Chapter 49: Secretary Shen, Let Me Mark You
Shen Chi did not believe Jiang Lige’s words. He was a perfectly normal Beta. He had merely been stimulated into pseudo-estrus by that S-rank bastard, Lu Chenzhou.

What a joke.
He was a Beta. How could he possibly have a heat?
Shen Chi propped both hands on the sink. A layer of mist rose in his beautiful, cold eyes. He seemed to smell a choking scent of gunpowder smoke. Threads of S-rank pheromones wound around him, domineering and forceful. He could even feel a humiliating pressure, yet within that pressure, there was strangely something that made one want to sink into it.

Lu Chenzhou deserved one slap, and Jiang Lige deserved two. Neither of these two was anything good.
“You two…” The pheromones in the restroom were far too thick. Shen Chi suppressed the strange shiver running through his body and gritted his teeth. “One Alpha, one Omega. Have you both forgotten this is the male Beta restroom?”
After waiting for so long, this was the sentence they got from Shen Chi.
Jiang Lige paused, then suddenly burst into laughter. He raised a bright smile and withdrew from the restroom. But when he passed Lu Chenzhou, he stopped again. “President Lu, aren’t you leaving? Oh, does President Lu have some strange fetish? Do you like watching your secretary use the restroom?”
Lu Chenzhou’s more than twenty years of upbringing told him not to lay a hand on an Omega, but Jiang Lige in front of him had tested his patience again and again.
He looked down at him from above, his gaze cold and mocking.
Just as Jiang Lige was already prepared to fight, Lu Chenzhou actually sneered. “That’s right. I like it. Does Mr. Jiang have a problem with that?”

Lu Chenzhou said, “If you don’t, then get lost. If you do, I’ll send you rolling.”
After a brief pause, Jiang Lige let out a loud burst of laughter.
Before coming here, he had looked into Lu Chenzhou’s personal information. To make someone like him say something so completely against his nature, Secretary Shen really was different.
He licked the corner of his lips, turned back, and gave Shen Chi a sweet smile. “Mr. Shen, I’m very happy to have met you. See you next time.”
Shen Chi pressed his lips together without speaking.
Jiang Lige knew when to stop. If he stayed any longer, the Alpha’s pheromones might tear him apart. As expected of an S-rank. Truly impressive.
Once he left, Lu Chenzhou walked closer with an ugly expression.
If Shen Chi was unwilling to come over, he could go over himself. These were all trivial matters. He did not care.
But when his approach made Shen Chi instinctively step back, a crack appeared in Lu Chenzhou’s cold expression.

“Shen Chi, what are you hiding from?”

Lu Chenzhou thought darkly. So what if Shen Chi was a Beta? He could still make him unable to leave him.
“Secretary Shen, your heat has arrived.” Lu Chenzhou spoke calmly, but secretly released more pheromones, wrapping them around Shen Chi while coaxing him. “It’s okay. Have you forgotten? “Secretary Shen, all medicine carries some poison.”
Shen Chi finally exploded. Staggering, he grabbed Lu Chenzhou’s suit. Because he used too much force, his fingertips turned faintly white. “I don’t care if it poisons me to death. Give me the medicine.”
The smile on Lu Chenzhou’s face gradually faded. S-rank Alphas were already terrifying enough. Usually, in order to get along with others, they had to restrain themselves. But now, he had only released a little of the violent wildness inside him, and it was already enough to make one’s hair stand on end.
He slowly took Shen Chi’s medicine out of his pocket and opened it in front of him.
Just when the system thought he was finally going to act like a person, he actually stuffed the medicine into his own mouth.

Expressionlessly, Lu Chenzhou chewed up the bitter tablets and swallowed them. Then he threw the box into the nearby trash can. After that, he spread his hands toward Shen Chi and smiled. “Aiya, Secretary Shen, I’m truly sorry. I accidentally ate your medicine. What should we do now?”
Those troubled words, paired with his actions, shook the system’s entire system-life.
How could a person be this much of a dog?!
The strength in Shen Chi’s hand gripping his suit gradually faded. Just as he was about to slide down, Lu Chenzhou reached out and held him again.
He bent down slightly, bringing their faces almost close together. Their breaths intertwined, and Lu Chenzhou felt as though he had been hooked by him. The pheromone wristband on his wrist once again began flashing red wildly, as if warning him of something. Unfortunately, no one paid any attention.
“Secretary Shen.” Lu Chenzhou curved his lips, speaking as if coaxing a kindergarten child, patient and gentle. “You’re unwilling to let me bite you because you’re afraid your partner will find out?”
Shen Chi’s eyes were red. He could not hear what Lu Chenzhou was saying at all. He only kept shaking his head helplessly.
Lu Chenzhou laughed instead. “It’s okay. You’re a Beta. Betas can’t be marked. Even if I bite you, we’re only treating an illness. If your partner gets angry, then that’s her fault.”
