Chapter 88: Wedding Part 2 – Extra
Shen Shuyi, coaxed and tricked, stayed in the garage for a full three hours.
Zhao Yuheng opened the passenger window a crack, giving Shen Shuyi something to hold onto. His slender, pale fingers reached out and gripped the thin window, sometimes squeezing, sometimes releasing.
Shen Shuyi had a slim waist and thin abdominal muscles; after sitting for a while, he felt so full he almost rolled his eyes.
Outside the garage, it wasn’t raining heavily, and the doors hadn’t closed. Through the windshield, Shen Shuyi’s back was beautifully curved and fair. Soon, he gave up, collapsing limply onto Zhao Yuheng.
“Only a few strokes, and you’re already done?” Zhao Yuheng held his waist, urging him to sit up again.
“It’s so sore…” Shen Shuyi exhaled. “The car is too cramped, so I’ll just lie here like this.” Shen Shuyi looked up at him. Zhao Yuheng twirled a strand of hair from his forehead, laughing, “Shen Shuyi, you’re so bad.”
“…” No man can accept being called bad, and Shen Shuyi was no exception.
He retorted sharply, “I’m just taking a break. You wait, I’ll give you something amazing once I’m rested!”
Shen Shuyi thought for a moment, then said fiercely, “I’ll drain you dry.”
“Okay,” Zhao Yuheng chuckled softly, “Baby, give me something amazing now, okay?”
Before Shen Shuyi could reply, Zhao Yuheng pressed down on his waist.
Shen Shuyi was forced into a completely new depth, almost crying out. Remembering that the garage wasn’t far from the main hall, he quickly bit Zhao Yuheng’s shoulder in fright.
“It’s okay, the rain is so loud, they can’t hear you.” Zhao Yuheng brushed aside his sweaty hair and whispered, “Call out, baby, I want to hear your voice.” By the end, Shen Shuyi was so exhausted he couldn’t move a single finger.
Zhao Yuheng carried him through the final washing and grooming. Shen Shuyi was already drowsy while taking a bath, and slept soundly until dawn.
Lately, he and Zhao Yuheng had become inseparable. If it weren’t for Uncle Lin being at the villa, Shen Shuyi would have loved to eat breakfast sitting on Zhao Yuheng’s lap.
After lunch, with nothing much to do in the afternoon, Shen Shuyi suddenly had the idea to have Zhao Yuheng change their WeChat profile pictures to match.
He sent Zhao Yuheng a photo of himself as a child and uploaded a photo of Zhao Yuheng at age two as his profile picture.
Shen Shuyi rarely changed his WeChat profile picture; this was practically a public announcement.
Instantly, everyone on his WeChat Moments, whether close or distant, flooded him with private messages asking if he was in a relationship.
Wasn’t it obvious?!
Shen Shuyi simply posted on his Moments.
[Hehe.] The accompanying picture was of his left hand, adorned with diamond rings—one on his index finger and one on his ring finger—one of which was Winston’s ring, which Shen Shuyi couldn’t bear to leave gathering dust in his closet.
The comment section instantly exploded with “99”.
[Wow, is this an official announcement?]
[Darling, your ring is so beautiful, which shop customized it?] Shen Shuyi coldly ignored these pointless comments.
He only replied to Lu Zhiwei’s comment: [I want to be a groomsman!!! I want to see who marries my first love!!] Shen Shuyi: [Soybean Smile]
He replied to Shen Lu’s message again: [Your profile picture is ugly, change it back to your own.]
Shen Shuyi: [Goodbye to tasteless people (manual goodbye)]
Zhao Yuheng’s photo is so cute, how is it ugly?!
Unexpectedly, Shen Lu still wouldn’t let it go and sent a private message: [Who’s your profile picture? Zhao Yuheng?]
[Yes.]
Shen Shuyi originally thought Shen Lu was asking him to change his profile picture, and he had already prepared some rebellious words, ready to fiercely argue with Shen Lu.
Unexpectedly, Shen Lu suddenly said, “Do you have the original photo? Send it to me.”
Shen Shuyi was stunned for a moment, then asked warily, “Brother, you’re not planning to use this photo to make a voodoo doll, are you?”
“Is this the image you have of me?”
Shen Shuyi sent over the photo of Zhao Yuheng, wondering what Shen Lu was up to. After thinking for a moment, he still reminded him, “I only have one boyfriend. If I lose him, I won’t live anymore!”
“Hmm. Perfect. Without you two being so lovey-dovey in front of me, I’ll live eighty years longer.”
Shen Shuyi: QuQ!
Shen Lu obviously wasn’t going to use the photo for any rituals. After zooming in on the photo of Zhao Yuheng, he unexpectedly dropped a bombshell in the chat: “Shuyi, if the child in the photo is Zhao Yuheng himself, you two should have met him when you were little.”
“??” Shen Shuyi sent three rows of question marks.
Shen Lu said, “I’ve seen him. He was this big when you were one year old.” Shen Shuyi found it unbelievable. That evening, Zhao Yuheng returned from the company—Shengjing had a branch in Hong Kong, and Zhao Yuheng would occasionally go there.
“My brother said we met when we were little!” Zhao Yuheng opened the door to find himself facing an unidentified flying object. The object then clung to him, and he exclaimed in surprise, “Do you remember me?!”
“When we were little?” Zhao Yuheng raised an eyebrow. “How little?”
“—Two years old?” Shen Shuyi quickly said, “Tell me quickly, do you remember me?!”
Zhao Yuheng thought for a moment.
In fact, he had a high fever when he was five, and had lost most of his childhood memories. He couldn’t recall ever seeing Shen Shuyi.
“Could your brother be mistaken?” Zhao Yuheng, still holding him, steadily walked to the sofa, Shen Shuyi still clinging to him.
“If I had seen such a cute little kid as you when I was little, I would definitely remember you.”
Zhao Yuheng’s words made Shen Shuyi begin to doubt whether Shen Shuyi was mistaken.
Because he firmly believed that he was so adorable as a child that he could charm the entire world; it was impossible for someone to have seen such a beautiful child as him and not remember him!
“Could it be that my brother remembered wrong?” Shen Shuyi asked, still somewhat doubtful.
To verify this, four days before the wedding, Shen Shuyi specifically took time to fly to the Shen family’s private island.
Zhao Yuheng accompanied him to the island, where Shen Shuyi’s life museum was located.
His life record of over twenty years, along with all the items and toys he had used, could be found in this museum.
It was Zhao Yuheng’s first time there, and he was unexpectedly filled with immense curiosity about the museum.
Shen Shuyi didn’t have the patience to explain the specific exhibits; instead, he went straight to the point, searching for photos and videos of himself from around one year old.
Zhao Yuheng slowly looked at the photos on the wall, including a photo album of Shen Shuyi at age four, the stroller he used as a child, the first bouquet of flowers he received after graduating high school, and next to it, the first suit Shen Shuyi wore at graduation.
Zhao Yuheng picked up his graduation album and looked at it again and again, finally taking the first button from his British-style school uniform, which was displayed in the showcase.
Zhao Yuheng felt no remorse for his shameless act of stealing Shen Shuyi’s museum collection.
If he had more time, he would have even driven over to steal more, the more the better.
“Oh my! It really is!”
Shen Shuyi exclaimed from not far away.
“Honey, come and see!”
He’d gotten more and more used to calling him that lately. Zhao Yuheng remained outwardly calm, but clenched his fist and took a deep breath.
So sweet, so cute, I want to bite him.
“Look at this photo—” Shen Shuyi held up the photo, but as soon as he turned his head, Zhao Yuheng grabbed the back of his neck and unexpectedly bit his lip.
“Mmm.” Shen Shuyi was caught off guard by the kiss. His lips were wet from being licked, and his teeth were pried open. Zhao Yuheng took a few quick bites before releasing his nibbled, dripping lips.
Shen Shuyi’s cheeks flushed red from the kiss, and his legs felt weak, making him unsteady on his feet.
Zhao Yuheng hugged him. “What are you looking at?”
Shen Shuyi quickly remembered what he was doing. “This photo, look at it!”
Zhao Yuheng looked down. Shen Shuyi was holding an eight-inch photo—his first birthday photo, surrounded by a group of people celebrating his birthday.
He looked at it for a while before nodding. “Very cute.”
“Oh, isn’t that obvious? Everyone knows Shen Shuyi is cute,” Shen Shuyi said. “Look here!”
He pointed to a corner.
Following his slender finger, Zhao Yuheng saw a little boy who looked about two years old in the corner, between several pairs of overlapping long legs. It was Zhao Yuheng.
“You actually came to my house when you were little!”
This house wasn’t Shuiwan One, but the Shen family’s old residence.
“I don’t remember.” Zhao Yuheng felt a sense of unfamiliarity even seeing his childhood face, as if he didn’t recognize that version of himself. He helplessly explained, “I had a high fever when I was five, and I can remember very little from before that.”
Shen Shuyi was a little disappointed.
“Then do you remember your adoptive parents…?” Zhao Yuheng shook his head.
He only remembered some fragmented memories.
These vaguely surfaced in his mind’s eye. From the very beginning of his life, the first scene he vaguely remembered was an unfamiliar orphanage, but because of the passage of time, Zhao Yuheng couldn’t remember if the orphanage actually existed or if his memory was playing tricks on him.
His adoptive parents probably adopted him from this orphanage, perhaps because he was physically healthy and good-looking.
“I only remember that my adoptive parents’ family was quite wealthy.”
If they weren’t wealthy, they probably wouldn’t have appeared at Shen Shuyi’s first birthday party.
Shen Shuyi hesitated for a moment: “Did you try to go back to them?”
“No,” Zhao Yuheng said, “but I heard some news.”
“They probably took the children and settled abroad, and never came back to Hong Kong.”
Zhao Yuheng spoke these words casually.
Shen Shuyi knew that being abandoned was a painful experience, especially since Zhao Yuheng’s life had been like a drifting duckweed, his family had come and gone in waves, which had led to his seemingly distant personality.
“I will always be with you from now on,” Shen Shuyi said quietly.
“Feeling sorry for your husband?” Zhao Yuheng teased him relentlessly.
This time, Shen Shuyi didn’t reply bluntly: “Yes.” Zhao Yuheng paused, somewhat at a loss for words.
“Well… although I don’t have many family members now.” Shen Shuyi picked up a framed photo of himself and Shen Lu when he was one year old: “But I can give you my brother.”
Zhao Yuheng was silent for a moment.
“Actually, there’s no need for that.” Zhao Yuheng said tactfully, “I think your brother might kill me.”
“How could that be!” Shen Shuyi said, “My brother is just stubborn but soft-hearted. Don’t worry, he definitely approves of you, otherwise he wouldn’t have agreed to this marriage.”
Shen Shuyi picked up another framed photo, taken shortly after Shen Shuyi was born. His parents, Grandpa Shen, and Shen Lu were all there, a wealthy family sitting around Shen Shuyi, a warm and harmonious scene.
Shen Shuyi took out a photo of Zhao Yuheng at two years old from his bag, disassembled the frame, carefully stuffed Zhao Yuheng’s picture inside, and placed it next to the young Shen Shuyi, holding it up like a treasure: “Look!” Shen Shuyi’s eyes sparkled: “From now on, I’m your family.” Zhao Yuheng held the composite photo, looked at it for a long time, and then whispered, “Okay.”
*
Shen Shuyi’s wedding was unprecedentedly grand, which was within his expectations.
Hong Kong media had been reporting on his wedding at least a week in advance, but on the actual day of Shen Shuyi’s wedding, the Shen family didn’t invite any media outlets, only a few familiar wedding photographers who followed the entire event.
His wedding location was also kept highly confidential. It wasn’t until a few candid photos with ambiguous details surfaced in mainstream media that everyone learned Shen Shuyi had married on a tropical private island owned by the Shen family.
The island is located in the central Pacific Ocean, with a pleasant climate, warm and spring-like all year round.
Shen Shuyi had originally wanted to hold the wedding in Northern Europe, simply because he’d heard the Northern Lights were incredibly photogenic.
But in the end, he had to give up the frigid north for a stylish suit.
The island had everything: hotels, villas, and beaches.
The wedding began in the morning; the ceremony wasn’t complicated, but Shen Shuyi was still somewhat nervous.
The vows were exchanged in a church on the island. Shen Shuyi stood behind the door, waiting for the officiant to announce the proceedings.
When the church doors opened, Shen Shuyi’s heart calmed down almost instantly.
Zhao Yuheng stood beside the officiant, and Shen Shuyi walked towards him steadily.
For the short distance, Shen Lu took his arm, leading him to Zhao Yuheng’s side.
Shen Shuyi stopped and glanced at Shen Lu.
Shen Lu sighed, “Live well. Little Shu, if you’re ever unhappy, you can still tell your brother. Your brother will always be your brother.” Shen Shuyi hadn’t seemed too upset before, but now, when Shen Lu released his hand and placed it in Zhao Yuheng’s palm, his eyes welled up with tears.
“Okay.” Zhao Yuheng quickly grabbed Shen Shuyi’s hand, afraid that if he hesitated even a second, Shen Shuyi would change his mind and not marry him. He hurriedly said, “Thank you, brother. I will take good care of Shuyi from now on.”
Shen Lu: “…” Who’s your brother? Get lost.
After the little dance, they exchanged rings and recited vows.
Witnessed by everyone, Shen Shuyi closed his eyes, letting Zhao Yuheng plant a kiss on his lips.
Out of the crowd’s sight, Zhao Yuheng chuckled softly.
“Shen Shuyi, congratulations on our marriage.”
He closed his eyes again, unable to resist kissing his lips, his voice trembling slightly, “I love you so much. Baby.” “He said to himself again. How lucky, Zhao Yuheng. He actually became Shen Shuyi’s husband just like that.
The wedding lasted two days; the second day was mainly for guests to explore the island at their own pace.
Shen Shuyi stayed at the only five-star ocean-view hotel on the island, with an open-air infinity pool cleverly connected to the sea just outside his balcony.
He didn’t swim in this infinity pool, leaving only traces of his trysts with Zhao Yuheng there.
So much so that when he returned home, he couldn’t even look at the pool the same way.
Life after the wedding seemed no different from before. After staying at Shuiwan One for a few days…” At the Shen family banquet, he and Zhao Yuheng returned to the Shen family’s old residence.
It was a rare trip back to Shen residence, and he encountered his uncles and aunts. To be well-behaved, Shen Shuyi ate a lot at dinner, which caused him some indigestion. After dinner, Zhao Yuheng accompanied him for a walk around the Shen family’s old residence.
The Shen family’s old residence was a traditional Hong Kong building, influenced by British architecture, with a Western style.
After dinner, Shen Shuyi went to the ancestral hall to kowtow to Old Master Shen.
His grandfather’s portrait was in the main hall. Shen Shuyi took it down, wiped it, and put it back, muttering, “Grandpa, I’m married now.”
Shen Shuyi glanced at Zhao Yuheng, seemingly feeling silly for saying this, but also a little embarrassed.
Zhao Yuheng said, “Why don’t you introduce me to Grandpa?”
Shen Shuyi: “…”
“So you were secretly eavesdropping, huh!”
“Grandpa, I’m Little Shu’s husband. We’re married,” Zhao Yuheng said softly. “I’ll take good care of Little Shu from now on.”
“Why are you suddenly saying this?”
“Am I some kind of unworthy husband?” Zhao Yuheng said sarcastically. “Some people won’t introduce me, so I had to volunteer.”
Shen Shuyi: “…..”
“Wait.” Zhao Yuheng suddenly reached out his hand, speaking seriously.
“What is it?!” Shen Shuyi quickly grabbed his arm. This was the Shen family’s ancestral hall. Even in his own home, only ancestral tablets were kept here. Hong Kong was very superstitious, and Shen Shuyi was no exception. He felt a chill run down his spine when Zhao Yuheng spoke so seriously.
Zhao Yuheng said in a deep voice, “I think I heard someone talking.”
“!” Shen Shuyi was so frightened he almost burst into tears. “I didn’t hear anything! Are you sure you didn’t mishear? Is it just the wind…? Zhao Yuheng, I think we should go. I want to go back to my room and sleep.”
“Shh.” Zhao Yuheng put his index finger to his lips.
Shen Shuyi wanted nothing more than to curl up and bury himself in Zhao Yuheng’s arms.
“You, you’re scaring me.”
“It sounds like… Grandpa’s voice.”
Shen Shuyi: QuQ.
Zhao Yuheng’s tone suddenly became aged, and he slowly said, “Grandpa seems to be saying… Little Zhao, Grandpa heard you. If Shuyi treats you badly or abandons you in the future, tell Grandpa, and Grandpa will definitely stand up for you.” Shen Shuyi was both amused and exasperated. “Are you crazy?!”
Zhao Yuheng’s imitation was spot-on.
“Grandpa already said that, Shen Shuyi, did you hear that? If you ever abandon me again, Grandpa will make trouble for you.”
Shen Shuyi snorted coldly, “Then listen to what Grandpa said next.”
“Said what?”
Shen Shuyi stood on tiptoe and whispered in Zhao Yuheng’s ear, word by word, “Grandpa said, Little Zhao, you’re a—pig!”
After saying that, he made a quick dash towards the door.
Zhao Yuheng snapped out of his daze and hurriedly chased after him.
The two walked out of the hall one after the other. Shen Shuyi ran quite fast, and it wasn’t until they reached the corridor that Zhao Yuheng picked him up and pulled him into his arms.
Naturally, he was subjected to a lot of teasing.
Shen Shuyi was tickled for a long time, laughing until tears streamed down his face, and he quickly apologized to Zhao Yuheng.
Zhao Yuheng held him in his arms and kissed him for a while until Shen Shuyi was out of breath, before he finally let him go.
Neither of them wanted to go back to their room, so they sat on a bench in the corridor for a while. Shen Shuyi didn’t want to sit on the hard chair, so he sat on Zhao Yuheng’s lap, saying whatever came to mind: “I grew up here. See that pavilion over there? Originally, there weren’t any drying racks there, but because I loved to play, Grandpa insisted on installing one for me.” Zhao Yuheng played with Shen Shuyi’s fingers, sometimes holding the fingertips, sometimes pinching his soft palm, as if he could never get enough of touching them.
He hugged Shen Shuyi, resting his chin in the crook of his neck, looking at the scene as Shen Shuyi described it. For some reason, fragmented memories flashed through his mind.
“Shen Shuyi, I think I remember something.”
Shen Shuyi turned to look at him: “What do you remember?”
“This place.” Zhao Yuheng pondered for a moment: “I think I really have been here before.”
Shen Shuyi immediately perked up: “Really? Think quickly, what else can you remember? Did we meet when we were little? Did we talk?”
Zhao Yuheng sighed: “Shuyi, you were only one year old then, you probably couldn’t talk.”
“Oh.” Shen Shuyi said: “Then you should have been able to talk by now, you were two years old!”
Shen Shuyi thought for a moment, rested his head on his shoulder, and said regretfully: “If only you hadn’t gotten lost, maybe we would have known each other since we were one or two years old. I really wanted a playmate about my age when I was little.”
“My brother is ten years older than me, just like my dad, it’s not interesting at all.”
Zhao Yuheng said: “He grew up with you, and then what?”
Shen Shuyi smiled slyly, suddenly turned around, and straddled Zhao Yuheng’s lap.
The latter adjusted his position, letting out a mocking laugh. He was pressed down perfectly by Shen Shuyi’s soft buttocks, right on target. He raised an eyebrow, unable to help but suspect this naughty cat was doing it on purpose.
Shen Shuyi was indeed doing it on purpose, even rubbing against him and blinking.
“And then…of course, starting in middle school, we…had a puppy love.”
