Chapter 74: Supermarket Shopping
After leaving the restaurant, the waitresses started chattering.
“He didn’t ask for a receipt?”
“Nope.”
“And didn’t even take leftovers home!”
“Geez… Rich people! Over 5,000 for a meal.”
“Just the two of them, and they barely touched a bunch of dishes.”
After leaving the restaurant, Chu Feng took Illya to a supermarket.
Illya was startled by the escalator that moved on its own and found everything around him fascinating.
He followed Chu Feng around, wandering through the store with joy. Everything in the modern world felt mysterious to him.
Chu Feng acted like a walking wallet, paying for everything Illya picked. Illya ended up pushing two shopping carts full of snacks, drawing curious glances from people around them.
Looking stunning to begin with and pushing two overflowing carts, Illya naturally drew attention.
Noticing all the people sneaking peeks at him, Illya instinctively grabbed onto Chu Feng’s arm.
Though he had experience blending into human society in the other world, he always kept a low profile there. But here, it seemed impossible to stay unnoticed.
Faced with this completely unfamiliar world, Illya couldn’t help feeling a little lost.

Duoduo asked in confusion, “Why would that be a problem? There’s so much fun and delicious food on the other side of the sea.”
“The rabbit died.”
Duoduo snapped, “You’re the one who’s dead.”

Gray explained helplessly that last time, when Chu Feng brought the rabbit over to the sea side, the rabbit died. Duoduo, being half-rabbit, didn’t eat rabbit meat—but didn’t oppose others in the village eating it. They just couldn’t do it in front of him.
“Your brother is a gifted one. He’s much stronger than a rabbit. He’ll be fine,” Pyne said.
Pyne nodded in agreement, “Yeah! Maybe your brother is living it up on the other side of the sea.”
Luo Ao wiped his mouth and said, “There’s so much tasty food over there. I want cake.”
“I want glutinous rice balls.”
“I want barbecue.”

All the kids started chattering excitedly, their discussion getting more and more enthusiastic.
Gray: … “All they care about is eating. I gathered them to help come up with a plan, but these fools only know how to talk about food.”
Hearing the discussion, Gray’s stomach started growling.
“Gray, are you hungry?” Duoduo asked.
Gray’s face turned red. “No.”
Duoduo said righteously, “Lies! I clearly heard your stomach growl.”
Gray: … “I really want to see what the sea side is like.”
“But the rabbit died!”
“Yeah, true…”

The news that Illya and Chu Feng had gone missing quickly spread.
The dwarves and highlanders shared similar guesses—they believed the two had been teleported to the sea side. Many people envied Illya’s opportunity. However, the story about the rabbit’s death spread as well, and people started to worry about Illya’s safety.
Even so, most still believed in Illya’s capabilities and felt he would be fine—probably enjoying the best food and drink on the sea side.

Illya spent the whole day out shopping with Chu Feng and didn’t return to the villa until evening. After such a fun outing, he still felt a bit unsatisfied.
Wandering around the house, Illya accidentally turned on the TV. After seeing so many novel things outside that day, he wasn’t particularly surprised by this new curiosity.
The TV was playing a martial arts drama where a man and a woman were battling fiercely.
The fight between the two experts made the earth shake and the heavens tremble.
Illya stared at the screen wide-eyed. “Amazing! Are these people your ability users? Combat-types?”
In his world, ability users are generally categorized into combat and support types. Support-type users are much more common, while combat-types are rare and highly sought after, especially by human nobles as bodyguards.
Chu Feng: …
He shook his head. “No, they’re actors.”
Illya turned to him and said, “Your actors are incredible!”
Chu Feng: …
Well, yes—they were talented. But Illya meant something entirely different.
On screen, the man and woman were flying across rooftops, battling from the sky to the ground and back again.
Illya watched in awe, eyes wide with admiration. “What kind of ability is that?”
“It’s all fake. Just special effects.”
Illya didn’t quite understand what special effects meant, but he did grasp the concept of real vs fake.
“So it’s not real?”
Chu Feng nodded. “It’s not.”
Illya looked a little disappointed. “I thought so. Their powers were too strange.”
Chu Feng crossed his arms and thought to himself: TV heroes are always flying around with swords, summoning clouds, and diving into oceans—but in real life, that kind of stuff just doesn’t exist.
