I’m Being Pestered By My Best Friend’s Little Brother! – CH16

Chapter 16

Liang Jinyi was sitting on the hospital bed, his right leg stretched out straight in front of him. It was wrapped in bandages, and the doctor was still making the plaster splint, so it hadn’t been put on yet.

Jiang Mi walked over and reminded him, “Don’t say things carelessly.”

Then he comforted him, “You only have a fracture. After resting for a while, it’ll heal.”

The doctor finished making the plaster splint according to the shape of Liang Jinyi’s right leg. He walked over with the splint and reminded Liang Jinyi that they were going to put on the plaster.

Liang Jinyi turned his head and looked at Jiang Mi with anxious eyes.

Liang Jinyi had a minor fracture in his heel bone. He had accidentally injured it that afternoon while playing soccer with a few other children on the field. It wasn’t particularly serious.

However, fixing the plaster in place would definitely hurt a little.

And after several years of getting along with him, as well as the doctor’s observations and examinations, they had reached one conclusion: Liang Jinyi’s nerve endings were relatively dense, so he was more sensitive to external stimulation than ordinary people.

Simply put, if other people felt one point of pain, Liang Jinyi would feel two points, or even three.

Seeing the nurse prepare to hold Liang Jinyi’s foot to make it easier for the doctor to put on the plaster splint, Jiang Mi pressed Liang Jinyi’s head against his chest, covered his eyes, and said, “Jinyi, bear with it a little.”

Three minutes later, the doctor fixed the plaster splint in place. Jiang Mi let go of Liang Jinyi.

Liang Jinyi’s eyes were filled with two pools of tears, and his lips had been bitten red. He looked pitiful.

Jiang Mi rubbed his head and coaxed him, “Boys should be a little braver.”

Liang Jinyi sniffled and gave a pitiful “Mm.”

The doctor was an observant doctor, and seeing this scene, he was a little surprised. After all, fixing a plaster splint actually didn’t hurt very much. It adhered the plaster around the heel bone that needed immobilizing and wouldn’t come into large-area contact with the injured part. Normally speaking, the initial examination and assessment of the injury should have caused more pain.

But this child was clearly much more uncomfortable now than he had been during the examination earlier.

After the plaster was fixed, the doctor observed him for half an hour. Seeing that no symptoms of discomfort appeared, he reminded Liang Jinyi that he could leave.

Because children were still growing, their recovery time after a fracture would be shorter than adults’. However, Liang Jinyi definitely wouldn’t be able to walk normally for the next two or three weeks. Just now, Uncle Lin had been in the ward accompanying Liang Jinyi and Jiang Mi, while Driver Wang went to a nearby mall to buy a wheelchair.

Seeing that Jiang Mi wanted him to sit in the wheelchair, Liang Jinyi hurriedly acted spoiled. His nose was still red, and there were droplets clinging to his thick eyelashes, making him look terribly pitiful. His milky little voice was a little hoarse.

“Brother, carry me.”

He stretched his hands toward Jiang Mi.

Jiang Mi lowered his head and refused. “No. You fractured your heel bone. If Brother carries you while walking, it could easily cause a second injury. Jinyi, be good and sit in the wheelchair, okay?”

Jiang Mi’s refusal was reasonable and well-founded. Liang Jinyi was also very afraid that if he didn’t take care of his injury properly, he would become a little cripple. So he could only say, full of grievance, “Okay.”

Jiang Mi picked Liang Jinyi up and placed him in the wheelchair.

Half an hour later, the group returned to the Liang house. It was also time for dinner, and the auntie had already prepared the meal. Jiang Mi accompanied Liang Jinyi through dinner again, then sent him back to his room.

Once they returned to his room, Liang Jinyi perked up. He held his little dinosaur water cup and drank from it. His plastered right leg rested on the sofa. After his bright black eyes very schemingly turned around once, he looked at Jiang Mi and said, “Brother, Uncle Lin said he asked for a week off for me, so I don’t have to… go to class tomorrow.”

After Liang Jinyi drank enough water, Jiang Mi took the green little dinosaur bottle he handed over and placed it on the coffee table. Casually, he asked, “So?”

“Then I’ll definitely fall behind… fall behind in a lot of lessons.” Liang Jinyi said this tactfully and indirectly.

Jiang Mi’s gaze circled over him, and he thought, Sure enough, he was still a little clingy spirit.

But he had to admit that sometimes, Jiang Mi really did fall for the way this child depended on him wholeheartedly.

“All right. This Wednesday, Brother will come tutor you.”

Liang Jinyi grew anxious. “Wednesday? I won’t be going to school starting tomorrow.”

Liang Jinyi very directly stated his plan. “Brother, come tutor me… tomorrow.”

Jiang Mi reached out and pinched Liang Jinyi’s cheek, neither lightly nor heavily. As Liang Jinyi grew older, the flesh on his cheeks had lessened quite a bit, but he was still a child after all. Compared to an adult’s cheeks, his were still fuller and rounder.

“Brother.” Liang Jinyi’s voice was muffled.

“You want tutoring that much?” Jiang Mi released his hand and asked.

Liang Jinyi nodded madly.

Sometimes, Jiang Mi also quite liked teasing children. He said, “Then I’ll have Uncle Lin hire you a tutor. You can be tutored for as long as you want.”
