Chapter 33
Yanyan’s gaze lingered at Si Jingce’s neck, his whole body wrapped in the man’s pleasant scent.
He tilted his head, gently sniffed, then rested his chin there with relief. “Brother, then what about my reward?”
Si Jingce: …
It was too sudden—he hadn’t prepared anything.
Yanyan straightened up and frowned. “Don’t tell me I don’t get a reward?”
“…What kind of reward do you want?” Si Jingce hesitated before asking. “How about taking a day off today—no homework?”
“What kind of reward is that!” Yanyan was about to throw a tantrum. “How can you brush me off like this? Think of something else!”
[Do I have to remind you?! Do I have to remind you?! Can’t you at least kiss me?!]
The boy stared at him intently. Even without hearing his thoughts, Si Jingce knew exactly what was going on in his head.
After thinking for a moment, Si Jingce pinched the back of his neck and lowered his head. A feather-light kiss landed on Yanyan’s cheek.
The warm touch bloomed softly. Before Yanyan could react, Si Jingce said, “There. Your reward.”
The little bird couldn’t hide his expression—his lips curved upward uncontrollably. He secretly glanced at Si Jingce.
Seeing the man watching him, Yanyan quickly lowered his head, coughed lightly, and pressed his lips together, pretending to be displeased. “Just that?”
“You’re still brushing me off!”
Si Jingce: “…Don’t you want this kind of reward?”
Yanyan widened his eyes. “Who said I wanted this kind of reward?”
They locked eyes.
Si Jingce said slowly, “Isn’t that exactly what you were thinking?”
He hadn’t expected the little chick in front of him to be so scheming—looping him in circles.
Yanyan awkwardly looked away. “Do you have mind-reading powers or something? You even know what I’m thinking. Brushing me off is still brushing me off—how can you use a kiss to brush me off?”
“I’ll return it to you.” Yanyan took advantage of his distraction and planted another kiss on his cheek. “I don’t want it.”
After saying that, he turned to leave.
Si Jingce quickly grabbed his wrist, his thumb brushing over the boy’s delicate skin.
“You kissed me twice, I kissed you once.” Si Jingce pulled him back into his arms. “By that calculation, you’ve taken advantage of me three times. And now you just want to leave?”
Yanyan: ?
Yanyan froze. “You can’t calculate it like that, right? Shouldn’t it cancel out once, so it’s just me taking advantage of you once?”
He counted on his fingers, convinced he was right.
“But I’ve only kissed you, and only been kissed by you.” Si Jingce said calmly, “Humans are reserved—we can’t casually kiss people. You should respect that. So including this time and before, you’ve taken quite a big advantage of me.”
Yanyan’s brain nearly short-circuited: QAQ
“Then… do I have to compensate you?” he asked.
How many times would he have to kiss him back?
Wait—if he kissed him back, wouldn’t that still count as taking advantage of brother?
Si Jingce nodded. “That’s right. You need to compensate me.”
“I haven’t figured out how yet. Just owe me for now—we’ll settle it later.”
Yanyan thought about it for a long time but couldn’t figure it out. He clearly came for a reward—how did he end up owing a pile of debt instead?
Si Jingce couldn’t help but laugh. Keeping the last bit of conscience, he didn’t make him do homework tonight.
The boy sat on the chair, grabbed a piece of paper, and continued calculating. At that moment, Si Jingce’s phone rang.
Yunduan sent a voice message.
“Bro! Wanna play? Four missing two—bring little bro Yanyan along?”
Yanyan, sitting nearby, was on the verge of tears from calculating.
By this logic, with a goodnight kiss every day plus other random kisses, he already owed Si Jingce 56 times!
Fifty-six times!!
Hearing the voice, he looked up pitifully. “If I play games with you, can it offset the debt?”
Si Jingce: “…Yes.”
…
When they connected with Yunduan, he was still livestreaming.
“Playing a few rounds of PUBG with lcberg and little bro.”
“Just for fun… after all, little bro isn’t very good at games.” Yunduan paused. “As for my bro… unless he suddenly gets mad again like last time, don’t expect him to carry.”
Seeing two more people join the team, Yunduan showed zero embarrassment about being caught talking behind his back.
“Anyway, my bro’s here.” He glanced at his streaming backend. “Huh? Bro, you’re not streaming?”
“Not today,” Si Jingce replied.
If he streamed, it would split Yunduan’s traffic.
[I knew camping in Yunduan’s stream would get me lcberg and little bro!]
[Why no stream ahhh lcberg your channel is growing weeds!]
The other teammate was Bobo Mei. She warmly greeted Yanyan, “If you don’t understand anything, just ask me.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“What are we playing today?” Yunduan asked. “Hide-and-seek or straight combat?”
“Combat,” Si Jingce said. “You lead.”
When teaming with Yunduan and Bobo Mei, he rarely used his own playstyle, instead diligently acting as support, supplying them with ammo.
Last time Yanyan could rely on tricks to win, but this time it was much harder.
“Just pick up guns, ammo, level-three helmet and armor if possible. Grab medkits, bandages, drinks,” Si Jingce instructed patiently. “And stay by my side.”
Yanyan gripped the mouse, staring at the screen, his little face tense and serious. “Mm! Got it, brother!”
To accommodate him, Yunduan marked a more remote location. When the time came, they all jumped together.
Yanyan awkwardly followed, barely landing safely.
Stick close to brother.
He remembered Si Jingce’s words—but the moment he landed, he froze.
Wh-which one is brother?
Still unable to tell the characters apart, Yanyan relied on instinct and followed a burly pale-skinned man.
“Yanyan, little bro.” The burly man spoke in Bobo Mei’s voice. “Your brother is on the other side.”
“Oh, oh, oh.” Completely disoriented, Yanyan randomly picked a direction and ran off.
After quite a while, Si Jingce finally brought him back.
“Stay close to me.” He led Yanyan into a house to loot, giving everything he found to him without hesitation.
After “feeding” the boy well, Si Jingce himself was left with only an S686 shotgun.
There weren’t many supplies here, and after searching, they didn’t find anything particularly good.
They regrouped in the middle of a building when Yunduan suddenly paused. “I think there’s someone.”
Hearing the chaotic footsteps, Yunduan quickly pinpointed their direction. “Behind the containers—about four people.”
Yanyan’s eyes were sharp. “I see them.”
Si Jingce silently raised his 3x scope and looked in that direction—he couldn’t see a single figure.
“You and Yanyan draw their fire here,” Yunduan said. “Bobo Mei and I will flank.”
Si Jingce reacted instantly, throwing a fake smoke elsewhere. As expected, the enemy’s attention was drawn.
Yunduan and Bobo Mei quickly flanked from behind, while Si Jingce pulled Yanyan back. But just as they left the house, they ran straight into the enemy.
Both sides froze—two versus four, clearly a disadvantage.
“Run.”
Before Si Jingce could even finish saying “run,” fearless as a newborn chick, Yanyan charged forward with his gun blazing, shouting loudly, “Ahhh Brother I’m scared!”
Si Jingce: ?
Bullets flew wildly, barely hitting a few people.
Retreat failed—Si Jingce was forced into combat by Yanyan’s reckless charge.
At close range, the shotgun was devastating. He quickly knocked down two enemies. Just then, Yunduan appeared from behind, and with coordinated attacks, they wiped the entire squad.
The group stayed in place to heal. Beside him, the boy kept muttering, “So scary… that was terrifying.”
Si Jingce felt like he was the one being scared to death.
“Next time, don’t rush out like that…”
Charging straight into a gunfight without a word—if the enemy hadn’t been startled by Yanyan’s chaotic yelling, they would’ve been eliminated at the start.
“Mm-hmm.”
Before Si Jingce could finish, Yanyan nodded. “Good thing Brother was here.”
“Brother is amazing! Otherwise I’d be dead…”
“…It’s fine.” Si Jingce swallowed the rest of his lecture. “As long as you’re having fun.”
The safe zone shrank, and unfortunately, it landed in N Port.
To get there, they had to cross a bridge. They grabbed a car and drove toward the zone, picking up supplies along the way, but stopped at the edge.
“Damn.” Yunduan cursed. “Someone’s camping the bridge.”
It was too late to detour to another bridge. He could even see many loot boxes on it—clearly, several squads had already been wiped here.
“Drive to the cover in the middle of the bridge,” Si Jingce said. “Let’s try to push through.”
As soon as the car drove onto the bridge, gunfire erupted from all sides.
Before the car got destroyed, Yunduan managed to reach cover and quickly called out positions: “Two behind the wrecked car ahead, one on the other side of the bridge.”
“There’s one more… hiding pretty well.”
With precise positioning and close distance, Si Jingce quickly spotted the two behind the wreck.
Yunduan threw a grenade. As the enemies peeked out, Si Jingce seized the moment and eliminated them.
Yanyan: OoO
“Wow.”
“Don’t be surprised—that’s your brother’s basic skill,” Yunduan said. “Aside from occasionally being blind and not seeing enemies, he’s pretty reliable.”
“My brother is the best!” Yanyan’s eyes sparkled.
Si Jingce: “Mm.”
[“Mm.”]
[He may not know how to play, but he’s great at emotional support]
[Forget lcberg—I’m getting carried away just listening to this]
[Baby, you’re a compliment machine]
They quickly eliminated two. Bobo Mei and Yunduan pushed forward, gunfire erupting again. Bobo Mei was unfortunately taken out, while Si Jingce, amid the chaos, finished off the player behind a tree.
“One more left,” Yunduan said.
The remaining three spread out behind cover, searching.
Yanyan scoped in and spotted a moving green figure behind a rock—but was instantly headshot.
[uren killed tiantianq with AWM]
The boy stared at the screen, stunned. “I saw him! Behind that rock!”
Yunduan immediately locked on. “He looted the airdrop—moved positions… damn, I’ve got cover here, can’t hit him. Strawberry Ice, it’s on you!”
Si Jingce: “Where?”
Yanyan: “On that slope!”
Si Jingce zoomed in with a higher scope. “Where?”
Yunduan: “Ahhh on that slope!”
Si Jingce: “Where…”
[Enough, stop bullying the blind man (crying)]
[He’s right there, I can see him clearly!]
[lcberg can’t take praise, instantly falls apart!!!]
“Southwest, 125.” Spectating Bobo Mei came to the rescue. “He’s watching Yunduan, not you.”
Si Jingce locked onto the target—finally spotting the ghillie-suited player lying in the grass.
He crept closer and fired several bursts, successfully wiping the squad.
They lost half their team just crossing the bridge.
Si Jingce looted to replenish supplies, while Yanyan excitedly hugged his arm. “We made it across! We’re going to win!”
The man glanced at the remaining player count—over thirty still alive.
“Not necessarily,” Yunduan said pessimistically. “Everyone left is in N Port, with better gear. They’ve already fought their way out—we have a low chance of winning.”
Si Jingce gave a quiet “Mm.”
He looted the ghillie suit and prepared to give the AWM to Yunduan.
“But brother is so strong…” The boy looked at him with shining eyes. “You’ll definitely carry us to victory, right?”
Just as Yunduan reached for the AWM, it disappeared from the inventory.
Si Jingce equipped the sniper rifle himself. “Mm. We’ll win.”
Yunduan: ???
“Strawberry Ice, be rational!” Yunduan shouted. “Think about your eyesight! Think about your hearing!”
“Don’t lose your mind because of a pretty face—give me back the sniper!”
