Chapter 38: I Adore You
Mu Lantu’s livestream room was no longer what it used to be. He had 1.8 million followers, 360,000 concurrent viewers, and earned over 10,000 yuan a day in virtual gifts. His fans came from all walks of life—Lego fans, competition fans, atmosphere fans, rich fans… and face fans.
Lego fans liked the Lego content.
Competition fans knew Mu Lantu had promised to hold more Lego competitions in the future, with generous prizes, and would announce details in his streams.
Atmosphere fans loved the peaceful, drama-free vibe of the room.
Rich fans believed the streamer was from a wealthy background and were curious about his true identity, hoping prolonged attention would yield answers.
Face fans were convinced he was incredibly good-looking.
In the finals of the Lego competition, Mu Lantu had appeared as a judge. Though he didn’t show his face, viewers could tell from his build and presence that he must be handsome.
These people gathered for different reasons, but under the moderation of user “005,” the livestream never had any drama. Over time, the fans stuck around. At some point, even the VIP seats had filled up. The top gifter remained HZ, who had donated over 2 million. Many viewers came just because of this mysterious, silent benefactor—who, aside from sending gifts, had never posted a single comment.
Mu Lantu also thought HZ was a little strange but didn’t feel like digging. Maybe the person just wanted some peace and quiet—why disturb that?
After organizing the competition, Mu Lantu successfully launched over 1,000 Lego sets and established ten residential areas in his Dream Home.
Unfortunately, building roads wasn’t something he could outsource, so he had to do it all himself. Until the roads were complete, he couldn’t open Dream Home to the public.
He was currently building roads, highways, and train tracks. Viewers found it a bit boring and were also curious.
Mu Lantu calmly explained, “I plan to use the Lego models built by the contestants to create a mini Lego city. These roads will connect everything together.”
The viewers were blown away by the idea.
“How does the streamer come up with all these amazing ideas? You have to show us once it’s done!”
“The Lego pieces are small, but there are so many! That city will take up quite a bit of space.”
“I just know it’s going to be spectacular. Can’t wait!”
Overwhelmed with excitement, they started showering the room with virtual gifts.
Then the doorbell rang. Mu Lantu guessed it was Ge Tao. He told the audience he’d be back and went to open the door.
“Mr. Mu, this is beef and noodles from the boss.”
“Thank you, you’ve worked hard.”
After sending Ge Tao off, the rich aroma of beef made Mu Lantu realize he was starving. He ended the stream early and headed to the kitchen.
With a discerning palate trained by countless gourmet meals, he could tell instantly—the beef and noodles were made from only the finest ingredients. No wonder Xu Huazhang had gone out of his way to send them.
He devoured the entire pot of noodles, broth and all.
He decided to save the remaining box of beef to share with Xu Huazhang when he got back.
Still early in the day, he called a cleaning service and gave his home a full deep-clean.
Not even half an hour after the cleaners left, Xu Huazhang arrived, both hands full of shopping bags.
Ge Tao and Zhou Ye followed behind, each holding a cardboard box.
It had been a month since they last met. Xu Huazhang stared at Mu Lantu like a man starved.
“Baby, I brought two of the housekeeper’s signature dishes, plus some cake and fruit.”
Mu Lantu’s face instantly turned red, his foot itching to kick him. “Baby” was fine in private—but Xu Huazhang had just called him that in front of Ge Tao and Zhou Ye!
“Why are you just standing there?”
Xu Huazhang looked totally unbothered. And Ge Tao and Zhou Ye wore the perfect poker faces, like they hadn’t heard a thing. Blue started doubting himself—Was he just overreacting?
Xu Huazhang took one of his hands and said to Ge Tao and Zhou Ye,
“I’ll be fine here with my baby. You two can head back.”
Mu Lantu’s face twitched uncontrollably.
Ge Tao and Zhou Ye calmly nodded, turned, and left—closing the door behind them.
But they didn’t actually leave. Standing just outside, they glanced at each other, fists clenched as they silently laughed their hearts out.
Who would’ve thought?
That icy, aloof boss of theirs—turns into such a love-struck fool in a relationship!
Good thing they’d signed NDAs, or they’d be dying to spill this gossip to their friends.
Inside the house, Xu Huazhang and Mu Lantu stood face-to-face.
Xu Huazhang took both of Mu Lantu’s hands, eyes tracing every feature on his face with reverence and warmth, painting invisible strokes of deep affection before settling on Mu Lantu’s clear, pure gaze.
“Lantu,” he said softly, “I adore you. Will you be mine officially?”
