Allergic To Furry Things But Can Pet Them Mentally – CH40

Chapter 40

When he heard what Shen Muhan said, a strange little feeling rose in Tang Rong’s heart.

He did not know how to describe it. He could only say that this feeling made him unbelievably happy—the kind of happy where he felt like he might explode.

Back on the garbage planet, he had always been the one envying other children. He was always the one quietly watching from the side. He had never imagined that one day he would also become the center of attention, have something uniquely his own, and be envied by other children.

Without realizing it, Tang Rong tightened his grip on the little mascot’s hand. Then he suddenly turned and gave him a hug through the mascot suit.

“Little Han-brother, thank you.”

The words echoed inside the costume for a long while.

Under the mascot suit, the little cub had cooked all over again.

To stop people from continuing to ask whether they could take photos and interact, and also to keep from suffocating to death inside the mascot suit, Shen Muhan held Tang Rong’s little hand and led him toward the elevator, preparing to return to his cousin’s office, take off the heavy outfit, and stroll around the mall together with little Rong.

When Shen Yuchun saw that, he hurried after them in his large mascot suit as well.

He had no intention of really spending the whole day here wearing a mascot costume and acting as some lucky charm.

He was the boss—what kind of boss personally worked as the mascot… It wasn’t like Xiao Qiu had come.

In a little while, he would just assign a few staff members to wear mascot suits and take pictures with the children here. It was a long-awaited weekend, after all, and happiness mattered most.

The large one and the small one squeezed into the elevator together. Shen Yuchun could not wait to yank off the mascot head and gulp down big breaths of fresh air.

Hearing the commotion, Tang Rong tilted up his little head and took a look. He saw a brother about the same age as Second Sister. Since it was Tang Rong’s first time seeing him and he did not yet know who he was, he did not speak to him first. Instead, he lowered his gaze and looked at the little mascot he was still holding hands with.

“Little Han-brother, is it stuffy inside? Do you want to take the mascot head off first?”

The little mascot froze for a moment, then obediently removed the head.

Sure enough, he really had been stifled badly… even his face was all flushed from the heat.

Worry appeared in Tang Rong’s eyes. He immediately took the mascot head from Shen Muhan’s hands, afraid he might get tired.

The mascot head was shaped like a little snow leopard’s head, with a pair of tiny ears on top. It was especially cute.

Shen Muhan lowered his head shyly and only dared use the corner of his eye to look at the little friend beside him. It felt as though the temperature in the whole small space had risen.

Thankfully, the elevator suddenly stopped. They had reached the office.

Shen Muhan immediately led Tang Rong out with obvious eagerness.

With Tang Rong’s help, Shen Muhan took off the mascot suit. The hair he had so carefully combed at home was now a total mess from being squashed under the costume—some of it flattened, some of it sticking up in silly little tufts.

Tang Rong smiled and raised a small hand to smooth his hair for him.

Shen Muhan obediently lowered his head and let him fuss with it. The redness in his face showed no sign of fading now.

At the other side, the butler had started chatting briefly with Shen Yuchun.

After all, the Tang family had close ties with the royal family, and as the Tang family’s butler, he knew the information of every royal family member, including Shen Yuchun.

Shen Yuchun’s father was the emperor’s elder brother, but he was obsessed with art and had no interest in managing the empire. Together with his like-minded wife, he had chosen the carefree life of wandering clouds and wild cranes.

Shen Yuchun was the same age as Second Miss, and the two of them had even been classmates in virtual kindergarten when they were small. They had not become friends, though, and likely did not even remember each other.

Shen Yuchun was lively by nature and had a strong head for business. It was just that, according to rumor, he had often done silly things as a child, which earned him the nickname “Chunchun.” Strangely enough, he rather liked the nickname and did not mind being called that at all.

Looking at him now, that nickname truly had not been given in vain.

Who knew how he had come up with the idea of stuffing the little crown prince into a mascot suit…

Forget it. If the royal family itself did not mind, why should he be the one caring so much?

As long as little Rong was happy, that was enough.

“This is my cousin. His name is Shen Yuchun,” Shen Muhan took the initiative to introduce him.

Tang Rong nodded, looked toward the man walking over, and obediently greeted him, “Hello, brother Chun.”

Though inwardly, he did think the name sounded a little strange—Shen… Shen Yuchun… he did not know which characters it was, but surely not those ones. Who would name someone like that?

It was not polite to make comments about other people’s names, though, so Tang Rong only thought it in his heart.

Shen Yuchun could not resist ruffling his little head—after all, no one who saw such a cute little cub could possibly hold back from touching his head—and replied with a smile, “I heard you’re little Han’s best friend. This mall belongs to brother, so everything today is completely free. Have fun, alright?”

Tang Rong’s eyes widened slightly.

The mall… belonged to this brother?!

That was way too amazing!!

He knew that people who did business were called merchants. Some small merchants would set up stalls and sell things, while big merchants would own shops, or even malls. Someone like brother Chun was definitely a super super super big merchant, the especially amazing, especially rich kind.

Being stared at like that by the little cub’s shocked and admiring eyes, Shen Yuchun awkwardly raised a hand to touch his nose. His eyes curved with amusement, and he added, “If Rongrong likes it here, help brother spread the word, okay? Come play here more often with your family too.”

Tang Rong immediately nodded and said yes.

If the assistant had been there, he definitely would’ve thought, Your little scheme is practically written all over your face. Did you really want publicity, or were you actually hoping to see a certain someone?

Sadly, assistant brother was not present, and none of the people here saw through his little thoughts.

The butler even thought it had been very well said. Once they told little Rong the whole truth later on—including his talent and all the fluffy identities hidden by the family—then the whole family really could come to the mall together.

This mall was the nearest, best, and most convenient one to Eden Garden. It was very suitable for a family outing with the child.

After chatting for a while, Shen Muhan eagerly took Tang Rong’s little hand again, led him out of the office, and took the elevator down to the children’s floor.

The children’s area took up an entire level. It had been decorated like a fairy-tale paradise, and now and then one could even see college students using their spirit forms to work part-time, all fluffy and running around, interacting with guests. It truly felt as though one had stepped into a fairy tale.

And since all the stores had activities open this afternoon, the place was incredibly lively.

This was the first time Tang Rong had ever seen so many children or entered such a lively place.

To avoid disrupting normal operations, the assistant had ignored Shen Yuchun’s impulsive “open it all for free” remark and instead added some extra benefit events, informed all the shops ahead of time, waived any charges for Tang Rong and Shen Muhan, and gave them premium treatment.

The moment they stepped out of the elevator, an NPC dressed as a little witch suddenly appeared, with a cute owl decoration perched on her shoulder. She handed Tang Rong and Shen Muhan each a small booklet. Every store had its own stamp, and if they collected them all, they could exchange for a big prize.

Tang Rong immediately grabbed Shen Muhan’s hand and excitedly started visiting the stores one by one to collect stamps.

Some stores interested them very much, so they would stay a while and try out the activities there. Others did not interest them, so they just got the stamp and left.

At one point, Tang Rong suddenly stopped in front of a shop full of dolls.

Shen Muhan glanced at the store. Although deep down he felt that Tang Rong probably would not be interested in a store more suited to girls, he still asked, “Do you want to go inside and take a look?”

Tang Rong shook his head. He really was not that interested in dolls. He would prefer animal-shaped plush toys. But…

“The little clothes are all so pretty. It would be great if there were sizes that baby could wear,” Tang Rong said.

Not only were the dolls dressed in beautiful little outfits, there were also many additional clothes displayed nearby that could be changed into. There were many kinds, but the dolls were much smaller than the little snow leopard. The little snow leopard definitely would not be able to wear them.

Back in virtual kindergarten, Luo Yue and Luo Xing had also shown them pictures of their cat. Tang Rong remembered that in some of those photos, the cat was wearing tiny little clothes and looked especially cute. At the time, he had already thought that once he could earn money, he would definitely buy baby some little clothes too.

Now that he saw doll clothes in the shop, he remembered it again.

Shen Muhan: “……”

As if oil had been smeared on the soles of his feet, Shen Muhan hurriedly dragged Tang Rong away to another shop.

He absolutely did not want to wear those little dresses!

The butler, following behind the two little cubs, thoughtfully stroked his chin and opened his optical brain. He sent Second Miss a message asking her to make some little snow leopard-sized clothes so little Rong could enjoy dressing it up.

After all, the little crown prince was always taking advantage of little Rong… It was only right that he pay a little “price” too.
