God-Tier Get Rich System – CH157

All Universities

Chapter 157: All Universities

A bystander asked the four people on the ground, “Aside from getting a demerit, are there any other punishments?”
This was about whether players should be more careful with their words and actions at school in the future.

Another bystander, less patient, grabbed one of their wrists and tried to check the system messages on their watch. But remembering that only the watch’s owner could see its contents, he let go in annoyance.

“Talk! If you don’t tell the truth, and we run into you in a dungeon, don’t blame us for being merciless!”

The person almost wanted to cry. He was just a greedy little cannon fodder. How could he dare lie in front of so many people?

“There is, there is… the school requires me to attend a Saturday class on… Ideological and Moral Education.”

A bad premonition hit him—this “Ideological and Moral Education” dungeon would definitely be nightmare-level!

Xu Huazhang, hearing what he wanted, pulled Mu Lantu away.

No one dared to stop them. Not only was Xu Huazhang’s skill frightening, but what if Mu Lantu really was Infinite University’s “favored son”?

From that day on, many rumors spread around Infinite University about Mu Lantu. Some said he was the biological son of the university. Some said he had been given a major demerit. Some even claimed he was the mastermind behind the whole university.

Regardless of the truth, no one at school dared to provoke Mu Lantu anymore. Xu Huazhang benefited from this as well.

*

Back to the present.

Mu Lantu and Xu Huazhang toured the campus again.

They worried that once classes officially started, Infinite University might change—buildings added or removed…

But in the end, nothing had changed.

They lingered in front of the library. They didn’t go in—who knew whether it was just an ordinary library or one hiding another dungeon entrance? Better to wait until they were prepared.

At the dorm building, they passed by the dorm matron’s room. Xu Huazhang stopped.

“Baby, is the dorm manager still here?”

Mu Lantu thought about it. The cafeteria chef was gone, so the dorm manager was probably gone too.

“Let’s check.”

He knocked, but there was no response. He tried the handle—it was locked.

It seemed the only living people in Infinite University were the students.

Three newly arrived students, seeing their actions, curiously went to check themselves once the two left.

“The dorm matron’s gone too?”

*

Back in the dorm, Mu Lantu took out his pajamas to shower.

Xu Huazhang followed him in. “Together.”

Mu Lantu didn’t object but warned him: “No funny business.”

After all, it was a shared dorm. Even if they were alone for now, certain things weren’t appropriate.

Xu Huazhang sighed. What did Baby take him for?

He didn’t share the showerhead, but Mu Lantu squeezed closer on his own. “Angry? My bad.”

“Not angry.” Xu Huazhang flicked water at his face. “Just keep your distance—don’t test my self-control.”

Mu Lantu immediately scurried off.

*

After bathing, they lay on the bed—not necessarily to sleep, just to rest.

With the AC on, Mu Lantu lounged comfortably, leg crossed, though a bit bored without a phone, computer, or TV.

“Huazhang.”

“Mm?” Xu Huazhang closed his book. “Bored already?”

Mu Lantu sighed. “I’m not used to being without a phone.”

Xu Huazhang paused. “When I have money, I’ll buy you one.”

In their previous world, they only got smartphones when they were much older. Now, finally back in a high-tech society, they had barely enjoyed it before being thrown into Infinite University.

Xu Huazhang, once a man from ancient times, had no problem without one. But for Mu Lantu, it felt cruel. Xu Huazhang’s heart ached, but he couldn’t afford one yet.

Thinking about how he had boasted “I’m not short on money” earlier, Xu Huazhang felt his face sting.

Mu Lantu thought the same, burst out laughing, and teasingly rubbed his face. “Forget it. Who knows if phones even connect to the net here? If not, it’s pointless anyway.”

Xu Huazhang kissed his hand. “The school must have entertainment facilities for students. Either we haven’t found them yet, or we don’t have access. Otherwise, players would collapse under constant dungeon pressure. A shrinking player base outside dungeons isn’t what Infinite University wants.”

“Maybe.”

Mu Lantu wasn’t eager to explore just yet.

“What are you reading?”

“Want me to read aloud?” Xu Huazhang asked gently.

Mu Lantu flipped onto his back. “I’m ready.”

Xu Huazhang began in his deep, steady voice:
“When I was six, I saw a marvelous picture in a book about the primeval forest called True Stories from Nature. It showed a boa constrictor swallowing a wild beast whole…”

It was The Little Prince.

Mu Lantu thought gloomily that he ought to be listening while lying in Xu Huazhang’s arms—but damn this multi-person dorm assignment.

Just as two chapters finished—click—the door opened.

Xu Huazhang stopped reading.

Mu Lantu silently nicknamed the intruder Annoying Pest before turning around.

“You’re both here.” Song Bochao smiled wearily at them, set down his takeout, and sat heavily.

Mu Lantu sat up. “Classmate Song, you doing okay?”

“Still alive,” Song Bochao forced a smile. “But mentally exhausted.”

“What was the fourth class’s dungeon?” Mu Lantu asked, then quickly added, “I’ll pay for the info.”

“No need. It’s not really intel—you could ask anyone.” Song Bochao went to wash up.

When he returned, he noticed the two had come down from their beds, which warmed him. They were indeed considerate people.

Mu Lantu cut up watermelon, banana, mango, and peach into three bowls, giving Song Bochao one.

Fruit was a luxury from the watch’s shop. Song Bochao could afford it, but it would hurt. Their generosity only proved their strength. In Infinite University, wealth equaled strength.

After thanking them, Song Bochao sat, face complicated.

“My group of four entered an ancient setting… as animals. We were thrown into a royal hunting ground, hunted by the emperor and his ministers. There were maybe four or five hundred animals—likely all players transformed.”

Mu Lantu’s eyes filled with sympathy. To be trapped in an animal’s body while still human… it had to be miserable. Thankfully, he and Huazhang avoided that class.

“Our task was to escape. But it was nearly impossible—the hunting grounds were sealed, and there were too many hunters. Surviving this time was sheer luck.”

“Luck is part of strength too,” Mu Lantu comforted. “Eat first, then I’ll ask more later.”

Song Bochao nodded. “You want to ask about the dorms, right? I checked around at the cafeteria. Everyone else lives in twenty-person dorms. My guess is we’re all level 0 now—once we level up, our dorms might upgrade too.”

“That’s possible,” Mu Lantu admitted, though disappointed. “But who knows when that’ll be.”

Xu Huazhang transferred Song Bochao 100 gold, as agreed.

Song Bochao returned 90. “If I ever find a way to change dorms, I’ll gladly take full payment. But since I didn’t, consider this 10 gold my finder’s fee.”

Mu Lantu nodded approval. Song Bochao was pleased.

*

They returned to rest. Song Bochao ate, showered, and lay down.

One by one, other roommates returned.

In a normal university, the dorm would now be lively with chatter, games, phones, and music.

But here, no one had the heart to talk. Everyone quietly washed and went to bed.

At 1:40, they got up again, hurrying to the teaching building.

The dorms weren’t near the classrooms. Mu Lantu thought a vehicle would make life easier. Slowly, slowly.

“School isn’t easy,” he sighed.

The fifth class was Geochemistry, 14:20–15:05, in Room 214 of the Earth Science and Engineering Building.

It was a small classroom, with many unfamiliar faces replacing the familiar ones.

Students eyed each other warily.

Zhao Yuanzhou approached Mu Lantu’s group. “Many from our class failed their missions. The survivors have been regrouped with other classes to form a new Class 2. I asked them—they’re freshmen from Haicheng University.”

Everyone was stunned. So it wasn’t just Dongkai University freshmen pulled into Infinite University—Haicheng University too, maybe even others!

Had Infinite University swept up all freshmen everywhere? Its power was terrifying.

Xu Huazhang’s gaze darkened. If classes were being reorganized, dorms likely would be too.

Leveling up had to become their priority.

He squeezed Mu Lantu’s hand as they sat in the back row.

Their original Class 2 clustered together, while the newcomers grouped separately—the division stark.
