Chapter 82: Sleep?
After leaving the dealership, Chu Feng headed to the supermarket.
The place was bustling with people, but Chu Feng felt an inexplicable emptiness.
He unconsciously smiled as he recalled shopping with Illya before. He had found everything novel, enjoying the experience of buying things with childlike delight.
Chu Feng used to scoff at the story of King You of Zhou lighting the beacon towers just to amuse Bao Si, thinking it foolish. But now, thinking of Illya, he somewhat understood—it’s not so crazy to do irrational things for someone you love.
Spending money for someone you care about? It actually felt like happiness—granted, if you had the money.
He wandered the supermarket without much to buy, eventually picking up a sweet cone—ice cream he used to buy for Illya. The familiar taste gave him the illusion he was right beside him.
He glanced at the lightning-shaped mark on his wrist and frowned.
It was fading quickly. By evening, he estimated he’d be able to travel again.
After bringing Illya to his world last time, his ability seemed to have evolved. His control over the timing of his dimensional travel had significantly improved.
Now he could extend or shorten his stay in a world with much greater ease.
Maybe because he was worried about Illya, his subconscious was urging him back. That might explain why the “energy” drained so quickly this time.
Chu Feng thought to himself: after their relationship progressed, Illya also developed a lightning mark. Maybe his ability had affected him too—subtly, in ways he hadn’t noticed yet.
He shook his head. “He went off to rescue someone… I hope he’s okay.”
He had taken a gun crafted by the dwarves—it should offer good protection.

At School
“Chu Feng bought a BMW SUV?” Lin Yuan said.
Zhou Lingling nodded. “Yes, I saw it myself. He paid in full.”
Lin Yuan frowned. “He bought a house and now a car—how does he still have money?”
She thought Chu Feng was getting carried away. Buying an 800,000-yuan luxury car? What a way to tempt fate.
She had been hoping to find a boyfriend who drove a nice car—yet her own cousin, whom she’d always looked down on, was now the one driving a luxury vehicle.
Zhou Lingling shrugged. “No idea.”
Lin Yuan frowned. “At this rate, 3 million won’t last him long.”
Zhou Lingling nodded. “Does he even work? Maintaining a luxury car isn’t cheap—the insurance and upkeep alone are pricey.”
Lin Yuan waved her hand. “He doesn’t have a job! He used to deliver packages. He quit after winning the lottery.”
She had wanted to squeeze some money out of Chu Feng herself, but with the way he was spending, the money might be gone before she even had the chance.
Zhou Lingling tilted her head. “Still, that car really is beautiful—definitely worth the price.”
Lin Yuan’s eyes lit up, wondering if she could borrow that 800,000-yuan car sometime…

At Lin Zhihao’s House
As soon as Lin Zhihao got home, his mother grabbed him.
“Mom, what’s going on?”
“Lin Yuan said Chu Feng bought a luxury car worth nearly a million!”
Lin Zhihao nodded. “Yeah, that’s a high-end car.”
In the village, cars were a status symbol. A million-yuan car would be big news if driven into town.
His mother gave him a knock on the head. “Is that your reaction? Why would he buy such an expensive car?”
Zhihao thought about how his online shop had just sold a 2.8 million yuan wood carving today. Compared to that, Chu Feng buying a 1-million-yuan car was nothing. Money’s meant to be spent, after all.
With assets in the tens of millions, Chu Feng driving a 200,000-yuan car wouldn’t match his status at all. Even a 1-million-yuan car was modest—he could easily afford one worth three or even ten million.
Zhihao shrugged. “If you’ve got money, you should enjoy it. It’s not like he borrowed money to do it. Let him buy it.”
His mother shook her head. “He’s spending like this—3 million won’t last!”
“People who know how to spend money know how to make it too. Don’t worry, Mom—if he spends it all, he’ll just make more.”
Zhihao saw the concern on her face and remembered how he’d once worried about his cousin acting recklessly. But time had proven his worries completely unnecessary.
His mother frowned. “Make more? How? Is he going to win the lottery again?”
Zhihao paused. “Well… that is one way.” He grinned. “But Mom, why worry? We don’t even have a house or a car. Worrying about someone who’s already got both? That’s just pointless.”
His mother paused, then nodded. “You’re right.”
Zhihao tilted his head and began counting on his fingers. With his 20% cut from the online shop’s booming business, he might not be as rich as Chu Feng, but at this rate, buying his own luxury car wasn’t far off either.
Lin’s Mother said: “A car worth more than 800,000 yuan! Not many in our village can compare. If he drove it back here, it’d really be something to show off.”
Lin Zhihao nodded, a bit wistful. “Yeah! I wonder when I’ll be able to buy a BMW. I don’t even need such an expensive one—just a 3 Series for a little over 300,000 would be enough.”
Lin’s Mother rolled her eyes. “You? Son, let’s be realistic. A car for 70,000 to 80,000 is more your range. You buy one of those expensive ones, and you won’t even be able to afford the gas. What’s the point?”
Lin Zhihao looked at his mother and suddenly felt a deeper understanding of how Chu Feng felt…

Chu Feng arrived at Crescent Village with a bunch of clothes and food.
“Brother Feng,” Gray greeted him.
Chu Feng glanced around. “Has your brother come back yet?”
Gray shook his head. “Not yet, but he should be back soon.”
Chu Feng nodded. “Good.”
Gray said cheerfully: “Brother Feng, since my brother’s not back, I’ll sleep with you tonight.”
Chu Feng: “…What nonsense are you spouting? You’re not a kid anymore, why do you still need someone to sleep with?”
Gray rolled his eyes. “You’re not exactly young either, yet you sleep with my brother.”
Chu Feng: …That wasn’t because he was scared! When he first arrived, there wasn’t anywhere else to sleep, so he had to share a bed with Illya. Things… just evolved from there.
“Go on, get out of here,” Chu Feng muttered.
Gray: …
Suddenly, Duoduo ran over, hugged Chu Feng’s leg, and whimpered, “Boss Feng!”
Chu Feng: “Duoduo, what are you doing!?”
He instantly felt uneasy. The last time, this rabbit declared out loud that he wanted to sleep with him. Now, just seeing him made him nervous.
Duoduo said pitifully: “Boss Feng, my dad won’t let me sleep with you. He even scolded me!”
Chu Feng: …Your dad is right. You should listen to him.
At least someone in this village had some sense. Not everyone was throwing themselves at him just because he could cross worlds.
Duoduo sulked and complained: “My dad is so annoying! I want to go to your world. I want delicious food. I don’t like him anymore.”
Chu Feng: …Being a father isn’t easy.
Hands on hips, Chu Feng declared righteously: “Duoduo, you need to listen to your father. I have absolutely no interest in sleeping with you.”
Duoduo pouted. “Why not? Winter is coming. I can transform into a rabbit—warm and fluffy. Super comfy to sleep with! Everyone likes sleeping with me.”
Chu Feng: …That does sound tempting.
“I have blankets. I don’t need a rabbit.”
Duoduo glared angrily. “Brother Feng, you’re so annoying!”
Chu Feng: …Kids are noisy when they throw tantrums.
Duoduo muttered sadly: “While you were gone, lots of people in the village said they wanted to sleep with you. If you don’t want me, does that mean you want to sleep with someone else?”
Chu Feng: …Too many people. Some even suggested taking numbers.
Lately, so many people had been working for him in the castle district that mealtimes had become chaotic. So, Chu Feng gave everyone numbered tokens for order and fairness.
But now… sleep rotation numbers?
Chu Feng: “Do I need to give out numbers just to sleep now?”
This is getting out of hand! He didn’t ask for this!
Once upon a time, his aunt used to say he’d die a lonely bachelor. Look at him now—practically swarmed.
Gray nudged him. “Brother Feng, want to sleep with Sterling?”
Chu Feng: …That tiger beastman? Why are we bringing him into this!?
Gray grinned. “Sterling can turn into a tiger in winter—his belly’s warm and he’s huge. Super comfy to sleep on.”
Chu Feng: …No way. He’d rather use more blankets than risk sleeping with a dangerous tiger.
“I’ll pass.”
Gray nodded. “True, you’re scared of tigers. Probably don’t have the guts to sleep with Sterling.”
Chu Feng: …
Gray added slyly: “Sleeping with Duoduo in winter is seriously comfy. He’s like a little furnace.”
Duoduo perked up, puffing out his chest proudly. “Exactly!”
Chu Feng: …Was Gray acting as his promoter now? This kid didn’t even realize what he was saying. Was he seriously trying to help a rabbit steal his brother’s man?
Where the hell is Illya? He needs to get back here and rein in this dumb kid. If he doesn’t return soon, this kid’s going to cause chaos.
