Daily Life of Being Turned Gay by the Male Lead After Transmigrating into an Apocalypse – CH140

What Are You Thinking About?

Chapter 140: What Are You Thinking About?

Feeling satisfied with his work, Chu Yang clapped his hands to dust them off and headed back upstairs.

Wang Li was already busy in the kitchen, while little Niu Niu sat obediently on a low wooden stool nearby, playing quietly with a cloth ragdoll.

“Sister Wang, I’ve stocked the basement with everything,” Chu Yang called out. “If you need any ingredients, just grab them down there.”

Wang Li paused her rhythmic chopping of potatoes, looking up with a warm smile. “Got it. Little Chu, go take care of your own things. I’ll let everyone know when dinner is ready.”

Spotting Chu Yang, Niu Niu immediately slipped down from her stool. Pattering across the tile on her short little legs, she threw her arms around his knees, calling out in a sweet, childish voice, “Brother Chu!”

Chu Yang bent down and scooped her up, supporting her with one arm as he bounced her playfully. “Well, look at that—has our little Niu Niu gained some weight again? Look at these chubby cheeks! Have you grown taller too? You feel a bit bigger than the last time I carried you.” He gently pinched her cheek, making the little girl burst into giggles.

Wang Li poured a splash of cooking oil into the heated pan, glancing back over her shoulder with a fond smile. “You’re not wrong. Her appetite has shot up over the past few days. She finishes nearly half a bowl of rice every meal. Her face is finally filling out, and she has some healthy color back in her skin.”

Chu Yang played with the child for a few more minutes before setting her gently back onto her stool. Seeing the ground-floor living room empty, he figured the others were still upstairs organizing their respective rooms.

With his own luxurious penthouse on his mind, he said goodbye to Wang Li and stepped outside, heading toward the smaller villa next door.

Taking the spiral staircase two steps at a time, he pushed open the double doors of the top-floor master suite. The moment he crossed the threshold, he found Jiang Jue stepping out of the adjoining bathroom, clad only in a white bath towel.

Wet black hair dripped steadily over Jiang Jue’s forehead, clear water droplets trailing down his broad, sculpted chest and tracing the defined contours of his pectorals before disappearing beneath the towel at his waist.

The towel was tied loosely around his hips, leaving a lean, chiseled waist and sharp abdominal lines fully exposed.

Chu Yang froze in his tracks, his throat suddenly feeling parched.

He quickly looked away, but his eyes involuntarily darted back for a fleeting glance—Jiang Jue’s shoulders were broad, the musculature of his arms smooth and powerful without being bulky, and his six-pack was sharply defined, tapering downward into the towel…

“Brother Jiang, you took a shower? Where did the water come from?” Chu Yang forced himself to speak, though his voice came out tight and slightly strained.

Even though this villa was exceptionally well-built, it was still the apocalypse; under normal circumstances, municipal water and power should have been cut off long ago.

Jiang Jue walked over to the lounge sofa and sat down, picking up a dry towel draped over the armrest. He began rubbing his hair with slow, measured strokes, droplets running down the sharp line of his jaw. “Lin Xiao and I just checked the building systems. There’s a backup underground reservoir beneath the property. Li Yu and Jiang Lin have already filled it with plenty of clean water, so we’ll have more than enough for daily use for a good while.”

Chu Yang’s eyes lit up. “Really? That makes things so much easier!”

His eyes drifted back to Jiang Jue’s movements—the dark hair shifting beneath the towel, stray droplets splashing against his collarbone and sliding down the grooves of his chest.

Chu Yang’s Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily. Averting his gaze in a hurry, he blurted out, “Then I’m going to grab a shower too, Brother Jiang!”

With that, he practically bolted into the bathroom.

The instant the door clicked shut, Chu Yang leaned back against the wood, drawing a long, shuddering breath.

What is wrong with me?

Isn’t Brother Jiang just another guy?

Did that whole confession between Old Lin and Little Bai earlier mess with my head?

Why did I just think… Brother Jiang looks so attractive?

Shaking his head vigorously, he lightly slapped his own cheeks, muttering under his breath, “Brother Jiang is a guy, he’s your sworn brother, he’s your squad leader… What on earth are you thinking, Chu Yang?”

Getting a grip on himself, Chu Yang looked around the spacious bathroom.

It was no exaggeration to say the room was larger than the entire studio apartment he had rented before the world ended. The massive circular whirlpool tub could easily accommodate two or three people, complete with separate dry and wet zones and a full wall of polished mirrors.

Stepping toward the edge of the tub, he was surprised to find it already filled with clean, warm water.

“Brother Jiang really thinks of everything…” he murmured fondly, stripping off his clothes and stepping inside.

The tub was nearly two meters across. Sinking deep into the warm water, the soothing heat wrapped around him, melting away the accumulated fatigue of weeks on the road. His muscles completely unwound. Letting out a contented sigh, he rested his head against the porcelain rim and closed his eyes. “Now this is real luxury…”

Outside, the weather was sweltering, but the bathroom remained refreshingly cool, quickly lulling him into a state of drowsy comfort.

As he soaked, his eyelids grew heavy. He had nearly drifted off into a deep sleep when a muffled knock sounded at the door.

“Yangyang, dinner is ready.” Jiang Jue’s low, resonant voice filtered through the door, instantly pulling him out of his haze.

Chu Yang snapped his eyes open. Glancing out the frosted window, he saw that the sky had darkened completely, leaving only a faint streak of twilight on the distant horizon.

“Shoot, how long was I out…?” Calling back a quick “Coming!”, he stood up so fast he nearly slipped, catching the rim just in time. He dried himself off, wrapped a soft bathrobe around his frame, and stepped out into the bedroom.

Jiang Jue naturally walked over, holding a clean, dry towel. “Your hair is still dripping.”

Without giving him a chance to protest, Jiang Jue gently guided Chu Yang down onto the sofa and began patting his damp hair dry with careful, steady hands.

Chu Yang narrowed his eyes in pure contentment, relaxing like a pampered cat, a small, involuntary smile curving his lips.

Once his hair was damp rather than dripping, Chu Yang looked up, using his hand to fan his face. “Brother Jiang, this room is perfect in every way, but without air conditioning, it’s still baking hot.”

Jiang Jue set the towel aside and took a seat beside him on the sofa.

Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder, Chu Yang caught the clean, crisp scent of soap lingering on Jiang Jue’s skin. “Lin Xiao and I looked over the breaker box. The villa is wired for central climate control; it just lacks a power source. I’ll pull a couple of heavy-duty fuel generators from the space later. They’ll produce enough output to run the air conditioning and household appliances without issue.”

Chu Yang’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Really? That’s awesome! I’ll pull the generators out right now!”

He started to get up, but Jiang Jue placed a firm hand on his shoulder, keeping him seated. “No rush. Eat first. We’ll handle the power after dinner.”

Chu Yang nodded in agreement, only then realizing that Jiang Jue had changed into a simple black T-shirt and dark casual trousers. The cut accentuated his broad shoulders and narrow waist, showing off his excellent proportions.

Standing up, Chu Yang glanced toward the walk-in closet with curiosity.

Pushing the double doors open, he was genuinely stunned by the scale of the space—it was larger than an average master bedroom. Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes lined both walls, leaving a wide aisle down the middle that led to a pristine full-length mirror reflecting the entire room.

Opening the cabinet doors revealed hanging rods, built-in organizers, and deep pull-out drawers, all intact but coated in a fine layer of dust, waiting to be used.

Before retrieving clothes from his spatial dimension, Chu Yang grabbed a damp cloth and carefully wiped down the interior shelves.

He organized everything with meticulous care—Jiang Jue’s clothes on the left, his own on the right.

He pulled out seasonal clothing for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, hanging each piece neatly on the rails.

Most of Jiang Jue’s wardrobe consisted of dark, understated tones with clean, functional cuts. Chu Yang’s selection was far more colorful, featuring bright hoodies, printed T-shirts, denim jackets, and comfortable athletic sets.

Jiang Jue stepped in to help, methodically folding the trousers Chu Yang handed him and stacking them neatly in the lower compartments. He offered quiet suggestions along the way: “Hang the heavy winter coats further back, and keep daily essentials near the front so they’re easy to reach.”

Chu Yang nodded along.

Watching the spacious closet fill up piece by piece, with their clothes hanging shoulder-to-shoulder along the racks, a deep, quiet warmth settled into Jiang Jue’s chest.

This closet, this bedroom—from this day forward, this was truly their home.
