Chapter 239
After Chu Feng and the others left, the Stone People began howling, as if calling their companions.
In no time, hundreds of Stone People had gathered.
They swarmed toward the shattered mountain, searching for edible stones. The deep parts of the mountain contained plenty of their favorite food. Before, the Stone People had been too lazy to mine it, but now that the mountain was in pieces, it was much easier for them.
Two ability-users appeared not far from the mountain.
“That was terrifying.”
“Indeed.”
Qian Ming and Garuda—one human, one demon—were both top-tier ability-users. A few days ago, they’d had a dispute and agreed to duel here to settle it.
But just as they were about to fight, they had encountered Chu Feng’s “mountain-splitting” display.
“Those three earlier—they were all ability-users, right?” Garuda asked.
Qian Ming nodded. “Most likely. Two of them had incredibly strong energy fluctuations.”
Gan Ming was already over a hundred and fifty years old. Powerful ability-users tended to have longer lifespans, and Gan Ming considered himself well-traveled and knowledgeable. However, witnessing that “mountain-splitting” scene just now still left him feeling shocked.
Both Gan Ming and Garuda were the prideful sort, but upon discovering such a formidable rising talent, neither had the heart to continue their contest. They left in low spirits.
Gan Ming’s mood was still relatively calm, but Garuda’s face looked unpleasant.
Garuda could tell Illya was a half-elf, while Chu Feng appeared human. If the human side gained another exceptional combat ability-user, it would not bode well for the demon race.

Shaman Qiu Luo felt relieved when he saw them return.
“So soon? You’ve finished the task?” Shaman Qiu Luo asked.
Chu Feng nodded. “It’s done.”
“With spatial abilities, things are really convenient!” Qiu Luo said with some envy. Even though the Eagle Tribe could fly, traveling from here to the Stone People Tribe would still take several days.
Chu Feng nodded. “Yes. I think I’ve awakened a new branch ability.”
“Oh? What is it?”
Chu Feng raised his hand and instantly transported a cup from the table to the next room.
“You can teleport objects out of thin air now?” Qiu Luo asked.
Chu Feng nodded. “Yes.” This ability seemed quite useful; he could explore its potential further.
“Is this the Void Stone?” Qiu Luo asked, looking at the items in the box.
“Yes,” Chu Feng replied.
“Can you use it to make storage tools?”
Chu Feng shook his head regretfully. “No.”
Even among spatial ability-users, each had their own specialty. The previous spatial user’s power was likely lower than his, but they excelled in making storage tools.
“A pity,” Qiu Luo sighed.
“I can’t do it now,” Chu Feng smiled, “but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to in the future.”
If he could get his hands on one of that person’s storage tools, perhaps he could use it for reference.
“If you can make them, transporting goods would be much easier,” Qiu Luo said.
“We’ll see. For now, I have another matter that needs your help.” Chu Feng told him about the Butterfly Tribe.
“That’s not a big deal. I can help,” Qiu Luo agreed.
“Will you have the time?”
“There’s Jocelyn to handle things here. I can be away for a few days. The Butterfly Tribe excels at cultivating spirit flowers—there are said to be over a hundred kinds in Butterfly Valley. It’s a beautiful place. We might even be able to get some rare seeds. Many of their flowers taste wonderful. If we can grow them, we could make flower pastries.”
“That sounds good,” Chu Feng said. “We could make a lot.” If they produced enough, he could even bring them back to sell as gifts in the modern world.
“When can we go to Butterfly Valley?”
“I’ll check with Lan Hu to see when arrangements can be made.”
“Alright.”
Chu Feng thought to himself: So many things, one after another…
After getting Qiu Luo’s agreement, Chu Feng teleported to Tianhai.
“Boss, you’re back so soon? You didn’t go to the Stone People Tribe?” Lan Hu asked in confusion.
“I did, and I got the item,” Chu Feng replied.
Lan Hu blinked. “Your efficiency is amazing! It hasn’t even been two hours since you got the Stone People map!”
Chu Feng waved it off. “No big deal. The Butterfly Tribe matter is settled. The Shaman is willing to help. When can we go? I still have plenty to do and need to return to the other side of the sea.”
The fire phoenix seemed to be negotiating with the National Bureau of Paranormal Abilities—he wondered how that was going.
“The Butterfly Tribe is ready anytime. We’re just waiting on the Shaman.”
“Alright, I’ll bring him over now.”
“Are we going today?” Lan Hu asked excitedly.
“Yes. Let’s finish before dark.”
“Understood. I’ll inform the Butterfly Tribe.”
“There’s one more thing I need you to prepare,” Chu Feng added.
“What is it?”
“Find out if any of those old spatial storage tools can be traded for. If they can, get them. If not, find out where they are.”
“Got it,” Lan Hu said.
If they can’t be traded… is he planning to steal them? Lan Hu wondered.
“Something you want to say?” Chu Feng asked.
Lan Hu took a deep breath. “Boss, when you went to the Stone People Tribe, did you meet anyone unusual?”
“Not really. Why?”
“I just got word that the human Protector Mage Gan Ming and the demon High Shaman Garuda arranged to spar near the Stone People Tribe.”
Great… this news came way too late, Lan Hu thought.
Chu Feng raised an eyebrow. “Protector Mage and High Shaman? Sounds impressive.”
“Did you see them?”
“When I was splitting the mountain, I did see two people sneakily watching from nearby. Might’ve been them.”
Lan Hu: “…Boss, that’s not something you should say! If someone hears you, aren’t you afraid of getting beaten? I sure am!”
Qian Ming and Garuda had long since retired, but they still had many loyal supporters.
Chu Feng gave Lan Hu a glance and said, “You’re a big boss yourself now, and that’s all the courage you’ve got?”
Lan Hu: …
Lan Hu thought for a moment and said, “Lord Gan Ming and Garuda are lofty figures who can summon the wind and rain, omnipotent. The two people you saw, Boss, probably weren’t them.”
Chu Feng curled his lip. “Why not? Just because they’re experts, they can’t sneak around all shady and suspicious-like?”
Lan Hu: …
Chu Feng waved his hand. “Alright, enough of that. Let’s deal with the Butterfly People first.”
Lan Hu nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. “Okay, I’ll have a few of the Butterfly People brought here.”
Chu Feng kept Illya behind and went alone to pick up Shaman Qiu Luo. When Chu Feng arrived, several Butterfly People were circling around Illya. Sensing the herbal aura on the, the little butterflies all fluttered over to Shaman Qiu Luo.
Chu Feng looked at Illya and asked, “Did you work it out?”
Illya nodded. “Yes. If possible, the Butterfly Clan would also like to trade for some spirit soil.”
Chu Feng frowned slightly. “How do they know about the spirit soil?”
“The Butterfly Clan seems to have some connection with the Mulberry Maidens. Maybe they put in a good word, so the Butterfly People trust them a lot.”
Chu Feng nodded. “I see. Do you know where the Butterfly Clan is located?”
Illya nodded. “I do.”
“Good. Let’s go then.”
Illya called to a few of the Butterfly People, and they gathered cautiously around her, keeping a wary eye on Chu Feng.
Chu Feng frowned. “Why are they looking at me like that? Like I’m some scary old creep?”
“They know you chopped down the big tree in Rainbow Silkworm Village, so they’re a little afraid of you,” Illya explained.
Chu Feng smirked inwardly. These Butterfly People—small bodies, small courage too.
“Will they be teleporting with us? Can their bodies handle it?”
Illya asked them a few questions, and after a brief discussion, they nodded.
“They should be fine,” Illya said. “I’ll use my powers to protect them.”
“Alright then.” Chu Feng took Illya, Shaman Qiu Luo, and the Butterfly People to Butterfly Valley.
Upon arrival, the Butterfly People were all fine, though they flew a bit wobbly, like they were carsick. Chu Feng noticed vast flower fields, but many flowers were in poor condition, looking stunted.
The Butterfly People looked worried. Since they fed on pollen and nectar, poor flower growth meant food shortages, which could starve the newborns.
Chu Feng glanced at Shaman Qiu Luo. “Can you fix it?”
Shaman Qiu Luo nodded. “It’s not a big problem.”
Most of the flowers here were ordinary, so it wouldn’t take much effort.
“Then get started,” Chu Feng said.
Shaman Qiu Luo used his abilities on the unhealthy patches of flowers. Plants that had seemed about to wither quickly revived under his powers. He waved his hand, and whole swathes of flowers bloomed in a riot of colors. A gentle fragrance drifted through the air.
The Butterfly People were overjoyed. A few little ones even made a flower crown and placed it around Shaman Qiu Luo’s neck.
Illya and Chu Feng sat on a hillside watching. After a while, a small Butterfly Person fluttered over to Illya and whispered something.
“We can return to the mortal realm now,” Illya said.
“And the?” Chu Feng asked.
“The Butterfly Clan invited him to stay a few days. When we come back next time, we’ll take him back to Crescent Village,” Illya explained.
Chu Feng raised an eyebrow. Did the Shaman get so enchanted by the flowers he couldn’t bear to leave? I never realized he was such a “flower addict.”
“Alright, let’s go,” Chu Feng said. He’d been away for a long time and wondered what the situation was back in the mortal realm.
