Chapter 355: Extra (17)
Without much hesitation, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi accepted Sainos’s invitation.
Moreover, they did not take the main store with them; instead, they left it at the Roland border and even expanded the range of the protective barrier.
At the same time, Tang Yu’an installed an automatic vending machine there.
Through the vending machine, the border soldiers could not only purchase daily supplies but also buy night-stay cards to gain permission to enter the protective barrier at night.
After personally experiencing it, Sainos’s eyes lit up.
He wanted to purchase an automatic vending machine himself, but unfortunately, Tang Yu’an no longer had any in stock—the only way to obtain one now was through a lottery.
Although the deity had already granted Tang Yu’an the Doomsday General Store system, Tang Yu’an could not directly access the system’s warehouse.
Every time he tried, the system would crash. Eventually, he stopped forcing it.
After all, whatever he needed, he could generally obtain through the lottery.
Hearing Tang Yu’an’s explanation, Sainos felt some regret but also understanding—and he gained a clearer sense of the power of the God of Commerce.
Thus, they next took cars back to the Roland Imperial City.
The little fairy and the remaining Siasar citizens accompanied them. Once registered in the imperial city, Roland would arrange new residences for them.
Truthfully, riding in cars in a magical world—especially these techy, hovering cars—was a novel and slightly surreal experience.
“Sainos, have you ever been to outer space?”
After a while of chatting, they had grown more familiar with each other, speaking casually, like ordinary friends.
“Outer space?” Sainos shook his head.
He gazed out the window and said, “Axin Star is surrounded by a special magnetic field. Ships can only enter or exit through a safe passage.”
That passage had been opened years ago. Since Roland’s territory had continuously shrunk, the passage’s entrances and exits were no longer within Roland’s borders.
Thus, landing or leaving by ship was very difficult, and Sainos had never had the chance to visit outer space.
“However, things are different now,” he smiled.
“The passage isn’t far from the Siasar Forest. Soon, we’ll be able to bring it back under our territory. Once the flying interstellar beasts in the skies are cleared, we’ll have a safe airspace, making travel to other stars much easier.”
Hearing Sainos talk about these future possibilities, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi couldn’t help but feel excited.
They had never been to outer space!
Hearing him describe the marvels of alien technology, Tang Yu’an said, “Magic is incredibly powerful too!”
“With a teleportation array, even if two points are thousands of miles apart, you can travel instantly!”
Sainos gave a wry smile. “Yes… but many magical arts in Roland have been lost for years. Countless rare techniques perished because of the interstellar beasts…”
Seeing Sainos’s sadness, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi exchanged a glance.
Then Tang Yu’an looked down at the little fairy sleeping in his pocket.
He reached in, poked the fairy awake, and used his spiritual energy to secretly ask for its opinion.
The little fairy nodded nonchalantly and then curled back up to sleep.
Tang Yu’an then turned to Sainos and said, “Although many arts may have been lost, the teleportation arrays haven’t.”
Sainos was startled. “You mean…”
He glanced at the little fairy sleeping soundly in Tang Yu’an’s pocket.
He had long noticed this legendary little being—could it be…?
But Tang Yu’an gave him an even greater surprise.
“Have you heard of the Siasar engravers?”
Sainos nodded and immediately realized what he meant. He hurriedly asked, “You mean among these Siasar survivors, there are engravers?”
Tang Yu’an shook his head and smiled. “Not just some of them—they’re all engravers.”
He paused and added, “Except for those who are very young.”
Even so, this information was enough to make Sainos breathe rapidly.
“So the teleportation arrays you just mentioned…”
“Yes, this is the technology they’ve mastered,” Tang Yu’an said, while also informing Sainos about the Siasar survivors’ desire to build a teleportation array connecting to the dungeon.
“No problem, I can authorize it!”
Excitement could hardly be contained on Sainos’s face. If the teleportation array could truly be re-established in Roland, the potential power it could wield was unimaginable!
Seeing how eager Sainos was to immediately go talk to Iso and the others, Tang Yu’an couldn’t help but smile.
This way, the Siasar survivors would receive proper attention in Roland, and their treatment would undoubtedly improve.
And once they returned to inform Tours, he could also feel secure staying in his homeland.
They rode in the hovering car toward the imperial city, enjoying the scenery of Roland along the way.
The areas near the border were still desolate; Roland was in the midst of reconstruction.
As they moved deeper inland, signs of life gradually appeared, and the closer they got to the imperial city, the more prosperous it became.
Since most of Roland’s high-tech products came from extraterrestrial sources, and their total quantity was limited, the roads still featured old-fashioned transport like horse-drawn carriages and ox carts alongside hovering cars.
Magic was applied more widely, and the combination of old and new—magic and technology—left Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi awestruck.
Upon reaching the Roland Imperial City, a strong thought stirred in Tang Yu’an’s mind.
“Sainos, we want to visit the Magic Academy,” he couldn’t help but say.
“Sure. Once we’ve met my father, I’ll take you there,” Sainos replied readily.
Tang Yu’an shook his head.
“We don’t just want to visit; we want to study at the Magic Academy. May I ask what the admission standards are? What conditions must be met?”
Sainos’s expression grew slightly troubled.
“I can’t decide that myself; I need to consult the headmaster.”
Tang Yu’an nodded. “That’s fine, we can wait.”
Sainos breathed a sigh of relief and promised, “I’ll do my best to help you get in.”
Although they had arrived at the imperial city, Sainos didn’t immediately enter the palace. He first arranged residences for the Siasar survivors.
There were over a hundred people, so organizing everything took some time. Sainos personally oversaw the process and actively asked them about their experiences in the dungeon over the years.
Iso and the others, initially anxious, gradually felt reassured by his kind words and began learning to integrate into life in Roland.
Seeing that there was still much to be done, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi declined the accommodations Sainos had prepared for them. They temporarily said goodbye and began exploring the Roland Imperial City.
The city was bustling and festive, decorated everywhere in preparation for the upcoming grand celebration.
Finally, they settled in at an inn near the Royal Music Garden.
They had heard that those living near the Royal Music Garden were renowned sound-magic practitioners in Roland, forming an orchestra and rehearsing every day.
Sound magic produced special effects, with each piece having a unique effect.
Tang Yu’an leaned against the window, captivated.
He wasn’t someone who usually appreciated music, but the orchestra’s performance seemed to carry a kind of magic—listening to it filled him with joy, stirring all positive emotions.
“This music is incredible!” Tang Yu’an exclaimed enthusiastically.
Zhou Qi, sitting beside him, nodded in agreement.
After a while, Tang Yu’an shifted his gaze toward Zhou Qi.
Sensing this, Zhou Qi looked up and met Tang Yu’an’s sparkling eyes. As their eyes locked, Tang Yu’an moved closer and then…
Sat on his lap face-to-face.
Zhou Qi swallowed nervously. “An-an?”
“I want to kiss you.”
Before Zhou Qi could respond, Tang Yu’an leaned down and kissed him.
Zhou Qi didn’t resist; instead, he placed his hands on Tang Yu’an’s neck, deepening the kiss.
When they finally parted, panting, Tang Yu’an leaned on Zhou Qi’s shoulder and whispered softly into his ear, “We haven’t done this in so long…”
A blush spread across Zhou Qi’s face. He stammered, “But…it’s daytime?”
“What does it matter…”
During their time in the Dream Sea, they had so little to do that they had spent almost every moment together, practicing all of their “study materials.”
Tang Yu’an looked at Zhou Qi with longing in his eyes.
And Zhou Qi… couldn’t refuse.
