Allergic To Furry Things But Can Pet Them Mentally – CH38

Chapter 38

After arranging to meet Tang Rong at the mall, Shen Muhan quickly finished his lunch.

There were a few more little chicken drumsticks than usual at lunch today, but Shen Muhan had no mood to savor them. His mind was full of the upcoming meeting with little Rong, so he only gulped the food down.

As soon as he finished eating, he ran straight to the mirror in his room and began fussing over himself.

This was his first offline meeting with little Rong—he absolutely had to prepare properly!

Pick out the best-looking clothes!

Comb his hair smoother! Mom had messed it up when she rubbed against him.

Pack candy and flowers in his little bag!

And he still had to prepare a small gift for little Rong!

A small gift… a small gift…

Shen Muhan searched through the whole house and still could not find anything he felt was suitable to give little Rong.

Seeing his anxious little expression, Shen Chuanqiong suggested, “Why not go to the mall a little early and buy little Rong a gift there? He still has to come over from the restaurant, so he won’t be here that quickly.”

Shen Muhan thought that made sense, so he immediately slung on his little shoulder bag and changed his shoes.

Shen Chuanqiong and Han Zhi exchanged a helpless smile and also put on shoes to go out, preparing to send him to the mall and personally hand him over to his cousin.

While supervising the mall setup, Shen Yuchun replied to messages from his soon-to-arrive younger cousin and personally took the VIP elevator down to the parking garage, where he received the crown prince cousin he had not seen in a long time—Shen Muhan.

Because of Shen Muhan’s physical condition, he actually had not spent much time around him.

But his own father and mother were both deeply devoted to art and had always raised him rather freely. When he was small, the two of them were always traveling to different planets for exhibitions and exchanges. Left alone on the capital planet, he would often run over to his uncle’s place, where he always got to see the aunt he had grown up close to like childhood sweethearts. Later, after his uncle and aunt married and inherited the throne, their relationship had still remained very good.

He was actually very happy whenever his uncle and aunt entrusted him with something.

Holding Shen Muhan’s little hand, Shen Yuchun said to the two people inside the car, both still wearing sunglasses, “Don’t worry. I’ll keep an eye on little Han and them.”

Once he watched the two of them disappear toward the elevator, Shen Chuanqiong suddenly said, “Maybe I should arrange for a few more people to come over… I still feel a bit uneasy about that silly kid.”

Han Zhi let out a laugh. “There are already more than enough people there. Chun’er is twenty-five already and his business is doing so well. What truly stupid businessman is there? Trust him.”

Leading his younger cousin into the VIP elevator, Shen Yuchun took the initiative to ask, “I heard you want to prepare a gift for another little friend?”

Shen Muhan nodded.

Shen Yuchun asked, “What are you planning to give?”

Shen Muhan pressed his lips together slightly. “I haven’t decided yet. But he really likes little snow leopards.”

Shen Yuchun silently noted that down and said, “Then why not get him a snow leopard plush?”

Shen Muhan immediately shook his head. “No. He already has a little snow leopard.”

With him there to stay by little Rong’s side, what was the point of a snow leopard plush?

That nine-tailed fox plush was already annoying enough as it was.

Shen Yuchun looked at him deeply and, for some reason, caught the faint scent of something interesting.

He knew Shen Muhan’s spirit form was a snow leopard.

Just then, the elevator stopped at his office. Shen Yuchun immediately led Shen Muhan out and brought him to sit on the sofa, leaning in like a good buddy. “How’s your relationship with this little friend? Is it extremely good?”

Shen Muhan nodded heavily.

They were the very best of friends.

“And do you really like this little friend?” Shen Yuchun asked again.

Shen Muhan nodded heavily once more.

He really liked little Rong.

As if he had found a kindred spirit, Shen Yuchun patted his chest and declared, “Leave it all to your cousin! I’m the best when it comes to chasing—I mean, preparing gifts.”

On the other side, on the hovercar ride to the restaurant, the butler carefully watched Tang Rong’s mood for a long time. Only after fully confirming that the Yun family had not affected him at all and that he was completely full of eager anticipation for meeting the little crown prince offline did the weight in his heart finally ease away.

Thinking about how that child earlier had been unconsciously shut down so badly by Tang Rong still made him want to laugh.

Later, when Tang Rong chatted about the little crown prince and even video-called him, the butler had not stopped him, also because he wanted the Yun family to know that whether Tang Rong had any so-called talent or not, he was still a child of the Tang family, under the Tang family’s protection and backed by Tang family resources. They should stop entertaining any unnecessary thoughts about him. Behaving themselves would be best for everyone.

The hovercar sped along, and before long they passed a seaside avenue. The butler checked the time, saw that it was not especially late yet, then lowered the speed a little and opened the window.

A salty scent immediately rushed into the car.

Not counting the time they had passed the capital planet on the way here, this was Tang Rong’s first time truly coming to the seaside. He had never eaten seafood either. Curiously, his little nose twitched as he sniffed the strange and wonderful smell.

Back on the garbage planet, the only waters Tang Rong usually encountered had been a few freshwater rivers. Because he had once seen corpses in the river, he was a little afraid of water. While Grandma had still been alive, she had often warned him to stay far away from water. Other than washing up when necessary, he rarely went near it, afraid he might accidentally fall in and drown.

A few days ago, while watching a cartoon, he had seen the characters go to an all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant. Out of curiosity, he had asked one question about it, and the butler had remembered it.

So now, he took the chance to personally bring Tang Rong to a seafood restaurant.

What made it different from simply having seafood delivered home was that here, Tang Rong could personally see many, many live seafood creatures, pick them himself, and have the chef cook them. That would be much more interesting.

During this time, the butler had finally noticed that Tang Rong was a little reluctant to spend money, so he told a lie. He said this seafood restaurant belonged to a friend of his and that eating here did not cost anything, because he was afraid Tang Rong would feel reluctant to eat otherwise.

The first time he saw so many “strangely shaped” seafood creatures, Tang Rong could not help widening his eyes. He took many photos and videos and sent them over to Shen Muhan again.

By now, he had already gotten used to sharing anything interesting from daily life with Little Han-brother whenever it happened.

And every time, Little Han-brother would also give him very good responses.

After choosing the seafood, the butler brought Tang Rong to the private room with the best view, where they could eat while enjoying the sea scenery.

Of all the dishes, Tang Rong especially liked the tender steamed shrimp meat, and he also liked the sweet and fragrant coconut rice.

Once his tummy was full, the butler took him to the beach, where he walked barefoot on the soft, fine sand for a while, and only then did they get back into the hovercar to head back.

The weather by the sea today was only so-so. If Tang Rong wanted to play, then next time, when the weather was better, they could bring the whole family to the beach together. It would be livelier that way too.

Floating Isle Mall had been built near Eden Garden three years ago. It was the largest mall closest to Eden Garden. For a mall to be opened near Eden Garden, the people behind it definitely had both power and influence. It was said to belong to the royal family.

The butler had gone there before in his free time. Though it could not compare to the very largest malls on the capital planet, among malls of similar scale, it was one of the very best.

At last, they arrived beneath the mall. The butler drove the hovercar into the parking garage, then took Tang Rong upstairs by elevator to the first floor.

After listening to the voice message Shen Muhan had sent, Tang Rong looked up at the butler and said, “Little Han-brother said he’s waiting for me at Entrance A on the first floor.”

The butler smiled and nodded, taking his little hand as they walked toward Entrance A.

Just before reaching it, the two of them spotted two mascot performers in the distance, holding flowers in their hands.

Several children surrounded the mascots, all scrambling to take pictures with them.

In a mall like this, mascots really did liven up the atmosphere.

If they had just been ordinary mascots, that would have been one thing. But their designs happened to be snow leopards. And if it had merely been that their designs were snow leopards, that would have still been one thing—but one of the mascots was large and one was small, and the smaller one looked more and more, the more one stared at it, as though Shen Muhan himself had been stuffed inside.

A vein throbbed at the butler’s temple.

…Whose idea had it been to stuff the little crown prince into a mascot suit??

The butler sincerely hoped he was overthinking it.

Unfortunately, reality did not cooperate.

Tang Rong spotted the two mascots in a single glance and immediately gave a little “Wow!” Holding tightly to butler Uncle’s hand, he excitedly walked closer, his eyes glued to them.

But when he got to about two meters away from the mascots, he suddenly slowed down and stopped, looking around in every direction for something.

The butler knew at once—he was looking for Shen Muhan.

While scanning around, Tang Rong still did not forget to glance at the mascots in their snow leopard forms.

Little Han-brother liked snow leopards too. He wanted to find Little Han-brother first, then go and cuddle the mascot together with him!

But no matter how he looked around, Tang Rong could not find the familiar figure. Blinking in confusion, he was just about to open his optical brain and call Little Han-brother when the two mascots suddenly started walking toward him.

Only, after barely taking two steps, the smaller mascot suddenly lost its balance and fell flat onto the floor. The larger mascot behind it got tripped by the smaller one and also crashed to the ground together with it.

Tang Rong was startled by the commotion.

Butler: “…”
