Chapter 28: Don’t You Smell It on Him?
“I am in a hurry.”
“Who said I wasn’t?”
Beneath Shen Chi’s smile that did not reach his eyes, he was nearly grinding his teeth to pieces.
Lu Chenzhou lifted his deep eyes and looked at him coolly. The slight distance he had made seemed less like giving way and more like a standoff between the two of them.
In the end, Shen Chi lost.
He turned sideways and walked past Lu Chenzhou. The space was far too narrow. Their clothes brushed against each other ambiguously, and Lu Chenzhou could even smell the fruity fragrance beneath the scent of gunpowder smoke on him.
The gunpowder scent was his pheromones. It had spread from him and finally wrapped tightly around Shen Chi. As for the fruity scent, his little secretary liked eating fruit. Coincidentally, he had recently started liking fruit too.
Shen Chi did not dare think too much. He only wanted to pass by him quickly and did not notice those tiny details at all.
Once he left, the darkness in Lu Chenzhou’s eyes was no longer concealed. Malice began to grow, and in the blink of an eye, he met Ye Suxi’s gaze.
Ye Suxi had a cute and pure face, but his eyes were sinister and cold.
They were clearly an Alpha and an Omega, supposedly the most perfect combination, yet now they looked as though they wished they could draw knives on each other.
“President Lu, you are only Mr. Shen’s boss, not his husband. After work, Mr. Shen is free. Staring at him like this is a little too domineering, isn’t it?”
Their statuses were unequal. Ye Suxi was like a stray who had run out from the slums. He sharpened his tongue to arm himself, but in front of Lu Chenzhou, it was almost laughable.
“So what?” A rare curve appeared at the corner of Lu Chenzhou’s icy face as he sneered. “Secretary Shen earns five hundred thousand a year, not including year-end bonuses. What can Mr. Ye give him?”
To strike a snake, strike its vital point. Right now, Ye Suxi’s problem was not just that he had no money. When his grandmother passed away, he had even owed medical expenses.
Ye Suxi clenched his fists, but there was no sign of retreat on his face. “Other than money, what else can President Lu give him?”
“Only money can nourish a person. Without money…” His gaze swept over the sunflowers on the table. His eyes darkened, and he sneered. “You can’t even afford sunflowers.”
Ye Suxi picked up the sunflowers and smiled sweetly. “It doesn’t matter if I can’t afford them. Mr. Shen will give them to me. Unlike some people, who don’t even know whether money can make someone stay.”
Those words were like a sharp knife stabbing straight into Lu Chenzhou’s heart.
Everything Shen Chi did for him was because of his identity.
If that layer were stripped away, forget giving flowers. If Shen Chi ran into him, he would probably take a detour.
Lu Chenzhou laughed. His smile deepened, but the veins on the back of his hand bulged. He leaned back, his posture lazy. “Mr. Ye spent so long with Secretary Shen. Didn’t you smell the scent on him? Not only on him, I’m afraid even that bouquet of sunflowers carries another scent too.”
Ye Suxi, who had originally been holding the sunflowers to show them off, almost threw them away.
Indeed, aside from their original scent, the sunflowers were faintly wrapped in a trace of S-rank Alpha pheromones. It was very faint, yet extremely aggressive.

Should he call public security and say they were causing trouble and fighting? Or should he call Omega protection services and say an Omega was being bullied? But Ye Suxi’s appearance did not look like he was being bullied. He looked like he wanted to jump up and kill the other party!
The owner was worried to death.

Shen Chi hissed softly and sighed. “This is only their second meeting, yet they already have such strong possessiveness. Lu Chenzhou definitely doesn’t want me sitting with Ye Suxi. Look at his eyes. He looks like he wants to kill me.”

“Boss, can we add another seat here?”

The owner said, “Of course. I’ll add one right away.”
