Chapter 37: Stealing Someone Away
Holding his grilled sausage, An Yi stared at the scene in the room like a wooden chicken. He had just come back from the little convenience shop when he saw Huo Beixing lifting He Ting by the collar inside the room, looking as though he might throw him straight out the window in the next second. For a moment, An Yi couldn’t help wondering whether he’d been too tired lately from all the work these past few days and was starting to hallucinate. Wasn’t Huo Beixing supposed to be at home? How had he ended up here, on top of that grabbing He Ting by the collar?
Surely he’d just opened the door the wrong way.
An Yi silently shut the door, then opened it again.
Shua—
An Yi: …
It was real!!!
He Ting’s eyes were wide as he stared at Huo Beixing, who had lifted him clean off the ground with one hand. His mouth opened and shut for a long while, yet not a single word came out. He had never imagined that the person keeping An Yi was actually Huo Beixing!
He wasn’t particularly familiar with Huo Beixing. He had only seen him a few times at banquets. The older generation all sneered at Huo Beixing’s conduct, but because the man was exceptionally capable, they still had to greet him with smiling faces and flattering courtesy.
After all, in an era where profit came first, who would be foolish enough to take issue with money?
His feet hung in the air, giving him that horrible sense of weightlessness, as if there were no escape.
At this moment, Huo Beixing’s peach-blossom eyes had narrowed dangerously, as though holding blades within them. It looked as if he wanted to tear him apart.
That face of perfect, dazzling handsomeness was full of displeasure, his jaw tight, his whole body radiating violent hostility.
He Ting’s heart gave a violent jump.
A bad premonition rose inside him.
In the very next second, Huo Beixing dragged him off without another word, heading straight toward the trash can.
His face was dark, the muscles on his arm drawn tight.
He hadn’t even calmed down from the fury of seeing someone lift his wife’s blanket.
He’d known people would covet his wife.
He was going to stuff this one straight into the trash can!!!
At this moment, He Ting could be called utterly miserable, not even a trace of his usual young-master image left. Compared to Huo Beixing, his strength was pitifully weak, like a little chick. No matter how hard he struggled, no matter how his legs thrashed on the floor, he still couldn’t break free.
He kept up a regular workout habit and was normally in good shape, but just now one look from the other man had terrified him so badly his whole body went soft and powerless. By the time he regained enough strength to try struggling back, he found himself completely crushed by one-sided force, unable to resist at all.
The harder you tried, the more unfortunate you became. 🙂
His scalp tingled.
How could anyone have that much strength? The man felt like a solid chunk of iron, hard as stone.
Not finding a trash can in the room, Huo Beixing simply dragged him toward the bathroom instead, with all the air of someone prepared to kill him.
“Huo Beixing.”
An Yi’s voice entered his ears, and as Huo Beixing dragged the man along, he instinctively turned toward the sound.
An Yi had somehow already reached the doorway.
Looking at He Ting struggling desperately in Huo Beixing’s grip with a face full of pain, An Yi knew that was simply his instinctive will to survive.
He had no idea why Huo Beixing had suddenly appeared here, nor did he have time to think about it. He hurried over, trying to separate the two of them, but Huo Beixing had an iron grip on the man and simply would not let go.
An Yi knew he first had to calm Huo Beixing down. Looking him straight in the eyes, he asked, “Why did you come here?”
Huo Beixing’s gaze softened at once as he looked at him. “I missed you.”
Looking at He Ting still being dragged on the floor, An Yi tried mediating between the two of them. “Did something happen between you two?”
Something happen?
In Huo Beixing’s understanding, that phrase seemed to mean the other person hit me.
Huo Beixing shook his head. “No.”
An Yi asked curiously, “Then why are you beating him up?”
Huo Beixing replied, “Because I want to.”
An Yi: …
Simple and clear enough.
If we’re talking about acting on impulse, nobody does it like you.
An Yi looked at the cold sweat already standing out on He Ting’s forehead and knew the man simply could not break free from Huo Beixing’s grip. He patted Huo Beixing’s hand. “Let him go first, okay?”
But this time, Huo Beixing stopped talking altogether.
Let him go?
Huo Beixing lowered his head and glanced at He Ting, whose body was half on the floor. Since the man dared lift his wife’s blanket, there was no way he was letting go.
Today he dared lift his wife’s blanket. Tomorrow he’d dare steal his wife!
An Yi held his other hand. “Be good.”
Huo Beixing pursed his lips, clearly dissatisfied with An Yi’s answer, his whole face spelling out I’m about to throw a fit.
But in the end, he still obediently listened to An Yi. With a casual flick, he threw He Ting aside like a piece of garbage, then grabbed An Yi and hauled him straight into the bathroom.
Once inside, Huo Beixing still said nothing. He simply stood there with his back to An Yi, expressing his dissatisfaction.
A silent protest.
He had come all the way here, full of excitement, wanting to surprise his wife by hiding under the blanket.
Who would have thought that someone else would flip the blanket first?
The surprise was ruined. Everything had been messed up.
Worse still, his wife wouldn’t even let him teach the other man a lesson, which only added more fuel to his anger.
An Yi could tell that Huo Beixing was feeling low. When he came in earlier, he had seen a bouquet of pink roses lying on the bed, blooming beautifully. Huo Beixing must have brought them for him.
Actually, An Yi really had been surprised that the man came to see him. After all, Huo Beixing appearing in his dorm was basically the same as performing a live magic trick. But he also knew about Huo Beixing’s power and family background. To get here and see him, the man had surely used connections.
And the reason he came… was simply because he missed him.
An Yi decided to coax him a bit. Though Huo Beixing didn’t say it outright, An Yi knew he wasn’t the sort to casually lay hands on other people.
After all, Huo Dabao was a good child.
He tried to look at Huo Beixing’s face, but the moment the other saw him, he unhappily turned his face away. So An Yi moved around to the right to look again, only for Huo Beixing to immediately turn left.
An Yi coaxed him gently. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong.” Huo Beixing lowered his head and refused to look at him. “I’m just a sad little boy, that’s all.”
An Yi: …
He glanced at Huo Beixing’s one-meter-ninety frame.
Since when did a little boy drag people around on the floor?
“Why are you unhappy? Tell me.”
As he spoke, An Yi gently shook his arm. Looking at his wife’s pale little face, Huo Beixing stayed silent for a few seconds. But these past days he’d missed him too much, and he couldn’t bear to sulk with him for long, so he told the truth.
“I was hiding under your blanket just now because I wanted to surprise you. Then he lifted it. He actually dared lift your blanket.”
Most of his anger came from the fact that the other man had dared to lift An Yi’s blanket. A smaller part came from the fact that his planned surprise had been ruined. Huo Beixing gritted his teeth as he said it, as though what He Ting had lifted wasn’t An Yi’s blanket, but Little Frog’s clothing.
Since everyone here was the same sex, An Yi didn’t think there was anything particularly wrong about someone lifting a blanket. So what if he lifted it? It wasn’t like anything terrible would happen.
But he also understood that Huo Beixing was possessive, and he could see exactly why the man was upset.
To him right now, it felt just like someone trying to steal his toy.
“He’s never lifted my blanket before. I’ll tell him later not to do it again.” An Yi stepped closer, tilting his head up to look at him, his voice gentle and soothing, trying to make him stop being angry.
Huo Beixing licked his lips and pulled him nearer, wanting him closer.
Only after hearing that the other man had never done it before did he finally feel satisfied.
He lowered his head and gripped An Yi’s wrist. It was so slender that it seemed as though it might snap if bent, so he didn’t dare use the kind of strength he had used on He Ting earlier.
Even standing right beside him, An Yi still felt too far away. Quietly, Huo Beixing slid an arm around his waist. Standing there at one meter ninety beside him, he spoke shyly. “Wife, did you miss me these past few days?”
His peach-blossom eyes drooped slightly, full of anticipation as he waited for An Yi’s answer.
An Yi didn’t make him wait. “I did.”
He really had missed him.
After all, between the competition and the work, his nerves had been wound tight the whole time. And when he got tired, he really did find himself thinking it would be nice if he were resting at home instead.
The moment Huo Beixing heard that he’d been missed too, that utterly cheap and happy look immediately surfaced on his face again. It was already late autumn. In a few more days, winter would begin.
Today was especially cold. An Yi wore a beige sweater, and his hair had been tidied neatly, making him look especially obedient.
Huo Beixing thought back to the video call his wife had made him earlier. He wanted to take another look. Since the thought came up, he didn’t hesitate. His long fingers hooked into An Yi’s sweater collar and pulled it open as he lowered his head to peer inside.
An Yi’s brow twitched, and he immediately backed up a step.
“Wh… what are you looking inside me for?”
Huo Beixing had only gotten a quick look, but even so he could tell that the marks he’d sucked onto An Yi’s neck before were gone.
He frowned. “They’re gone.”
An Yi didn’t understand. “What’s gone?”
Huo Beixing’s big hand settled on the back of his neck, making him tilt his head slightly. Looking at the long, pale line of his neck, Huo Beixing said, “The marks are gone.”
He’d sucked hard enough last time that he’d assumed they would stay there forever. Who would’ve guessed that after just a few days, they’d already faded?
At once, An Yi’s mind flew back to that moment in the car when he was leaving home.
Horror Movie: Swallowing Little Frog Alive 2.
These past few days he’d kept the marks hidden beneath his clothes, afraid anyone would see them. It was embarrassing. Back in the mountains, who ever went out with marks all over their neck? People would gossip and laugh you to death.
Looking at Huo Beixing’s expression and the hand holding the back of his neck, An Yi knew the man meant to leave another one on him.
The instant Huo Beixing began to move, An Yi jumped back like a rabbit, springing nearly two meters away.
Huo Beixing looked up at him. “Wife?”
An Yi’s eyes darted away, refusing to meet his gaze. “What?”
Huo Beixing said it as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “The marks are gone.”
If the marks were gone, then how was he supposed to assert his territory?
An Yi said, “If they’re gone, then they’re gone. They lived out their natural life.”
Huo Beixing replied, “Then I’ll bring them back to life.”
An Yi: “No need.”
Huo Beixing: “Why?”
An Yi: “Because they already lived enough.”
You’re already a big child now. Learn to let go.
Huo Beixing, however, clearly had no intention of leaving things there. Once he decided to do something, not even ten oxen could drag him back.
Seeing him advance step by step, An Yi turned to flee. But the bathroom wasn’t large—there was only that much space to begin with. Before he could even start running, Huo Beixing had already caught him.
Little Frog put all his strength into resisting. “Don’t… don’t make another mark, okay?”
Huo Beixing didn’t listen. Instead, he coaxed in a tempting voice, “Wife, it’ll only take a moment. When I’m done, I’ll give you candy.”
An Yi: …
Who wants that!!!
He was no three-year-old child. There was no way that kind of clumsy line could fool him.
Since hard resistance wasn’t working, An Yi softened his approach. Looking at him pitifully, he said, “It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just that it hurts too much. Can we not, please?”
Huo Beixing froze slightly, his arms around him going stiff. “It hurts?”
An Yi nodded.
That was a kind of pain no little frog’s life could bear.
The moment he heard An Yi say it hurt, hesitation visibly appeared on Huo Beixing’s face. Yet his arms still clamped around him like iron bands and refused to loosen.
The bathroom fell quiet for a moment.
Then, the next second, Huo Beixing scooped An Yi up by the knees as if he were lifting a child, and raised him off the ground. An Yi instantly ended up more than a head taller than him.
Looking up at him, Huo Beixing said, “Then Wife, make one on me instead.”
If he carried a mark out there with him, other people would know that his wife was the one who made it.
An Yi was a little stunned.
How was he supposed to do that? He didn’t know how, and he absolutely couldn’t picture himself doing something like that.
Huo Beixing might be mentally lacking, childish, and shameless—but he was sensible, all right?
Still, it was clear that unless he left a mark on Huo Beixing, the man wasn’t going to let the matter drop.
Looking at the expectant expression on his face, An Yi nervously swallowed. From childhood to now, he had never done something so embarrassing. And on top of that, he was being asked to do it now to someone mentally underdeveloped.
If he really did it, wouldn’t that be a little… inappropriate?
But Huo Beixing didn’t think about any of that at all. He simply tilted his head and offered the side of his neck to An Yi.
Looking at it, An Yi noticed how different his neck was from his own—rougher, broader. With his head turned, the tight lines of muscle in his neck showed clearly, and his Adam’s apple stood out sharply. It looked incredibly sexy.
An Yi swallowed and hesitated for a long time before finally saying, “I don’t know how.”
Huo Beixing looked at him. “Wife, just do it the way I did it to you last time.”
An Yi: …
As if that were something you could just learn.
Maybe he should just bite him instead. Fast and convenient.
The idea flashed into his mind, and An Yi immediately bent down and bit at the side of Huo Beixing’s neck.
But afraid of hurting him, he didn’t dare use much force. He only rubbed his teeth lightly against the skin.
Huo Beixing stiffened from the sensation, his breathing growing heavier. His arms around An Yi tightened, and he turned his face slightly to breathe in the scent on him.
Outside the bathroom, He Ting climbed up from the floor and paced restlessly like an old electric fan, circling outside the bathroom door with anxious, humming turns.
An Yi had been dragged in there for ages now and still hadn’t come out, not even making a sound.
Thinking back to the sheer force Huo Beixing had used dragging him around earlier, He Ting could only think—
The man was a complete brute!
He had also never imagined that An Yi would get entangled with someone like him.
His own family had some influence and status, high enough to tower over most people in their circle. But compared to the Huo family, a clan with a hundred-year foundation, it was still far too weak.
If he wanted to demand An Yi from Huo Beixing, he himself stood no chance at all.
Even if his father personally stepped in, it still might not work.
Not to mention what sort of punishment his father would mete out if he found out he’d offended Huo Beixing over a man.
His father doted on him completely, but in a situation where he was plainly the unreasonable one, he wouldn’t help him at all.
After all, all this would be for nothing more than a pretty little kept man with no value.
But An Yi truly gave him a different kind of feeling. He didn’t want to watch him continue to be kept like this. He wanted An Yi to cut ties with this kind of person.
Rumor had it that Huo Beixing had always been a notorious playboy, never lacking company at his side, and his tastes were said to be all kinds of wild. Who knew what sort of perverse things he might be into? An Yi looked so slim and delicate, his skin so fair it was as if he had never seen the sun. How could he possibly withstand that kind of torment
Wasn’t this obviously abuse?!
And besides, who knew how far the man’s tastes extended? Maybe in a few days he’d be tired of him and toss An Yi aside.
In He Ting’s mind, Huo Beixing was now firmly stamped with the label:
Pervert.
Looking at the firmly shut bathroom door, He Ting made up his mind.
He was going to rescue An Yi.
Just as he was about to raise a hand and pound hard on the bathroom door, it swung open from inside on its own before he could.
Huo Beixing stepped out looking completely satisfied. The moment he saw He Ting, he tilted his head provocatively to the side, deliberately showing off the teeth mark on his neck.
Made by Little Frog.
He Ting clenched his teeth. “What did you do to An Yi?”
Huo Beixing didn’t answer. He just kept proudly showing off the bite mark.
He Ting said, “Let An Yi go. Right now. Immediately.”
Huo Beixing frowned. “You want my wife?”
He Ting snapped, “So what if I do?!”
Huo Beixing immediately let out a snorting laugh, full of ridicule. “And you think you can satisfy my wife, skinny dog?”
