In the Infinite Worlds, I Just Want to Be the God of Wealth – CH11

Chapter 11

Skills: After switching to System #888’s God of Wealth System (you are now a man with two systems!)

[Host, switch over quickly—I’ll show you the new skill.]
#888 was practically bursting with eagerness to showcase its upgraded abilities.

If Lu Chuan didn’t see its value, how could he be persuaded to keep funneling game points into it for Wealth Point upgrades?

“Oh? Let’s see. What skill did you unlock for me?”

[Host, you are walking the path of divinity. The professions in this game don’t suit you.]
#888 took the chance to boast. [With 1,100 points, I leveled up once, and you now have access to one God of Wealth skill.]

This immediately piqued Lu Chuan’s interest.
“Is it the Midas Touch? When I was a kid, my greatest dream from fairy tales was having the golden touch!”

[We don’t produce wealth; we merely redistribute it.] #888 replied timidly. [It’s the Eye of Wealth. Let me switch the interface—you’ll see.]

Skill: Eye of Wealth (also known as the Eye of Truth, Eye of Equivalence)
When activated, the candidate for the God of Wealth can lock onto any person or object. The Eye automatically identifies the most valuable aspect of the target.

Usage Frequency: Once per dungeon (unlock higher usage with system upgrades).

[Host, divine organs always carry divinity. Unlocking this skill on my very first upgrade with you means your compatibility with the God of Wealth’s divinity is extremely high!]
#888 could hardly contain its excitement. This was truly the chosen God of Wealth.

“Perfect! Now I’ll never have to worry about bargaining again—this can reveal the real value of everything I buy.”

Of course, the Eye of Wealth’s potential went far beyond that. But knowing his host’s personality, #888 wisely held its tongue.

Lu Chuan was smart enough to figure it out eventually. But right now, all he cared about was haggling.

“Not bad. Even if I can only use it once, it’s a pretty good skill.” Lu Chuan nodded. “Now I can pick my dungeon properly. I already bragged so much in the real world—if my Newcomer Ranking doesn’t rise a few spots, I’ll be slapping my own face.”

Switching interfaces, the Evil World system thoughtfully pushed three dungeon options to him.

The game always encouraged players to actively enter dungeons.

Those who procrastinated until the last day were forcibly thrown into one. But proactive players were offered multiple dungeons to choose from, nudging them to act sooner.

And because Lu Chuan had performed so well in his last dungeon, the system pushed him three higher-level choices this time: two C-rank and one B-rank.

Normally, players could only attempt C-rank after their newbie protection period, and B-rank was territory reserved for veterans. Without a profession or skill unlocked, B-rank meant near-certain death.

[Host, let’s just pick a C-rank. NPCs there already have decent intelligence, but B-rank dungeons mutate easily. The higher the level, the greater the mutation chance. Many players don’t die in the original dungeon—they die in a mutated one. And higher-rank monsters can’t be swayed by money.]
#888 spoke with heartfelt concern.

With only one skill available—and usable once—it was safer to secure an A+ rating in a C-rank dungeon to climb the rankings steadily, rather than risk everything.

“Mm, then I’ll take the B-rank.” Lu Chuan grinned. “If the NPCs aren’t smart enough, I’d find it annoying. I can usually guess what clever ones are thinking. But idiots? I can’t predict them at all.”

…Huh?  That was his reason for choosing a higher-level dungeon?

#888, as a system, simply couldn’t process human logic.

Dungeon: Lord of the Castle

Players: 10
Description: This ancient castle, hidden in the mountains, rarely sees visitors. Yet locals often spot lavishly dressed guests entering, never to be seen leaving. Few know the truth: the castle hides a miraculous potion that restores youth. You, as an invited guest, seem to have your own plans.

Objective: Submit the true name of the Castle Lord. Each player has 3 chances. Failure after all 3 attempts results in dungeon failure. Success in any attempt clears the dungeon. Multiple successes improve evaluation rank.

Special Condition (Random): You are a priest. Someone has discovered traces of sorcery in the castle. You’ve come to exorcise it. Successful exorcism raises your evaluation and game points. Failure lowers them and deducts points.

Hint: This castle is beloved by the gods.

So, higher-level dungeons came with hidden side missions, huh?
Made sense—no way advanced dungeons would play the same as low-level ones.

When Lu Chuan regained awareness, he found himself in a suit, standing alongside other finely dressed guests at the castle gates.

Before them stood a butler-like figure flanked by many servants.

“Honored guests, welcome. I am Lucas, steward of the castle. I shall serve you during your half-month stay.”

The butler was strikingly handsome, as were the male and female servants behind him—radiant even in servant garb.

The castle itself loomed enormous and opulent, clearly built at staggering cost.

Lu Chuan glanced at his companions: nine others, all expressionless and composed.

Compared to the greenhorns in the newbie dungeon, these players were on a whole different level.

And unlike newbie dungeons, here they weren’t just guarding against bosses. Rival players from other factions—and their hidden roles—could just as easily become enemies. For example, Lu Chuan had been assigned exorcism. Someone else might be tasked to protect the evil spirit. Conflict was inevitable.

“Honored guests, your rooms have been prepared. Pairs of attendants will guide you to rest. At dinnertime, they will fetch you. Inside the castle, you have absolute freedom—do as you please.” Lucas’ smile carried a hint of wickedness. “All you need do is indulge.”

At his signal, the servants split into ten pairs—one man and one woman per guest—and approached with radiant smiles.

Naturally, two came to Lu Chuan.

Both wore low-cut uniforms, their pale skin dazzling, almost deliberately tempting.

Lu Chuan said nothing, simply followed them. The other players also dispersed quietly.

“This is the garden—flowers bloom year-round. Over there is the pool…” The attendants introduced the castle as they led him through: gardens, pool, stables, casino, even pleasure chambers. A hundred chefs staffed the kitchens, all at the guests’ disposal.

No matter what the guests desired, the castle strove to provide.

“Sir, here is your room. If the clothes in the wardrobe don’t suit you, we can change them anytime.”

Lu Chuan inspected the layout, pleasantly surprised.

The castle’s rooms spiraled upward. Each tier had only two rooms spaced far apart, with three stairways in between. His was on the fourth floor.

“Honored guest, we live in the adjoining servant quarters. If you need anything, pull the cord—the bell will ring, and we’ll come immediately.”

“Amazing.” Lu Chuan praised loudly. “This is true professional servant quality.”

“You flatter us, sir. It is only our duty.” The attendants happily pressed closer, brushing his hands with their warm cheeks.

Their skin was heated and human—not monstrous.

“Whatever you desire, sir, we shall fulfill.” They licked their pink tongues across their lips, speaking in perfect unison.

“I see.” Lu Chuan thought seriously for a moment, then reached out to touch the faces of the two servants and said warmly, “I just had a look around, and I think this bed is too small. I’d like it replaced.”

The two servants’ eyes seemed to glow. “What kind of bed would you like, sir?”

“I want a bed made of pure gold, with quilts embroidered in gold thread. As for the size, the bigger the better—if it can cover the entire room, that would be perfect!” Lu Chuan said with great expectation.

Lu Chuan: Wonderful! My dream can come true ahead of schedule—la la la la la!
