Monster Cub Live Stream – CH10

Chapter 10

Wuhula had bought the medicine for his elder brother. Neither he nor his brother lived in C City; instead, they led a free and easy “wandering” life between the wilderness and the major cities.

Fortunately, Wuhula had not yet had the chance to use the miracle medicine either.

Xiong Yingjun recounted the story vividly. “When our people found Wuhula, his big brother was in the middle of chewing him out, saying he’d spent that much money to buy back a poison pill, calling him a spendthrift and going on and on, balabala…”

Lin An’an was a little puzzled. On the small light screen, he wrote: [Wuhula’s big brother knew there was something wrong with the medicine?]

Feng Wu said, “He saw the post we made.”

On the very day Si Youlin took the miracle medicine, Feng Wu had anonymously posted about it on the SinNet forum. But that post was deleted not long afterward, and after that, they were no longer able to make any similar posts, as if the topic had been blocked.

Only SinNet administrators should have had that level of authority, but Feng Wu could not determine whether it had truly been an administrator, or whether a hacker had infiltrated the SinNet system.

Still, it was obvious that this fleeting post, brief as a mayfly, had managed to save a life at the very last moment.

Xiong Yingjun looked practically radiant with delight. “It was the first time I’ve ever seen Wuhula suffer such a crushing setback. It felt amazing!”

A question mark popped up over Lin An’an’s head. [Brother Xiong knew Wuhula before?]

Feng Wu chose his words carefully. “We had some contact in the past.”

Translated, that meant: yes, they knew each other, but not well—and that previous encounter was very likely not a pleasant one.

The little cub thought to himself that every one of them was truly an acting genius. During that earlier meeting, there had been absolutely no sign that they actually recognized one another.

At the side, Si Youlin smiled and said, “Third Brother really took a huge fall that time.”

“Fourth Brother!” Xiong Yingjun exploded at once. “You’re actually exposing my embarrassing history in front of other people?”

Si Youlin blinked. “What other people? There’s no one else here.”

Xiong Yingjun instinctively wanted to say, An Cub doesn’t count, but when he looked down and saw the little cub’s innocent and adorable bean eyes, his anger deflated instantly, and he lost all interest in continuing to boast.

Meanwhile, on the Empire’s capital star, inside Emile Palace, Xia Yuanhan received the latest news from Sin Star.

“Feng Wu, Shang Youyuan, Wuhula—none of these three died?” Xia Yuanhan frowned. “They didn’t take the medicine?”

“Feng Wu discovered there was a problem with the medicine and stopped Shang Youyuan and Wuhula in time,” Fan Xiu said. “That miracle medicine was not bought by Feng Wu for himself.”

Xia Yuanhan asked, “Then who was it for?”

“Si Youlin.” Fan Xiu smiled. “The latest report says Si Youlin personally tested the poison by drinking the medicine, and now he’s already dead!”

Xia Yuanhan’s brows relaxed. “One Si Youlin… barely counts as worth it.”

He did not doubt the truth of this report in the slightest. He knew exactly what that “miracle medicine” did. There was absolutely no way an accident could have happened.

Fan Xiu added, “Feng Wu also obtained the other two doses of miracle medicine. It seems he plans to do some kind of research on them.”

“Let him.” Xia Yuanhan sneered, the malice in his eyes fully exposed. “I doubt he’ll be able to discover anything anyway. It doesn’t matter.”

Fan Xiu lowered his head respectfully. “Your Highness is wise.”

At the same time, the supposedly “dead” Si Youlin was lying perfectly fine on his bed, while Xiong Yingjun stuffed two large red envelopes into his hands.

“This is a little token from me and Boss,” Xiong Yingjun said with a solemn face.

Si Youlin weighed the two red envelopes in his hand. They were fairly heavy. “What are the red envelopes for?”

“We’re compensating you for acting as a ‘dead man’ for a while.” Xiong Yingjun scratched the back of his head. “Don’t actors always have that custom? They give red envelopes to the ones who play dead, to get rid of bad luck or something.”

Si Youlin: “…Where exactly are you picking all this stuff up from?”

Xiong Yingjun grinned. “That’s how it’s always written in novels. I got curious and looked it up, and apparently it really is a thing!”

Ever since coming to Sin Star, his time had seemed to multiply out of nowhere. Every day, all he did was eat and sleep, so naturally he had to find something to occupy himself with.

Just as Xiong Yingjun was about to recommend some of his latest favorites to Fourth Brother, he heard Feng Wu calling him from the courtyard.

Lin An’an was getting ready to start streaming, and he needed both Xiong Yingjun and Feng Wu to help him plant seeds.

Not long after the livestream began, the viewer who had chatted happily with Lin An’an the day before entered the stream. He was Lin An’an’s very first follower so far.

[Good morning, cubby!]

[Cubby is so hardworking! Starting the stream so early!]

[What is cubby going to do today?]

Lin An’an replied: [Good morning. This morning I’m planting seeds together with my big brothers.]

Planting seeds was a technical job. Feng Wu and Xiong Yingjun had never dealt with this kind of thing before, and they were completely clueless about sowing. The little cub absolutely had to stand by and demonstrate.

Besides that, after the seeds were planted, Lin An’an still had to use a little of his plant ability on them so they could grow and mature somewhat faster than normal.

After resting these past few days, both his ability and mental power had recovered to some extent. Slow, gentle acceleration like this was still within his abilities.

At some point, a few more viewers entered the livestream. The viewer count hovered around ten or so.

By the time Lin An’an finished stimulating one batch of seeds and paused to rest, he looked up at the screen and saw that the previously empty light panel now had a whole string of bullet comments scrolling across it.

[A farming livestream? That’s pretty rare.]

[Farming on Sin Star? Isn’t the soil there terrible? Can anything even grow?]

[Whether it’s farming or not doesn’t matter. I came for the “cub” in the title. [manual starry eyes jpg]]

[How old is this little cub? So tiny and already sent to Sin Star, how pitiful. [teary-eyed jpg]]

[I just came in to complain—who came up with this livestream title? It nearly shocked my eyeballs out!!!]

[Same here, I was lured in by the title too. [doge jpg]]

[Help, help—cubby isn’t even as big as that wolf’s paw! So, so tiny! And when he jumps he goes duang-duang, like a huge bouncy soft candy. [swallowing drool jpg]]

[Does a cub this cute, hardworking, and well-behaved actually exist? [slurp jpg]]

[Cubby, look here! This isn’t how you plant things. You need special nutrient soil. It’s best to soak the seeds in nutrient solution for a full day before sowing. If conditions allow, you should also sterilize the planting area to ensure a germ-free and nutrient-rich environment for the seeds…]

[Whoa, a true expert appears. But whether anything grows or not isn’t important. As long as cubby is happy, that’s enough! [throwing flowers gif]]

The lively bullet-comment section made the little cub’s eyes light up. Yesterday there had only been one viewer, and today there were already more than ten!

As expected of him. A heavenly descending star of destiny!

Feng Wu and Xiong Yingjun were still carefully planting the seeds. During the livestream, in order to match Lin An’an’s little monster cub form, the two of them also appeared in their second forms the entire time.

The silver wolf and black bear bustled about inside the livestream, their huge wolf paws and bear paws carefully burying the seeds. The sight was rather comical and made people smile without realizing it.

How could the viewers possibly imagine that the silver wolf they were teasing so kindly was actually Marshal Feng Wu, commander-in-chief of the Empire’s First Legion—the man known throughout the Empire as its number one cold-faced demon king?

There were not many seeds from the previous purchase, and after planting all of them, not even a quarter of the little courtyard had been used.

The seeds that had been gently accelerated with ability would take three days to go from sprouting to maturity.

After stimulating the growth of all the current seeds, Lin An’an became a little tired and collapsed on the spot into a flat little cub pancake, only to be gently picked up by the back of the neck by the giant wolf and placed on the wolf’s back.

The little cub rolled once in comfort through the soft fur. When he lifted his head, he discovered that the livestream’s viewer count had not dropped, but instead risen—it was now close to fifty people.

[Such a flattened little cub cake! Is cubby’s body really that soft?! [panting jpg]]

[Wuwuwu, I want to cuddle with cubby in my second form too. [jealous tears flowing from the corner of my mouth jpg]]

[Cubby worked hard! Go buy some nutrient solution to replenish your energy. [Rocket Launcher x1]]

[If you plant them like this, they probably won’t grow. I’m so worried cubby will work really hard for nothing, and then end up crying from disappointment. [deeply worried jpg]]

Lin An’an lay sprawled in the wolf fur, hooked a little tentacle tip, and floated the light screen before himself, then began typing.

An Cub: [In a little while I’m going to the trading hall with Brother Wolf to buy seeds. If brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunties like me, could you give An Cub a little heart? Thank you everyone~]

After typing, the little cub sat up from the wolf fur and blinked his bean eyes at the virtual camera, generously sending out several over-the-top sweet little winks.

[Aaaaahhh An Cub called me big sister! He called me big sister!!!]

[Clutching chest. [awsl jpg]]

[I need a treatment pod! Emergency rescue— [bled out jpg]]

[What’s a little heart? Big brother will give you his life!!]

[[Rocket Launcher x1][Depth Charge x1]]

[[Deep Sea Torpedo x1] …]

Lin An’an found themself transported into a strange world. In this world, there were not only humans, but also all kinds of ferocious beasts and monsters. Lowering their head, Lin An’an saw their own soft, tender little tentacles. It seemed they had become a tiny baby monster, no bigger than the size of a palm. In order to avoid being eaten, Lin An’an was forced to begin a life on the run, hiding here and there wherever possible. Whenever they came across beasts and monsters that were gravely injured and barely clinging to life, Lin An’an—who had been a healer in their previous life—could not bear to ignore them. They gathered medicinal herbs, treated their wounds, and applied medicine. Then, before the other party could wake up, they would quietly slip away, hiding both their deeds and their name. What Lin An’an did not know was that every single one of their actions had been captured by cameras concealed in the shadows. After the Big Bang of the universe, many species were afflicted with strange illnesses. Though the symptoms differed from one case to another, none of them could be cured. With no other choice, the patients—whether willingly or by force—made their way to the forsaken land: Sin Star. Everyone knew that once you arrived on Sin Star, there was only one ending waiting for you: death. Until that day, when a tiny monster cub appeared in the livestream from Sin Star. The palm-sized little monster dragged along its soft and adorable body, carrying medicinal herbs even bigger and heavier than itself. Struggling yet determined, it climbed onto the huge body of an injured beastman and used its delicate little tentacles to tend to his wounds. Then it quietly left without a word. The viewers in the livestream were deeply moved by the little cub’s actions, yet they could only sigh helplessly. The strange illnesses caused by the Big Bang were simply not something that could be cured by such ordinary methods. And yet, under the gaze of everyone in the livestream, the beastman’s wounds slowly began to heal, until he was completely recovered and finally woke up. The crime-ridden star, long buried in repression and despair, had at last waited for that touch of warm light. [Bold and Enlarged] The protagonist is already an adult at the very beginning. Due to special circumstances, his second form is abnormally stuck in a juvenile state. Later on, this second form will return to its adult state, and the romance will only begin after he has regained his human form (as an adult). A warm, cute, healing little sweet story.
