Chapter 65: About to Hatch
Sitting together with his blood-related family, He Siming’s anxiety symptoms noticeably eased, and he was fully able to face He Zhixian’s congratulations with composure.
Because it was the truth.
At this moment, He Siming even put on that cool, aloof “campus heartthrob” demeanor:
“Thank you, Dad. Congratulations to you too—you’re about to become a grandpa.”
Jiang Rong quietly let out a breath of relief.
He Zhixian didn’t feel that anything was off about him; his attitude was the same as before.
Still, he couldn’t help but look at Jiang Rong a few more times.
Inside, he was still reeling from the shock that his son’s partner was a boy—and that this boy was about to give their He family a little grandchild.
There was an information gap between He Zhixian and them.
“Didn’t you ask me to find experts earlier? Why don’t you need them anymore?”
Xu Mingqin said, “Of course it’s because the problem’s been solved. Once it’s solved, there’s no need for you.”
He Zhixian had a gentle, steady temperament. Not yet fifty, he was mild and refined both in appearance and in manner.
“What a pity. I thought I might be able to help a bit. Um—Jiang Rong, right?”
It was Jiang Rong’s first time meeting He Zhixian. He’d been a little nervous before coming.
“Yes, Uncle.”
“You two are in the same major, right? What are your plans for the future—starting your own business, or…?” He Zhixian never strayed far from his own field of expertise.
Since they weren’t talking about having a baby, Jiang Rong felt much more natural. He did have his own plans for the future.
“I’m currently doing research projects with my advisor. Later, I want to go into intelligent R&D, and next year I plan to study psychology as a second major.”
Xu Mingqin felt very pleased hearing this.
“Young people should strive. I support you. He Siming, the company you and Tang Yucheng started together is doing well too. Interested in collaborating with us? Are your R&D bonuses sufficient? I can invest.”
He Zhixian said, “If you invest, won’t you be taking away his say? Even your son’s money—you want a cut of that too?”
He Siming replied, “No need, Mom. Our research bonuses are sufficient. I’ll be transferring part of my company shares to Jiang Rong—he’ll also have decision-making power in the company.”
Jiang Rong didn’t know whether what He Siming had said before was serious; he’d always thought he was joking.
Before they knew it, the four of them had drifted into talking about careers, and they didn’t bring up having a baby again.
This kind of atmosphere suited the four of them better. It successfully shifted He Siming’s attention back into his comfort zone—also the area Jiang Rong and He’s parents were most adept in.
Jiang Rong ate this meal more attentively than he did in class, learning many ideas he’d never encountered before.
Both He Zhixian and Xu Mingqin were people with broad vision. By contrast, Jiang Rong had been cooped up on campus every day; his environment and the information he received were too limited, which was why he lacked such expansive thinking.
He Siming had probably been focusing too much on Jiang Rong and the baby recently, which was why his anxiety had worsened. After communicating with his parents today, his mind felt much clearer.
Before He Zhixian and Xu Mingqin left, they still brought up the matter of summer vacation.
“You two should come home to live during the summer. There are plenty of rooms there, and the housekeeper can stay too—it’ll be convenient to take care of both the adult and the baby. At the very least, you should recover properly before going back to school for classes.”
They also had a place in the capital, but no one lived there year-round; it was just cleaned regularly.
If not for He Siming suddenly becoming a father, they wouldn’t have thought the family would live together at home so often.
He Siming didn’t refuse.
“Then we’ll move back after exams. Jiang Rong still needs to finish his finals, and I still have classes too.”
As always, Xu Mingqin placed more importance on academics and career.
“You really do need to finish finals first. Otherwise it’ll gnaw at you, and you’ll definitely regret it later.”
Jiang Rong completely understood that feeling and nodded repeatedly.
“Yes, exactly.”
He Siming increasingly felt that Jiang Rong and his mother shared a lot of resonance—especially in their drive for careers. It seemed he had yet another headache to worry about. Would Rongrong end up loving work as much as his parents did?
After parting with He Zhixian and Xu Mingqin, He Siming became much more energized, his overall spirit noticeably different.
He’d been so anxious lately that he couldn’t even focus on company matters. Two major issues in their software development still hadn’t been resolved, yet today he suddenly had new ideas.
When they got home, He Siming didn’t immediately turn on his computer to tackle the problems. Instead, he hugged Jiang Rong from behind, pressing close to him affectionately.
“How did you think of calling my parents over?”
He wasn’t stupid. His parents wouldn’t come to the capital for no reason. Normally, even finding time to eat required scheduling, yet this time they were staying several days. Saying there was nothing behind it would be hard to believe.
Jiang Rong placed He Siming’s hands on his belly, letting him support it—his waist was really sore from the weight.
Jiang Rong knew he couldn’t hide it.
“So you already know?”
He Siming said, “It was hard not to. They talked a lot today—usually they only say a couple of sentences to me before switching to work.”
Jiang Rong chuckled.
“Then the way your family of three interacts is pretty simple.”
He Siming actually knew that himself.
“We probably lack communication. Today felt like we said almost everything we’ve been holding in for years.”
Jiang Rong asked, “Then would you mind talking more in the future?”
Being accepted by He’s parents without being disliked already felt unbelievable to Jiang Rong.
Of course, he didn’t absolutely need their approval, but they were He Siming’s parents, the child’s future grandparents. If life could be a bit better, why make things harder for himself? In this world, he had no other family.
He Siming said, “That’s fine, but don’t place too much hope in them.”
He knew their parents’ devotion to their careers too well. Becoming grandparents wouldn’t stop them from pursuing their work.
Jiang Rong turned and hugged He Siming.
“Mm.” He hadn’t had high expectations to begin with, so there was no disappointment.
He Zhixian and Xu Mingqin did stay in the capital for a few days, but aside from eating together on the first and last day, the couple met with them separately.
Life returned to normal. He Siming went to school during the day and came home at night to keep Jiang Rong company. He’d been going to the company more often lately. His anxiety symptoms eased somewhat, but he became extremely busy.
The weather grew hotter.
Jiang Rong was sensitive to heat, so they turned on the air conditioning at home. After using it too much, he caught a cold and had nasal congestion for two days. Fortunately, He Siming cooked ginger water for him, and he recovered.
He Siming wanted to scold him a little, but before he could open his mouth, Jiang Rong leaned in and kissed him, blocking his lips—instantly leaving him with no temper at all.
In mid-June, Jiang Rong went to the hospital for a full-body MRI. His physical structure was laid bare before the doctors.
What made him quietly breathe a sigh of relief was that he only had one extra gland at the back of his neck compared to them.
He Siming also had one done himself. Since he could smell Jiang Rong’s pheromones, he suspected he might have glands too. The result was that he didn’t—his physical structure was different from Jiang Rong’s.
Based on Jiang Rong’s body, the doctors determined a surgical plan. They remained optimistic but very cautious. This plan had only been finalized after several meetings—something Xu Mingqin later told Jiang Rong and He Siming.
In late June, the entire country entered the hottest time of the year.
Final exams for their major also began.
Although Jiang Rong hadn’t been attending classes on campus, He Siming taught him at home and highlighted exam keypoints. His coursework hadn’t fallen behind at all—he was even far ahead of his classmates. After all, he had a top expert teaching him. Moreover, Jiang Rong was smart and hardworking, studying at home even more diligently than students on campus.
Starting today, Jiang Rong had to return to school for exams—but his belly was really hard to hide.
He tried on several loose shirts, but his belly was still obvious.
Now he’d changed into one of He Siming’s oversized T-shirts, spinning in front of the mirror.
“What should I do? It still seems hard to hide.”
He Siming couldn’t bring himself to lie. He also didn’t want Jiang Rong to be pointed at or gossiped about behind his back—that would hurt more than being cursed to his face.
“Let me think.” Soon, he came up with an idea. “I remember Tang Yucheng learned street dance until middle school. His clothes were all very hip-hop style—really baggy. I’ll ask him where he bought them.”
This was a field Jiang Rong had never touched. He studied static instruments; dance was really not his thing.
“Okay.”
He Siming asked Tang Yucheng for the brand store.
Tang Yucheng found it strange.
“Your rebellious phase has arrived?”
He Siming said, “Of course not. I have a use for it. Hurry up and send me the store name and address.”
The clothes arrived—plenty baggy. When Jiang Rong put them on, his belly really wasn’t that noticeable anymore. When going out, he added a sun-protection jacket, hiding about seventy to eighty percent of it. Unless you looked carefully, you couldn’t tell.
Satisfied!
If Jiang Rong still felt uneasy, He Siming had a last resort: contacting all the teachers to arrange a separate exam room just for Jiang Rong. It would be a bit of trouble, but workable.
Returning to campus again after two months, Jiang Rong felt cheerful when he finally saw Yao Shule and the others.
At last—exams.
The teachers compressed the exam schedule into a week and a half. After finishing exams, Jiang Rong wouldn’t need to return to school.
Yao Shule remembered that Jiang Rong was having surgery during summer vacation. He even asked if Jiang Rong needed him to accompany him. Jiang Rong firmly said no, telling him to enjoy his summer. By the time summer was over, his incision should have healed.
Seeing how determined Jiang Rong was, Yao Shule could only drop the matter.
After the last exam, Yao Shule was about to go home. He wanted to hug Jiang Rong, but seeing his slightly large belly, he gave up.
Reluctantly, he said, “Make sure you tell us after the surgery.”
Jiang Rong smiled and waved at him.
“I will.”
Yao Shule said, “The surgery has to go smoothly!”
Jiang Rong replied, “It definitely will.”
July was just around the corner, with only half a month left until the due date.
If calculated by this world’s standards, his due date would actually be pushed back another month.
As soon as vacation started, the two of them began packing to move back home.
They weren’t just going back for three to five days—they had to bring all the baby’s clothes and supplies.
They spent a whole day packing.
Although Jiang Rong mainly just directed, walking around with a big belly was still tiring.
At night, even though it was time to sleep, his body intensely craved He Siming’s pheromones.
He Siming didn’t go to bed early; he was still in the living room dealing with issues in their new software.
The software the company launched had taken off. Traffic was huge, and with summer vacation, it wasn’t just a small hit—users were flooding in. Many new media accounts were moving in as well. There were still many features to develop, and during these two months at home, Jiang Rong had provided quite a few new ideas.
Some people valued their company at over ten billion. If not for Tang Yucheng taking the spotlight up front, He Siming would probably be chased by interviewers.
At school, he was no longer just known as the campus heartthrob—he’d become a legend. Before even reaching his junior year, he already owned a company valued at over ten billion. Professors called him “a promising youngster,” and students could only look on in awe.
When asked, He Siming never took credit. He said the company wasn’t his achievement alone—behind him was a powerful mind. Every breakout feature had been provided by his partner; he only supplied the technical services.
Jiang Rong knew about this too. He’d merely distilled features that countless people in his world found useful, and he didn’t dare take credit either—he felt he hadn’t really done anything.
Many people began speculating about who He Siming’s partner was. They’d never seen him especially close with anyone, so it must not be someone from campus. Someone who could provide breakout features had to be extremely knowledgeable about product design, possibly even older than He Siming. In that case, it must be a guiding-type lover.
Alumni grew even more curious about He Siming’s partner—it was driving them crazy with curiosity.
But all of that was beside the point.
Right now, Jiang Rong felt uncomfortable. Every cell in his body craved the invasion of He Siming’s pheromones.
He hadn’t felt like this in a long time.
Over the past few months, He Siming had barely left him for more than a day, and pheromone replenishment had always been timely.
Jiang Rong struggled to the sofa, bracing himself on it.
“He Siming, I think I really need pheromones.”
This wave of need came fiercely. His legs went weak and limp, and even his voice turned soft and feeble.
He Siming hadn’t seen Jiang Rong like this in a long time. It brought him back to the first time. He used to find it fun; now it actually frightened him a bit.
He tossed aside the mouse and strode over, pulling Jiang Rong into his arms.
“Why so sudden?”
Normally, the house was filled with He Siming’s pheromone scent. Jiang Rong shouldn’t have been this intense.
Jiang Rong clutched his clothes, unconsciously starting to tug at them.
“I really need it. It’s so uncomfortable. The pheromones from last night feel like they were suddenly drained.”
He Siming lowered his head and kissed him.
“I know.”
He scooped him up and carried him back to the bedroom. In this state, Jiang Rong definitely couldn’t walk.
Jiang Rong had originally planned to rest. He didn’t wear long pants to sleep, and in summer, wearing too much was especially hot.
Now, that made things convenient.
He Siming gently laid him on the bed. Jiang Rong was so uncomfortable he couldn’t help but moan.
“Y-you, hurry.” He’d never urged He Siming so bluntly before. “It’s—so uncomfortable, mm.”
He Siming asked softly, “Do you want to bite the little peach?” He knew that when Jiang Rong lacked pheromones, everywhere felt uncomfortable.
Jiang Rong lightly bit his lower lip.
“Mm.” Any sense of shame had to be set aside now.
He Siming gave him a deep kiss first to ease his discomfort. At times like this, he couldn’t go straight in—it would hurt Jiang Rong.
He kissed down along his neck.
Jiang Rong now smelled like creamy peach. He’d been utterly obsessed with this scent lately. In fact, he felt he was becoming even more dependent on Jiang Rong’s pheromones.
Although the foreplay wasn’t long, Jiang Rong was already close to his limit, turning to actively welcome He Siming’s pheromones.
Creamy-peach-scented Jiang Rong made He Siming salivate, his mind filled with nothing but the desire to possess him.
Yet that night, Jiang Rong couldn’t get satisfied no matter what. Normally, once would be enough within an hour, but this time they continued until deep into the night without stopping.
Jiang Rong cried again and again, yet still wanted more.
“What do I do? Am I in heat?”
He Siming kissed away his tears and continued diligently replenishing his pheromones. He wasn’t dissatisfied or particularly tired—instead, he poured out the desires he’d suppressed for months like a flood.
Not until dawn did this intense pheromone-replenishing finally pause.
He Siming held Jiang Rong gently, propped up his waist, and let him fall asleep.
Jiang Rong woke up hungry around noon.
After lunch, He Siming had just finished tidying the kitchen and returned to the bedroom to change the sheets. Jiang Rong, however, had only just stood up from the dining table, when that same wave of discomfort surged back.
He walked toward He Siming, who was changing the sheets.
“He—He Siming, maybe don’t change the sheets yet. I—I want it again.”
He Siming’s face stiffened noticeably.
“Mm.”
As Jiang Rong endured it, He Siming kissed the back of his neck and asked,
“Are you sure this isn’t heat?”
Jiang Rong shook his head with tears in his eyes.
“I—I don’t know. I just know that pregnancy doesn’t involve heat.”
This need lasted two days. During those two days, they barely left the bed.
Their moving and packing progress was zero. The biggest activity was probably changing the sheets over and over as they were soaked with sweat.
At ten p.m. one night, He Siming was still diligently replenishing Jiang Rong’s pheromones.
Suddenly, Jiang Rong’s entire body trembled slightly. He grabbed He Siming’s wrist.
“He—He Siming, I think I don’t need pheromones anymore.”
He Siming, forced to interrupt the feast:
“What?”
With burning ears, Jiang Rong said,
“I—I can’t fit any more.”
He Siming: “……”
The next morning, he finally understood what Jiang Rong meant by “can’t fit any more.”
Jiang Rong was helping He Siming take clothes off hangers in the wardrobe, folding a few pieces.
Suddenly, his belly began to cramp in waves.
“He—He Siming, my—my stomach hurts so much. It feels like it’s about to hatch.”
He Siming completely panicked. When he ran over, his arms and legs moved together awkwardly. He didn’t know where to put his hands—should he support Jiang Rong or go make a call?
“Is it time to give birth?”
“Then what—what should I do?”
“Right, I’ll call my uncle. Where’s my phone? My phone?”
“Damn—my car keys, where are my car keys?!”
He was frantic, red-faced, and it was the first time he’d ever sworn in front of Jiang Rong!
In the midst of the pain, Jiang Rong found it funny and tried to comfort him.
“Y-you don’t need to panic. I—I’m still okay.”

Não acredito que preciso esperar até semana que vem para conhecer o bebe deles!!???
