Doomsday Grocery Store – CH347

Chapter 347: Extra (9)

After a long journey adrift, Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi finally crossed the Dream Sea and arrived in Turs’s dream. Looking out from their drifting bottle, they could see a small island.

The deep blue sea carried the bottle to the shore, where a large hand picked it up.

At the same time, a system notification popped up in front of Tang Yu’an.

[“Peace Grocery Store” has reached the designated dream. You may now exit Drift Bottle Mode and switch to another form]

[1. Maintain current mode]
[2. Switch to Store Mode]
[3. Switch to RV Mode]

Tang Yu’an didn’t hesitate and chose RV Mode directly.

Since Turs was underground, the RV could be minimized, and the room should still be able to accommodate it.

A white light flared from the drift bottle.

When the light faded, they found themselves in an unfamiliar room.

Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi exchanged glances. Just as they were about to get off the RV and check the surroundings, a small winged person flew to the window.

The little figure, about the size of an adult’s palm, looked very much like a furniture sprite, but with long arms and legs—closer to a teenager than a child like Bobo and the others.

Still, he was just as miniature.

He pressed against the window and peered inside, but since the window was one-way glass, he couldn’t actually see anything.

“So cute!” Tang Yu’an couldn’t help leaning closer, slowly lowering the window.

The little round biscuit-like sprite, startled by the moving glass, flew backward and hid behind the sleepily approaching Turs.

Turs had been awakened by the light from the bottle.

He stared in disbelief at the RV that had suddenly appeared. But he showed no fear or wariness, because—

“Xiao An, Xiao Qi, it’s you!”

Turs was overjoyed.

Thanks to their earlier communication via brain-link, he remembered the boys’ faces. Even though so many years had passed, they, like the little sprite, hadn’t aged.

Seeing Tang Yu’an step out of the RV, Turs couldn’t help getting emotional.

“How did you end up here?” He looked at the RV. “Is this something from an alien civilization?”

The Roland Empire had long discovered alien civilizations, different from Aixue Star. They wielded technological power.

But all of that was before the Great Cataclysm.

Turs had only been a boy then, lucky enough to see some footage, but never in contact with the technology.

“This is a tech-side RV,” Tang Yu’an explained. “It’s thanks to this RV that we were able to meet you!”

Looking at Turs’s aged face, he couldn’t help asking, “Has that much time passed in Roland already?”

Turs was about to nod but suddenly frowned slightly.

“You’re… not from Xisa Star?”

He had always assumed the boys retained their youth because, like the little sprite, they were long-lived species.

But now, it seemed he’d guessed wrong.

As for why he could communicate with them so smoothly—it was because over the years, he had taught himself Chinese!

Tang Yu’an grinned and said, “Allow me to formally introduce us: We’re from another dimension. I’m Tang Yu’an, and this is my partner—Zhou Qi.”

Turs blinked in surprise.

He glanced between the two, hesitated a bit, and repeated the word “partner” in Rolandese.

“Yes, just like you’re thinking!”

Tang Yu’an took Zhou Qi’s hand and declared it proudly.

Zhou Qi’s ears turned red, but he didn’t pull away—he even nodded politely at Turs.

“I see…”

At that moment, the little sprite flew between them and happily greeted, “I’m Little Biscuit! I’m Turs’s partner too!”

Tang Yu’an looked at him, then down at the palm-sized sprite, eyes wide with surprise.

Turs: “…”

He sighed and corrected gently, “Little Biscuit, we’re companions. That word isn’t for casual use.”

Little Biscuit crossed his arms and protested, “But Li Na said ‘partner’ means someone you spend your whole life with! You’re the human I want to spend my life with!”

Turs looked at him, and thinking back on their previous conversation, his heart grew heavy with sorrow.

He didn’t correct the little sprite again. Instead, he turned to Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi and solemnly said, “Welcome to Roland, my friends.”

If it weren’t for the resources they’d provided, the children of Xiasa wouldn’t have survived. Even Jackson and Li Na might not have held on this long—let alone built this underground city.

Everything they had now was thanks to these two boys.

Turs didn’t know how to express his gratitude. But Tang Yu’an had already stepped forward, grinning brightly.

“Teacher, we finally meet!”

Zhou Qi added, “Teacher Turs, thank you for your teachings. Inscriptions are really fascinating—and super useful. They’ve helped us solve a lot of problems.”

Hearing them call themselves his students, Turs was deeply moved.

He repeatedly said “Good, good, good,” before being dragged aside by Zhou Qi to ask questions.

Face-to-face communication like this was precious, and Zhou Qi didn’t want to waste time. It also helped eliminate any lingering awkwardness.

While they chatted, Tang Yu’an sneakily passed some snacks to Little Biscuit.

“These are gifts I brought for you.”

They had only seen Turs during their brain-link exchanges, never the little sprite—so this was Tang Yu’an’s first time discovering Little Biscuit was a fairy.

Naturally, the snacks he brought were a bit oversized.

But Little Biscuit didn’t mind. He flapped his wings, did a quick spin around Tang Yu’an, then sulkily flew back to perch on Turs’s shoulder.

While explaining things to Zhou Qi, Turs kept one eye on the others. Noticing Little Biscuit looking gloomy, he asked what was wrong.

Tang Yu’an was puzzled too.

The little sprite hugged a piece of marshmallow, took a bite, and mumbled, “I was going to play a prank on him…”

Tang Yu’an blinked, and Turs explained, “Fairies only play pranks on those they like. The prank grants the target temporary good luck.”

“Little Biscuit wants to prank you because he likes you.”

Zhou Qi looked up at that.

Then the sprite added gloomily, “But he’s already got tons of luck, way more than me. If I prank him, it might backfire!”

Then he turned to Zhou Qi, “Maybe I should prank you instead?”

Zhou Qi instinctively gripped the lucky bead hanging on his chest.

He knew it—no matter how much you multiply a cursed man’s luck, he’s still cursed. 🙂
