Chapter 37
Xing Shi had a long dream.
He dreamed of his childhood, back when his father, He Fengbo, was just starting to gain some fame, and his mother, Xing Jiaying, was a dance teacher. They lived in a small two-story house with a garden full of vegetables and flowers. There was even a swing that He Fengbo had built himself.
He could sit on that swing and play for an entire afternoon.
Although his parents were busy, they would take him to the nearby square after work.
The slide was a lot of fun, and so was playing in the sand. However, some playmates didn’t always make sense, which was frustrating.
When Xing Jiaying heard about it, she laughed. “That’s because you’re too clever, Sui Sui. Next time, try thinking of a different approach—it might help you get through to them.”
Xing Shi tilted his head and asked in his childish voice, “What kind of approach?”
Xing Jiaying replied, “That’s for you to figure out. Just don’t argue with them, okay?”
Xing Shi obediently nodded. “Okay. They don’t dare argue with me anyway—they always lose.”
Xing Jiaying and He Fengbo burst out laughing. “No fighting either,” they added.
Xing Shi said, “I don’t fight. They don’t dare to fight me.”
He Fengbo looked at his small frame. “Have you beaten them all before?”
Xing Shi shook his head. “Nope.”
He Fengbo asked, “Then why won’t they fight you?”
Xing Shi bounced on the swing and said cheerfully, “Because I shared the candy Grandma bought me with them. Now they all call me Big Brother.”
Xing Jiaying and He Fengbo couldn’t hold back their laughter.
Besides the small park, his parents also took him to larger parks and amusement parks on weekends. Occasionally, during holidays, they would take him on trips.
Gradually, he started attending kindergarten. On the first day of school, he sat at his desk with tears in his eyes, watching his parents leave. Despite his sadness, he didn’t cry out loud. His teacher praised him for his resilience and even rewarded him with a small toy.
After three difficult days, he adapted and began enjoying himself every day. Soon after, he started primary school.
Primary school wasn’t as easy as kindergarten, but for him, it was a piece of cake. Everyone around him felt like his little brothers.
During the summer break after his first year in primary school, his parents took him to the beach. They went with another family from their neighborhood, who had been close to them for years. Xing Shi often played with their child, and the two families had a strong bond.
The beach was bustling with activity. Xing Shi had just bought two ice cream cones when he saw his younger playmate crying as he returned from the restroom, accompanied by an older boy.
Xing Shi quickly walked over, and the parents from both families, who had been keeping an eye on them, also rushed over.
After some questioning, they learned that a small lizard had darted into the restroom and scared the boy to tears. The older boy, who happened to be in there, had helped him.
Xing Shi said, “It’s just a lizard.”
The younger boy, who was a head taller than Xing Shi and twice his size, wiped his tears. “But it was scary.”
Xing Shi stood on tiptoe to pat the boy’s head comfortingly, then looked at the older boy. The boy was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts, had a gentle expression, and looked very handsome.
Grateful, Xing Shi said, “Thanks for helping my little brother. From now on, we’re brothers too.”
He extended one of the ice cream cones. “Here, this is for you.”
The older boy seemed surprised by Xing Shi’s directness and chuckled. “No need. It was nothing.”
Xing Shi insisted, pushing the ice cream toward him. “Meeting is fate. Don’t be shy—take it.”
Amused, the older boy smiled again. Hearing the parents also encourage him to accept it, he finally reached out and took it. “So, should I call you Big Brother now?”
Xing Shi replied, “If you want to, I don’t mind.”
Seeing the boy laugh again—his smile quite good-looking—Xing Shi added, “You look older than me, so I’ll call you Brother instead. My name’s Xing Shi, but my nickname is Sui Sui. What’s your name, Brother?”
The boy smiled and introduced himself. “I’m Fu Xiuning.”
[Ding Ding]
[Current Favorability: …]
Xing Shi’s consciousness jolted, and the dreamscape quickly blurred.
It felt like he was submerged in black mist, unable to see anything around him. All he could hear was the faint “Ding Ding” sound coming from somewhere unknown.
Instinctively, his awareness chased the sound, floating upward and rising higher.
In the hospital room, the system suddenly heard the notification sound and immediately knew that Fu Xiuning had arrived.
However, it couldn’t understand why the favorability score was increasing when nothing seemed to have happened. With Xing Shi still unconscious and unable to communicate, the system could only be baffled as it faced this unexpected windfall.
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 28]
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 30]
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 32]
Fu Xiuning could hear the sound too. His expression remained calm as he walked inside.
The fact that Xing Shi wasn’t a host had erased one of his deepest concerns. As he approached the hospital room, memories of his interactions with Xing Shi began flooding his mind—all the little moments they’d shared.
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 35]
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 40]
[Ding Ding…]
Fu Xiuning stepped into the room and saw the person lying on the bed.
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 50]
At that moment, Xing Shi’s consciousness finally broke free of the thick fog. He opened his eyes.
Director He was sitting by the bed, busy sending messages. His phone buzzed constantly, and he looked completely swamped.
There were two main issues at hand: pulling strings to find a more authoritative medical expert and exploring metaphysical solutions.
After all, being knocked out by an unidentified burst of air, running a persistent low fever, and remaining unconscious for nearly two days with no medical explanation was definitely unusual.
As he sought recommendations for reputable masters, he caught sight of his son’s hand moving from the corner of his eye. He immediately looked up, delighted. “Sui Sui, you’re awake?”
Hearing this, Xing Shi turned his head. “Dad.”
Director He responded, pressing the call button for the nurse while asking with concern, “How do you feel? Does anything hurt?”
Xing Shi noticed Fu Xiuning sitting down on the other side of the bed. He looked at him briefly before taking stock of himself. “My head hurts.”
Director He said, “You still have a low fever.”
Recalling the events before he lost consciousness, Xing Shi asked, “What happened to me?”
Director He explained Yu Shu’s death and how they’d all been thrown by the blast.
It was now the afternoon of the second day after his transfer to the new hospital. Xing Shi had finally woken up.
While they were talking, the doctor arrived. Director He stood up to give them space.
The doctor carefully questioned Xing Shi about his symptoms but still couldn’t determine the cause of his fever. However, now that he was awake, they could perform some of the tests they hadn’t been able to do earlier.
When bone marrow aspiration was mentioned, Xing Shi immediately refused. “I feel fine.”
The doctor had heard about the mysterious air blast theory. Though initially skeptical, Fu Xiuning’s acknowledgment made it hard not to believe.
Given Fu Xiuning’s track record of bizarre incidents, the fact that even he confirmed it had a metaphysical explanation made the matter undeniably peculiar.
The doctor relented. “Let’s observe for another two days, then.”
Director He escorted the medical staff out, asked about any dietary restrictions, and then returned to his son. “Do you want some water? Are you hungry? What do you want for dinner?”
Xing Shi, feeling groggy and without much appetite, replied, “Some porridge.”
After a moment’s thought, he added, “And an ice cream cone. Brother, do you want one too? We can each have one, and from now on, we’re brothers.”
Fu Xiuning glanced at him, unsure if there was a deeper meaning to his words. He advised, “Wait until your fever goes down before eating something cold.”
Seeing Fu Xiuning’s calm expression, Xing Shi realized he didn’t remember their previous encounter.
This could be because they had only crossed paths briefly, and Fu Xiuning had forgotten over the years. It also explained why Director He hadn’t recognized Fu Xiuning at the airport—the memory had simply faded with time.
Another reason was more thought-provoking.
The original memories and information about Xing Shi as the host contained no mention of this encounter. Given that his mission was to pursue Fu Xiuning, such a significant past event was something the system shouldn’t have missed.
Whether Fu Xiuning and Director He had truly forgotten or not, at the very least, Xing Shi’s memories seemed to have been tampered with.
Obediently, Xing Shi said, “Okay,” and got out of bed to freshen up. When he returned, he lazily leaned against the headboard and asked, “What’s the situation with Yu Shu?”
Fu Xiuning handed him a glass of water and replied, “The incident caused a huge stir, and the police are taking it very seriously. They should be releasing a statement soon. Two officers have come to Z City to investigate Yu Shu’s background and are waiting for you to wake up so they can ask about what happened that day. Should I have them come by tomorrow morning?”
Xing Shi shook his head. “No need. Have them come now.”
Fu Xiuning nodded and sent a message to the police. Following protocol, he asked Xing Shi about the mysterious air blast.
Xing Shi said, “I don’t know. It just exploded out of nowhere. I’m as confused as anyone. Did the police find anything? What did Feng Zifan and the others say?”
Director He interjected, “They said it was a ghost.”
Xing Shi stifled a laugh and put on a serious expression. “It might really be one.”
Director He’s face grew solemn.
After all, Xing Shi was the only one who’d fallen into a fevered coma. Considering the rumors that Yu Shu and Xing Shi had argued that night, it was hard not to take it seriously.
He asked, “Should I go find a master?”
Xing Shi replied, “Let’s wait and observe first. If my fever subsides, that’ll prove there’s nothing wrong.”
This time, his unconsciousness was caused by the backlash of energy flowing into him. The low fever was likely a side effect of his magic core awakening.
His magic core was a high-level energy body that could autonomously process the chaotic energy flow within it, digesting and reabsorbing it. A few days of rest would suffice for recovery.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, his fever should be gone by tomorrow or the day after.
Director He decided to compromise. “Then I’ll get you a talisman for safety.”
But he was a step too late.
Bei Jinrong and the others, having received Xing Shi’s message that he was safe, banded together to visit him at the hospital, bringing a mountain of items with them.
“Here, take this protective talisman. We went to the temple early this morning to get it. And this red thread, some prayer beads, a cinnabar bracelet, and a pendant. You should also buy some red underwear to wear… Oh, right, the most important thing is this. A master my family knows gave me this protective charm. It’s a completely different system from the temple one. I got one for each of you. There’s also this peachwood sword—make sure you keep it.”
Most of their families had consulted masters, and they’d bought various items from the temple. Whether or not they’d be effective, they brought everything they could, even including a crucifix.
When the two police officers entered the room, they were greeted by a bed full of metaphysical items. After a few seconds of silence, they sat down and began their questioning.
Xing Shi told them everything he knew and admitted that he and Yu Shu had fought, though not to any extreme.
After asking about the incident, the officers wished him a speedy recovery and took their leave.
Still running a low fever, Xing Shi felt drained after dealing with both the police and his friends.
Bei Jinrong and the others didn’t want to disturb him further. They agreed to have a meal together after his discharge and left.
Xing Shi lay back in bed, planning to take a nap.
Closing his eyes, he called out to his system. “You’ve been unusually quiet today.”
The system had been holding back a lot of things it wanted to say, but remembering how talking with Xing Shi while he was sick only made him feel worse, it had restrained itself.
Now hearing him call, it explained its earlier silence and kindly suggested, “If you’re feeling unwell, get some rest first. We can talk after you wake up.”
Xing Shi did feel dizzy, but he asked about the situation anyway. “Yu Shu’s death—what’s the reaction from the other systems? They’ve probably noticed me by now, right?”
The system immediately perked up. “I don’t know if they’ve investigated this, but they haven’t mentioned you in the group chat. That’s because Yu Shu’s system, Top Draw, still hasn’t gone offline. They all think Yu Shu wasn’t a host.”
Xing Shi was a bit surprised. He pondered for a few seconds before asking, “It detonated its energy. Does it have no energy left to return?”
The system replied, “It was just trying to get revenge on you. It couldn’t have been so foolish as to blow up all its energy. There’s still some locked away for its return protocol.”
Xing Shi thought back to the chaos of that moment. For Top Draw to have survived, it must have reacted quickly.
He asked, “Has it said anything in the group chat over the past two days?”
The system answered, “No, not a word.”
Feeling lightheaded, Xing Shi decided to set the matter aside for now. “Alright, I’m going to sleep for a bit.”
The system said, “Rest well.”
Fu Xiuning, sitting nearby and playing on his phone, overheard their conversation. After Xing Shi fell silent, Fu Xiuning made a few guesses in his mind, then got up to replace Xing Shi’s fever patch.
Hearing the movement, Xing Shi knew it was Fu Xiuning but didn’t open his eyes. Soon, he drifted off into a deep sleep.
He woke up around dinnertime, feeling slightly better. Not wanting to stay in bed, he got up and went to the living room.
Director He and his wife, Xing Xuefei, were chatting quietly. Hearing him approach, Xing Xuefei looked up. “Awake? Xiuning went out to get porridge. He’ll be back soon.”
Through his system’s reminder, Xing Shi knew her identity. He greeted her, “Auntie, why are you here too?”
“Something this serious happened—how could I not come?” Xing Xuefei walked over and pressed the back of her hand to his forehead. “You still feel a little warm. Let me get the thermometer to check.”
Xing Shi nodded obediently and sat on the sofa.
Just as his temperature was being checked, Fu Xiuning and his assistant returned with dinner.
Seeing the thermometer in Xing Shi’s hand, Fu Xiuning asked, “Still feverish?”
Xing Shi replied, “37.4. Almost there.”
Fu Xiuning noticed his relaxed expression and understood that Xing Shi’s words were partly to reassure him. Feeling slightly relieved, he responded with a soft “Hmm.”
The assistant stayed, and the five of them gathered around the table for dinner.
Xing Shi had porridge, while the others ate stir-fried dishes.
As he eyed the plate of spicy boiled pork slices across from him, Xing Shi couldn’t resist and reached out with his chopsticks. Before he could grab a piece, Fu Xiuning stopped him. Xing Shi turned his head and blinked at him. “I only have a fever. There’s nothing wrong with my body.”
Director He countered, “A fever means something’s wrong with your body.”
Xing Xuefei added, “That’s too spicy. Wait until you’re better.”
They had placed the spicy dish near Fu Xiuning for convenience, but after their comments, Director He replaced it with a milder dish to avoid tempting Xing Shi further.
Xing Shi sipped his porridge and shot a silent, accusatory glance at Fu Xiuning.
Fu Xiuning, noticing the look, picked up a piece of green vegetable and placed it in Xing Shi’s bowl. Xing Shi stabbed it with his spoon, burying it under the porridge. Fu Xiuning’s lips twitched in a barely noticeable smile.
[Ding Ding] [Current Favorability: 51]
Xing Shi: “?”
Thinking he’d misheard, he called out to the system. “What’s the score?”
The system responded cheerfully. “51~”
Xing Shi asked, “Is your favorability program broken?”
The system said, “Nope, I checked. It’s definitely 51~”
Xing Shi couldn’t help but glance at Fu Xiuning, puzzled.
Fu Xiuning had always liked his looks and appreciated his personality, even back when his favorability score was negative.
After discovering that Xing Shi was the original host, any misgivings Fu Xiuning had vanished, and the score turned positive.
Their daily interactions made it clear that Fu Xiuning cared for him, but a score in the 20s was far from suggesting romantic feelings.
At its core, this was because Xing Shi was a host chosen by the main system. Even if he had returned to this world through some agreement with the main system, Fu Xiuning wouldn’t easily fall for someone so unusual.
So why had the score suddenly jumped so much?
This wasn’t an exam where 60 marked a passing grade. With favorability capped at 100, surpassing 50 was already considered entering the realm of romantic interest—at least for normal people.
For Fu Xiuning, who had seen the darkest sides of human nature and carried an inherently cold demeanor, even a score of 50 was remarkably rare. His 50 was worth far more than an ordinary person’s.
Could it be that Fu Xiuning, while waiting for him to wake up, had experienced some epiphany about his feelings? Maybe he’d thought, Even if you’re connected to the main system, I don’t care. I’ll take the gamble, even if it costs me my life, and then added points?
Xing Shi was thunderstruck by the idea and quickly took another sip of porridge to calm himself.
No way, he thought.
Fu Xiuning was definitely not that type of love-struck fool.
The system, noticing his silence, asked, “Don’t you have anything to say about this?”
Xing Shi replied seriously, “It must be because my charm is too great.”
The system agreed. “Absolutely!”
Xing Shi added, “He cares about me. He can’t live without me.”
The system said, “Exactly!”
Xing Shi teased, “Maybe he saw a sad scene from some life-or-death drama, got scared, and thought, ‘How could I live without you?’ on his way to the hospital. That’s why he added points.”
Fu Xiuning: “…”
The system wanted to agree but felt it was unlikely. Instead, it asked, “He added points for you at lunchtime. Want me to check what he was doing then?”
Xing Shi glanced at Fu Xiuning, who looked perfectly calm, and said, “Sure, go ahead.”
The system quickly investigated. “He had lunch with Feng Zifan, but I don’t know what they talked about.”
Xing Shi couldn’t guess what the two might have discussed either. Offhandedly, he said, “Feng Zifan is sharp. Maybe he said something nice about me, and one of those comments made Fu Xiuning love me even more.”
The system thought about it and found the explanation reasonable. “You’re right. Remember, Fu Xiuning admitted recently that he has someone he likes. And when you wanted to talk to Yu Shu, he stopped you. It’s clear he really cares about you. After seeing you hurt because of Yu Shu, he might feel guilty for not stopping you in time. Add a few good words from Feng Zifan, and it’s only natural his feelings deepened.”
It glanced at the favorability score and grew excited. “You can exchange a lot of things with this score now. Want to use it?”
Xing Shi refused without hesitation.
The main system had been targeting Fu Xiuning for years, aiming to convert favorability points into resources. Using them to redeem items would mean engaging in a transaction, likely opening an energy channel in the process.
There was no way Xing Shi would touch those points.
The system said, “The shop has so many amazing items. Aren’t you even a little curious?”
Xing Shi said, “I don’t need it for now. Stop talking—my head hurts.”
The system tactfully went silent.
Just as dinner ended, more visitors arrived: Feng Zifan and Yu Yi, who had received word of Xing Shi’s condition.
Since they had training and couldn’t visit freely, they rushed over during their evening break.
Xing Shi was still in the living room and greeted them with a smile. “It’s just a low fever. I already said there’s no need to make a special trip. Doesn’t it feel rushed?”
Feng Zifan smiled helplessly. If it were just an ordinary low fever, he wouldn’t have come. But given the metaphysical nature of the incident, he had to see Xing Shi with his own eyes.
He said, “We were worried about you. Xiao Yi was so anxious he couldn’t even eat, so we decided to come.”
Xing Shi looked over at Yu Yi.
Yu Yi gazed at him with a sense of reliance, quickly running over to sit beside him. Spotting Fu Xiuning nearby, he politely greeted, “Hello.”
Fu Xiuning glanced at him.
These hosts who had crossed over all seemed genetically programmed to pursue him. Even without a system, they couldn’t help but gravitate toward him.
Unlike Yu Shu, who had been extreme and aggressive, Yu Yi was far more cautious. Without system support, he was entirely in the dark. As a trainee with no backing or resources, Yu Yi had limited himself to subtly trying to establish a presence before Fu Xiuning, avoiding being overly forward.
But self-restraint could only go so far. After the recent trip, where they’d spent more time together, Fu Xiuning had begun to notice something was off.
Calmly, he responded with a quiet “Hmm.”
Director He had met Yu Yi the previous night. Seeing him visit again today, he smiled and pushed the fruit platter toward them while inviting Feng Zifan to help himself.
Feng Zifan had been finding Director He increasingly familiar. Now that the man spoke to him, Feng Zifan tentatively addressed him, “Director He?”
Director He smiled. “That’s me. I’m Sui Sui’s father.”
Feng Zifan was stunned. Back in S City, he had guessed Xing Shi’s relationship with Qi Changyi when he heard him call Xing Shi by his nickname. Adding Director He to the mix only deepened the mystery. He couldn’t help but glance at Xing Shi. Dude, what were you thinking, becoming a trainee?
Xing Shi lowered his head and nibbled on some fruit, pretending not to see the meaning in Feng Zifan’s eyes.
Since Feng Zifan and Yu Yi had evening training, they left after confirming Xing Shi was fine.
Xing Shi walked them to the door and then turned his efforts toward persuading Director He and the others to leave as well.
The suite only had two bedrooms. Out of concern for Xing Shi’s condition, Director He had moved a single bed into the room and stayed the night. Now that Xing Shi was awake, there was no need to trouble everyone further.
Director He had Xing Shi check his temperature again, saw it had dropped slightly, and didn’t insist on staying. With the assistant in charge of driving, they all left together.
The hospital room quieted, leaving only Xing Shi and Fu Xiuning.
Fu Xiuning asked, “Aren’t you going back to bed?”
Xing Shi replied, “I am, but stay and chat with me for a bit.”
Fu Xiuning accompanied him back to the bedroom. After Xing Shi climbed into bed, Fu Xiuning sat in the chair beside him and asked, “What do you want to talk about?”
Xing Shi looked at him. “Tell me what happened while I was unconscious. Anything interesting?”
Fu Xiuning could guess what Xing Shi was hinting at and said, “Last night, we were all getting ready for bed when Yu Yi suddenly came over alone, saying he was worried about you.”
Xing Shi raised an eyebrow.
Fu Xiuning continued, “Your cousin told me he doesn’t think Yu Yi actually likes him. He told me to remind you to keep an eye on him.”
The system had overheard the conversation and chimed in, “Right. Could it be that Yu Yi found out about your relationship with Qi Changyi and is trying to get close to you on purpose?”
Xing Shi said, “Impossible. Check his phone. He genuinely likes Qi Changyi.”
The system obediently checked and confirmed, “He really is a fan of Qi Changyi.”
Xing Shi said, “So it’s probably just that Xiao Yi is too shy to express himself properly, and Qi Changyi misunderstood.”
The system agreed. “That makes sense.”
Xing Shi thought back to the barbecue by the beach and how Yu Yi had looked at them. He asked Fu Xiuning, “Anything else worth gossiping about?”
Fu Xiuning knew Xing Shi was paying attention now and asked, “What’s your relationship with him? I’m starting to think… he might have a crush on me.”
Xing Shi’s heart skipped a beat. “Really?”
The system exclaimed, “…What?!”
Fu Xiuning said, “It seems like it. I’m just not sure when it started. Do you think he saw me the day we were split into groups for the first time?”
In that instant, Xing Shi connected the dots, and everything clicked into place.
Yu Yi had been dazed after his fall during the group split, unable to recall anything. During the school anniversary rehearsal, when everyone else was backstage, Yu Yi had specifically come looking for him. When they trended online, and the company organized a photo shoot, Fu Xiuning had come to watch, and Yu Yi had been the only one to hover around him. And during the Gu Zheng incident, they had mentioned holding back at the last second, yet Yu Yi still collided with him.
So, Yu Yi was the host?
Realizing that Fu Xiuning had only just pieced this together and had suddenly raised Xing Shi’s favorability score, Xing Shi immediately understood.
He wasn’t the host. The real host was Yu Yi.
He could almost reconstruct Yu Yi’s journey.
Imagine suddenly crossing into a new world where everything was unfamiliar but not wanting to arouse suspicion. What would you do?
Answer: Fake amnesia.
By pretending to fall and hitting his head, Yu Yi could let those around him fill in the blanks. He could then piece together the context based on their explanations. His poor test performance, resulting from his supposed memory loss, had landed him in Xing Shi’s group.
Few people knew Yu Yi, who had been pre-selected as a trainee. In a company full of strangers, even if he acted odd, no one would suspect anything. With the original host’s phone in hand, he could maintain a convincing persona as a Qi Changyi fan.
However, Xing Shi noted, aside from the fall, Yu Yi hadn’t done anything else that might expose memory gaps. He had even managed to unlock the original host’s phone, maintaining his cover seamlessly. This host was exceptionally clever.
Xing Shi suddenly thought of the missing Top Draw.
Without a system or host, and with the same origin energy linking systems and hosts, could Top Draw have gone to find Yu Yi?
Meanwhile, Yu Yi and Feng Zifan were in a taxi heading back to the company.
Looking out at the scenery, Yu Yi thought about how Xing Shi would soon be discharged. Once that happened, it would be even harder for him to see Fu Xiuning. He anxiously clenched his fingers.
Suddenly, he heard a faint electrical crackle.
Then, a cold male voice spoke: “Host… so you’re the host? Where’s your system?”
Yu Yi’s heart jumped. He turned sharply to look at Feng Zifan beside him.
Sensing his gaze, Feng Zifan asked, “What’s wrong?”
Seeing no reaction from Feng Zifan that indicated he’d heard the voice, Yu Yi’s eyes lit up. “I just saw someone in a mascot costume by the roadside. It looked great!”
Feng Zifan laughed and patted his head.
Yu Yi turned his attention back inward as the voice said, “Others can’t perceive my presence. You can talk to me directly in your mind.”
Yu Yi asked, “Who are you?”
The voice replied, “I’m System 66. You’re the host, but why don’t you have a system? Are you completely in the dark?”
Yu Yi, recalling stories from related novels, felt a natural attraction to this situation and didn’t doubt it. “I just found out.”
Top Draw, now known as System 66, briefly explained the concept of strategies and asked, “I saw you at the beach. You know Fu Xiuning, right?”
Yu Yi said, “Yes.”
System 66 said, “I’m out of energy and can’t bind to you or help you. You need to spend more time around Fu Xiuning.”
Yu Yi said, “I will.”
System 66, aware that hosts were always drawn to Fu Xiuning but that not everyone chose the romantic route, asked, “What do you think of him?”
Yu Yi said, “Love at first sight.”
System 66: “…”
Yu Yi added, “But it seems like he likes Xing Shi. That’s a bit tricky. I don’t want to give up. Do you have any advice?”
System 66 was momentarily speechless: “…”
It sighed inwardly. Born in the wrong time, and yet another host has gone down the romance route.
system 66: why??! WHYYY!!!??!!
