Chapter 89: A Ring, a Secret, and a New Beginning
Gu Tang had just woken up. When he opened his mouth, his voice was soft and sticky. “Is that Yiwen?”
“…”
Without changing expression, Gu Qinian pressed the power-off button and tossed the phone aside.
Gu Tang did not notice that Young Master Gu’s expression was off. He even reached out and tugged on his sleeve. “Yiwen is back? Why didn’t you tell me? Where’s Yiyi? Did she come back too? Mmfm—”
Before he could finish speaking, his lips were sealed.
The other person swept through his mouth like a conqueror storming a city. Every time he tried to make a sound, it was blocked back.
Gu Tang could not say a single word. His lips and tongue were kissed until they felt hot and numb.
He could barely breathe, and his fingers weakly scratched at the other man’s sides.
Niannian was ticklish…
If he scratched him, he would probably let him go, right?
Yet after this, Gu Tang finally understood one thing—
Gu Qinian was not ticklish.
Never had been.
All along, it had just been his own misunderstanding.
Maybe Niannian did not even like pink…
No matter how much Gu Tang scratched, Gu Qinian was unmoved. He kept kissing him exactly the same.
Only after kissing him until he had gone limp and no longer had the strength to speak did he suddenly tilt his head, bury himself in Gu Tang’s neck, and suck hard at the delicate little Adam’s apple there, biting it between his teeth and worrying at it.
A trembling sound escaped Gu Tang without warning, and his whole body shook badly.
More than ten minutes later, Gu Qinian finally let him go. His eyes were dark as he stared at him. “You are not allowed to call another man’s name in bed.”
Gu Tang’s eyes were wet, and his rosy, moist lips were slightly parted. A little bit of soft pink tongue inside had not even had time to pull back in.
The pajama buttons that had originally been fastened neatly had all been rubbed open, and beneath the spread collar was a patch of skin flushed pink.
The words left him confused.
He could not remember whose name he had called to make Young Master Gu so jealous.
He could only nod hazily.
Gu Qinian’s mood instantly brightened. Lowering his head, he rubbed the tip of his nose against Gu Tang’s. “When you call for me, you can only call me.”
Whether from embarrassment or heat, Gu Tang’s cheeks were very red.
He knew what Young Master Gu wanted to hear.
But for some unknown reason, every time he used that form of address, he became especially shy.
“Qinian…”
Gu Tang called him in a voice as faint as a mosquito’s hum, then burrowed into the blanket.
Young Master Gu pinched his waist.
“Can you call me that later too?” Gu Qinian asked.
Gu Tang: “?”
Before he could ask anything, he saw Young Master Gu turn around and take out a small pink box from the bedside drawer.
Gu Tang: “???”
So Young Master Gu still liked pink after all…
Gu Tang thought distractedly.
But when he saw words like “large size” and “ultra-thin” printed on the fresh pink box, Gu Tang finally realized what it was.
Gu Qinian tore open the pink wrapper with his teeth. “Later, if you call my name, I’ll stop.”
Gu Tang felt a little nervous and nodded obediently.
Those innocent round eyes were full of trust.
…
Who knew how much time had passed.
An arm dangled weakly from the edge of the bed, and from the wrist hung a small jade-green gourd.
The warm light in the room made that slender pale arm look as though it had been glazed with honey. When the shadow on the wall moved, the little jade gourd trembled along with it.
Mixed into the pitiful whimpering sounds made by the owner of that arm was what seemed to be someone’s name.
Sometimes it was “Niannian,” sometimes “Qinian.”
Sometimes it dissolved into incoherent little gasps, making it impossible to tell what exactly he was calling…
Gu Tang discovered that he had been tricked.
The more he called the other man’s name, the rougher he became.
Gu Tang pressed his lips tightly together and refused to call anymore, but then his lips were kissed open again.
He raised a hand to cover his face. The jade gourd at his wrist hung beside his cheek, making his skin look even milky whiter and more tempting.
Gu Qinian caught his wrist, pulled both his arms apart, and coaxed him while kissing him.
Outside, the snow fell harder and harder. Through the pane of glass, the snowfall was silent and the temperature dropped lower and lower, yet the air indoors was scorching hot. The warmth under the blanket felt as though it could melt a person…
The next day, Gu Qinian got up very early to cook congee.
He had learned how to simmer porridge from the Gu family’s chef, and the congee he made was so fragrant that the smell could be caught even through the room.
Leaning against the bed, Gu Tang licked his lips.
Not long after, Young Master Gu carried the steaming bowl of congee into the bedroom.
Gu Qinian tucked a napkin into the collar of the person on the bed, making it into a little bib, then scooped up a spoonful of congee, blew it cool, and held it to his lips.
Gu Tang wanted to say that his hands were not broken and he could eat by himself.
But when he opened his mouth, he realized his throat felt as though someone were squeezing it, and he could not get out a single sentence.
So angry, he punched Young Master Gu once.
Only, the punch was soft and limp, neither painful nor itchy when it landed on the body.
Gu Qinian held that tiny fist and took the initiative to admit fault. “I was wrong.”
Gu Tang could not speak, so he could only mouth the words at him: Wrong about what?!
“I shouldn’t have failed to consider sustainable development.”
Sitting upright with a completely serious tone, Gu Qinian said, “I shouldn’t have made you cry yourself hoarse. I’m sorry.”
Gu Tang pulled back his hand and hit Young Master Gu several more times in a row.
But even then, it did not ease his anger.
Young Master Gu’s body was solid and hard, and hitting him did nothing, so Gu Tang simply grabbed the other man’s arm and bit down on it with an “ah-woo.”
Gu Qinian did not feel pain in the least. Instead, he found the bite numb and itchy in a rather pleasant way.
Staring at the fluffy little head bent over his arm, he reminded him in a low voice, “It’s morning, you know. If you keep biting me, things might get dangerous.”
Gu Tang: “!”
The air in the room still smelled like strawberries!
That just showed how many had been used last night.
Was he even human?!
Instinctively, Gu Tang’s gaze dropped, and he shrank back in fear.
With a helpless look, Gu Qinian pulled the blanket corner over his own legs. “All right, all right, don’t be scared. Come eat.”
Gu Tang shook his head. He no longer believed him.
Gu Qinian had no choice but to frighten him. “If you don’t come over and eat your congee, I’ll feed you something else.”
“!!!”
Gu Tang did not dare move.
He was scooped up and held in the other man’s arms, fed mouthful after mouthful of the delicious congee.
The congee really was tasty, but Gu Tang always felt as though the waistband of the other man’s pants was pressing against his lower back.
Only after Gu Qinian finished feeding him, stood up to clear away the bowls and chopsticks, and then went to the bathroom did Gu Tang realize something.
At home, wearing pajamas to sleep—where would a waistband come from?!
After calculating the length of time, even Gu Qinian felt that he had gone too far.
As the saying went, a brief separation was like a new marriage. They had been apart for months, and on top of that they already knew the taste of each other. Last night, he really had tormented Gu Tang too hard.
When he cleaned him up afterward, he had even found that some of the skin had been rubbed raw.
No wonder Gu Tang would not pay him any attention…
With the soothing effect of the hot congee, Gu Tang’s throat finally recovered a little. He could speak again, so he opened his mouth and summoned Young Master Gu. “Come here…”
Very good. He was not even calling him Niannian anymore.
Gu Qinian knew Gu Tang was holding in his anger.
After all, last night, no matter what Gu Tang called him, he had never stopped.
Accepting his fate, he walked to the bedside and crouched in front of the young man.
Gu Tang saw that such a large Young Master Gu had crouched in front of him, tilting his face up to look at him, the narrow corners of his eyes drooping. He looked like a big dog who knew he had done something wrong.
Gu Tang raised a hand and ruffled his head. The dog fur was smooth.
He patted the mattress beside him. “Sit up here.”
Young Master Gu was much better behaved than last night.
One command, one action.
At the order, he immediately sat beside him, eyes bright, even reaching out as if he wanted to hug him.
If he had had a tail, it definitely would have been wagging excitedly right now.
Mercilessly, Gu Tang pressed a hand against his chest. “No hugging.”
Gu Qinian froze slightly, then his shoulders slumped spiritlessly, both arms hanging down pitifully.
Seeing him like that, Gu Tang softened a little.
He crooked a finger at him.
Gu Tang said, “Bring your head a little closer.”
Now over twenty, the young man had shed the greenness of youth and grown even more beautiful, but there was still the lively spirit unique to youth in his brows and eyes. The way he curled his finger was like a little fox luring people in without knowing it.
There was an innocent sort of seduction about it.
Gu Qinian’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and as if enchanted, he leaned his head over.
He had thought Gu Tang wanted a kiss.
But when the distance closed, the young man suddenly cupped his cheeks in both hands.
“Let me see how the place Dad hit last time is doing…”
Young Master Gu had returned so suddenly last night, and it had been in the dimly lit bedroom. After that they had been busy fooling around under the blankets, so there had been no time to look.
Now, Gu Tang finally had the chance to inspect the other man’s brow bone carefully.
The place that had been injured before had already healed.
The wound had not been large. Only by looking very closely could one see a faint little mark.
It probably would not be long before even the scar disappeared.
“Good thing you were not disfigured.”
Gu Tang let out a long breath of relief.
Young Master Gu’s face could be said to be the greatest masterpiece in the whole book. The original author had devoted a great deal of writing to describing his looks.
If it had really been ruined by a teacup lid, what a pity that would have been…
Thinking of all the blood Young Master Gu had shed that day, Gu Tang felt his heart ache.
But Gu Qinian did not think much of it. Not to mention it was only a small wound—even if his father had broken one of his arms and one of his legs that day, it would still have been deserved.
“Getting beaten was only right.”
Gu Qinian looked deeply at the young man before him. “I was being a bastard.”
Thinking about it from another perspective, Gu Qinian could very well understand his father.
The treasure he had raised in the palm of his hand since childhood had turned around and been eaten up completely by someone else.
If they had not been father and son, then his father probably would not have stopped at beating him. He might have tied stones to him and thrown him into the river.
But he did not regret it.
Even if he had to stand against the whole world, he still wanted Gu Tang.
If it were not for the fact that Young Master Gu’s eyes changed shades several times, Gu Tang would not have known that there could be so many kinds of black in the world. A color that should have been dark and frightening looked beautiful in Young Master Gu’s eyes.
He raised a hand and gestured. “That day, it missed your eye by this tiny little bit.”
“Dad was way too much.”
Gu Tang’s favoritism had reached absurd levels.
He knelt up on the bed, held Young Master Gu’s face, and lowered his head to kiss his brow. “Does it still hurt?”
It had stopped hurting a long time ago.
Wait a little longer and even the scar would be impossible to find.
Gu Qinian lied with his eyes closed. “It hurts. It hurts a lot.”
Gu Tang knew he was talking nonsense.
But the Young Master Gu who lied so solemnly was very cute.
He curved his lips and kissed his brow bone several more times. “Then I’ll kiss you a little more.”
“All right.”
Gu Qinian wrapped his arms tightly around the young man’s waist, wishing he could embed him into his own body.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Gu Tang gave Young Master Gu one last big kiss, then blushing, pushed him lightly. “Go answer the door. See who’s here.”
Gu Qinian frowned.
No matter who had come—they deserved a beating first.
Jiang Yiwen waited at the door for quite a while, looking up at the unit number several times.
“It’s right…”
“This is the address they left me…”
Looking at the address recorded on his phone, Jiang Yiwen scratched his head in confusion. “Did I remember it wrong?”
At that moment, the door flew open with a bang.
Jiang Yiwen looked at the person inside the doorway. “Hi!”
Bang—
The door slammed shut again, cold-blooded and merciless, leaving him smacked outside.
Jiang Yiwen: “?”
As if nothing had happened, Gu Qinian walked back to the bedroom.
Gu Tang asked him, “Who was it?”
Without changing expression, Gu Qinian answered, “The garbage collector.”
Gu Tang: “?”
“You’re lying, right?”
“Our neighborhood does not even have property management. Where would some door-to-door garbage collector come from?”
Gu Qinian: “…”
His darling was always sharp at the wrong moments.
Remembering last night’s phone call, Gu Tang narrowed his eyes. “Was it Yiwen?”
Gu Qinian said nothing.
“If you won’t open the door, I’ll go do it myself!”
As he spoke, Gu Tang was about to throw off the blanket and get out of bed.
The moment his two fair tender legs stretched out, the red marks all over them became impossible to ignore, especially on the insides of his thighs, the hardest-hit area.
“…”
Gu Tang’s little face immediately reddened.
Gu Qinian snatched the blanket and covered him up, gritting his teeth. “Lie down. I’ll go.”
A moment later, Jiang Yiwen was finally let in.
After opening the door for him, Gu Qinian abandoned him in the living room and went straight back into the bedroom without even offering him a glass of water.
Jiang Yiwen did not mind. He sat on the little sofa with his long legs bent.
Blinking, he looked around.
It was a very ordinary home, not too big and not too small, just right for two people to live in. Although the furniture and facilities were all simple and plain, it was obvious the owner had put thought into arranging it. It felt very warm.
There were even two or three little green plants growing on the kitchen windowsill. They were quite cute.
At a glance, it looked like Gu Tang’s handiwork.
Thinking that he was about to see Gu Tang, Jiang Yiwen unconsciously sat up straighter and adjusted his clothes.
Although they had always stayed in contact and video-called often, this was still their first reunion in more than ten years.
Jiang Yiwen wanted to leave an impression of being mature and steady.
He could not help glancing toward the tightly shut bedroom door.
Why had Gu Qinian gone in for so long?
Was he waking Gu Tang up?
How old was Gu Tang already, and he still slept that deeply. Back in kindergarten, every nap time, he had always been the one hardest to wake.
It was not that Gu Tang had slept especially deeply.
It was just that he had looked especially adorable when asleep.
Small and soft, like a little bundle.
Even the teachers could not bear to wake him.
Did it still take this long to get him out of bed now?
Could it be that Gu Qinian could not bear to wake him either, or maybe he was even helping him get dressed?
Jiang Yiwen shook his head with a smile.
No way…
Inside the bedroom.
Gu Qinian was crouched by the bedside, putting socks on Gu Tang.
Gu Tang struggled a little. “I can do it myself…”
Back at the Gu house, Young Master Gu had helped him dress before too. But now their relationship was different, and there was a guest outside. Just thinking about it made his face burn.
Yet it would have been better if he had not struggled at all. The moment his calf moved slightly, his ankle was caught.
Gu Qinian lowered his head and kissed the top of the young man’s fair foot, deliberately making a loud smacking sound.
Gu Tang’s face turned red all the way to his ears, and he let out a sharp whisper, “What are you doing?! Isn’t that dirty?!”
“If you move again, I’ll keep kissing you.”
Gu Qinian’s voice was low and deep.
Gu Tang did not dare move anymore. He knew Young Master Gu meant what he said.
After all, even more outrageous places had already been kissed.
“Yiwen is still outside…”
Gu Tang nervously pressed his legs together and curled his feet in.
“What do I care about him?”
Gu Qinian let out a cold snort. “Letting him in was generous enough. He can wait.”
To keep Jiang Yiwen from waiting too long, Gu Tang had no choice but to stay still like a doll and let Young Master Gu dress him up.
Once he was fully dressed, Gu Qinian picked him up.
Still in the same upright hold used for carrying little children.
Feeling his backside supported by the other man’s strong arm, Gu Tang felt unbearably hot. “I can walk by myself!”
“No, you can’t.”
“…”
—
Jiang Yiwen had not expected Gu Tang to be carried out. “Th-this… what happened? Tangtang, did you hurt your legs?”
Gu Tang covered his face.
This was probably the most humiliating possible way to reunite with a childhood friend after such a long separation.
He murmured, “No, I’m fine.”
Jiang Yiwen gave a start. “And your throat too…”
Last night on the phone, he had clearly sounded like a little songbird.
How had his voice become this hoarse now???
Gu Qinian did not put Gu Tang down on any seat. Instead, he sat in the single armchair himself and directly settled Gu Tang onto his lap.
At the same time, Jiang Yiwen caught sight of the faint red marks showing beneath Gu Tang’s high collar.
One of them was right on his Adam’s apple.
Then he remembered the way Gu Qinian always looked whenever Gu Tang was mentioned—a face full of smug springtime delight.
Jiang Yiwen suddenly understood. “You two got together!”
“Can’t you speak properly?”
Gu Qinian glared at him coldly. “This is called dating.”
Jiang Yiwen pointed at Gu Tang. “Dating… can make someone turn out like this?”
He could not even walk?!
Too ashamed to face his childhood friend, Gu Tang curled up into a ball in Young Master Gu’s arms.
But Gu Qinian was in an excellent mood. While patting Gu Tang’s back gently to comfort him, he sternly emphasized to Jiang Yiwen, “I’m with Gu Tang now, so from now on, you are not allowed to give him flowers anymore.”
The moment those words came out, both Gu Tang and Jiang Yiwen showed bewildered expressions.
Jiang Yiwen looked blank. “When did I ever give Gu Tang flowers?”
“Kindergarten junior class arts-and-crafts lesson.”
Gu Qinian’s expression was gloomy. “Didn’t you fold a little flower and trot over to give it to him?”
As he spoke, Young Master Gu let out another cold laugh. “But even if you gave it to him, you gave it for nothing. Gu Tang gave his flower to me. He only folded one, and after he made it, he gave it to me.”
“…”
Gu Tang was speechless. “Who would remember something from that age?!”
Once reminded, Jiang Yiwen remembered.
He really had given him one.
Back then, Gu Tang had been the cutest child in the Sunflower Class. Everyone in class liked him.
He had liked him too.
He could not help wanting to give Gu Tang all the best things.
But after giving him the flower, he had watched helplessly as Gu Tang handed his own little flower to Gu Qinian instead.
He had been dejected over that for quite some time.
This time, because he was finally about to see Gu Tang again, he had been very happy. Unfortunately, before he could figure out the reason for that happiness, Gu Tang and Gu Qinian were already dating.
Perhaps, just like his little sister said, he really was destined to be the eternal second male lead.
Forget it. Better to focus on his career…
Jiang Yiwen quickly sorted out that tiny childhood crush.
He had just come back to himself when he heard Gu Qinian ask coldly, “Why did you come running over here so early in the morning?”
At that, Jiang Yiwen had plenty to say.
“Early? It’s almost noon already!”
“Boss, your phone was turned off. What else was I supposed to do?!”
Gu Qinian waved a hand. “If there’s something, say it.”
Jiang Yiwen straightened up, his expression turning serious. “I chased the trail all night and found that Yu Rong’s assets were transferred back into the country. Looks like a third party made the move.”
Gu Qinian frowned. “…Who could it be?”
The two of them were deep in thought.
Then Gu Tang slowly raised one hand. “Me.”
Gu Qinian: “?”
Jiang Yiwen: “???”
—
Recently, Yu Xiao could not even be bothered to manage Yu Corporation’s own business. All his attention was focused on Young Master Gu.
Following his father’s instructions, he had stopped putting pressure on Gu Qinian.
But something strange happened. All of a sudden, Gu Qinian sold off every spare resource he had on hand. It did not look like he was fighting for the position of head of the Gu family anymore; it looked more like he was liquidating everything and preparing to run.
Turning all shares and resources into cash.
If that was not preparing to flee, then what was it?
Yu Xiao could not make sense of it. “How strange… could it be… he gave up?”
Bang—
After hearing the news, Gu Quan slammed a hand against the table. “What is this brat doing?!”
Not fighting for the position of head of the Gu family, cashing out and lying flat.
Could it be that he could not take it anymore, did not want to continue, and was preparing to give up his precious darling???
He had known it—young people had no staying power!
For a time, both the Gu family and the Yu family had their attention fixed on Gu Qinian.
They failed to notice that a brand-new company had appeared out of nowhere.
The company had started in the new energy sector, and its business expanded with astonishing speed. In just a few short months, it actually began swallowing up related businesses from both Gu Corporation and Yu Corporation.
And it seemed to understand both Gu Corporation and Yu Corporation extremely well. Its actions were precise and discreet.
By the time Yu Xiao and Gu Quan realized something was wrong, this new company had already eaten into their core business.
At that point, both families received invitations from the company.
The two heads of the families were invited to engage in a friendly business exchange.
“Friendly my ass!”
Gu Quan threw the invitation onto the table. “This company wants to pry up the foundations of both Gu Corporation and Yu Corporation!”
On the other side, Yu Xiao and Yu Chongyuan also felt that the new company would likely become a formidable rival in the future. They contacted Gu Quan and decided to attend this feast-at-Hongmen together.
When the three of them arrived, they were surprised to find that the company was not large.
It completely fit the scale of a newly established company.
Its business throughput, however, was astonishing, which only showed how powerful the mastermind behind it had to be.
The three men were led to the president’s office.
The moment the door opened, they saw a familiar figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window with his back to them.
Gu Quan thought his eyes had gone bad with age and rubbed them hard. “…Qinian?”
Yu Xiao’s eyes widened in shock as well. “It’s you!!!”
“How is that possible?”
They had been watching Gu Qinian’s every move this whole time. There was no way he should have had the time to do anything else.
At that moment, a refined young man walked in carrying coffee.
“Please, the three of you.”
Jiang Yiwen smiled warmly. “My apologies. The one you’ve all been keeping your eyes on lately was me.”
Every action involving the sale of assets had been handled by Jiang Yiwen, the ace assistant.
“A clever sleight of hand.”
Yu Chongyuan nodded with great admiration and looked toward the person standing by the window. “So Young Master Gu is the hidden owner of this company, correct?”
Gu Qinian turned around and curled his lips. “Wrong answer.”
“I’m only responsible for managing and operating it. The real owner of this company, and its biggest investor, is—”
As he spoke, he turned the high-backed boss’s chair around.
Sitting in the boss’s chair was a delicate and adorable young man, waving his hand at the three of them. “Dad, Dad Gu, Big Brother, hello.”
The three men: “???”
“Where did Tangtang get that much money?”
Yu Xiao was the first to recover. “Was it Tangtang who took Yu Rong’s overseas assets before?”
Looking apologetic, Gu Tang said, “I’m sorry, Big Brother…”
“No, no need to apologize.”
Yu Xiao could not bear the shock in his heart. “I just want to know—how did you do it?”
At the time, he too had intended to pull that asset back in, but because it was overseas, the operation had been extremely difficult. Even if he could have brought it back, a large portion would have been lost in the process.
How had his little brother managed it?
“That’s none of your concern.”
Gu Qinian interrupted Yu Xiao and stopped him from asking further.
Gu Tang truly could not explain it anyway, because he could not expose the existence of the system. Back when he had handed that money over to Young Master Gu, he had been very afraid the other man would ask.
But Young Master Gu had only looked at him deeply once and said nothing.
It was not that Gu Qinian was not curious.
It was simply that he himself had returned reborn, and the only change in this world was Gu Tang.
If Gu Tang had any little secret that could not be explained, he could understand it.
He would absolutely never force Gu Tang to explain anything.
He was afraid…
Afraid that if he learned what he should not know,
his little angel would disappear from his side.
There was nothing more terrifying than losing Gu Tang, so he would ask nothing.
Once Yu Xiao learned that Gu Tang had given all the money to Gu Qinian to start this company, he instantly turned sour and pointed at Gu Qinian while cursing, “You’re living off your partner!”
“So what if I am?”
Gu Qinian looked completely fearless. “Oh, right. You don’t get to.”
“Big Brother, you don’t have a wife, of course you wouldn’t know the joy of winning while lying flat and being supported by your wife.”
Yu Xiao: “…”
Gu Tang tugged hard at Young Master Gu’s sleeve. “What nonsense are you saying!”
Facing his easily embarrassed darling, Gu Qinian’s brows softened and a smile hung at the corner of his lips. “Fine, I won’t say it anymore. I won’t let them hear.”
Gu Tang’s face went red like a little apple, and he scratched Young Master Gu once.
After thinking it over and over, Yu Xiao still could not understand. “Even without Tangtang, you might not necessarily have lost. If you had held on just a bit longer, you could have escaped the encirclement of Yu Corporation and Gu Corporation. Why suddenly change strategies? Why sell everything and start a new company?”
“You succeeded, yes, but wasn’t that risk way too great?”
Before Gu Qinian could answer, Yu Chongyuan let out a sigh toward his eldest son. “A-Xiao, can’t you see it yet?”
Yu Xiao: “?”
Yu Chongyuan shook his head. “No wonder you’ve been single for thirty years.”
Yu Xiao: “???”
Sitting in the boss’s chair, Gu Tang rubbed his fingers together. “Niannian said that if he let me play too, it would be more fun…”
Yu Xiao stared at Gu Qinian in shock. “You went through all that trouble just to make Tangtang happy?”
“Wouldn’t it be worth it?”
Gu Qinian lowered his head and kissed the top of Gu Tang’s head. “I think it’s very worth it.”
Yu Xiao opened his mouth, but no words came out.
Gu Quan’s mood was complicated too.
The pig he had raised had rooted up the tender cabbage he had raised, and now was standing right in front of him showing off happily.
Only Yu Chongyuan managed to remain relatively calm. After a long moment, he said—
“When you have time, come home for a meal.”
