, Zhao Ningzhuo’s image in An Yi’s mind had become that of a person who was not bad at heart but not very bright.
“Zhao Ningzhuo?”
When An Yi asked, Huo Beixing nodded and waited expectantly for him to continue.
But the next moment An Yi said, “Why bother taking it to heart?”
Huo Beixing: …
An Yi comforted him. “If he laughs at you, just find a chance to laugh back at him.”
“I won’t get the chance.”
An Yi went still, holding his wineglass.
Oh no.
Could it be that Huo Beixing had some terminal illness?
Seeing right through what An Yi was thinking, Huo Beixing immediately said, “It’s not what you think.”
“That’s good.” An Yi relaxed.
“But if I don’t change my current situation, he’ll laugh at me for the rest of my life over this.”
An Yi asked, “What exactly is he laughing at you for?”
“He laughs at me for being a virgin.”
The first time Zhao Ningzhuo found out Huo Beixing was a virgin, he had looked perfectly calm and said nothing, not appearing surprised at all. But that night, after going home, he lay under his blanket and laughed for half the night.
Heaven really had eyes.
He had practically wanted to announce it to the whole world.
Huo Beixing was not very capable.
An Yi felt like he had been implicated by association. He muttered, “What’s so funny about that?”
Huo Beixing’s peach-blossom eyes darkened. “He’s laughing at me for not being any good.”
It was undoubtedly a naked insult.
An Yi remembered Huo Beixing’s previous declaration about being frigid. “Then are you really not good at it, or are you fake-not-good-at-it?”
“I don’t know either. I’ve never tried.” As he spoke, he grabbed An Yi’s wrist. “Wife, can you help me?”
Even though he had recovered, Huo Beixing still sometimes carried over the silly air from those two years. A kind of aftereffect.
At that moment his aggrieved tone made him seem like a heartbroken kindergarten boy who could not get what he wanted, the kind who would get laughed at by his classmates the next day if he failed.
An Yi had never done that sort of thing. Pulling his hand back, his face grew hot. “You don’t know how, and I don’t know how either. I can’t help you.”
“If you won’t help me, then no one can. We’re married. The only partner I’ll have in the future is you.”
What he said seemed to make some sense, but…
An Yi’s thoughts became tangled. Still, would that really be okay?
He lowered his head, agonizing over it, while Huo Beixing stared at the pale line of his neck.
“Wife, if it’s too hard for you, then forget it.”
His sudden willingness to back off took An Yi by surprise. He had assumed Huo Beixing would keep insisting until he agreed.
All he saw was Huo Beixing turning away and leaning against the sofa.
“I’ll just stay a virgin for the rest of my life.”
An Yi: …
An Yi held his wineglass and agonized for quite a while.
They were not getting divorced anymore. They were going to be together for life, and they were a legally married couple. Whether it was now or later, this kind of thing would happen eventually.
After all, people’s thoughts always changed. One day one idea, the next day another. He might feel awkward and overwhelmed right now, but who knew—maybe later he would get used to it.
And if he could get used to it later, then he could do it now too.
But deep down, he was still very resistant. His thinking in this area was rather closed-off. The married couples he had seen in the past were never all that intimate.
He thought it over for a long time before finally reaching out and poking Huo Beixing.
“Huo Beixing.”
Huo Beixing turned around.
“Let’s try.”
He did not want to become one of those couples with a cold and distant marriage.
By the time An Yi came back to himself, Huo Beixing had already brought him into the bedroom. Huo Beixing had already taken a bath; now it was his turn. He dawdled in the bathroom for a good while before finally coming out.
The room was dimly lit. Huo Beixing was half hidden in the darkness, a bottle in his hand.
The moment An Yi saw the label, his brain heated up, and he did not dare look a second time.
Had he… put it down there already?
Although the time he had seen Huo Beixing’s thing was two years ago, and back then An Yi had only felt a flash of envy—Huo Beixing did have a bit of the Creator’s favoritism on his side—now, when he recalled it, his scalp tingled and he felt like a mute person forced to swallow bitter medicine.
Huo Beixing’s incomparably handsome face had none of the earlier grievance he wore on the sofa in the living room. His peach-blossom eyes were mysterious and dangerous, and his whole body radiated pleasure.
Seeing An Yi, a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. It was faint, because he still had to put on a complete act.
Once he had hauled the man onto the bed, Huo Beixing gradually began to lose control.
At his age, full of youthful vigor, he looked at An Yi’s bewildered face under the warm light and urgently bent down to kiss his lips.
His hands did not stay idle either. No matter how An Yi pulled and tugged, he could not match Huo Beixing’s strength. In no time at all, he was stripped clean.
An Yi felt like his face was about to burn through. Huo Beixing lifted his arm and directly threw off the clothes on his own body. His broad chest and tight muscle lines, lit by the warm glow, looked wildly untamed.
As he bent down, the sharp grooves of his lower abs showed clearly.
An Yi was so shocked he kept shrinking backward.
Too bold.
Far too bold.
This was unbelievable.
Huo Beixing looked at him with a smile. He had not even done anything yet, but just sitting there looking at him, he already gave off an indescribably sensual air.
An Yi looked at him and swallowed. “Are you really doing this for the first time?”
“Of course.”
Yet there was something about him that seemed very practiced. An Yi’s heart pounded.
He hardly dared look at him.
Like a slick little fish, he twisted around and reached for the bedside lamp. “How about… we turn off the light?”
Huo Beixing pressed his hand down. “Why turn it off?”
An Yi forced himself to say it, “It’s not too good with the light on…”
Huo Beixing pinned him in place, his tone matter-of-fact. “Isn’t it more exciting with the light on?”
An Yi: …
He really knew how to play.
At this point he had every reason to suspect that Huo Beixing’s virgin confession had been a lie.
But now that he had already been brought this far, let alone escaping, even moving an inch was under Huo Beixing’s control.
Noticing his unease, Huo Beixing soothed him for quite a while before finally getting down to business.
Yet after an hour, An Yi, his face flushed, looked speechlessly at the man above him.
The two of them were covered in sweat by now.
An entire bottle had been used up.
And Huo Beixing still had not gone in.
The little fish, stripped bare and with no pleasure at all, turned back into Little Frog.
Very good, man, I believe you. You really are a virgin.
And then, after he finally got inside, both of them tensed up all at once.
Clenched around him, Huo Beixing broke into a sweat. Seeing the discomfort on An Yi’s face, he did not dare move.
But he had to admit, he really was a pervert.
Just as An Yi was slowly beginning to adjust, a hot rush suddenly burned him, making him shudder.
For a moment, the whole room fell silent.
An Yi stared blankly at Huo Beixing. Even in the dim light, his eyes blinked like little light bulbs.
Ten seconds…
Not even a single thrust…
An Yi’s expression was innocent, but then the corners of his mouth began to twitch uncontrollably.
“Pff—”
Huo Beixing had never been this humiliated in his life. His face and neck flushed red, and the veins stood out on his neck and arms.
Looking at Huo Beixing, An Yi murmured, “It’s okay. Ten seconds is still pretty impressive.”
Huo Beixing: …
Not a shred of sincerity in that sentence. It was pure mockery.
An Yi added, “At least now Zhao Ningzhuo won’t laugh at you.”
But I will laugh at you for the rest of my life.
