Generator

Chapter 90: Generator

The family sat around the table. Most of the dishes were prepared by Gu Jia—simple but tasty.

As they ate, Chu Ding asked, “Why did you buy another car? What do you need two for?”

His mindset was old-fashioned: save for a rainy day. He’d been against all the lavish spending when Chu Jinghui got married, bought a house, and a car.

Chu Feng said nonchalantly, “It’s just two cars. The real rich guys change cars like changing clothes—their garages are lined with luxury cars.”

Chu Hongzhi gave him a cool glance. “You’re not one of those rich guys.”

He had a comfortable government job—stable pay, easy work, and prestige. Villagers admired him, and he liked to lecture younger people with authority.

But then Chu Feng won 3 million, stealing his thunder overnight. Seeing him buy a luxury car outright only made it worse.

Chu Feng nodded. “True. That’s why I only have two. The real rich have ten or twenty.”

“You can’t become rich on just three million,” said Yan Ping sarcastically.

Chu Feng nodded. “Exactly. Which is why I need to buy a few more lottery tickets—maybe I’ll win thirty million next.”

Yan Ping sneered. “You wish.”

She remembered how Chu Jinghui had wasted money on lottery tickets and felt another pang of regret.

Gu Jia glared at Chu Feng. “You already won once—don’t push your luck.”

Chu Feng leaned his head on his hand. “You never know! Maybe I’ve got more luck coming my way.”

Yan Ping snorted. “Getting lucky once doesn’t mean you’ll always be lucky. You’d better stay grounded. Remember that official—Director Wu? He misused public funds to buy lottery tickets and ended up in prison.”

Chu Feng: …

Chu Hongzhi said, “Xiao Feng, your aunt’s words may sound harsh, but they’re for your own good.”

Chu Feng said lightly, “Is that so? Then I should thank Auntie for her concern.”

The Mid-Autumn family dinner was full of tension. Chu Feng barely ate before excusing himself.

Yan Ping originally wanted to borrow money from Chu Feng, but he brushed her off, saying he’d spent it all.

Hongzhi, always haughty, couldn’t bring himself to ask for money, and just watched Chu Feng leave.

Yan Ping grumbled to Chu Ding, “Dad, Chu Feng only cares about that old man from the Lin family. He doesn’t care about you at all.”

Chu Ding frowned. “Let him be.”

“He’s a Chu, not a Lin. You’re just going to let him keep turning his back on this family?”

Chu Ding could feel that Chu Feng was pulling away from them. It bothered him, but he hadn’t done much for this grandson over the years—there was no undoing that now.

He wasn’t unwilling to speak up—he just felt it wouldn’t change anything.

Chu Feng drove back to the villa.

He found Illya sitting cross-legged on the sofa, watching TV.

When Chu Feng saw what was playing on the big screen, he was shocked.

“You… What are you watching?”

Illya hugged his knees, resting his chin on them, and looked at Chu Feng calmly. “Customer service said it’s a love action movie.”

Chu Feng held his forehead. “You probably had to pay for that, right?”

Illya nodded. “Yeah.”

“You figured out how to pay?”

Apparently, Chu Feng had underestimated Illya’s learning speed.

Illya nodded again. “Customer service taught me. She asked if I was a minor—I said no. She didn’t seem to believe me, though.”

Chu Feng: “…They still processed the payment even though they didn’t believe you? These customer service reps are heartless—just casually giving minors access to adult channels.”

Illya stared at the video, eyes wide with surprise and fascination.

Looking at Illya’s expression, Chu Feng felt like he wasn’t watching some adult film at all—it looked more like he was watching an educational science documentary.

Chu Feng glanced at the screen, bit his lip, and was left speechless.

Hugging his knees and tilting his head, Illya asked with confusion, “Is it normal here for one woman to sleep with multiple men?”

Chu Feng: “…That’s not typical around here—this is… an exception!”

These customer service folks really had no conscience. If they had to show adult films, couldn’t they at least show something more artistic? This was just eye-burning trash.

“I heard that in the Lionfolk tribe, one woman sleeps with multiple men. But that way, no one really knows whose child it is,” Illya added.

Chu Feng: “…” Why can Illya talk about this kind of topic like it’s some academic discussion?

Illya sighed. “I heard Lionfolk women have large appetites. One male can’t satisfy them. Since there are more men than women in the tribe, this kind of distribution is quite fair.”

Chu Feng: “…Is that so?”

“The Dwarves aren’t like that. Even though they also have more men than women, they practice monogamy. That way, they can know exactly whose child it is… but it does mean a lot of dwarves remain single.”

Chu Feng: “…”

Illya looked at the woman on the screen panting heavily and said, “She looks like she’s really struggling.”

Chu Feng: “…Well, handling that many at once is exhausting.”

Chu Feng turned off the TV, forced a smile, and said, “It’s late—let’s get to bed.”

Illya looked at him and asked, “Are we sleeping together?”

Chu Feng’s face turned red. Is Illya inviting me? We’ve already slept together once—it wouldn’t make sense to be shy about it now.

He suddenly recalled Illya’s previous invitation to shower together. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Can’t miss it again. I can’t always let him be the one to take the initiative!

“Sure!” Chu Feng agreed.

Illya tilted his head and said, “By the way, your bed here is really big and pretty.”

Chu Feng thought: The bed doesn’t matter—what matters is the person.

The two lay down together and soon rolled into each other’s arms. Chu Feng felt that Illya seemed much more relaxed this time. Maybe it was the adult film’s influence.

Last time, Illya had been half-dazed when it happened. This time, he was fully conscious and clearly aware of what was going on, which made him flush all over with heat, his body glowing red.

Already stunning, Illya looked even more alluring like this—completely bewitching. Chu Feng was mesmerized.

They stayed in the modern world for three days. When they returned to the castle, they brought along a large generator.

Illya looked at Chu Feng and asked, “Is the portal bigger again this time?”

Chu Feng nodded. “Yeah.” He had worried there wouldn’t be enough space and that the generator might get damaged, so he hadn’t brought anything else. But now it looked like there was plenty of room.

“You’re back, Boss!” Chui Shi greeted them warmly as they appeared inside the castle.

Chu Feng nodded. Chui Shi glanced curiously at the large tub of ice cream Illya was holding.

“What’s that?” he asked.

Illya hugged the tub tightly. “It’s mine.”

Chui Shi: “…” He was just asking. No way he’d dare fight the boss’s ‘wife’ over food.

Chu Feng looked helplessly at the giant tub of Häagen-Dazs in Illya’s arms. He had strongly objected to bringing it, but Illya refused to let go, and Chu Feng couldn’t win the argument.

He shook his head. At first, he thought Illya was mature beyond his years—battle-hardened at such a young age. But now he realized that Illya still had a childlike side—greedy, stubborn, and spoiled.

Chui Shi’s eyes drifted to the massive generator beside them. “Boss, what’s this?”

Chu Feng smiled. “A generator.”

It had cost him eight million yuan and had been on backorder for a while.

With this generator, he could finally bring over fridges, air conditioners, and other appliances. It was his first real step in turning the castle into something more modern.

Chui Shi looked confused. “A generator? What’s it for?”

“To generate electricity.”

Chui Shi scratched his head and muttered, “Doesn’t seem very useful…”

He studied the generator—it couldn’t be eaten, worn, or ridden. What was the point?

Chu Feng rolled his eyes. Highland tribe folk clearly have no appreciation for technology. If it were a dwarf here instead, they’d be thrilled.

He turned to Chui Shi and asked, “Nothing happened while we were gone, right?”

Chui Shi shook his head. “Nothing major. Construction’s going well. Those humans you brought are working now too.”

Chu Feng blinked. “Oh, right! How are they doing?”

Last time, he’d left them to Shaya’s care before heading to the other world with Illya. It had been days—he hoped they hadn’t starved to death or something.

“They’re fine. Working and eating with us,” Chui Shi said.

Chu Feng nodded. “Good.”

“That half-demon, Molka, is really strong—does good work,” Chui Shi added.

He had taken a liking to Molka, partly because of his strength and partly because his big appetite reminded him of his younger brother.

Chu Feng: “…”

“August is decent too, though a bit average. Hawk and Eric are no good. Too weak for labor. Boss, next time you buy people, get sturdy ones—what’s the point of buying old folks and kids?”

Chu Feng: “…”
He had bought them for management roles, not for construction work.

Chu Feng rested his chin on his hand and said, “Call all of them over.”

Chui Shi nodded. “Alright.”
