Zhuang Feixue Gets Into Trouble

Chapter 170: Zhuang Feixue Gets Into Trouble

A few days later, Manning came to see Chu Feng.

Chu Feng looked at Manning in surprise. “You’re going back to the other world?”

Manning nodded. “Yeah, I want to go rest there for a while.”

Chu Feng blinked. So many people had come here, but Manning was the first one who actually wanted to return. That wasn’t easy. Not easy at all.

Chu Feng nodded. “That’s fine.”

Manning asked excitedly, “Can I take the stuff I bought here back with me?”

“Of course. You bought a lot of tablets, didn’t you?”

Manning nodded. “I recorded lots of language-learning videos. I plan to study when I get back, so next time I come over, I can speak more fluently.”

Chu Feng: …He had really underestimated Manning.

“That’s the right idea. You can watch with a few others. If there are more people who want to come over from that world, it’d be best if they learn some of the language too. Even a little bit helps.” Chu Feng had long wanted to find a language teacher for people from the other world, but hadn’t found a good candidate yet.

Manning nodded. “Okay.”

When Chu Feng went to see Manning off, he helped carry three full suitcases. He realized he’d definitely underestimated Manning’s shopping power.

When Manning returned to the other world with his suitcases, he was warmly welcomed by the locals.

As Manning was escorted off by the crowd, Chu Feng looked at him and felt it was kind of like a triumphant homecoming.

Illya looked at Chu Feng and said, “Let’s go see the shaman first.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Sure!”

Illya looked at him curiously. “You seem a little nervous.”

Chu Feng smiled. “Not really.”

Chu Feng rubbed his forehead. Lately, he had been busy searching for witch stones in the real world, leaving the affairs of the other world entirely to the shaman. Because of that, whenever he saw the shaman now, he felt a bit guilty. Illya looked at him and said, “Let’s go.”

Shaman Qiu Luo smiled as he watched Chu Feng and Illya enter the house. “You’re here. How was the effect of the strengthening liquid?”

Chu Feng smiled. “Pretty good. I used it all up.”

Originally, Chu Feng had planned to sell some of the strengthening liquid, but it felt so good to bathe in it that he ended up using all of it for baths.

Shaman Qiu Luo nodded. “As long as it helped.”

“I just took a walk around the castle district. The construction there seems to be going really fast!”

Qiu Luo nodded. “Yes! The main city has already been completed. But Boss, you’ve been too busy—you haven’t even stayed here once.”

The castle was a collaborative project among various races. It turned out beautifully, and everyone was satisfied.

Unfortunately, Chu Feng had been busy on the other side of the sea this whole time, always coming and going in a rush. No one had actually moved into the newly built castle, which left people feeling a little disappointed.

Chu Feng smiled. “You can move in, Shaman.”

Qiu Luo shook her head. “I’m fine living here.” Compared to the past, the living conditions had already improved a lot.

Chu Feng looked out the window. “It’s snowing.”

Qiu Luo nodded. “It started snowing quite a while ago. If my prediction is right, there will be a once-in-decades heavy snowfall in a few days. Fortunately, you came this year. Otherwise, many people in Crescent Village might’ve frozen to death.”

Chu Feng chuckled. “Glad I did. I saw a lot of air conditioners being installed.”

Qiu Luo nodded. “Yes! Air conditioners are amazing. It’s so cold lately. All the newborns in the tribe are being kept in air-conditioned rooms. It’s just too cold—newborns can’t withstand the cold. Without air conditioning, they would’ve died.”

Chu Feng asked, “Are there enough air conditioners? If not, I’ll bring more.”

Qiu Luo nodded. “We’re about okay. The dwarves are working on a new model. If all goes well, we may have the ‘Tear Crystal AC’ ready next year.”

Chu Feng looked puzzled. “Tear Crystal AC? What’s that?”

“Tear Crystals are a type of energy source. The dwarves plan to use them as a replacement for electricity,” Qiu Luo explained.

Chu Feng frowned. “Is that even possible?”

Qiu Luo shrugged. “No idea. It’s an old project the dwarves started years ago but failed. Recently, something must have inspired them to restart it.”

Chu Feng narrowed his eyes and thought: Even if it doesn’t work, there’s no harm in trying.

Chu Feng and Illya strolled around the area. Unlike his usual rushed visits, this time he finally relaxed and looked around. “Everything’s changed so much,” Chu Feng said.

Illya nodded. “Yeah! It’s all because of you.”

Chu Feng smiled modestly. “Not really.”

He had merely sparked the fire, but with everyone’s efforts, that fire had become a blazing forge of reform.

As he wandered, Chu Feng offered some kind words and encouragement to the people. Since he hadn’t shown up in a long time, everyone was excited to see him, which made him feel a bit guilty.

Standing atop a tall tower, Chu Feng looked out at the vast expanse of white snow. His feelings were mixed.

Illya looked at him and asked, “What are you thinking about?”

“This whole area… it’s my domain now,” Chu Feng said.

Illya nodded. “Yes! You’re amazing.”

Chu Feng: “…?” Am I really that amazing? It still feels kind of unreal…

After sending Manning off, several more days passed in a blink.

Illya sat in a restaurant, looking at Chu Feng with a serious expression. “Something’s happened!”

Chu Feng nodded. “I know.”

Something big had occurred in the entertainment industry: top-tier actress Xue Ying had committed suicide with sleeping elixirs.

After her death, Zhuang Feixue was dragged into the mess.

They had been rivals—taking similar career paths, competing intensely, and their respective companies often released statements targeting each other. That’s how the entertainment world worked: even unrelated people could be turned into archrivals with bitter feuds.

There had been a few public spats between Zhuang Feixue and Xue Ying, and fans had long viewed them as enemies.

With Xue Ying’s death, her fans had nowhere to direct their grief, so they turned their fury toward Zhuang Feixue.

Suddenly, the internet was filled with hate toward Zhuang Feixue. Many aggressive fans were even cursing her to die.

Chu Feng figured his sister must be under immense pressure. Gossip can cut deeper than knives.

Stars may seem glamorous, but the suicide rate in the industry isn’t low.

Illya asked, “What are we going to do?”

Chu Feng shook his head. “I don’t know.”

He didn’t know much about the entertainment world. “My sister will probably find a way to handle it.”

After all, she’d been in the business for years. She wouldn’t be defeated so easily.

And if it came down to it—if she really couldn’t stay in showbiz anymore—she could always come home and inherit billions in family wealth. Or even retire and join him selling sketchy products. Life had plenty of paths.

Illya tilted his head. “Take some time to visit your sister.”

Chu Feng nodded. “Good idea.”

He hadn’t seen her in a long time. The shaman’s side was short on ingredients, so they couldn’t make any elixirs—but he could go buy some wine in Tianhai City. There should still be some left…

At the Zhuang residence.

Zhuang Ming was in a good mood. Ever since the scandal with Chu Feng broke, he hadn’t felt this cheerful.

“Second Uncle’s family finally got knocked down a peg. If nothing else happens to suppress them, they’ll think they can take over the sky.”

Zhuang Zhiming frowned and said, “It’s just a dead minor celebrity. It’s got nothing to do with Zhuang Feixue. This will be suppressed soon. Second Uncle has already pulled some strings to get the trending topic removed. The heat should die down soon.”

Zhuang Ming frowned and said, “You can’t say that. It’s still a human life. Besides, isn’t there an ability-user behind the deceased?”

Zhuang Zhiming gave a cold snort. “Just an ability-user. They have to eat too. What’s so great about the guy behind Xue Ying? Just some beekeeper who awakened an ability and started acting all high and mighty. It’s a useless ability anyway. I heard he was just a backup option for Xue Ying, and now he thinks he’s something.”

Recently, ability-users had become commonplace and were no longer as eye-catching as when they first appeared.

Zhuang Ming glanced at Zhuang Zhiming but didn’t speak. He knew his second brother liked to talk down on ability-users, but deep down he dability-userately wanted to become one. There had been an organization that claimed it could awaken superpowers in ordinary people, but required a 10 million yuan membership fee. Zhuang Zhiming and a few of his friends joined—and got scammed out of tens of millions.

After that, the scammer vanished. The spoiled rich kids were too embarrassed to admit they’d been tricked, so they kept it quiet. Zhuang Ming thought his brother was a complete idiot—falling for something so obvious. Compared to Chu Feng, a mere delivery guy, he was far worse. Zhuang Ming actually thought the beekeeper by Xue Ying’s side was quite impressive. He could command a swarm of bees.

The honey those bees produced seemed to be quite effective for skincare too. Xue Ying had been handing out jars as gifts. Though the honey wasn’t as powerful as beauty elixirs, it was still rare and popular among female celebrities in the industry.

If it weren’t for the rise of the beauty elixirs, that honey might have made a big name for itself.

“I heard Second Uncle gave Grandpa some monkey wine. That stuff supposedly lowers blood pressure—any truth to that?”

Zhuang Zhiming nodded. “Seems like it. A doctor recently checked on Grandpa. He’s doing pretty well. Grandpa likes to drink, and in their social circle there are some wine connoisseurs. When someone finds a good bottle, they sometimes get together to taste it.”

Second Uncle had apparently hosted a private wine-tasting party a few days ago—small guest list, but all influential people.

“I think that wine was supplied by Chu Feng.”

Zhuang Zhiming sounded confused. “Why is he involved in everything?”

He used to think Second Uncle’s branch of the family would be humiliated because of Chu Feng, but now it seemed things were going quite the opposite—elixirs, jade, monkey wine… This Chu Feng really had luck on his side.
