Chapter 311
[Jump completed to an unlocked map area. Welcome to use again.]
This line of text slowly appeared on the console screen.
So the random jumps go to either unlocked or locked regions? Could it be that at higher levels, they’ll unlock a function to choose a specific jump destination?
Tang Yu’an pondered this and glanced at Zhou Qi.
Seeing Zhou Qi’s less-than-cheerful expression, Tang Yu’an paused and quickly said, “Hey, at least we didn’t jump into a dangerous place—that’s something!”
Zhou Qi forced a smile, then took a deep breath and quickly calmed himself.
“Yeah, you give it a try.”
An’an was right—without the Lucky Marble buff, they might have jumped onto a cliff or something.
Anyway, he was already used to this kind of thing. 😕
Seeing Zhou Qi’s mood recover, Tang Yu’an finally relaxed and reached out to press the button.
Once again, the RV was engulfed in a void.
[Random location generated. Jump successful!]
[Jump completed to an unlocked map area. Welcome to use again.]
Looking out at the mutated cacti and yellow sand, Tang Yu’an knew they hadn’t gone far.
Sure enough, checking the map showed that the new location was only a few hundred meters from where they had jumped the first time.
Tang Yu’an immediately said, “Brother Qi, I think this jump feature is just a scam to burn points—you can’t go far at all.”
Zhou Qi, surprised as well, nodded in agreement.
“Try again.”
Since they had already loaded points, they might as well use them up.
“Alright!”
Tang Yu’an breathed on his palms and pressed the button again. This time, the jump took a bit longer.
[Jump completed to an unlocked map area. Welcome to use again.]
Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi looked out the window. This time, they were a little closer to Flame Dragon Fortress.
But their actual target was Qingmu Fortress—so this was actually further away.
“I knew this feature was just to scam points!”
Tang Yu’an grumbled and pressed the jump button again.
He figured he’d just use up the jump points, and then go to the alternate dimension the hard way, trekking all the way to Shanna’s residence.
As for where the space rift was…
They had the map. As long as they kept unlocking the fog of war, they’d see the customer marker lights, and wherever the green dots were clustered, that was likely the space rift that led to Qingmu Fortress.
While Tang Yu’an was thinking about this, he suddenly realized—the jump still hadn’t ended.
Just as he was about to ask Zhou Qi how much time had passed, a message popped up on the console:
[This jump requires 1,000,000 points. Insufficient balance. Recharge now?]
What?!
Wasn’t it supposed to be 2,000 points per jump? Why the sudden price hike?
Tang Yu’an’s eyes widened. Though annoyed, he still asked Zhou Qi, “Brother Qi, should we pay?”
Zhou Qi thought for a moment and nodded.
“Even though it’s a lot of points, maybe it’ll be worth it?”
Of course, the main reason was that a million points wouldn’t hurt them financially, so it was worth testing. And even if they landed in a dangerous place, the RV had a protective barrier, so it wasn’t a big risk.
After hearing Zhou Qi’s analysis, Tang Yu’an looked back at the console, gritted his teeth, and chose to recharge.
[Points deducted successfully! Jump in progress…]
[Jump successful!]
[Jump completed to an unlocked map area. Welcome to use again.]
Tang Yu’an and Zhou Qi looked at the outside scenery and were stunned, because…
Their RV was perched on a giant tree branch, supported by a few massive leaves.
“This is…”
They both looked at the map, then blurted out: “Alternate dimension!”
The two exchanged a shocked glance, then opened the RV door and stepped outside. Looking at the giant-sized world around them, they were stunned all over again.
“This jump feature can actually cross dimensions?” Tang Yu’an blurted. “That’s insane!”
Of course, compared to the teleportation arrays, this jump feature cost way more points.
Previously, the dimensional locator stones they bought during a flash sale were only 200,000–300,000 points, but this cross-dimensional jump cost a full million.
Hearing Tang Yu’an complain, Zhou Qi’s mouth twitched slightly.
Those locator stones weren’t exactly easy to come by. Even with Tang Yu’an’s crazy good luck, they had only ever gotten two—one from the flash sale, and one from the lucky spin wheel.
He suspected the system only had two in stock—one per method—and Tang Yu’an had already claimed them both.
So this new jump pricing might actually be the normal rate.
“So does this mean we can use the jump function to travel to other dimensions too?” Tang Yu’an asked hopefully.
“Probably not,” Zhou Qi shook his head. “Our RV was only able to jump to this alternate dimension because we’d already unlocked its map.”
Based on a literal interpretation, the jump function randomly selects a spot from the map. If the map hasn’t even been unlocked, how can it choose a destination?
Plus, dimensional jumps probably weren’t that common either.
Zhou Qi looked at Tang Yu’an, once again reminded of how unbelievably lucky he was.
After hearing that, Tang Yu’an couldn’t help but say:
“Then does that mean we might be able to use this feature to jump back to our original world?”
Just the thought of it made him a little excited.
It was Zhou Qi who stopped him.
“We already have a dimensional locator stone, and Uncle Tang is leveling up quickly. Once he sets up a teleportation array, we’ll be able to return that way.”
Using the RV’s jump function had too much randomness.
If they didn’t have the locator stone, they might’ve considered using this method. But now, there was no need.
After all, they would get back eventually—it was only a matter of time.
Hearing this, Tang Yu’an gave up the idea of returning to their original world via the jump function, and he couldn’t help feeling relieved.
“Good thing we connected the teleportation array in the alternate-dimension cabin to the one in the swimming center,” he said. “If it had been linked to the main shop, we wouldn’t be able to return now.”
Of course, even if they couldn’t return, it would only be temporary. They could always head to the Fire Dragon Tribe’s territory and go back through the space rift—but that would be a lot more trouble.
“Mm, let’s check where we are first.”
The two of them examined the map closely.
Since they had landed in an unexplored area, everything within a kilometer of the RV was still shrouded in fog.
But judging from their surroundings, they weren’t far from where they had previously encountered Shan Feng.
“Eh? Did Shanna go back?”
Looking at the map, they saw that Bol and Shanna’s light markers had moved from their home and now extended southward in a thin line.
They had stopped at the end of that line and weren’t moving anymore.
“That must be where Shanna lives,” Tang Yu’an said. “And the space rift to Qingmu Fortress is probably there too, right?”
“Most likely,” Zhou Qi nodded.
“Then let’s head there!” Tang Yu’an said. “We’ll drive the RV.”
Zhou Qi looked at the massive tree beneath them. They were at least 30 to 40 meters above the ground.
“Let’s figure out how to get the RV down first,” he said.
“Oh, that’s easy!”
Tang Yu’an flew into the air, pulled out the Thousand Faces Cloak from his personal inventory, and draped it over himself. Then he shouted loudly:
“I am Shan Feng, and Shan Feng is me!”
As he shouted, his body rapidly expanded.
A giant appeared.
He wore a black cloak, and apart from the expression on his face, he looked exactly like the giant Shan Feng.
Once transformed, Tang Yu’an instantly felt his connection to wind-elemental energy weaken.
His body began to fall rapidly, but from this height, the ten-plus meters were nothing. He landed on his feet, bent his knees slightly to absorb the impact, and stood steadily.
Then he looked at Zhou Qi with delight and said, “Brother Qi, look! I really turned into a giant!”
Zhou Qi stared at him, dumbfounded, before finally nodding stiffly.
“Brother Qi, you look so tiny now!” Tang Yu’an said, peering down at him. “Like a toy! No—like a furniture elf?”
And as for the RV—it now looked like a toy car in comparison.
Zhou Qi looked a little helpless.
Tang Yu’an had already climbed the tree, carefully lifted the RV off the branch, and let Zhou Qi fly onto his hand.
“Brother Qi, you look so cute like this!”
Tang Yu’an extended a finger and gently nudged Zhou Qi. With such a size difference, Zhou Qi looked even tinier.
“So cute!”
Zhou Qi could only sigh.
Though Tang Yu’an’s voice hadn’t changed, it was coming from Shan Feng’s face, which made everything feel incredibly off.
“Let’s go,” Zhou Qi said. “Time to move out.”
The Thousand Faces Cloak could only last an hour, so they couldn’t waste it.
Though he couldn’t fly in this form, a giant’s height and stamina meant faster travel than if they flew in their small bodies.
“Oh! Okay!”
Tang Yu’an nodded, gently tucked the RV into his pocket, and let Zhou Qi jump in as well. Then, following the map, he headed toward Shanna’s location.
He ran swiftly through the forest, where everything felt proportionally normal again, and he experienced no discomfort at all.
An hour later, just before the Thousand Faces Cloak’s effect wore off, Zhou Qi reminded him to stop. Tang Yu’an pulled the RV out of his pocket.
As soon as he placed it on the ground, his towering figure began to shrink.
In no time, he had reverted to his original size.
“Sigh, being a giant is way more convenient,” Tang Yu’an muttered.
Zhou Qi, however, let out a sigh of relief.
He reached out and patted the top of Tang Yu’an’s head, feeling like his familiar companion had finally returned.
“Let’s keep moving,” he said.
“But the RV can’t travel easily here,” Tang Yu’an replied. “Should we just leave it?”
Zhou Qi shook his head.
“I just thought of a solution,” he said.
“What is it?”
“Well, since you can carry the RV in your pocket, couldn’t we just mount it on a flying machine and fly with it?”
“Whoa! Brother Qi, you’re a genius!”
Indeed—while the RV couldn’t fly on its own, they could carry it with a flying device!
Large flying vehicles were expensive, sure, but for them, points weren’t an issue anymore.
Plus, with the RV’s protective shield, the flying machine would be protected too. That meant they could fly through the giant forest without fear of being attacked!
